  1. I agree but worry that there aren’t many more notable scenes that would translate well into sets. The current Ideas set captures most of them. The one obvious one would be Oogie Boogie’s lair, giving us Oogie and Jack as Sandy Claws, along with Sandy Claws himself. Outside of that, the only likely way to get them would be a CMF series(Oogie, Jack as Sandy Claws and Dr.Finkelstein), or some type of Villains 2.0 set.
  2. Lol. That’s kind of what worries me…I can’t imagine LEGO actually thinks people will buy a second one just because of the box change alone. So are there going to be changes to the set itself to justify a second purchase or did Disney just strong-arm them to change the box.
  3. So looks like the Disney castle is finally switching over to new packaging vs the current 100 years “limited edition” version. any chance there are changes to the set itself? hoping there’s not but would rather know now before prices skyrocket
  4. Both would be great options, however if they were to do a single set to represent the movie, I would see it being based on Geppetto’s workshop/house.
  5. Yes! Also crossed my mind back when this first leaked. A yearly minifig set in release order would be great. So long as they stick with the originals and go with minifigs, I really don’t see how they could go wrong with a standard annual set. Unless of course they completely botch the design. Pinocchio and Fantasia would be the next two, which would make sense to repurpose the Pinocchio and Sorcerer Mickey minifigs..
  6. Oh for sure lol! Yeah, strange place to have the hinge but I kind of like how the back looks, for some reason “feels” fuller when positioned that way
  7. Day 1 purchase for me. Based on the roofline on the right side of the cottage, almost certainly is going to be a flush open back. That’s really the only downside to this set as I would have loved a fully enclosed cottage. Quite anxious to see how the Maleficent set turns out
  8. Having a tough time tracking down the leak on IG due to the limited search feature. Which IG account(s) posted?
  9. October Disney GWP just leaked..mini steamboat willie set. better than nothing but to me it’s ehhh. At least it seems LEGO sees the market for Disney minifig sets
  10. Winner of the 100 Years of Fairytales was announced…not to anyone’s surprise but it was the large scale Sorcerer Mickey set with various mini builds my only hope is that maybeeee they switch up a few of the movies to give us an opportunity for new minifigs instead of repeats. Or alternatively, provide different characters (Fairy Godmother/Lilo/Gepetto/King Triton/Kristoff) or at least different variations than what is proposed in the fan design. Also, with the mini Agrabah already coming out, I’d imagine the one in this design will be replaced with another movie.
  11. Still holding out hope that the $100 castle ends up being beauty and the beast related to get those 2 minifigs and the Pixar set is Brave, allowing us to get Merida
  12. Hoping it’s animated based, with Triton since it’s technically his “castle” unless they go with Prince Eric’s with the agrabah set almost guaranteed to be the animated version it’d be a bit odd to make this one live action based but who knows with LEGO/Disney
  13. Can’t wait for this set! The Bambi figure is very well done and truly captures the look perfectly. I feel like Lion King is the one set I’d be confident getting some type of set for. Pride rock or the famous hakuna matata log scene are iconic enough to warrant a set
  14. how much room is there for LEGO to tweak the winning design? I agree that it seems a bit biased to have the large sorcerer mickey be the winner, but curious if they’d be able to tweak the represented movies? I love the concept of the set but obviously would want other movies represented rather than repeats. Still holding out hope for a large Pixar set. Something similar to the Villain Icons set would be perfect to represent the various movies yet to be represented in any way IMO.
  15. Ahhh! Yes, that makes perfect sense. Release order didn’t even cross my mind. Still can’t place the image in the smaller camera, the house/road scene looks so familiar but can’t figure it out
  16. Struggling to place the two ladies(?) at the very top of the film strip on a few of the images. The rest of your list looks accurate based on the ones we can see Agree, almost certain it’s Bambi below Cinderella. Leaning towards sorcerer Mickey but could also see it being band concert mickey. And I think it’s Pinocchio below the Sorcerer/Band Concert mickey film cell
  17. Grabbed the Hocus Pocus set and preordered the Peter Pan set…got my shipping notification this morning. I was going to get the castle right away but probably makes more sense to wait and grab it when another GWP pops up that I like
  18. I have to rearrange some other sets but I’ll likely display both side by side. As a Disney fan in general I like how It shows the timeline of the actual castle’s look. now we just need the 25th anniversary birthday cake castle 😂
  19. So the GWP looks like it’s an actual working light projector???? Or is it just 2 light bricks?
  20. Saw that too and came here immediately 😂 either it’s the first leak and the other bigger accounts are asleep or it’s fake. Time will tell
  21. Looks like UK folks will be able to grab that micro Disney castle as well for the “make and take” event
  22. Didn’t the leaked survey image of the maleficent dragon scene have a quote tile too?
  23. Agreed. I’d be very surprised if this were the only set of this style for Disney. Ballroom scene makes sense since it’s an extremely iconic scene. The boat scene for “kiss the girl” would be great, or the final wedding scene (would allow for potentially getting king Triton as well) if Pixar gets a set like this, it’d be perfect for Monsters Inc. but would be cool to get a Merida scene too
  24. I actually love the Peter Pan set, but it was also one of my favorite rides at Disney world as a kid so the set design definitely plays into the beginning of the ride and flying over the city. I understand the complaints but can LEGO really base the price entirely on reused minifigs? For example, if they made this set $30-40 and then another similar set comes out with Belle and the beast I don’t see people being OK with it being $20+ higher just because it has 2 brand new minifigs. Yes, I know WE may see it as justifiable but that can’t be a pricing strategy LEGO uses, it wouldn’t make sense to the broader market. Seeing the additional pics of the castle also has solidified my growing disappointment overall. No doubt that I’ll get it but was hoping for a bit more. The interior is a significant downgrade IMO, though the execution of the facade is solid and I appreciate the subtle changes from the original that makes it a bit more accurate
