LEGO Hidden Side 2020
UberCorp replied to Digger of Bricks's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
Hopefully LEGO somehow manages to release Lady E in a future product even if this is the last HS wave. Would be fine with them just throwing her design in a future CMF under a generic name (like how we got a revamped Johnny Thunder in S19) -

Ya Resistance is pretty meh in terms of story, but it does a great job with the ship design. I didn't even like the show but would still love to see more sets based off it cause it has a lot of cool looking ships. -
Wu's lab is great, very much reminds me of the lab scene of the original Jurassic Park. If I can find the Anklo/Indo set eventually on sale, I'll definitely be picking it up. The build is great (love the track for launching the gyrosphere) and I love the ankylosaurus mold, I'm just not a fan of the Indominous Rex (in general. the new version looks accurate but just isn't something I really want) so it's just not worth full price.

Is the shark actually sand blue? If so, its even more disappointing getting a new realistic color thats ruined by the weird ghost eyes. -

Wow that submarine set is... pretty terrible IMO. Which is a shame cause i was really looking forward to it. Really nothing about the landscape build makes me think underwater, submarine isnt anything special (and i really hate the face on it), and the shark is a huge missed opportunity to not make the mold available in something like spring green. Only good part of the set is that sweet wetsuit but I can just bricklink that. At least theres still the castle to look forward to -

And it appears that the firetruck comes with the same figure except with a hood rather than a helmet. My guess is these guys are the minions of an antagonist who’ll appear in the castle or possibly of the big guy in the firetruck -

The descriptions we got from Nuremberg toy fair mentioned the firetruck transforming into a possessed mech. I guess that big ghost is what’s supposed to be possessing it? They did a pretty good job of hiding the transform features when in the firetruck mode, at least judging by these images. -

I kinda like the Slenderman thing. Haven't got anything like it in this theme yet, so its a nice change. Also is that a Gonk droid next to JB? -
LEGO Monkie Kid 2020

Expectations weren’t that high but Im still underwhelmed (especially with the sea base). The two mechs are kind of neat, but IMO nothing really interesting outside of those two. Though I’ll bet kids will love this theme. -
True, but at this point I’m just assuming we wont get anything based of anything other than JW content with the occasional JP 1 set since I feel like if they were willing/able to do more Jurassic Park sets they would have by now. We have a better chance of getting something like the Spinosaurus if it was to appear in a LEGO JW movie than a set based off of Jurassic Park III.

LEGO making Jurassic Park/World movie(s) could potentially open up the possibility of them having more creative freedom with what dinosaurs they make since they could just include new stuff in the movie just to have an excuse for them being made into a set. Would be a great way to get some new molds.

The Outland TIE would be comparable to the Imperial TIE from solo in size, which was only $70 so a $100 set seems a bit pricey. I guess they could bump it up with the folding feature and adding some sort of ground elements like the cave entrance + lava gondola but that seems a unlikely. I feel like we wont see any more The Mandalorian sets until season 2 -
Dont worry, i gave up on hoping for one a while ago

LEGO City 2020 - Rumors, Speculation, and Discussion
UberCorp replied to Digger of Bricks's topic in LEGO Town
Normally not into City, but Im a total sucked for underwater themes. The Sea Base is so good. Definitely grabbing that, the larger submarine, and a whole lot of polybags. Its nice that the smaller set comes with the shark but the build is super meh so I may just Bricklink a few sharks. also the backs of the three larger sets have actual photos of sea creatures/ coral/wrecks which is super sweet. -

Well, the Death Star Final Duel was about the same part count so I wouldn't totally put it past Lego. -

As expected the boat isn't really that interesting to me. Submarine looks about how I expected so I'll grab that, though sadly looks like it won't be including the new hammerhead. Hopefully the mini sub is like 2014's 60091, which included a shark, so fingers crossed the hammerhead will show up in that as well as the research base. -

The previous LAATs have been about correct for rough dimensions, but the detailing isn't super accurate. The Brickvault one (which is minifig scale) is just over 1500 pieces, so I think there's a least a possibility that it could be minifig scale. If LEGO did one around that part count, that + the stand would probably come close to the A-Wing piece count. Though we won't really know anything definitive for a while. -

$75+ USD I believe is what it's been in the past -
Eldritch horror would be great. Lots of creative freedom to come up with a wide variety of creatures, plus eldritch horror has quite a bit of widespread knowledge due to its popularity in tabletop/video games. Though LEGO may not want to make a theme with any association to Lovecraft, all things considered. More supernatural than horror, but I'd love a spiritual successor to Monster Fighters that focuses on cryptids. Same kinda style/era as Monster Fighters but instead focuses on the main characters trying to capture/prove the existence of cryptids. Could include stuff like Mothman, the Loch Ness Monster, the chupacabra, ect. represented by a combination of minifigs and brick-built/large molded creatures depending on sizes.

LEGO Hidden Side 2020
UberCorp replied to Digger of Bricks's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
Interesting. Quick checked Brickipedia and it says "Some early Hidden Side promotional materials listed the minifigure as Diego Diaz, which is consistent with the minifigure's nametag. However, most current Lego promotional materials use the Elton Douglas name". Maybe Diaz was the name originally planned to be used but was latter changed after the minifigures were finalized for some reason? -
Oh ya, I definitely don't want that. The Tantive IV is a good comparison. ~$200 set that includes Ghost + Phantom with accurate exterior and minimal interior space that isn't to scale. Old one is so expensive now and is really not worth it for the quality

The U-Wing is by far one of my favorite ship designs to have come out as of late, so I'm totally on board for a UCS version (plus the last version's portions aren't that great). Downside is it's still fairly new and LEGO has barely even touched the prequels yet in terms of UCSs, but Rogue One does seem fairly well liked (even among people who are mostly OT fans from what I've seen) and it fits with the other Alphabet Squadron type ships. IMO it's one of the strongest possibilities for a UCS set that isn't from the OT or PT. I think the best shot that the Jedi Temple has is if it's in the same style as the Architecture series. A play set would have to be massive and I just don't think it has the same widespread appeal like the Death Star for a large play set to sell super well. Plus having it purely as a display piece would prevent any association with Knightfall, which LEGO wants to avoid. Sail Barge, Nebulon-B, and the another AT-AT are definitely inevitable inclusions. An Imperial Shuttle that's sizably larger than the last (which was already minifig scale I believe) seems unlikely to me, but is possible since the ship is so iconic. Personally, I would also love to see a UCS set of The Ghost, but that will probably never happen

Agreed. She's really the only main CW character who hasn't gotten a fig recently (her last prequel era version was 2013 IIRC) + she's the focus of the recent CW content. A named character is a possibility since the other blue AAT we got had Yoda but that set was bigger so its probable that it doesn't include any. -

That A-Wing actually looks a lot better than I was expecting but it's not high enough on my priority list that I'll be able to justify spending the $200 on it before it retires.
