  1. This is one of my dream sets… Would it be too much to ask for Galadriel’s swan boat and unique molds for (some of) her gifts to the Fellowship too? (Not sure that I need a new mold for the three strands of hair she gives to Gimli, though it is one of my favorite scenes in the movie). https://i.pinimg.com/originals/f7/9b/4b/f79b4be6e047067f308290a09ca6b16c.jpg https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=NLwmFplNnbM
  2. I know I’m preaching to the choir here, but another argument for bringing LEGO LOTR back now as a full theme would be to set the stage for sets based on next year’s WB / New Line anime feature - War of the Rohirrim. It’s written by Philippa Boyen, narrated by Miranda Otto’s Eowyn, and set in Peter Jackson’s LOTR film world. Alan Lee and John Howe are overseeing the art - this thing has the potential to be a masterpiece and to bring in a new younger generation of LOTR fans. We’ve spoken quite a bit about the Rings of Power series, but not the War of the Rohirrim anime film. I think it could be key to LEGO LOTR’s return... (And our best chance at seeing a LEGO oliphant!) https://variety.com/2022/film/news/lord-of-the-rings-the-war-of-the-rohirrim-release-date-1235181646/ Imagine if we possibly have a D2C Medulseld set in store for us in 2024 to coincide with the release of War of the Rohirrim…
  3. I would be over the moon if we got something like this as the D2C Rivendell set. If it’s a bit more compact, still minifig scale, and includes lots of small pieces for roof tiles and water elements, could this still be a possibility? https://www.instagram.com/p/CnorJKRrVmX/?igshid=MDJmNzVkMjY=
  4. While I would prefer a fully minifig scale build, I think this idea would be a good compromise. I could also see the foreground featuring the gazebo that Aragorn and Arwen stand under when she gives him the Evenstar. Since that location is a bit removed from the Rivendell building, it could work nicely.
  5. This will probably be the most expensive year of LEGO purchases for me too… I know I’ll end up getting all of these new Harry Potter sets (my only hard passes will be Dobby and the Brickheadz), the LOTR Rivendell set (even if it’s microscale, I’m buying it on day one), the LEGO Ideas Hocus Pocus cottage, and the best line-up in LEGO Jurassic history in honor of the film’s 30th anniversary (we’re finally getting a brachiosaurus!). I’ll probably end up getting some of the Disney 100th anniversary sets too. I wish I could buy stock in LEGO. Their profits will be through the roof this year!
  6. Regarding 76414 Expecto Patronum - I’m imagining a kinetic sculpture of Harry’s stag patronus in translucent blue pieces. The movement of it could be quite beautiful if it was designed something like this galloping horse -
  7. I wonder if @bRICKbRAT has any more information to share? Their predictions were unbelievably accurate, so I’m wondering if they have some concrete evidence pointing to the $129.99 76423 set being the Durmstrang ship. I just watched a LEGO YouTuber reference @bRICKbRAT ‘s predictions and theorize that we might be able to take that as confirmation of a forthcoming Durmstrang ship set.
  8. As of this morning, the Gandalf the Grey and Balrog Brickheadz are on Backorder on LEGO Shop At Home. Not sure that I’ve ever seen a Brickheadz set sell out so soon before… Hopefully, this demonstrates demand for the theme to LEGO.
  9. Based on what Promobricks shared, it looks like we are still missing the price for the Knight Bus and the parts count for Gringott’s. And what could the $89.99 set and the $129.99 set be??? My bet is on the Durmstrang ship and either Malfoy Manor or the Lovegood house.
  10. LEGO Harry Potter 2023 (76414) Expecto Patronum $64.99 (754 рс.) (76415) The Battle of Hogwarts $84.99 (730 рс.) (76416) Quidditch Trunk $64.99 (599 рс.) (76417) Gringotts $429.99 (76418) Advent Calendar $44.99 (227 pc.) (76419) Knight Bus ? (2260 pc.) (76421) Dobby the House Elf $39.99 (403 pc.) (76422) ???? $89.99 (834 pc.) (76423) ???? $129.99 (1074 pc.)
  11. Maybe I’m reading into it a bit too much, but the Promobricks teaser features both Luna’s glasses and the Deathly Hallows symbol… Could this be hinting at a Lovegood home set? @krimimimi ‘s suggestion about the Hog’s Head tavern also has me really excited. Imagine it with an Aberforth minifig, the portrait of Ariana, and -finally- the return of the goat! I guess we will find out in less than an hour!
