  1. I don’t read this forum much so apologies if I’m repeating anyone else’s ideas: Fly fisherman: Printing of high olive green waders olive green recolour of scarecrow hat with pin hole. content beardy facial expression with straw in the mouth dark green toolbox with fish lure printed on the side fishing rod in black Final accessory: new mould for a standing European Herron. Like the flamingo it can function as the real bird or a plastic garden ornament used to protect a pond.
  2. Those were some of my favourite figures of all time! I have the Minotaur, Medusa, Cyclopes, Poseidon and the warrior goddess, I have made the rest of the main 12 with other parts such as the Roman emperor but wish they had continued making gods and lesser known monsters. The centaur is nice but I wish it was more monstrous/beasty looking with torso and head which matched the colour of the centaur body, pointy ears etc I have another idea for an awesome figure: The Kraken: updated fish tail from vidiyo existing Garmadon body parts Atlantis lobster guardian claws on all 4 hands new fierce monster head mould with roaring open mouth. Or the squid drummer head with different printing Whole figure in olive green top to bottom with printing for the body muscles and scales etc on the belly flowing through each segment. It’s inspired by the Ray Harryhausen version but more scary and more modern looking especially in the head
  3. I just visited the Tutankhamun exhibit in Dorchester, England, it’s very good and gave me inspiration for another figure. We have had mummy’s before but we could have a less ‘scoobydoo’ version: Tutankhamun statue, based on the real mummy and gold sarcophagus as it was fully decorated: Updated golden headdress/mask with the vulture & snake heads at the top of the forehead. Printed front and back for the glass stripes. It is Moulded in gold plastic. Accessories in hand: Shepard's crook and flail in pearl gold Body, head and legs parts are all pearl gold with printing detailing the decorations, jewellery etc. the face is printed to integrate with the headdress to look like the golden mask. new mould: Egyptian braided beard piece which fits under the head like a normal beard. one more accessory of there was budget: Anubis shrine statue: new mould of a stylised jackal lying down: moulded in black with gold details.
  4. It’s £19.99 now at smythToys superstore, they have lots of other Lego discounts too, it’s a good deal I think for 7 different figures with printing I do most of my Lego shopping there and John Lewis to try keep the them going since Toys R Us are no longer with us, it’s nice to see things on the shelf in person
  5. I hope they do more sets from the first movie, I really want a Hammerhead Titanothere to complete the big animals. They could pack it in with a Sturmbeest and some mercenaries to trample over, or make It a more peaceful scene such as Grace & Jake’s first encounter. The scenery build would then be the giant tube worms. I think the existing legs made for the Black Panther rhino would work well for it in a new colour
  6. For CMF figures I have a few historical and real life figures I would like to see: Charles Darwin tribute figure: bald cap, white Gandalf beard, book with new print with printed tile with his first tree of life sketch ‘I think’ notes. Comes with a new mould for a pet tortoise. Terracotta warrior: new mould for the hair tied up, comes with a long sward, bow and quiver and printed samurai armoured chest place. The entire figure and accessories are coloured in the same dark tan with printing picking out the fine details and adding weathering etc. the mixed weapons means you can change what kind of soldier it is. Mary Anning tribute figure: printed dress slope, new mould for the hair/hat to look like her portrait. Small basket in brick yellow, 2x2 round plate with fossil ammonite print, hammer. Her dog also if there is budget. Venus de milo: new moulds for the arms cut off at the elbow, printed dress slope, brick to stand on. Figure is monochrome white in colour but with detailed printing for the dress etc and shadows on the body, the face etc First Chinese emperor: detailed printed body and dress slope, new mould for the hat/hair. Comes with a tile with a print of a decorative dragon carving. Greek god Apollo: comes with a new mould for a lyre, elvish bow and quiver in gold.
