Big Ben Bricks XL drivers derailing on switches?
Thai bricks replied to Phil B's topic in LEGO Train Tech
Can you increase the gauge of the drivers, or are you on the limit? -
Thanks for the links. I have saved a couple of the files, just in case. At this point I have no plans to buy a 3D printer, but there are community printing services around and I might give them a try. Here in Thailand I don't believe libraries have printers. At the same time, shipping from any of the existing services is prohibitive.

Sorry, that link is still tripping up the forum s/w. You have to click the paging buttons to see my entire post.

There is also a version in G gauge by LGB (owned by Maerklin now): Starter set They also sell the wagon base only. Purists beware!

I'm using a similar battery, but with inbuilt micro-USB connection. All the protection circuitry is built-in, but the capacity is obviously a little less, 650 mAh. The battery doesn't need to be removed for charging in my little Koef 2 shunter.

40 years of Grey Era LEGO trains ... celebrating with some 12V MOCs
Thai bricks replied to HoMa's topic in LEGO Train Tech
Patrick, I think Homa had this German version in mind: https://images.app.goo.gl/Z4L4fH3sNZBJWM3m9 -
@HRBuildNStuf Onedrive says the items don't exist... Have you moved or deleted your pictures?

I love how you did the rounded front on the engine. It looks and rolls great.

As long as you don't try to run the 9V loco in the same circuit as a 12V loco you should be good. At 9V it will already fly out of every corner, so you would not want to power it up further. That assumes no young children run it...

I'm glad you solved it so easily. Track cleaning is a chore all track power rail enthusiasts have to deal with. That's why the Dead Rail Society exists. ;)

2-axle locos stalling on switches is a problem most model railway fans are familiar with. I suggest first checking the switches for corrosion, failing that adding another pair of power pickups to the loco. This won't be easy and you will need to hack some non-lego parts. I think there is a topic or two here on EB on how it's done.

Does it stall on all your points in the same spot, or just the one?

Try changing the "Grid snapping step", 7th button from the right in the tool bar.

I have never used monorail, but I noticed that there is a right and a left short curve. You need to alternate them to get a continuous curve. The quarter curve is symmetrical and will rotate correctly. @zephyr1934That is the intention, but without help I doubt it will happen. My school maths eludes me now and the connection points aren't quite where they are supposed to be.

I'm trying to create the pieces for 4DBrix track, but it doesn't quite come out the way it should. Where can I ask questions about this? Thanks, Peter.

Yes, you must create a text layer. Only when this layer is active can you create and edit text anywhere. If you find this difficult I strongly recommend you watch the tutorial videos. I did just yesterday and they make everything so much clearer.
