  1. Official or not, this is how I plan to display my Hogwarts castle. Thanks for the wonderful idea! I am so freaking excited for the Astronomy Tower... It’s such a beautiful addition to the castle! Better than I could have ever imagined. What a great time to be a LEGO Harry Potter fan. When do folks think we will see Diagon Alley and 75978? Anyone think we will be getting two August sets like last year? Could that be what kingnono was hinting at?
  2. I disagree. It’s a beautiful torso print and a very faithful reproduction of Sirius’s costume from OotP down to the pattern on the waistcoat. Here are some official images for reference: https://www.harrypotterfanzone.com/pictures/sirius-black-order-of-the-phoenix-portrait-4/ I’m so excited! We are getting Godfather Sirius!
  3. Love me some Cormac. I’d rather get him in the CMF series though in his Quidditch Keeper robes with the leather pauldrons.
  4. I am most excited for the Astronomy Tower and Diagon Alley. The build of the Astronomy Tower still has me baffled. I just can’t picture how they are going to really differentiate it from the Clocktower. I’m imagining a more slender tower with a mostly open third floor with the giant astronomical spheres, a little winding staircase down to the second floor with the Ravenclaw rooms and Slughorn’s office, and a mostly empty first floor foyer that connects to the greenhouse sidebuild. The D2C Diagon Alley is my #1 most anticipated set, though. There are just so many possibilities... And it’s such a feel-good set. Every time I think of it I get the same magic butterflies in my stomach that I get on my annual Halloween pilgrimage to the Wizarding World in Orlando. I can’t wait to see if they include the Ukranian Iron Belly dragon atop Gringott’s, and how they connect Bourgin & Burke’s (_kingnono_ did say everything was pin-connected) to Ollivander’s, Flourish & Blott’s and the rest of the display. I hope there are little butter beer kiosks like at the Wizarding World. Also stoked to see the GWP Hogsmeade, which I firmly believe will be a beautiful little clue at what our next D2C will be! What about everyone else?
  5. I’m most curious about the Astronomy Tower. I want to see how LEGO differentiates it from the Clocktower, which is a somewhat similar shape. I also wonder where the suggested connection point for the Astronomy Tower and the Greenhouses will be to the other sets. I’m not sure that they would look right next to the Clocktower. The interior layout also has me a bit confused. Does anyone have the description of what rooms the interior is supposed to feature?
  6. Maybe @Falconfan1414 can offer us some insight on the timeline? It does seem bizarre that promotional photos and videos have been released for all of the June LEGO sets except Harry Potter...
  7. If the “Muggles Are Our Friends” poster is real, I will be disappointed due to the low quality of the art. The generic minifig silhouettes don’t bother me as much as the gross inconsistency in the width of the arms. The wizard has toothpick sized arms and the muggle has arms nearly as wide as his body. And the poor design also makes it looks like there is a V behind the two minifigs, not a Ministry M. This is not the quality or attention to detail that we have come to expect for this series. If the poster is in fact real, the only place I really see it fitting is in a Ministry of Magic set, as it is a Ministry poster.
  8. I just asked michaelbricksf0rever if we can expect the Harry Potter leaks tonight. His response: “No promises ??”
  9. I feel like I’m waiting for puppies to be born! Our sets could be coming any minute now!
  10. While I still firmly believe 75978 will feature the Duel in the Ministry of Magic Atrium, all this talk of a surprise Chamber of Secrets set has me wondering what a new Chamber set could look like and how it would connect to the modular castle. I just found this great MOC by Bricktorian Guard, which I think nails it. Just a simple horizontal expansion to the modular set with some really cool features. What do you all think? https://youtu.be/jZNVq2hRlKY
  11. I’m watching OotP right now for the same reason! More than anything, it is making me realize how badly I want a Grimmauld Place set... It could be so good!
  12. I love this idea! It would allow kids to throw their Voldy minifig inside of the blue gyrosphere and abuse him a bit in there just like Dumbledore did.
  13. I think they could use green and red versions of the spell / energy pieces used in the Thestral Carriage set that can be flicked off the minifigs hands. I would also really love to see spell builds like Voldemort’s fire snake and Dumbledore’s water ball.
  14. No need to get your wands in a knot, @Guyon2002 & @sammy_zammy . I value and appreciate your opinions, even when I disagree with them. I’m curious about what the general consensus is now on 75978... Who thinks it will be a Ministry of Magic set? Who thinks it will be the Chamber of Secrets? Who still thinks it is the D2C or something else entirely?
