  1. That's great and has a lot of classic atmosphere!
  2. @Robert8, that's amazing! Why don't you apply at TLG as a designer? I would definitely go for the Archaeologist, the Monster Bride, the Physicist, the Gunslinger and the Storyteller.
  3. When it now seems to be a fact that the Monkey King from CMF 19 was a kind of teaser for the new "Monkey Kid"-theme, can we hope that the new Johnny Thunder from CMF 19 is a teaser for a revival of the classic "Adventurers"-theme?
  4. PS: I am aware that this is far away from modern MOCing but I like the classic style from the pre-2000 years as I am a child of the 1980's. I try to catch this old but classic atmosphere.
  5. @Harkonen, thank you very much!
  6. Patric uses his motorbike for his way through the desert.
  7. My order arrived yesterday, but ... I had ordered minifig-legs in dark red (ID 4541496) twice which both have the right leg darker then the hips and the left leg. I have sent an e-mail to TLG's customer service and asked for a solution.
  8. I would like to introduce Patric O'Leary, an Irish friend of Johnny Thunder, whom he met during WW I at the Palestinian front (torso with yellow hands and head; I think the sunglasses are very helpful in the bright sun of the desert). Patric studies a map of the Holy Land - only he knows what his quest goes for ...
  9. Johnny Thunder and Miss Gail Storm - classic version from the jungle-subtheme and modern version (Johnny Thunder's torso and head from CMF 19 and Gail Storm's torso from 60267, pith helmet from CMF 13 and head). classic by Seriea Polla, auf Flickr modern by Seriea Polla, auf Flickr
  10. I agree - it's speculation and it's fun. Some more thoughts: She speaks of "spent for an adult", not "spent for or by an AFOL". "Adult" might also include "non-AFOLs", so the 10 %-quota refers to AFOLs and non-AFOLs, which means that on the one hand the AFOL-quota might be less than 10 %. On the other hand I speculate that the 10 %-quota might be too low for the Chinese or even the Asian market. I could imagine that LEGO is bought in China and the rest of Asia more often by adults for themselves as a kind of a status symbol because it's an European product. I think that 1,000 USD/EUR p.a. might be too low for an average AFOL. According to this site 1,000 EUR in 2009 are about 1,145 EUR nowadays. But even this feels as if it might be too low. But I have no idea how to get a more precise figure. But after all, a number between 500,000 and 1,000,000 AFOLs worldwide seems not too bad. Pure speculation ...
  11. I repeat myself: I don't know if the "10 % ratio" is applicable to other countries. That's why I would be careful in applying this ratio to the worldwide revenue.
  12. Invoice arrived today (I don't buy per creditcard or papal). Seems LEGO is working on Saturdays as January 25th was a Saturday ...
  13. You're very welcome. Didn't want to insult you, but just being precise.
  14. I think she talks about sales, turnover or revenue, not about profit: "Jeder 10. Euro für LEGO Produkte wurde für einen Erwachsenen ausgegeben." In the end, it might be the same result as 10 % are 10 % no matter if before or after costs. And I think she speaks about Germany resp. the German market only. https://twitter.com/Zusammengebaut/status/1222145653578616834/photo/1
  15. The top left hand corner photo is just great: the famous 6067 Guarded Inn (which I wanted so much but never got) and one of the last sets I got before my dark ages began, the 6055 Prisoner Convoy. I remember them well - I spent all my allowance on them.
  16. I placed an order on January 15th that was marked "shipped" on January 25th.
  17. Don't know. Haven't seen it on the shelves yet. It is only featured in the "mix" on page 2 - lower right corner.
  18. I like them because they give buildings a unique shape. They add kind of a landscape.
  19. I personally prefer the monkey. I think it offers more playabiliy.
  20. I especially like the second one. That‘s a great buggy!
  21. Star Wars stuff ...
  22. The torso is available now on B&P. I have ordered two ...
  23. I have checked the instructions - I think brackets won't work because they would be sitting too high so that the minifigs wouldn't have place. My "new" idea is replacing the two white 1x2 inverted slopes at the rear end of the front wheels by a modified brick, which has to hold the tile with the safari pattern which forms the side of the driver's cabin. Not sure though if this works ...
  24. Lucky you! The set isn't even on the shelves of my local toy store. Thanks for the hint. These 2x2 brackets seem of better use than the ones I thought of. I think so, too. And set 6672 is a kind of remake of set 699. Yes, these long bricks used for the interior are annoying me. Well, I don't like them either, but I can live with them - as we don't have any choice.
