Wizarding World 2022 - Rumors & Discussion

For how expensive the Hogwarts Express is rumoured to be, I'm expecting: - Motorised with plenty of track, one thing about the last train I thought was disappointing was that there was no track to put the train on - Hogsmeade Station: Doesn't have to be massive, would be cool if its based off the one in the Lego HP video games - Plenty of Carriages: Would love if one of the compartment door windows has a sticker of the heart Lavender draws on in HBP (which is also in the actual train in the making of HP studio tour) - Good variety of minifigures. I mean there's obviously going to be Harry, Ron, Hermione and probably the trolley witch. But he's a few figures it'd be cool to get: Cormac McClaggen, Katie Bell, Blaise Zabini, Ginny (with Arnold the Pygmy-puff) -

So in my local Lego shop, in the build a minifigure & minifigure factory I found the straggly Hair/hat piece used for the Diagon Alley photographer, but with the hat dark green and the hair a darker grey. Looking on Brickset & Bricklink I've found that this colour version has only been released as part of the build a minifigure stations in Lego shops. I was thinking I wonder if we'll see this piece in this green colouration for any HP sets. I think this piece could work easily on a random Ministry worker. Since I can't seem to attach a picture of the piece, I've linked to the part on Bricklink: https://www.bricklink.com/v2/catalog/catalogitem.page?P=20606pb05&name=Minifigure, Hair Combo, Hair with Hat, Mid-Length Scraggly with Dark Green Floppy Witch Hat Pattern (BAM)&category=[Minifigure, Hair]#T=C&C=85 -

Well I'm glad you liked it, personally I think it's about on par with 2. Has some good acting, music effects etc but the plot and especially the way it was put together was a bit of a mess for me. -

Saw Fantastic Beasts: the secrets of Dumbledore earlier today. No spoilers obviously, I can see why Lego wouldn't really make a set off of it though. But, I still wish we could have gotten Theseus Scamander and Younger Albus Dumbledore as minifigures. -

She's not even a Professor (which is an honorary title anyway in the Wizarding eg. Hagrid) she's just Madam Pince the librarian. Interesting how Madam Hooch also doesn't get the title of Professor, probably because she only seems to teach first years basic flying, and the only other thing she does is referee Quidditch matches. -

Man you're missing out on a ton of great stuff from the books if you've only seen the films. But yeah, if Pince and Sinistra were actually mentioned by name in the film I wouldn't mind as much, as it is I think there's loads of other characters I'd rather Lego make. -

Yeah I guess so, I think I might just have a thing about the HP sets and where they put there focus. Since I didn't play the early video games my memory of characters like Pince, Fortescue etc draws more from the books/Stephen Fry's audio books. Like I don't think the books even tell you the gender of Professor Vector & Sinistra, so I don't always correlate a background character to a name. It's like how Prisoner of Azkaban the choir master wasn't meant to be Flitwick, but since the original bearded Flitwick didn't appear in the film, and Warwick Davis played both characters, it just ended up that Flitwick now looked very different and was the choir master. -

As nicely designed as Madam Pince is. I still think it's weird Lego made her, Florean Fortescue and Professor Sinistra. Like none of them are named in the films, or have any dialogue. Here are some characters we still haven't gotten: Bill Weasley, Rita Skeeter, Igor Karkaroff, Lee Jordan, Katie Bell, Angelina Johnson, Cormac McClaggen, Blaise Zabini, Pansy Parkinson, Barty Crouch Senior, Narcissa Malfoy, Aberforth Dumbledore, Elphias Doge, Xenophilius Lovegood, Aunt Marge, Arabella Figg & Mundungus Fletcher. Yeah, I know some are only in later books/films and some might be hard to put in sets, but I think Lego could do something a bit different now and then. -

Dumbledore's Office. Because it's got a little bit of the library where Harry sneaks around to find a book on Nicolas Flamel, in Lego's trailer for the set on facebook it showed there's a print one of the books of the scary face that comes out at him. This is also why they're including Madam Pince as despite her not having a speaking role in the film, in the book we know she's the librarian -