  7. All 4 sets reduced in the U.K. right now in SmythToys: AMP suit down to 28 from 40 First flight down to 30 from 50 Floating mountains down to 64 from 90 Tree of souls down to 100 from 130
  8. I think brick yellow would suit the hare too, it’s a common natural colour Also yes to brown rabbits, more variety please! Nice idea! Reddish Brown with no printed eyes would looks brilliant in a sweet shop 😊 They could do a pearl gold one too for when it’s wrapped in foil
  9. Futurama is probably my favourite cartoon of all time, next to Avatar the last Airbender, so I would love collect it in Lego form! I think a single CMF series would suit the theme well, you would need new moulds for Bender and Zoidberg at least, I can imagine them doing new moulded heads for everyone like the Simpsons Series or do instead as they did with Scoobydoo and just make new hair, I’m not sure which is best in this case…. The 12 figure limit covers the main PE crew and other primary characters well with no big omissions: Philip J. Fry Turanga Leela Bender Professor Farnsworth Amy Wong Hermes Conrad Zoidberg Cubert Farnsworth Nibbler Kif Kroker Zapp Brannigan Carol "Mom" and if it was still 16 figures I would have added: Dwight Conrad Calculon Robot Devil Lrrr Of course then we could also have the Planet Express ship and/or headquarters building as a D2C with an exclusive figure Scruffy (like Snake in the Kwik E Mart)
  10. There is a new mould of a shooting bow and arrow introduced with the latest wave of Avatar sets. The bow design itself is not license specific and matches the design of the existing elvish bow, so does anyone else think they invested in this mould with Legolas in mind for the future?
  11. The big sub is quite large compared to the scale shown in the concept art, seems like there is lots of wasted space in the main body? I’m surprised they didn’t fit in a storage space at least with some tools The way it’s mounted at an angle reminds me of the first Lego ideas set ever 😅
  12. The sets look beautiful, lots of new moulded heads again & they look amazing! I’m impressed that they printed the red detail on both sides of both horns of the whale creature, and it’s got 3 new moulds for its mouth! Figures are excellently detailed with some new wigs too, I see the child Na’vi are the same height as adult humans. These sets do look to me like they were all based on final concept designs: each one is a new creature or sub + figures, none of them are battle scenes or other story events but it’s fine actually and the sets stand up regardless. the beauty of the animals is a big selling point and they capture them all in full. I didn’t realise the flying fish/barracuda/gharial was so massive! Love the new stingray and purple carrots and other parts used for the sea life too
  13. I agree with the comments above, The builds for this years AC are the wrong sort for this theme, they might entertain for 5 mins on the day but then they are useless in context for the rest of your collection. I feel sorry for kids this year building that black archway with a few trans studs in it for one of the days gift, it’s perhaps even more boring than the flagpoles form 2019. Micro builds for Starwars work because a: there is so much covered in the system sets already we hardly need the AC to fill any gaps, and b: so many of them are ‘swooshable’ vehicles etc which are more fun to play with than a micro building. The Harry Potter sets follow a ‘dollhouse’ style toyline, therefore ACs should compliment this: more figures in new outfits like party dresses and other clothes not made yet, characters which did not make the cut in the main sets (Cormac for example), and things like furniture, statues, magical macguffins of which HP has loads, chocolate frog cards and extra owls (other than hedwig) and magical creatures like pixies and the niffler etc. I wish I could design an Advent Calander, as I have so many ideas: Year 6 & Slug Club based calendar with young variants of Tom Riddle, Slughorn, Cormac in Quidditch keeper outfit, Gambon Dumbledore with a grey hand etc Year 3/7 Hogsmeade calendar with Aberforth as an exclusive and extra builds for the Hogsmeade shops and scenery including a Hogs Head signpost Year 5 OotP calendar with Christmas Arthur and a Death Eater Lucius, an extra Sirius from the GP set, some of the missing fountain statue and other bits to expand the ministry set. Year 7 Bills wedding AC with Aunt Muriel, Aphelios Doge, Rufus Scrimgeour as exclusives using a mix of existing face prints and new torsos and calamity drone hair & hat recoloured for Muriel. Builds include wedding cake, a new print of Dumbledore’s will, The minister’s suitcase with snitch, story book, Deluminator etc, 3 day build of the Forest/World Cup tent which hinges open, a radio, table, bed, etc for the interior of it.
