  1. Very nice build. I actually would want to see a different shade(s) with the water. Something seems off to me, but since I've never built landscapes before I can't be for sure. The rest of the dirt and greenery are amazing though. I am very impressed. And I want to watch that movie now. Keep up the good work!
  2. Wow, a turtle blimp would be awesome. Let's hope it appears in the show then.
  3. Put the 1x2 brick/plate on the horse then have the figure sit on top. It would give an appearance of riding without a saddle instead of the big gap on the side whilst standing.
  4. While that would be awesome, I don't see it happening. They will continue to focus on what is hot in customer's minds.
  5. That is dedication for sure. We don't allow wiggles in our house because their music is too catchy. I am more excited for these sets whenever they come to a regular priced store. I think for what they are the price is a tad too high.
  6. I did like that princess the first time I saw that set in brickset. I'm not sure if I will buy it though. Her bottom does look very similar to the one used in the GE, if I'm not mistaken. So maybe not as unique as I first thought.
  7. I'm actually excited for the whole line. The sets look fantastic. I'll wait to see about official US prices, but I will also wait for sales so it won't be a big deal for me there. But I will get all of them for sure. The figures look great and I may actually build some of these sets for display. The only downside I see is multiples of two main characters instead of just multiples of one main character like IJ, HP, PoP, POTC.
  8. Claussayshoho - I would recommend Helm's Deep/Goblin King. I love Batman. He is my favorite character ever created, but the Batcave set was pretty lackluster (I didn't buy it, but I bought everything else) and Arkham looks amazing, but a bit high price point for one set. But Helm's Deep/Goblin on the other hand brings you a giant castle (I have yet to build it) with some awesome exclusive figures and then some more great looking figures (I won't build Goblin town). I'm more on a Tolkien kick right now though, so that might be why. Go with what you want more. I'm sure the pair you choose will be fun either way. And 3 of the 4 will have good sales eventually I'm sure. Amset-Rah - I think it all depends on how much cash you actually have. I have the MF Lab, but didn't build it. The figures do look great though. I think if you could add to it and enclose it, it would look very finished. I was going to get the train until I saw the Haunted House and would get ghosts with that. I don't care to own extras of the fighters and the rest of the train wouldn't go with my style, so I skipped on that. I almost bought the castle a few times (again until I saw the Haunted House) since I didn't need extras of some of the figures. But it does have lots of play features and some useful parts for other castle MOCing. The brown man-bats are really neat looking too. I've heard good things about the sand green car also. I'd say go for that for sure, if you're into the MF line. However, don't pay $100. I've seen it for sale down to $60-70 before, so you might want to look out for a sale. I almost snagged it at that low price, but still skipped it for the HH. As for Arkham, that does look like a beautiful set and the figures do look really neat (I will definitely get it eventually), but buying a giant D2C set as your first superhero set might not be the best idea, especially if you seem to be more interested in the MF line anyway. I'd recommend getting one of the smaller superhero sets to see what you think of the characters and everything. And that then will open a giant can of worms to which cheaper SH set to get, so I don't dive into that here. Another Brick In The Wall - Definitely get the GE. Like everyone else, it will go away sooner. Plus it has more pieces for the same price point. I got it for Father's Day and loved it. The top two floors can be repetitive, but the final result is worth it. They definitely did a great job with the source material. As for PS, I can't attest to that since I haven't built mine yet. I just got it for Christmas so it is still in the box. But the sand blue PS looks awesome. I'm not too sold on the apartment building yet. I think for the price, go GE and then pick up PS later if you are still interested. Ogilegoreviews81 - I'd skip the pit. I am not too into SW anyway, but when I saw that set I definitely wanted it. But I agree, at that price point and piece count, it really isn't worth it. Especially with only two of four exclusive figures. That rancor is beautiful though. But I am going to look into bricklink and see if I can do that instead. But after building Unexpected Gathering, I would highly recommend that set. If you are into Tolkien at all or just like those figures, get it. It can work for Hobbit or LOTR being such an iconic location. But after building it, I was really impressed with the size. The figures look amazing too and with mostly exclusive figures, where can you go wrong? But if Rancor is a must have, definitely wait for a sale. I would recommend not buying anything from TRU if you can help it, especially since every other store will have the bulk of the sets anyway and usually give sales.
  9. This is interesting news and a surprise to me (and many others). I would have expected the MWT to exist in LEGO form in the future more so than the BTTF set, but LEGO has their ideas I guess. I will disagree that they will conflict with each other. Especially since this would be a D2C set anyway and not something on every store shelf, meaning most people wouldn't see the MWT, only the Lone Ranger sets. So they'd still make money either way. As far as BTTF goes, I suppose this might be good news. I enjoyed the movies as a kid, but I can't say I've seen them since then, so I don't know how appealing this will be to me in the long run. I'll just have to wait and see the final product/price. That will be the biggest factor for me. I didn't care so much about Zelda or Eve, so CUUSOO hasn't been a big thing for me yet. The only thing I was interested in was the MWT and that becomes a no-go. Let's see how CUUSOO does in the future.