Cool details I noticed in each set: 12 Grimmauld Place: - The grand piano Hermione teaches Ron how to play in Deathly Hallows - Fred/George using the extendable ears despite minifigure's don't have ears - Tonks has pink & dark red hair pieces and a face print with a pig nose - Black family Tapestry (had to be included) Ministry of Magic: - White triangular sign pieces for Interdepartmental memos - 1x1 round tile of Riddle's locket - Blue trans cat for Umbridge's patronus - Weasley's Decoy Detonator's - Arthur's office has a rubber duck (chamber of secrets quote) - Window blocked up with newspapers (from when Yaxley magics them off him) Shrieking Shack: - Obviously there's the secret passageway from Whomping Willow to the Shack - Grand piano in the upstairs room (that 'scabbers' runs along) - New dog printing for Sirius' animagus form Dumbledore's Office: - Griffin statue sticker/print, that is the entrance way to Dumbledore's office - New Mrs Norris print on the cat, with the red eyes - Madam Pince as a minifig for the first time, with a new hair/hat piece - New colouring of the baby bird piece to look like a reborn Fawkes - Print of the scary face in the book Harry looks at in the restricted section -

Completely missed the Shrieking Shack set. Looks nicely built though, still a shame they haven't had the bald patch print on Scabbers outside the cmf. Dog Sirius looks a bit scrawny. Werewolf Lupin is okay, although I might've preferred grey over tan. Exterior of the shack is pretty cool, but not much of an interior. Thing that really puts me off though is the price tag, £80 for that? No way am I getting it now. -

Wow wow wow. I just came from the Facebook Post on the Dumbledore's Office set, didn't know all the others had been revealed. Some things I like, others not so much. Impressed by how well 12 Grimmauld Place has turned out, inside and out. Probably my favourite of the new sets. Great Minifig choices, especially with Kreacher for the first time. Ministry is okay, great minifigures but the set is only okay. Like the little inclusion of the indepartmental memos and the black hooter things (can't remember if they have a name). Also getting Dolores' patrons is super cool. Like the mini hall of prophecy too. Hope that Harry newspaper tile is printed and not a sticker. The courtyard doesn't impress me much. It doesn't have the iconic fountain which is a pretty main feature of the courtyard. The exterior arch design is nice though. Carriage and thestral: Decent, cute baby Thestral. If I didn't have the Grindelwald set I would be more interested. Hungarian Horntail: Not bad. Like firebolt build. Think people will be happy we've got a bulkier dragon this time. Dumbledore's Office: Looks pretty cool. Mrs Norris print is great. Madam Pince is appropriate as she is the librarian but I'd rather have a more memorable character who actually has dialogue like Percy (who we've only got in a set) but I can't deny the fig looks like the film 'depiction'. Overall the sets are decent. Still not the biggest fan of the more cartoony design that doesn't really look like the films. -

After complaining about the 2021 HP advent calender for ages, I ended up buying it at my nearest lego shop. Got it for £18.76 (was 25% off £25) They had the 2020 HP calender too, but I thought judging by the pieces the 2021 set was better. Despite it being very unChristmassy they're are some lovely prints: Harry's birthday cake, 9 3/4 sign and ticket & leaky cauldron sign. Also this was the first set I got with the chocolate frog cards, ended up getting 2 silver Dumbledores. -

Good choice really. I mainly thought Katie, Ginny or Cormac as they're prominent in Half Blood Prince. So is Blaise Zabini in Slytherin as he is in potions in HBP and in that scene where Draco's talking to his mates on the Hogwarts Express. But yeah Angelina's a pretty big side character in the books, shame she's only named in the film when Fred asks her to the Yule Ball in Goblet of Fire. -

That would be great. My picks for characters from each house would be: Gryffindor: Katie Bell (or maybe Ginny Weasley or Cormac McClaggen) Ravenclaw: Cho Chang (or Roger Davies) Hufflepuff: Zacharias Smith Slytherin: Blaise Zabini -

I'm not quite sure how a 12 Grimmauld set could really work tbh. No matter what you do you're probably going to end up with the sides being pretty empty/weak. Weird take, but I could almost image one of the moments book sets as a 12 Grimmauld set: You could have one side representing the kitchen with fireplace and table, then the other as the room with the tapestry (as one of the sticker sections). Then for minifigs you can have Sirius, Harry and someone else: Tonks, Mrs Weasley, Ginny. -

Yep yep yep. That is much much better. My main problem with the set we got was that it looks so short for a clock TOWER, and it looks a lot less film accurate than the 2019 Clock Tower set. But you've really fixed that. Especially since there's the Dark Tower set coming which I think was said it's coming with the fountain from the back courtyard that's in front of the clocktower. -

Just saw some other people talking that the Whomping Willow is presumably in the Shrieking Shack set. Makes sense to me, as in PoA you exit through the fountain courtyard, down to the Whomping Willow which its secret passage goes to the Shrieking Shack. I just hope it's a good size enough, as the last one wasn't the best imo. Since I don't find the Shrieking shack to be the most amazing building I don't mind if the set has a good amount of other stuff. -