  12. I love this Lovegood house MOC by Brick Surgeon. I imagine LEGO would want to add a bit more color and references to Luna in the interior though.
  13. I could see the Lovegood house working as a set one of two ways - either as an “Ambush at the Lovegood House” set with a death eater or two similar to the “Attack on the Burrow” set OR as a set focused on the “The Tale of the Three Brothers” with a nice build for the Lovegood house, a brick built Death figure, and three all black minifigs each with one of the Deathly Hallows. I’ve been dreaming of this set for ages… It would need to be in the same style / scale as the rest of Diagon Alley for me to be happy with it though. And I wouldn’t be mad if it was part of a more expensive 18+ “Knockturn Alley” set that also included Dystyl Phalanges - the shop that sells skeletons and bones.
  14. Final predictions: Hogwarts: Troll in the Dungeon Hagrid’s Hut: Forbidden Forest Ukranian Ironbelly Escape Quidditch World Cup Durmstrang Ship Malfoy Manor D2C Gringott’s Bank
  15. Ugh 😴 Thanks for clarifying. Glad I didn’t get my hopes up
  16. Any chance the top-secret series (code name TITAN) that has leaked could be LOTR? I’ve seen a lot of speculation on Instagram that these sets could be the much anticipated LOTR sets, but I don’t want to get my hopes up… 71453 - 259 pieces 71454 - 237 pieces 71455 - 274 pieces 71456 - 434 pieces 71457 - 482 pieces 71458 - 494 pieces 71459 - 681 pieces 71460 - 878 pieces 71461 - 1257 pieces 71469 - 1389 pieces
  17. I’ll be ordering all three sets as soon as they’re available. I don’t love the designs if I’m being honest, but I want LEGO to see there is demand for the LOTR theme. I’m looking at it like as an investment in the theme. Almost like a crowdfunding campaign. The more of these that sell, the better the chances that LEGO will invest more into the theme.
  18. I imagine a big Bag End set ($120+) that included Bilbo’s hobbit hole as well as the party set-up and a dragon fireworks build (similar to the fiendfyre build in the upcoming Hogwarts Room of Requirement set). I would much rather have a Bree set with the ringwraiths - the LEGO Ideas submission for the Prancing Pony is just 😘🤌 - but I imagine they would remake / reimagine a few old sets like the Wizarding World did when they relaunched. https://ideas.lego.com/projects/c928192a-50a0-4c4c-90da-5224f92f1937 This would be absolutely amazing… I feel like if they decide to bring the theme back for a few years while Rings of Power is airing, they might follow a similar approach to Harry Potter and have each wave focus (for the most part) on a specific movie. So wave one would be more focused on the Fellowship, etc. I would kill to have Osgiliath and Minas Tirith sets ASAP though… and the Witch King Showdown with Eowyn is a must have.
  19. If we were to get a full wave of LEGO LOTR sets this year or next year, similar to the relaunch of LEGO Harry Potter, I’m curious as to what sets folks think are most likely. Here are some of my predictions of how the first wave of play sets could look: - Bag End - Bilbo’s 111th Birthday - Attack on Weathertop - Gates of Moria - Watcher in the Water - The Balrog - minifig scale kinetic sculpture - Galadriel’s Test - Ambush at Amon Hen - Rings of Power - Arondir vs the Orcs - D2C Rivendell (microscale)
  20. But who is to say that LEGO hasn’t already made a deal with Amazon too? I can’t imagine that their Legal team would allow them to name drop the Rings of Power in LEGO marketing materials if some kind of arrangement wasn’t already in place… I agree that the upcoming Rivendell set will probably not include any Rings of Power minifigs. My point is more general about the fact that the show is mentioned by name in LEGO’s marketing and if we have any hopes of the LOTR series coming back in full force, the five seasons of Rings of Power present a good opportunity for that to happen. This is what we predicted would happen on the Wizarding World forum a few years back when the Rings of Power series was announced. That this could be the moment LEGO LOTR returns… and look where we are today. I think it’s very likely that we will see some tie-ins if the series fully relaunches - even if it’s just a set or two per wave.
