THE PIRATE BAY IS GOING TO BE AN OFFICIAL LEGO SET!!!!
TheDeeGee replied to Another Brick In The Wall's topic in LEGO Pirates
That's actually good, i seriously hate hoarders. -
She's looking for a display case, but sadly enough i can't find a size, as she measures 66cm x 23cm x 49cm My current display cabinet has room on top, but it's limited to 76cm x 37cm, and i don't want the display case on top to overhang. https://www.idisplayit.co.uk/ doesn't have anything i'm looking for. They either have a really large one 78cm x 26x x 52cm, which will overhang on the side If i mod a little hoever and remove the rowing boat and lower the highest flag, i can get the size down to 63cm x 23cm x 46.5cm, which means https://www.idisplayit.co.uk/display-cases-for-lego/movies-tv/70618-destinys-bounty-display-case/ can work. It's a shame they don't offer something like 70cm x 26cm x 52cm.

Cheers! I guess then they only have https://www.idisplayit.co.uk/display-cases-for-lego/lego-creator/10247-ferris-wheel-display-case/ for it. Which would overhang by 2 cm on the front on my current display cabinet...dang it :( -

Does anyone have measurements (in centimeters) of the actual ship build, because it looks really tall and i want to see if https://www.idisplayit.co.uk/ has a case for it. -
After more than 20 years being a shipwreck in storage bins she's finally restored into her full glory! The white and grey pieces had a hydrogenperoxide bath for roughly 6 hours, including the printed pieces. The sails are in great condition as they had been stored in between the manual at the bottom of a pile of other manuals. Funny how i found this harder to build than a modern set, because they don't tell you which pieces you need, and you basically have to compare the previous image for differences ^^

Mine was either the Shipwreck 6296 or Eldorado 6276. Still own them both, but scattered across multiple boxes with parts. I did find some pieces related to them the past days, as i been getting the Skulls Eye Schooner together, which i got back in the 90s when we were on a holiday elsewhere in the country with the entire family.

Corona - What piratical things are you doing during this time
TheDeeGee replied to Piraten's topic in LEGO Pirates
Been getting the pieces together for Shooner and Wild West sets, been great zoning out and forgetting what's happening outside my walls. -
Been in the process of resurrecting her myself, found all the parts except one of the Blue Laterns, which i had to order on Bricklink. Found that some pirates had cracked arms and torso pieces, but i was lucky the Black Skull wasn't my only pirate set, so i had some duplicates to replace them with. Next step is to wash all pieces and giving the White and Grey pieces a peroxide treatment. Also ordered a salad spinner to get rid of most water before letting them dry naturally. Lucky my sales are in great condition, as i had them stored between the manual underneat a truckload of other manuals, so they're super flat. (On another note, i also found all my Wild West (Cowboy Tag on Bricklink) sets from 1996. Seems i own all of them except the small 6790 polybag. They're in GREAT condition still, just need a wash as well) I got Eldorado Fortress as well, which i may restore as well, but i noticed i need some more replacement parts for that, nothing that's not available today though.

Finished mine yesterday, cute little model. The roof and basket are really nice details to give the car more visual interest. I did have some scratches on the hubcabs which is a little annoying, so i ordered some new ones via Bricks n Pieces. Another thing i noticed is the 1x8s in light yellow (in the doors) are a bit darker in shade than all other bricks. You don't really notice this on display, but it's definitely visible in close range during broad daylight.

Ordered mine, i passed for the extra 15 bucks to get the train though.

A nice, light yellow. I hope they keep doing this to break up colors between all sets.

Sweeeeeeet! That's all i have to say really =]

No pictures sorry. Those Tumbler tires are pretty soft and the Batmobile is pretty darn heavy. It looked fine the first week, the tires deformed a little, but now almost 3 weeks later the weight caused quite a flat spot. Lucky it didn't cause any permanent deformation. But i bet if it was sitting like that for many months the rubber would never recover to it's default shape. -

It might seem right on paper, but on the boxy cars like the Nissan and I-Pace the tires really look too small. This is probably because the proper shaping to those cars cannot be done in Lego. -

To all owners of the D2C 1989 Batmobile. Do not display it on it's own tires, if you don't like to use the stand. I noticed today the rear tires really started to sink in and almost kept that shape. As a solution i simply put 4 transparent bricks underneat the model behind the tires, that way the tires still rest on the surface but no longer take the weight. -

Word of advice for those with the UCS Batmobile. Do NOT slide the canopy without lifting it up, it will leave scratches on the 1x8 smoothed tile below it. Lucky i found there are two 1x8 tiles used out of sight for the angled constructions with vents next to the canopy, so i swaped it with the scratched one. -

Just finished the Big Batmobile, took about 12-14 hours. I like that the rear wheels show some deformation in the rubber due to the weight. That said, it looks soooooo good in person, much better than on pictures. And the size... it's just like she said :P -

Once again the wheels look too small. 8 wide was a big mistake.
