  1. While I do think the concept is really neat, I wonder how this will do with younger demographics considering its entry price. Parents might be hesitant to spent $60 on a LEGO set as a gift that has a lot of playability tied up in expansion sets. At least when I was a kid, $60 sets weren’t in the price range for gifts. Though I’m not a parent and don't really know what the average spending amount for LEGO buyers is, so this is just conjecture.
  2. This just made me realize, have we not actually gotten a set of just this, outside of it being part of the two Cloud City builds? Which is surprising, considering it's pretty much the iconic Star Wars scene.
  3. I feel like the Jabba’s palace “controversy” wasn’t actually big enough to impact Lego’s decision making. I hadn’t even heard of it being a thing until super recently when people here referenced it after the fact. Slave Leia, ya that’s something but I could still see them eventually bringing back the fig under the new Huttslayer branding. Especially in a large set aimed at adult collectors, not children.
  4. The thing that the Battle for Endor has over Hoth is there is one key building that they could focus on, the bunker. A beefed up 8038 would make a much better display piece than the Hoth since its not spread out over a bunch of unconnected terrain parts.
  5. Definitely want a new cantina, especially a large one that has a lot of seating space. Though after 3 cantinas, 3 landspeeders, and 2 landing crafts, another Tattoine set without Garindan would be a big missed opportunity.
  6. The winner announcement mentioned they'd have more info next year. "Thank you all once again for voting. We will be revealing more information next year onwards, so stick around! "
  7. Checking back, you're correct. For some reason I was remembering it as being the TIE Advanced.
  8. Most certainly a OT ship, though there aren't whole lot of (iconic) OT ships left without doing more remakes (which is also very possible). TIE Bomber, Nebulon-B (won't happen yet cause of the fan poll), the Sail Barge, and Home One are what I can think of off the top of my head. The Barge is a bit smaller than the Millenium Falcon IIRC so I could see them doing a minifig scale version of that in the $400-500 range. Though I also could see them do a remake of the TIE Interceptor since it's the 20th anniversary of UCS sets and the Interceptor was one of the first two released (and the X-Wing has already been remade). Tinfoil hat time, but also the May the 4th set has the A-Wing and Interceptor.
  9. Battlepacks: Siege of Mandalore: The Republic - $15 Minifigures: Captain Vaughn, 2 332nd Troopers, and Death Watch Mandalorian. Siege of Mandalore: The Shadow Collective - $15 Minifigures: Gar Saxon, 2 Mandalorian Super Commandos, and Pyke Enforcer. Microfighters: Imperial Shuttle - $10 Minifigures: Grand Admiral Sloane Nebulon-B - $10 Minifigures: General Dodonna Battle on Utapau - $20 Microfighter build of Grievous's Wheel Bike and Boga Minifigures: General Grievous and Obi-Wan. Sets: Duel on Dagobah - $20 The Dark Side Cave Minifigures: Dagobah Luke and Vader w/ damaged helmet. AT-DT - $30 Minifigures: Mimban Stormtrooper, 2 Mudtroopers (with masks) Imperial Remnants - $40 Imperial Troop Transport Minfigures: 2 Remnant Stormtroopers, Death Trooper and Incinerator Trooper. {CW Spoiler} - $60 TIE Bomber - $80 Minifigures: Tie Pilot, Imperial Officer, Imperial communication droid, and Mas Amedda. Stinger Mantis - $120 Slightly smaller in size than Kylo Ren's shuttle. Wing/engine pieces rotates and has interior space for a cockpit, lounge, and area to customize a lightsaber. Minifigs: Cal Kestis, Cere Junda, Greez Dritus, Second Sister, and 2 Purge Troopers. Bonus Legends Set: Battle on Felucia - $50 Bull Rancor, Sarlacc pit, and various jungle flora. Minifigures: Galen Marek, Shaak Ti, and Maris Brood.
  10. While I'd also prefer molded, this appears to be Lego's solution to characters larger than bigfig going forward. Ares, Giant Man, Stone Warrior, and now Grawp have all been made in this "brick-built minifigure" style.
  11. This hasn't been "confirmed" as being specifically being a UCS set, correct? Saw someone call it one a few pages back so just double checking.
  12. Is this the first time a playset theme hasn't had sets in the low price range? Seems odd that (besides the 1 polybag) the two cheapest sets are $35 and $50.
