Harry Potter 2021 - Rumors & Discussion

Pictures of the Hermione Study Desk polybag have dropped. Looks okay. Think the 1x2 print for the book was one of the newer ones from the Hogwarts moments sets. https://www.bricksup.co.uk/post/lego-harry-potter-30392-hermione-s-study-desk-polybag-officially-revealed -

There's a few characters I really think Lego should include either in a cmf series or sets. - Igor Karkaroff - Rita Skeeter - Aberforth Dumbledore - Narcissa Malfoy - Katie Bell - Cormac McClaggen - Blaise Zabini And a set idea I have in mind is a Bill and Fleur's wedding set. With the gazebo/tent that could connect to the Burrow set but also work on its own. Obviously it'd include Bill and Fleur. And then probably Harry, maybe Xenophilius Lovegood and Elphias Doge. -

Ooh nice. I don't have any of the wand boxes which I think was a nice new piece. Maybe I judged the AC too hastily because basically nothing in the set is Christmas related. -

Yeah, I think either the French circus or ministry or Newt's basement would make for a great set. I thought it was weird that the 2nd film set up the baby nifflers with Newt taking them with him then they don't appear again. I think if Lego were to do the baby nifflers they'd have to just recolour the existing piece as idk how they could make them smaller. -

I wasn't sure if you meant an actual suitcase or the Lego Newt Scamander's suitcase set at first. 😆 Speaking of which, I am curious to see if we get anymore Fantastic Beasts sets in the near future. I have the Thestral Carriage set, and the dimensions MACUSA set and they both have fab builds, and I wish I got the suitcase back when it was available. I'm hoping we do and we can get other creatures like the Mooncalfs or the Zouwu. -

Finally succumbed to the temptation of buying the Magical Treasury Book with the exclusive Tom Riddle for £10. I don't know how much I'll get out of the book, but the minifigure is very nice. Would've liked a second face print. I really should invest in a display case for my minifigures. (unfortunately couldnt add a pic of the minifig, file was too big) -

Just popped into a 'The Works Shop' and they do have the magical treasury book with the exclusive Tom Riddle for £10. Is it worth it?? I'm tempted to get it. -

Just thought I'd mention to anyone from the UK, currently on Amazon the Hedwig set is reduced from £34.99 to £25.99, but of a bargain. -

I'm still a bit torn on the idea of a Shrieking Shack set, I would say that since we only really see one room in it that to get a full house build seems a bit much. Although despite only seeing the set for a little bit it's still quite memorable: the dusty four poster beds one Ron is on, the other Snape gets blasted into, the piano that Sirius puts Peter on, and of course the set for the film swaying a little. I'm not sure how they could incorporate this though, maybe they could have the whole base of the build on some rails? I guess you could also have a play function with dropping the Scabbers mold (they should bring back the bald patch print from the cmf) into something, turning a gear and out comes Peter Pettigrew. Also, yes it would be the only way to get a new Werewolf Lupin which is something I really want to see. And a dog version of Sirius would be nice too. The other characters though (Sirius, Harry, Ron, Hermione) we've kinda had all their outfits from the last third of PoA before. -

I just got a bricks and pieces order, which I accidentally ordered two head pieces of Amelia Earhart. I think it'd maybe be a good face for Narcissa Malfoy. Tbh though the original Narcissa Malfoy minifigure is pretty much perfect, so I wouldn't mind if it was just an updated version of that. -

I haven't got I don't have the set and I'm probably not going to. The build looks tiny, the problem with the latest sets are they aren't deep enough, which means we only got half of the sink and bathroom. Also I think the kind of frame around it makes it feel really boxed it so while it looks good in the expensive Chamber of Secrets set, it doesn't work well as a display piece on its own. -

I think one of the major problems I have with this Advent Calender is that it has nothing to do with Christmas. Harry's visits Diagon Alley with Hagrid on his birthday in July, the rest of the time he's at Privet Drive until he goes to Hogwarts in September. And the unsorted robes (which tbh look okay) signify that that's also from September. They could've done Christmas at Grimmauld Place from OotP, or Christmas at the Burrow in HBP but instead they go with this. -

The advent calender. After hearing it was all Philosopher's Stone based my hopes weren't high, but yikes. Every little bit seems to just be random parts thrown together. A bit of Privet Drive, a bit of the Leaky Cauldron, a bit of Gringotts, a bit of Plaform 9 and 3/4. I'm going I can get some of the nice prints off bricks and pieces like the Leaky Cauldron sign and the cake, because I'm not going to bother buying the set. It really doesn't feel like a set on it's own, just little parts that would add onto sets, however even that doesn't work as we've already had the road sign and fireplace in the Privet Drive set. The minifigures are okay, but nothing special. I feel sorry for anyone who got Diagon Alley for the Harry Minifigure. I hope Dudley at least has a printed tail on the back of his torso. -

