  1. Did you press the green button for a long time (> 10 seconds) ? That resets the hub and you'll need to do the firmware update again. Just press it briefly to turn it on.

  5. If you're using the Commander app, you'll need to tilt the device forward to make it move forward, and flicking your device will make it strike.
  6. In my opinion it's too expensive. In my country (Malaysia) I've seen NXT sets being sold for 85-90 euro. Personally I still like it and the models you can make with it are cool. You can even program it using the EV3-G software. If your kid is between 7 - 10 years old, probably LEGO Boost would be better.

  8. The EV3 brick has 4 motor ports and 4 sensor ports. So max no motors for 1 brick is 4.
  9. You can use the unregulated motor block in the LabView version of the EV3 software to set power.

  11. The sensor can detect if it's pressed(on), released(off) or bumped(momentarily on).
