Why Lego reduce releasing hospital / clinic theme
Driver Brandon Grumman replied to ks6349's topic in LEGO Town
Yeah! I do have to agree. 2018 and 2019, I barely got any sets from those years. The only sets I got from those years were the hospital, some parts from the capital, some parts from the doughnut shop, fire station, burger bar, downtown fire rescue and space center. -

I do miss the days of Lego system because I was a child and have history with sets. Matter of fact that was when I got into town related sets. I also was a kid at my time. Single digits to be precise. The difference is....I have more money now that I am an adult. Born in 1992, by the time I was a teenager and old enough to work, City had come for me as well. City does have a lot of great sets. I think in a way, we can compare old school town to current City. I mean they had arctic, space and divers then too and those were still considered town subthemes. -

I did mention earlier that those kinds of civilian services obviously are more popular among girls thua why Friends has more of those than City. I do have to admit that technically we did get two hospitals back to back. The City hospital from 2018 and the one that you showed in 2019. Maybe the medical field in the Lego world is rising to popularity again. Since they've been on a six year streak, I was initially thinking 2024. But the Ski Resort kinda broke that streak by being released in 2019. So 2021 may surprise us. -

A Toy Story people pack would be one that I'd pick up quickly. -

All I was doing was reading what you had said and giving my point of view after I had processed what you were trying to say. That's all. I wasn't trying to anger anyone. Yet you felt the need to accuse me of something I wasn't doing. -

What's your problem dude? This comment that I've just quoted sounded like hastiness as well. -
@Peppermint_M Sorry for cutting in here, but with all due respect, I know ks6349 very well. He's really a great guy. He was frustrated because he felt like people were attacking him for his opinions, which happens a lot on these forums unfortunately and nothing is done about it. Instead, the person who stands up for themselves is played as the criminal. Some people on here like to challenge. But they don't understand that they are just expressing their opinion or speaking from their own experience. They're not stating facts or speaking for anyone else. Thought I'd just inform you of that since according to your profile, you are a moderator.

I agree. However some builds make sense like that hair salon. -

My guess is that civilian services such as farms and hospitals just do better under Friends than in City. Though if possible, I'm hoping that the designers of City give the farm subtheme another chance. The reason I'm begging for things like this to return is because I hate buying them second hand and I have more money now than I did back when these were out. -

No need to be hasty dude. I'm just slow at processing. The designers of City sets don't really focus on the weaponry and killing aspect of police. They just do the chase and arrest piece. Thats it. It's similar to the firefighters putting out the fires and rescuing cats from trees and the doctors and paramedics getting people who are hurt to the hospital. They don't focus on the blood and gore piece. That's why I said action can happen anywhere. So with that being said this is how it happens; police - chasing and arresting criminals, firefighters - putting out fires and rescuing animals, doctors/medics - getting people to the hospital, etc. Even going beyond emergency subthemes such as the explorers subthemes. When you are involved in a job that is classed as a major civilian service, there is no such thing as an action free day. There is always action and Lego can do that and they have done it. With every line of work City has covered, they have put some type of action in there - even stretching the truth at times. I wish people wouldn't use sales as an excuse. Thats really annoying. The thing is....you can call a theme diverse. But you, like a lot of other people on these forums aren't seeing the big picture with City. If you look at the big picture, you can see that City almost only focuses on these three topics every year; police, great vehicles and explorers. Since 2012, you will not see a City wave without those three. That's why people on other forms of social media are calling Lego City a dump of repetition and non diversity. I know we should take time to understand why Lego does what they do with City and the limitations they may be under. But at the same time, people should take time to understand why people think the way they do about certain Lego themes such as City. -
Which truck will you pick (only one) 60182 or 60254??

Oh my god! That's exactly what I've been screaming for. Pity that the garage subtheme from 2009 was one and done. I wish they'd bring it back. -

@Medzomorak Words only. No pictures...Can you explain that a little more? I'm a slow processor. What do you mean you're not convinced? I don't think excitement stops at cops, firefighters and explorers. -

That is true. Medics and Doctors are also just as heroic as cops and firefighters. Thus why they are called first responders. Maybe we'll see a standalone ambulance in 2021 like we did in 2012. Towing is also a vital civilian service too. We've got a tow truck with the tuning shop, but I'm kinda hoping for something more generic and standalone like previous tow trucks that we have gotten from City. Personally, speaking as a mechanic, the tow truck was my favorite vehicle from City. It was the buses, but it changed once I got no. 7638 in the mail the other week. I also got the big tow truck from the 2009 garage set from Bricklink. -

The vehicles that City does are more interesting. I'm still begging the designers of City to do a re-release of the flat nose tow truck from 2009 and a school bus to the Great Vehicles lineup for 2021. -

You know....considering how many girls want to be cops too, I'm surprised that the designers of Friends aren't joining the success of police stations. I would like to see TLG do a Heartlake City Police Headquarters. Just as much as I would like to see that modular police station on LEGO Ideas be released. -

LEGO City 2020 - Rumors, Speculation, and Discussion
Driver Brandon Grumman replied to Digger of Bricks's topic in LEGO Town
I do have to admit that Creator 3in1 vehicles are a little pricey. City is cheaper. Thats probably because 1. They've got more pieces instead of stickers and 2. Vehicles just isn't what the designers if the Creator division specialize in like the designers of City or Speed Champions. I think TLG needs to let City handle generic vehicles. Creator should stick to infrastructure and adult oriented sculptures and town planning sets. -

Yeah! Tbh, they're pretty much known for detailed vehicles as Creator is with its buildings.