The only sets I might be picking up are The Flying Lesson, as it's affordable and I think it looks good on it's own (unlike Myrtle's bathroom or the third floor corridor), plus it'd probably go well with the other sets I own, I particularly like the exterior and interior being fleshed out. The other set I might pick up is Fawkes, I didn't love the look of Hedwig (wasn't sure about how the eyes turned out) but I think Fawkes looks fantastic, the bright colours, the golden perch and a nice exclusive Dumbledore. -

The only reason I'd want to live in America right now is because you have shops like Target where Lego can just turn up. -

Ah, I think you're right there. Well maybe a dark orange or brown print colour could work. I'm happy that we've got the acid pops jar in the Hogsmeade set, and the cereal boxes in the Chamber of Secrets. I wonder if we'll get a bottle with Butterbeer on it, or the Skelegrow bottle in the future. I was hoping that the Hogsmeade set might have had a 1x1 brick with a Bertie Bott print on it, then topped with a little pyramid piece. -

Just a random little thing I thought of that I'd like to see in a set is the pie piece but with a middle section in trans orange to look like a treacle tart. -

Haha, I didn't think of that. I think Ron would've known in that case. Does it strike anyone else as odd that Ron has hundreds of chocolate frog cards when the Weasley's are meant to be poor? -

Well I ordered some stuff off Bricks and Pieces. In the end nothing from any HP sets, but I got some pieces from an Xtras set to make streetlamps to go with the knight bus/privet drive. (and I got the pieces to make Eleven from Stranger Things and Emilia Earhart.) -

I'm kind of against Nicolas Flamel being one of the chocolate frog cards because part of Philosopher's Stone is Harry only seeing his name on Dumbledore's card and that's the only place they can find information on him I'm having a look on Bricks and Pieces (UK) and here's some pieces you might want to know are available: McGonnagals hair/hat piece Snapes hair Charms moment book: Flitwick's torso, Chos torso, and one of the book pieces. Burrow set: Arthur's torso, fenrie's torso. Dementor 'leg' piece Cornelius Fudge's head Centaur hair -

Interesting info that I've missed. So it's not Scrimgeour it's Mr Borgin. Well that does make more sense and fits into the Diagon Alley theme much better. Idk if the figure really looks like him though. But as someone who's a fan of the Chamber of Secrets and its deleted scenes I'm happy he's getting a minifigure. Now I just hope we see Ernie MacMillan in a set/pack. -

I think whoever Jocunda Sykes is is a very odd inclusion. If anyone's wondering here are the cards mentioned in Philosopher's Stone: - Dumbledore - Agrippa - Ptolemy - Morgana - Hengist of Woodcroft - Alberic Grunnion - Circe - Paracelsus - Merlin - Cliodna I'm surprised they didn't go with Agrippa, Ptolemy or Morgana instead of Sykes. -

Oh and supposedly: - Viktor Krum - Vasily Dimitrov - Alexei Levski - Ivan Volkov (some of the Burgarian Quidditch Team) are also on chocolate frog cards. Here's the list I was looking from: https://harrypotter.fandom.com/wiki/Chocolate_Frog_Card -

I was looking over the Harry Potter wiki to see what it says all the Chocolate cards are so here's a list of all the characters who I remember are canonical to the 7 books, in that they appear or are referenced, who supposedly are on chocolate frog cards: - Cornelius Agrippa, Morgana and Ptolemy. (canonical cards, Ron talks about having their cards in PS) - Adalbert Waffling, Cassandra Vablatsky, Miranda Goshawk, Newt Scamander. (Authors of Harry's schoolbooks) - Gregory the Smarmy, Ulric the Oddball. (Paintings in Hogwarts) - Armando Dippet. (Prior Headmasters of Hogwarts) - Wendelin the Weird. (in a book on Witch burnings) - Celestina Warbeck. (Molly Weasley's favourite singer) - Gwenog Jones. (Captain of the Holy-head Harpies) Those are all the names I think that are in the books. However Herpo the Foul who created Basilisks was apparently mentioned in the Fantastic Beasts book. I'm also surprised that Beetle the Bard didn't appear as well as Bathilda Bagshot.(considering she wrote A History of Magic and Hogwarts a History) -

Found this minifigure from the Hidden Side line the head is in trans yellow with orange printing. I think this with some orange and black printing would work great for a firery version of Sirius.