  15. I could be wrong, but I don’t think the folks commenting here are saying they “want” it to be a Chamber of Secrets set. It sounds like people are just trying to add _kingnono_’s clues together in a logical way. I still stand by my prediction from the day we got the set numbers, which I have been endlessly ridiculed for by some of our more outspoken forum friends: 75978 will be a Battle in the Ministry of Magic Atrium set, featuring Lord Voldemort (the other Tom from the latest clue), Professor Dumbledore, Harry Potter, Minister Fudge, and Percy Weasley. The build will be focused on the Fountain of Magical Brethren (where the iconic underground battle scene takes place) and a side build will be Voldemort’s magic fire snake, similar to the controversial Basilisk build from 2018. I guess we will all learn the truth in a matter of hours, days, weeks? The wait is killing me! Haha
  16. I think arguments could be made for either one of these two options. Both sets could feature a big bad creature build for the minifigs to battle, which is notably absent from the current retail line-up. In the first wave, we got Aragog and a whole case of fantastic beasts. In the second wave, we got the Hungarian Horntail. Either of these sets could feature a big scary snake build: the Basilisk for CoS and the magic fire serpent for MoM. I just hope when Tom Riddle / Voldemort in the CoS or MoM set is confirmed, all the naysayers on here will eat a big slice of humble pie for adamantly refusing to accept the possibility that set 75978 was not the D2C.
  17. @kirkwoodproductions would you like to post your solution to the riddle in the comments on kingnono’s post? He seems to be responsive - maybe he will confirm!
  18. Could it be? Could the underground set Kingnono has been referencing be the Chamber of Secrets?
  19. The days before the official reveal are the hardest. More than anything, I can’t wait to see how LEGO has designed the Astronomy Tower. I really hope they incorporate some kind of moving astronomical spheres in the top of the tower. This submission of the Astronomy Tower at Christmas to the LEGO Ideas’ Wizarding World contest gives a nice suggestion of what the overall shape of the build could look like: https://ideas.lego.com/challenges/642ce72d-0872-48ef-a27b-a6bbeecc9027/application/8c7ef540-f6d1-47f1-8dbc-737159f6dc41
  20. Very excited about the Hogsmeade microscale GWP set! It’s such an iconic location that Universal Studios made it the original setting of the Wizarding World theme park. My prediction is that the set will feature the Three Broomsticks, the Hog’s Head Inn, Honeydukes Sweetshop, and the Shrieking Shack. I am hoping the exclusive minifig will be werewolf Lupin, but I would be happy with Madam Rosmerta. I also think this is a good indication that our next D2C set after Diagon Alley will be a minifig-scale Hogsmeade Village...
  21. Guyon, I appreciate your passion for LEGO Harry Potter and the blunt, unapologetic perspective you bring to this forum. However, this comment sums up why I disagree with you so often. You don’t understand how sales and marketing works, but you always speak with such authority on the subject. There is absolutely no way a LEGO Harry Potter polybag, which is designed to be an impulse buy for kids in checkout lines and is probably the only LEGO Harry Potter set most kids can afford, would increase sales ten-fold with an obscure Hufflepuff, Ravenclaw, or even Slytherin student. This is an absolutely adorable set and I can guarantee you all future LEGO Harry Potter polybags will also include Harry Potter. Don’t set yourself up for disappointment.
  22. By confirmed, I only mean that we’ve actually seen the leaked minifig. Tonks hasn’t leaked yet. _kingnono_ says we will be getting “both sides of polyjuice potion, the gang is growing”. Polyjuice is iconically used in COS when Harry, Ron, and Hermione turn into Crabbe, Goyle, and Millicent Bullstrode’s cat. Crabbe and Goyle form Malfoy’s “gang” of bullies. Polyjuice is used a handful of other times in the series, but the characters on “both sides” are only significant in this case (and later when Hermione becomes Bellatrix).
  23. Now that we have established that _kingnono_ is a reliable leaker, I recommend folks take a look back at some his earlier posts, which were roundly dismissed by some of our fellow forum members. Some key takeaways: - Duel in the Ministry w/ Voldemort, Dumbledore, Harry, Fudge, Percy - CMF w/ Rita Skeeter, Prof Lockhart, Igor Karkaroff, Crabbe, Goyle, Sirius Black, James Potter - The Vanishing Cabinet in Bourgin and Bourke’s will be a play feature It’s also worth noting that the only photo _kingnono_ has ever posted is an illustration from the hotly-debated “Magical Search & Find Adventure” book, in which he circled clues to minifigs that we will be getting in this wave: - Arthur & Molly (confirmed) - Ginny - Fred & George - Tonks - Lucius Malfoy - Prof. Lockhart
  24. It was brought up several times after the figure leaked (with the same suggestion about the hair swap), but with all the recent news I can see how you might have missed it.