  13. Disappointing that the set is going to be The Child, but I guess those who love him will be happy with it. Though I feel like it will look much better than Yoda since they don't need to worry about irises/pupils since The Child's eyes are just black. Hopefully the $100 exclusive will be something that I'm interested in at least. Though it's actually probably a good thing since theres a lot of sets I want that are coming this year already and my wallet is not going to be happy
  14. In the US it's on backorder as of right now.
  15. I feel like the best chance for the Ghost (includes the Phantom, not as a separate set) would be a set like the Tantive IV, $200 (max) with a detailed exterior and non-scaled interior for play use. A UCS would be ideal, but I doubt LEGO would do a UCS for Rebels considering the Prequels barely even get them. Minifigs I'd like to see (some spoilers in this section): Also putting this in spoilers as it pertains to S4 but on the topic of Rebels, I would also love to see the
  16. Does LEGO still do the pre-order minifigs for games? Haven’t bought one since Beyond Gotham so I dont know. If there is one, I’m guessing it’d probably be related to Ep. 9. Maybe dark side vision Rey since it’d be hard to fit her in a regular set?
  17. Considering picking up the Monster Fighter one off bricklink and combining it with this into a larger castle.
  18. Looks like the leg thing for the bad guy isn’t a full leg piece like we’ve had before and instead the fig has regular legs that stand within the cloud which is super cool. Color scheme looks great, except for the astronomy tower. Looks really out of place IMO to only have the tan in that one place. Really hope those stain glass windows aren't stickers Over all I love this set, IMO the second best after the high school (which Im still annoyed I never picked up when it was on shelves )
  19. A few other themes’ high res images have shown up on Promobricks so hopefully we’ll be getting better images shortly.
  20. Around the time it happened I remember reading somewhere that it was because the creator was a LEGO employee, which isn't allowed under the TOS. No idea if that’s accurate or not, though.
  21. An underwater theme could totally have aquatic yokai (like the kappa) inspired enemies in the same vein as the Atlantis animal-human hybrids. Kaiju would be neat but would probably also need minifig size villains as well. Maybe Kaiju enthusiasts in costumes like the s5 CMF dinosaur guy Yes please
  22. For the most part I'm not that big of a Ninjago fan, but a Nya-centered underwater season would be fantastic. I grew up with Mission Deep Sea, Aquaraiders, and Atlantis so I'm always hoping for more ocean action/adventure themes
  23. The AT-AT looks pretty good IMO. The interior looks nice and the head shape doesn't bother me that much. Plus the Veers figure looks fantastic. But doesn't seem to be a big enough improvement on the 2014 to warrant the $50 price increase, though since I missed out on all the previous versions I might still consider picking this one up.
  24. Going off of Lionbear8's prompt from the spoiler thread. One of these may be a tiny bit unrealistic Gotham Sirens’ Hideout - $30 Blurb: Harley Quinn and Poison Ivy have just robbed the Gotham Bank. Help Batgirl track down two of Gotham City’s Sirens to their hideout. Bat Vehicle - Air: Batgirl's Bat-Hang-Glider Other Build: “Rooftop” green house. 3 Minifigs: Poison Ivy (Batman: Hush), Harley Quinn (BTAS), and Batgirl (Burnside). Batman’s Hall of Batsuits - $50 Blurb: In the Batcave, Batman is always prepared for any scenario with a host of specialized suits, both new and old, at his immediate disposal. Bat Vehicle - Land: Batcycle Other Build: Basically 76125 but Batman aesthetics. 2 Minifigs: Bruce Wayne and Red Robin. 3 Suit Display: Batman Beyond, Flashpoint, and Gotham by Gaslight. King Shark Attack - $70 Blurb: King Shark has teamed up with KGBeast and the duo are raiding cargo shipments being dropped off at the Gotham City docks. Help Batman and Spoiler bring an end to their scheme. Bat Vehicle - Sea: The Bat-Speedboat. Other Build: Dock with a loading crane and cargo crates. 4 Minifigs: King Shark (bigfig), KGBeast (Harley Quinn show), Batman (New 52 stealth suit), and Spoiler (Rebirth). Brightest Day and Blackest Night - $100 Blurb: Nekron rises! The DC's greatest heroes and villains must team up and join the lantern corps to defeat the leader of the Black Lanterns and stop his quest to rule the universe. Build: Large, brick built Nekron. Similar to the upcoming Monkey Kid “mech”. Plus a few tombstones, a mausoleum, and dead tree. 7 Minifigs: Supergirl (Red Lantern), Lex Luthor (Orange Lantern), Scarecrow (Yellow Lantern), Batman (Green Lantern), The Flash (Blue Lantern), Indigo-1, and Wonder Woman (Star Sapphires).
  25. This talk about Dominion has got me reading up on some past interviews on it, and I have to say I'm now actually excited about it. Hopefully the move away from hybrids means theres more room for a wider variety of real dinosaurs. The Mosasaur is probably a given for the film (I could see them incorporating the cut scene from Fallen Kingdom in), but who knows if it'll get a set.
