  1. The sets still aren’t available for pre-order in the US… Anyone know when they will be?
  2. Welcome back, @lego_guyon02! Many of us were asking about your whereabouts this year. You have been missed. For the folks who are new to this forum, @lego_guyon02 was really our only source of information on the 2021 sets last year and he helped us all brace for the impact of LEGO’s rather unexpected soft reboot of the Harry Potter line. He is the unsung EuroBricks hero in my opinion. Hope you are here to stay @lego_guyon02. Can you independently verify this D2C Hogwarts Express rumor? Any other thoughts on what this could look like? While I am disappointed the D2C isn’t Gringott’s, I think a truly minifig scale motorized Hogwarts Express could be spectacular. I can see LEGO including several train cars and making each one based on a specific movie scene. The iconic Sorcerer’s Stone scene where the golden trio meets. The Prisoner of Azkaban scene with Lupin and the dementors. The Half Blood Prince scene where Harry spies on Draco, Zabini, and crew while Luna, Ginny (and her Pygmy puff Arnold) stand nearby. Still not a day one purchase for me, but I could be tempted around Christmas time to see something like this chugging along beneath the Christmas tree…
  3. So much good news to take in… I don’t even know where to begin! Are those new broom molds??? I can’t believe I’m focusing on that with Kreacher, Lupin Werewolf, green smoking jacket Sirius, Sirius Padfoot, Pince, purple haired Tonks, baby thestral and all the other goodies LEGO has packed into these sets. But seriously can someone confirm that we are getting new broom molds this year? If the D2C is Gringott’s, I am calling this as the best year of Harry Potter LEGO to date.
  4. Nice! I’m so freaking excited. I have a feeling we are all going to be pleasantly surprised with this year’s sets and minifigs… I suspect that there are several LEGO designers who lurk on this forum to collect our feedback and bring it back to LEGO. So many of the items we have wish-listed on this forum are finally becoming a reality this year. Even obscure items like the Thestral foal. And the overall tone of the sets also feels much darker and less focused on the dollhouse / fancy dress party themes of 2018-2020. For bricks’ sake, we are even getting a giant Ministry of Magic set (possibly) based on Deathly Hallows! My excitement for LEGO Harry Potter definitely declined after the D2C Icons set was revealed, but the anticipation for a potential D2C Gringott’s set this year has me back in obsession mode. For $470, I would honestly be happy with just Gringott’s and a badass Ukrainian Ironbelly. Give us Borgin and Burke’s and the Leaky Cauldron (or Pottages or Eeylop’s Owlery or Madam Malkin’s) and I will be a very happy man.
  5. Any clues on when we might start seeing leaked parts or images from the 2022 sets? I had a dream that a Lupin werewolf minifig leaked and he was glorious. He had the Wizard of Oz flying monkey legs in gray: and he had a new headmold that was reminiscent of the Anubis heads from the old LEGO Pharoah’s Quest sets - sleek and scary - but gray with small pointy ears and bright yellow eyes… I’m dying to see how LEGO tackles this minifig to the point that it has now entered my dreams! Any thoughts on how Lupin as a werewolf will look in his newest iteration? I think reusing the old werewolf head that is all furry and wild and almost comical looking is not an option. Do folks think we may actually get a new “animal” mold for him instead of a modified minifig? Or, dare I say it, a brickbuilt werewolf? Or - even worse - is there really a chance we will not get a werewolf Lupin in the Shrieking Shack set at all?
  6. I could be wrong, but I’m fairly certain that the Quetzacoatlus figure’s wings are designed in such a way that you can actually rotate them forward to mimic the creature’s iconic standing pose. Take a look at how the wings connect to the body. There seem to be two points of articulation - horizontal and vertical. Would have loved vertical neck articulation, too.
  7. 💯 Agreed. This style is much more fun for little kids and AFOLs alike to play with. It allows you to customize your Hogwarts display based on your imagination and the possibilities are endless. Can’t wait to see all the different ways the Sirius Escape set and the Dumbledore’s Office set can be added to the layout. And my hopes for the interiors are high based on last year’s interiors.
  8. The information that @THELEGOBATMAN shared about Tina was officially released by WB in their latest trailer - it is not “a film leak.” A bit more civility on this forum would go a long way… Let’s all just chill out and stick to LEGO Harry Potter. Is anyone else in the US having issues with their delivery of the Hospital Wing, Trunk, and Moments sets? Mine were supposed to arrive yesterday and I was so looking forward to building them this weekend. Now it just says “In Transit”. Excited to see how I’m going to be able to connect the Hospital Wing to the rest of the 2021 modular sets. Has anyone seen all the sets combined yet?
  9. Is a LEGO Harry Potter accessory pack confirmed for this year? I don’t know how I missed that! Wonder what it could be… Quidditch is an obvious choice but we haven’t had any quidditch sets since 2018. Maybe a Ministry of Magic pack with dementors and random Ministry officials (and Harry)?
  10. Will the rumored Gigantosaurus set release with all the other sets in April? If so, I don’t understand why folks keep thinking LEGO is waiting to reveal it so as not to spoil the movie plot. The movie comes out on June 10. I’m sure they are just waiting to reveal it for marketing purposes to coincide with some other big final marketing / merchandising pushes for the movie. These sets rarely if ever reveal major plot points to movies that haven’t already been revealed in trailers.