I love the debate song if the Ministry of Magic set is Order of the Phoenix or Deathly Hallows. Lucius Malfoy and the golden statues plus a possible section of the prophecy room indicates Order of the Phoenix. However, 2 Dementors heavily points to Deathly Hallows. Umbridge appears in both films at the Ministry. I doubt Fenrir Grey back would be in the set as he's in neither scene at the Ministry. Scabior, Yaxley and Pius Thicknesse are all in Deathly Hallows and are minifig contenders. -

So, a lot of new sets rumoured. I will believe them when I see pictures. With that said here are my thoughts: Hogwarts Carriage: Sounds decent. Like that there's another set to get a Thestral with, since I have the Grindelwald Escape set I might pass, although a Thestral foal sounds pretty cool. I'll say this now, I really hope we get some new Harry face prints as we've had the same Smiley & Angry faces for ages. Luna easy inclusion, since she has the nice scene with Harry and the Thestrals. Sirius' Rescue: Still think it's strange that film Hogwarts has a Dark Tower for prisoners, but seems like a good set. Really exited for the fountain build as I love that bit of architecture in the films. Annoying though that it will barely match up with the clock tower like it does in the films. That's why I much preferred the 2018 style where the exterior looks just like the films, just with a small interior. Unsure about Ginny's inclusion. Dumbledore's Office: Like the sound of it, doesn't really fit with previous sets that have included parts of his office. Again with the green roofs not happy about that as I thought the grey was better. Minifigs sound okay, but we've had them all before. Like i don't have many sets but I have like 4 Dumbledore's. Ministry of Magic: Really happy with this. Pretty sure it will be Order of the Phoenix as Umbridge and Lucius are there, unsure about Dementor's though. Maybe would've liked more of the courtroom/department of mysteries rather than the offices we don't really see in the films. The gold statue(s) is a better choice over the grim stone statue in Deathly Hallows. Wish it wasn't so expensive though. Advent Calendar: No real info on this, but I really hope it's either 12 Grimmauld Place or The Burrow themed, as we actually get Christmas there, unlike the last AC which wasn't Christmassy at all. Hungarian Horntail: Not that interested. Didn't love Hedwig, liked Fawkes. Haven't got either (would've gotten Fawkes if I could find it in the UK for a reasonable price). Think Lego are stretching by making another, but it could look cool. Shrieking Shack: People have wanted this for ages, personally I've never been crazy over it. The room in the film is awesome as everything creaks and sways from side to side. But since that's all we see in the film I'm not sure how much this set can comprise of. So many sets will now have Harry's blue & Hermione's pink outfits so that's a bit dull. (Hagrid's Hut, Knight Bus, new Clocktower) Sorry for such a long post, just wanted to get all my thoughts out. -

Seeing that new Horizon set reveal was making me think what could you do similar to in it Harry Potter. The only creature that I think would come close to it while keeping minifigures in the set would be the Ukrainian Iron Belly from Deathly Hallows. Although I'd probably want that in a size closer to the Hungarian Horntail set -

I saw some people talking about Order of the Phoenix and onwards for sets, so far we've had Umbridge's Encounter, Room of Requirement, the Astronomy Tower and Student Accessory Pack. (so none from 7 yet) So in the future I'm hoping for stuff like: - A big Ministry of Magic set - A smaller Ministry of Magic set (like a mini add on that can also stand on its own like more of the room of prophecies or something) - Either a 12 Grimmauld Place set or the next calendar to be set around Christmas there - Knowing Lego they're probably remake the Astronomy Tower, like they did the clocktower. Could provide some more potions rooms though - Either a quidditch student pack or a little quidditch training set. Then we can get one or two of: Katie Bell, Cormac McClaggen, Ginny or Ron in Quidditch robes. I'd also like to see a fig for Blaise Zabini who features in HBP a fair bit (potions, Slug Club & gets thrashed by Ginny in Quidditch) - Very long shot but I'd love a small display build of the crystal looking island in the cave scene with Harry & Dumbledor stood around the evil font. - And then something, anything from Deathly Hallows: Bill & Fleur's wedding, Ukrainian Ironbelly, the Hog's Head, Battle of Hogwarts, Hogwarts Boathouse etc. -

So I think I remember hearing there's going to be another Advent Calendar right? My hope is that it'll either be themed around Christmas at the Burrow or 12 Grimmauld Place. Mainly because it would actually be Christmassy unlike the last one. -

Out of those sets I only have the Graveyard, and I love it. Good amount of pieces and some nice minifigs too including Wormtail who we haven't had since. Plus who doesn't want a tiny baby Voldemort piece?