  10. That is beautiful. very reminiscent of the 50s. I especially love the interior bar and furniture and jukebox! If you wouldn't mind, I may have to borrow that pump idea for a station MOC I am working on.
  11. Thank you for the review. I am planning on getting this set for Shredder and Donnie, but couldn't care less about the pieces. I just figure the figures will be expensive enough so I might as well get the set. I guess the back of the turtles are if you don't want a shell on them, but it seems silly to avoid back printing on the best figure. I don't care to own the Baxter set, so this will be the only Donnie for me.
  12. Neat build. I know nothing of this part of the story, but it looks neat. However, I agree about those elves. They say not to mix yellow and licensed skin tones, but I think that especially means on the same figure. I would recommend different heads/hands or yellow sharpie the ears (it really does look like the right shade of yellow).
  13. I like it. I can't wait to find this beauty near me. But how did you get so many?
  14. The fact that Tribal is in the title for both figures, that is an easy mistake. I also would look at their feedback. high positives are usually that way for a reason. Definitely talk to them about what you want and see how they work with you. Good luck.
  15. Why would that matter? I buy CMF by myself all the time. And no sighting at any Wal- Marts here in Nebraska yet. I haven't looked at any other stores on account of the blizzard.
  16. This is a beautiful set. I don't care for Spider-Man at all, but the supporting cast is awesome this year (last year was questionable). I will buy this for Venom and Fury, but it is nice to see a decent vehicle build out of it too. I may actually put it together. I did like the Shield truck last year, but I didn't put that together, so who knows. Thanks for the review. It was very informative. But it's hard to persuade me to buy it when I already was going to! ha
  17. I like the size of the tumbler actually. It's when you get too large of vehicles like the batmobile where it starts to look weird.. And I actually prefer the newer Freeze head to the old. I must be the only one that doesn't care about the goggles.
  18. The sets look amazing. Even if the movie flops we will still have some great sets. But I don't see the movie or the sets flopping like PoP. The new molds are really neat. I'm excited for a return to western. I will definitely pick up the whole line, but I was planning on that anyway. Now I'm glad SW doesn't Look good next year to save some money. It is a shame about getting so many Lone Rangers and Tontos. I would like more Native Americans for sure. And I'm glad they aren't hideous like the last Indian theme.
  19. Well they had that Batmobile for Batman I, so they may do something UCS again. However, with both Marvel and DC, it may be difficult to do UCS if they want to keep the playing field level. Otherwise, I bet it would be hard to sell two UCS sets each year. But that's just because I wouldn't be able to afford it...
  20. I haven't followed space since Spyrius, so I had no idea. I missed out on Knights Kingdom II, but from what I've seen I would agree. I wouldn't want them to return to that (although I doubt they would). I'm sure more Kingdoms is fine, but I'd like to think there are more kingdoms within the Kingdom(s) realm.
  21. That's neat that TRU is getting them already, but I doubt I will pick any up until it's a good sale. However, I also wouldn't say Freeze is the worst. I'd lend that to Doc Ock. Sure he's accurate to the source material, but he is just harry potter with a few extra arms. I love the Harry Potter universe, but I wouldn't consider him a Super Hero or villain. And after finally watching Avengers a month or so ago, the Chitauri are actually pretty accurate, I'd say.
  22. This isn't the right topic for this, but wasn't there a Alien Conquest alien in the CMF before that theme existed and they only included the Alien queen because it ended prematurely (or so I've read). I never followed that theme, so I don't know any details about it. But I would tend to agree that something used once doesn't guarantee it was in mind for another theme altogether. I'd love for the Forest Maiden to mean something or the Black Falcon to be used more effectively, but until we get leaked pictures or descriptions, it will be tough to say for sure. I wouldn't be too keen on another crown faction though since I'd want something new. Even new from the other Kingdoms factions since I already have too many of them. If they just continue with Kingdoms without any changes, I think it might be a bit stale. They had 2 years worth of sets. I'm not sure we need more of that specific section, but I'd love more Kingdoms-esque sets/factions.
  23. I remember seeing the facebook post of the Frodo poster. Craziness that it happened a year ago. I haven't seen the movie yet so I can't be upset about which sets were chosen, but I like how they turned out and how the figures look. Same goes for LOTR. I'm just glad they exist.
  24. Very clever! Now they just need to release some more figures to fill it up! The only thing I'd add is a MOC of Sauron's finger with the ring on the side (similar to the boxes) just to add something to it. But I think overall it looks great. I should consider doing something like this.
  25. I think it is very fitting in style to the rest of the line. A pub would make sense for when the adults need some time away from the children. I agree that the trees look awesome, but are those white leaves on the big tree actual LEGO? You may have to modify that bit to fit in with the rules. But I could be mistaken. Thanks for showing us. Good luck in the contest. It should add some good competition.