  14. They could also do a PS forest set with a new Hagrid, Fang, centaur, cloaked Quirrel & Harry, and perhaps if they are brave enough a new unicorn running away from a few GITD tiles on the floor. It would be a fantastic parts pack with figures you can use to fill out other scenes, I really want a new colour/print of the Hagrid figure for his moleskin coat. Also I wish they would use new pints budgets in books, Advent calandras and packs etc to give use more versions of Lockheart! His wardrobe is a rainbow spectrum and so far we only have 2 both in expensive sets. Maybe there will be a DAtDA Tower set in the future similar size to the Dumbledore office this year, that could have lots of potential…
  15. I have a wish-list for a single CMF series and accompanying wave of regular sets if anyone is interested while we wait. I designed them to appeal to new and old collectors, and to compliment each other.
  16. Awesome! I snapped up a few brown flying owls for Hogwarts and enough of the hare to finally complete my Radagast sled!! Also the black skirt pice and matching grey socks on short legs to update female students.
  17. A D2C Rivendell would be beautiful I’m sure, and could include the entire fellowship, white counsel and other desired figures like old Bilbo I don’t think I would purchase it myself though as I already have the old small set and have no place to display something so expansive, I would love to see it built at the Lego store however just to appreciate it. I just hope it’s not a giant bust of Sauron that dwarfs the Black Panther one 😅
  18. I accidentally purchased a duplo guitar once, I thought it was a new print of the system one. It was quite a surprise when it arrived in the bag of regular size bricks
  19. I have hopes for a wave of system sets too (don’t we all!) I think they could tribute the theme and fill in all the biggest gaps from the original run with one solid wave of about 4-5 sets of new creatures and locations and a single CMF series of 12. Then if sales are good they can do remakes of the old line in the subsequent year. I just had the idea of a brick built Fellbeast set in the style of the flapping Hedwig & Horntail dragon sets from Harry Potter: large fabric wings, the new creature tail and curved neck in black, on the base stand is Gollum, Frodo & Sam under a bush, that would look so cool!
  20. They are in John Lewis now too :) I have also seen other Avatar non-Lego merchandise in smythToys for the first time too, interestingly they are also doing as Lego has done: making packs of figures, creatures and scenery based on the first movie
  21. I would bet it’s Minas Tirith; a big Minifigure play set. It’s the best choice I think for a D2C: -it’s instantly recognisable as a LotR city location, great for shop windows and magazine covers, starts the theme resurgence with a bang. -it’s visually distinct from the other large castle set on the market (different colour and shape) as well as any other castle they have made before. -the physical shape lends itself to a ‘dollhouse’ structure with an open back with rooms inside - it’s a fan favourite and long desired by those who collected the original range, so it’s going to be popular with new collectors and old, much better than remaking something we already got before. -there would naturally be lots of different Minifigures including some named characters which have not been made yet -it can work as a display model like a supersize architecture build and also as a playable set with working catapults, opening front gate, interior rooms for posing figures etc -the set doesn’t need necessarily any new elements other than a Gondor helmet, and not many recolours either I imagine or even stickers (nothing like as many as Diagon Alley). So we could end up with great value for money with a high bulk of simple common white bricks subsidising some well detailed figures, and if we are very lucky: a recolour of the troll! Im still impressed with this old ideas set, it’s vey well balanced between accuracy and economy, realistic for a boxed set. I can imagine a €500 version being even bigger and more detailed. https://ideas.lego.com/projects/c8ea2aec-39a3-426e-9951-8fee9a759e67/comments_tab The city in the film has 7 layers I think, I think they can simplify it and do just 5 and furthermore two of them being faux: just make the middle wall modules stepped on the outside and covered with micro buildings with some forced perspective going on. The interior then is Minifigure scaled; same technique as the Disney castle or the 2018-2020 Hogwarts system sets, or big ships like Star Destroyers etc
  22. I just saw the sets on store shelves for the first time here in the U.K., at a SmythToys in london
  23. I think a CMF series would go down well to fill in some of the gaps form the original line and give new fans a chance to get main characters which may not be in the D2C itself (hopefully the white city) The Balrog (new moulded head), Treebeard (although I have built my own which I’m very happy with) Gondor battle pack, and a fell beast (either brick built or moulded like the vidoe game version in a larger set) are my top pics for sets.
  24. I’m already invested in Harry Potter, but the Lord of the Rings & Hobbit theme took me out my dark ages 10 years ago and I still have my old MOC’s In the cupboard, if the D2C is true and Minifigure scale and for example the white city then it might be the first D2C I have ever purchased!
