Disney Properties 2023 - Rumors & Discussion
DisneyLego replied to Huigberts Builds's topic in LEGO Licensed
Agreed. I’d be very surprised if this were the only set of this style for Disney. Ballroom scene makes sense since it’s an extremely iconic scene. The boat scene for “kiss the girl” would be great, or the final wedding scene (would allow for potentially getting king Triton as well) if Pixar gets a set like this, it’d be perfect for Monsters Inc. but would be cool to get a Merida scene too -

I actually love the Peter Pan set, but it was also one of my favorite rides at Disney world as a kid so the set design definitely plays into the beginning of the ride and flying over the city. I understand the complaints but can LEGO really base the price entirely on reused minifigs? For example, if they made this set $30-40 and then another similar set comes out with Belle and the beast I don’t see people being OK with it being $20+ higher just because it has 2 brand new minifigs. Yes, I know WE may see it as justifiable but that can’t be a pricing strategy LEGO uses, it wouldn’t make sense to the broader market. Seeing the additional pics of the castle also has solidified my growing disappointment overall. No doubt that I’ll get it but was hoping for a bit more. The interior is a significant downgrade IMO, though the execution of the facade is solid and I appreciate the subtle changes from the original that makes it a bit more accurate -

Soooooo, it is a bitttt surprising that it’s a Disney100 branded box… IMO, that’s an indicator it won’t be around more than 1-2 years?? I can’t imagine they keep the Disney100 branding for more than 2 years? I was on the fence about buying soon after release but may do so just to be safe. -

All these comments and none of you commented on the highlight of the set…the brick built fireworks😂😂 waiting to see additional pics but honestly somewhat of a letdown. I’ll still be buying but won’t be as excited as originally anticipated🤷🏻♂️ -

Believe there are 4-5 ahead of it. Would guess we’ll only be seeing it in the first half of 2024. Would make sense to come out some time before Halloween of ‘24 but who knows -

An archery range polybag would be a great way to get Merida and not “waste” a set -

Currently me seeing we’re finally getting some castle leaks I understand the slight disappointment on hair/dress color but for me it was kind of a given they’d go with the blonde/blue combo. I think she looks great though -

Agree, the Winnie the Pooh set is such a nice set. Very displayable yet still “playable” -

To be fair Alice & Cheshire Cat were in series 1 so the queen of hearts is really rounding them off as a true villain (and now accompanying the villains set) so I don’t see her as being too odd of a choice. IMO, the only minifig that seems odd is Stitch since there’s still no Lilo Very true, forgot he has eyebrows in the mini castle -

Big time. Also wish they would have went with brown shoes instead of the bright yellow. I compared it against the one I threw together a few years back and the difference is much more obvious side by side. https://www.instagram.com/p/Cr3Uer3u7lC/?igshid=YmMyMTA2M2Y= (2nd & 3rd pics) -

If there was a confirmed full list of minifigs for the castle it would probably make it a little easier for predictions of the standalone sets to account for the obvious missing minifigs. Assuming rapunzel, belle and their princes are in the castle then Merida is one of the more obvious still missing from this year’s line despite having a brickheadz. Some type of small Brave set could work for the $20 set. Just a thought. -

Often thought there could be a pretty interesting intertwining of architecture and Disney sets. Sooooo many possibilities there. Almost every major animated movie has a direct reference to a real-life location/building (Notre Dame, Big Ben) or a very obvious inspiration (Taj Mahal, Acropolis and various castles) Would be a great way to tap into architecture fans and those who want more Disney -

While it’s a long shot, the Hunchback is way up on my “wish LEGO made a set of…” list. One of my favorite Disney movies and has a nice variety of characters that would look nice in LEGO form. Not to mention some scenes that could have some nice play features -

No, completely get it. I’m just anxious over here lol While I don’t necessarily think they will, does anyone else see LEGO potentially repurposing those small dreamzzz figures as the dwarves? Looking at the dream village set, there’s a couple with accompanying beards & hair and I can KIND OF see it happening. Obviously, I’d prefer short leg minifigs but it’s not like LEGO hasn’t dropped the ball before on the execution of some sets/characters -

Hit all 3 this afternoon and nothing. I’ve been checking the past week or two as well since others were finding them early. barnes and noble stores seem to have them out already, just not one close enough that I can run to today -

Welcome! My opinion would be to wait until the larger Disney sets release this summer (castle etc.) as I believe there’s a a strong rumor that there is indeed a Disney GWP that will be offered. also, I don’t foresee that minidoll castle set being too terribly hard to find as I’m still not sure how well it will sell since it’s not too “Disney” besides the minidolls (may even find it on sale). Personally, I’d wait until at least the summer to see if the Disney GWP is true. At a minimum I’d wait to order until there’s some type of promo on VIP points so you can get the most out of your money -

Honestly, I’ve been assuming it would but guess it was never really stated to be the case. I just figured it’d be similar to the original castle set with small scenes/rooms for different movies/characters. One of which was an archery range *cough MERIDA cough* -

Yeah, I fully believe they saw an image of the set BUT we know how those images can be. I don’t recall if they ever specified if it was a final box art type image or some early development image. I also think the branding may play a role in it as well. If it’s branded Disney100 then I think it would give more hope that Mickey and Minnie aren’t included as it’s not intended as a long-term set. If branded like the last castle, my money is on Mickey and Minnie being included. I really just don’t see the flagship Disney parks set not having those 2. My hope is that there is more than 12, which I don’t think is a confirmed # as I’ve only seen “12+“ or “at least 12” mentioned. Honestly, if it does end up being branded Disney100, I actually think that may be a positive sign that another large Disney parks/attraction set is coming to fill the hole of a more permanent set