  21. This is incredibly promising to me. Regardless of how folks feel about the Rings of Power (I personally think it’s magnificent), the fact that the new tv show is mentioned by name in LEGO’s marketing is a really good sign. The Rings of Power has already been bankrolled for FIVE seasons, which means we could potentially be looking at LEGO Lord of the Rings sets for the next five years. I imagine a strategy similar to the Wizarding World relaunch, where the bulk of the sets focus on the original content (Harry Potter, LoTR), with one or two sets from the new content (Fantastic Beasts, Rings of Power) sprinkled in, may already be in the works. Say what you will about the new show, but I would not be unhappy to get a LEGO set with Galadriel on horseback as Commander of the Northern Armies slaughtering orcs in the shadow of Mordor. Or imagine a set based on the Rings of Powers’ depiction of the War of Wrath in episode 1! And if it’s just one or two sets among a wave of Fellowship of the Ring sets like @Lordhelmet just described, count me in.
  22. This is interesting! I’m updating my expectations for 76414 with this info. My only thought is that most folks would hope to display the Ukrainian Ironbelly atop Gringott’s and the design of the current kinetic sculptures doesn’t allow for much (any) posability. If the D2C is in fact Gringott’s as the piece count might suggest, does anyone think we will be getting a Ukrainian Ironbelly in the D2C? Or would it really have to be a separate set to be done right?
  23. Happy Christmas everyone. So here’s what we know about the LEGO Harry Potter - Summer 2023 wave according to the leaks: 76414 - $64.99 - 754 pieces 76415 - $79.99 - 730 pieces 76416 - $64.99 - 599 pieces 76418 - $???? - 227 pieces - Advent Calendar 76419 - $???? - 2660 pieces - D2C 76421 - $???? - 403 pieces 76422 - $89.99 - ??? pieces 76423 - $129.99 - ??? pieces Did I get that right? I heard something about a second D2C set as well… Based on what’s been confirmed by trusted leakers above, here are my predictions. Would love to hear what other folks are thinking too. 76414 - $64.99 - 754 pieces Hogwarts - Defense Against the Dark Arts w/ Lockhart, Dragon Skeleton, and Cornish Pixies 76415 - $79.99 - 730 pieces Quidditch World Cup w/ Weasley Tent, Death Eaters, International Quidditch Players 76416 - $64.99 - 599 pieces Hagrid’s Hut - Detention in the Enchanted Forest w/ Moleskin Coat Hagrid, Fang, Unicorn 76418 - $???? - 227 pieces Advent Calendar 76419 - $???? - 2660 pieces D2C Diagon Alley - Gringott’s Bank 76421 - $???? - 403 pieces Hogwarts - Troll in the Dungeon w/ new Mountain Troll Mold 76422 - $89.99 - ??? pieces Malfoy Manor w/ Dining Room and Dungeon 76423 - $129.99 - ??? pieces Durmstrang Ship w/ Giant Squid Love this list. Now that a licensed CMF series has been confirmed for next year, maybe there is a chance we could get Wizarding World 3. I think LEGO would be smart to treat next year’s release of Hogwarts Legacy as a bigger moment for the franchise’s popularity than the Fantastic Beasts movies. One group of characters I would add to the list of potential CMF 3 figures would be new minifigs of the Founders - Godric Gryffindor, Salazar Slytherin, Rowena Racenclaw, and Helga Hufflepuff - with new molds for their horcruxes.
  24. Has anyone else noticed that LEGO appears to be incorporating popular MOC set ideas into their set lineups? The moving Hogwarts staircase set (similar to the MOC by @ericklaw that went viral last year) that was released this summer is a good example. Same with the Grimmauld Place set. Are there any good examples of LOTR MOCs that LEGO might look to for set inspirations? The only LEGO LOTR builder I follow is @jonaskramm and he is amazing https://www.instagram.com/p/Ce3xSDVI8ai/?igshid=MDJmNzVkMjY=
  25. Yes. Yes. YES. I never knew how badly I needed these minifigs in my life. A Battle of the Last Alliance set in front of the Black Gate would be incredible… Gil Galad, Elrond and the Noldorin warriors, Elendil, Isildur and the Numenorean soldiers, SAURON, Mordor Orcs and a troll, Eagles and Fell Beasts… Just take my money. “Take it. You must take it. I’m giving it to you!”
