Finally someone who understands where I'm coming from of the themes purpose being defeated. Also, I would love to see a kid scouts people pack. Maybe as part of a park related subtheme or something. If that happens, I would also like to see a circus troop/step team people pack which would give a nod to the Flying Legandos from LEGO Island.

If 2020 is the start of a new decade for City, I have some ideas on how to cater to all audiences. 1. Instead of the extra police themes, focus on other rescue services like roadside assistance , paramedics and the coast guard. Keep the generic police that comes out every 3 years. Of course you'll sell your fire sets. 2. Instead of the explorers themes (which I still think should be it's own theme btw; LEGO Explorers), expand the town based sets and make them buildings please. Like Friends does. 3. Four people packs a year. I really love the people packs. They should release one every season. 4. The base set for every subtheme should be smaller than the biggest set. Look at the fire sets for this year. The fire station is smaller this year and the biggest set is the downtown firs brigade. I want them to continue that trend of not making the base set the biggest set. 5. Unless Creator is canon to City, we need more houses. Those are my thoughts. I doubt they'll happen. But hey! I can dream, can't I?

LEGO could use Playmobil for inspiration!

I have the school bus set. Unfortunately because of the photo restrictions, I can't upload it. I bet Lego has yet to do a legit school bus for the City theme though. I know they have one for Hidden Side and Friends. I say "legit" becsuse the bus from set no. 7641 kinda looks like a school bus, but if you look at it closer, it seems to be based more off of those Hertz Car-Rentals shuttle than a school bus. They haven't revealed all the great vehicles for 2020 though. So I'm keeping hope alive. -

I hope they don't put this under the City theme! -
I have an idea for a LEGO City set. To celebrate LEGO Media's 24th birthday next year, I think they should release a modern day CITYfied version of the Information Center from Lego Island. With an Infomaniac minifigure.

We have enough police and fire sets. Though a horse cop would be kinda neat. But a bowling alley, arcade and a series of food trucks are things that I have to agree with. Heck! They did pretty darn good with the pizza van from 2017 and I hear an ice cream truck is on it's way in 2020. I'm all for it.

Lego City 2019 - Rumours, Speculation and Discussion
Driver Brandon Grumman replied to TheArturro's topic in LEGO Town
Though it would be nice, I don't see certain things in City's future. At least the near future. I'm not sexist. But there are just certain things that work for Friendd that don't work for City. Girls love to go places and have a great time. Thus why minor civilian infrastructure like houses, pet shops or grocery stores would work for them. Boys like to go either save the day or travel across the globe and explore different habitats. City and Friends are practically the same thing. One is just aimed at boys and the other is aimed at girls. Its not really our beeswax if Lego doesn't meet our need. Would what I just said explain why you defend City on their systems? -

@J4ck I agree. I hope this is the start of a new sports subtheme. -
I would also like a Subaru set. That's only if Lego can acquire the Subaru license.

Dodge Charger Hellcat Widebody Ok fine! I know it's not in production yet. But I think it would sell extremely well.

LEGO City 2020 - Rumors, Speculation, and Discussion

@TeriXeri If all of those are Octan badged though....I'm making plans for the ultimate Octan Auto Complex. Service Station looks to be either a 4+ set or smaller than the 7993. -

Over 300 pieces for the service station? That's about the same as the one from 2016. Sounds like a full blown petrol station. I think we may be seeing an Octan subtheme. Tuning workshop being the garage and stepping into the race car realm of the Octan Cup with the race cars. It's the perfect subtheme. Being an automotive student, I'm actually excited for those. For classic police, I'm also expecting a prisoner transport and a mobile command center. -

@9v brick master All of the winter 2020 sets haven't been revealed yet. So there's still hope. I definitely want that TV 6+ News Station as well as other buildings that will answer my questions about Lego City. Such as....where do those TV 6+ reporters report to after their work is finished? Is there anywhere to live? Are the 3in1 houses and modulars by the Creator division canon to City? Is there a fixed transit company? Where do the tow trucks take the cars to get fixed? Stuff like that. -

I hope its a similar cross look between 60174 Mountain Police Headquarters and 60215 Fire Station. Definitely not the 60204 Hospital. -

That's the one that was on Lego Island and I personally owned that set. I graduated from Duplo when I turned 5. The Metro PD was my first building. That's why it brings me nostalgia. Somehow, I feel like the City division of LEGO may have seen some of my tweets. I did a rant about how the base sets for city should have more emphasis on the building and less on the vehicles. You can of course have vehicles in the subthemes because vehicles sell. But make it so the base set has more emphasis on the building. That's what I liked about this year's fire department. -

@Feng-huang0296 For me, it was the 7744 that was the best. Aka. The one I never got to own. @Roebuck It's still early. Keep hope alive. @TeriXeri If the prison is on a small island, it'll give me nostalgia. I remember the Metro PD. That thing was nice. -

@TeriXeri Well...you said back in s message you sent me that you hoped the police station would be as simple as the fire station. Would 770 pieces give you hope? -

Children also seem to love buses just as much as they do police cars and fire trucks too because children love to get people from one place to another as well as fighting crime or fires. Thus the airport and trains subthemes.

Thank You @Klaus-Dieter! I actually like your great vehicle ideas too. Though instead of the post van, I think they should do a full blown post office. 1. Actually, the reason behind it was that I wanted the building itself to be the focus of the news station set. But I want it simplified like this year's fire station. Maybe I shouldn't have said it the way i did though. 2. Lego has shown that they are very great at making buses. But the reason for a Transit subtheme is because 1. I kinda feel insulted that they haven't made one yet being a transit enthusiasts and a future worker for the transit system and because 2. There was so much potential in that 60152 bus station that they could've made that a subtheme and it would've sold.