  11. I agree 💯. And the Cornish Pixies!!! The only element of the COS set that I didn’t love is the Basilisk square body. It’s leagues ahead of the horrible blocky black snake we got in 2018, but I would’ve preferred something more like @Micmac ‘s mod. Easy enough to fix though: And now that we know Dumbledore’s office connects to the COS set at a 90 degree angle I love it even more. Fingers crossed for an open-winged Fawkes mould in the Dumbledore’s office set to make our COS displays complete! Welcome @Alas_Earwax!
  12. Yes, we literally just had this conversation after some disgusting comments were made re: the invasion of Ukraine. Apparently they can’t help themselves from making irrelevant JK Rowling references now. I agree. If Grimmauld Place is included in this year’s sets, this very well may be my favorite LEGO Harry Potter wave of all time. At $120, I think we can get a decent play set that can be modified to fit the modular LEGO city lineup. I’d love if there were some appearing / disappearing function, but that’s not make or break for me. I’d be happy with a classic townhouse facade with an interior that hopefully could look something like this: https://ideas.lego.com/challenges/fa395293-eda9-4603-83cc-aac44c1052cb/application/2a7993f5-2abb-4c27-ad7e-2b60345883b3 That being said, I also wouldn’t be mad if the $120 set was an 18+ “quote” set like the one we are getting for Jurassic Park this year. An iconic moment that would make sense with this wave could be the epic battle scene between Dumbledore and Voldemort in the Ministry of Magic’s green atrium with the lifts. It would look great in front of the Ministry of Magic set we are getting. I could see them giving a few different options to display it - a build showing just the wand magic colliding, a build with Voldemort’s fire snake, and a build with Dumbledore’s water ball. Anything but maxifigs…
  13. Just a friendly reminder, which the moderators have reminded us of time and time again - this is a LEGO forum, not a platform to share personal opinions on authors, human rights, or geopolitics. This appears to be a more difficult concept for some to grasp then others, but I encourage the reasonable folks among us not to take the bait. There is a ton of new LEGO Harry Potter related content for us to discuss and debate. Let’s not allow ourselves to be distracted. Love this idea, but would we need a new mould for baby Fawkes? There’s already a baby bird mould if I’m not mistaken. I’d be happy with a baby Fawkes, but I’m still hoping for an outstretched wings version.
  14. I think those are meant for an upcoming LEGO Star Wars set that includes “Force Ghosts”. That’s not to say they couldn’t be repurposed for the 2nd task, but I doubt it.
  15. I’m not holding my breath, but a while back I predicted we would get a new Fawkes mold in 2022 with the famous phoenix featuring outstretched wings. I am still hopeful that we will get this new mould in the upcoming Dumbledore’s office set. This would be a perfect tie-in to last year’s Chamber of Secrets set, which this set is designed to connect to.
  16. I should have been more specific - I meant no FB3 merchandise. They did have a few nifflers among the stuffed animals and they had Newt’s wand among the other wands, but I didn’t see anything else FB or FB3 related. Not even a Funk Pop. Imagine visiting a Disney store around Christmastime when a new Star Wars movie was coming out in a few months. The shelves would be stocked with merchandise for the new movie along with some new offerings from the original movies. It’s almost as if they’ve already cut their losses on FB. Hopefully, Secrets of Dumbledore breathes some new life into the franchise and they start rolling out some new merch. There are so many creatures and locations from those movies that I still want to see in LEGO form!
  17. The Wizarding World franchise is in this really interesting place where it seems like they are simply using the new content that is being produced to reignite fans’ love for the original films and boost sales of merchandise that is based on those original films. They opened an entire Wizarding World store in Manhattan last year I still haven’t seen any Fantastic Beasts merchandise in it - LEGO or otherwise. I don’t understand it. I assume it’s because the movies are targeted to adult fans of Harry Potter and the content is not very kid friendly. Still, I can’t think of any other major movie franchise that operates this way. Look at Jurassic World or Star Wars. The silver lining is that I hope LEGO treats the new Lord of the Rings series the same way - uses the new content as a vehicle to reignite fans’ love of LOTR and rolls out all new LOTR sets based on the original films.
  18. As excited as I was to see the Fantastic Beasts trailer today - and maybe even get some clues to the possible FB LEGO set that I predict will be in the $120 slot - I think the decision to hold off on releasing the trailer today was the right one. Deleted - thanks moderators
  19. The only one worth mentioning is the Hospital Wing in the 2019 Clocktower set, which didn’t include Madam Pomfrey - she isn’t technically a professor but that space is inextricably linked to her and her omission was glaring.
  20. I think the big difference is - this time last year, we had @lego_guyon02 telling us not to hold our breath for a Gringott’s D2C and trying to prepare us to expect the unexpected. This year, it seems like no one but Promobricks has any advance knowledge of what LEGO has in store for us. LEGO has really locked down the leaks this year.
  21. We’re getting Umbridge’s office…. Her Ministry of Magic office
  22. I wouldn’t completely rule out Secrets of Dumbledore yet… We still don’t know what the $120 set is and I for one would love a LEGO version of Newt’s Victorian townhome in London with his magical menagerie on the interior. The mooncalves, a kelpie, maybe even a few multicolored nifflers - I think it would sell well.
  23. This is absolutely everything to me If the set doesn’t include a Snape minifig that meets this description exactly - I’m not here for it.
  24. Congrats! Let’s see the LEGO Ideas project - Do you have a link yet?
