21348 Lego Ideas Dungeons & Dragons and D&D CMF
BardDandelion replied to Black Falcon's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
I'm a bit dissapointed, these figs have very cartoonish/fairy tale design. Before this reveal I was thinking of getting whole box (three complete series, three of each minifig) now I know that I will get one complete series and maybe some extra gnome druid and dragonborn paladin.- 686 replies

@Lion King Thanks a lot! :D
-
@Agent Kallus Thank you! I don't like going over the top with my builds becase - as you mentioned - it doesn't fit LEGO world. For me it's not only case for edgyness but also hiperrealism. I like to keep my builds in the realm of cartoonish style since I find it fitting minifigs the best.

@zoth33 Thanks a lot! Princess Leia torso works perfectly in fantasy builds. :D
-
@Feuer Zug It all started with idea of minidolls standing on the shelf as a collection of Barbie dolls. :)
-
@Space Coyote No problem, hope you will use it yourself in one of your builds. ;)
-
@LEGO Train 12 Volts Thanks a lot! Due to LEGO geometry the carpet is only 0.5 plate over the floor. ;)

The most popular doll in the world celebrates her 65th birthday this year! Finally was able to use some of Friends minidolls I have. Can you recognize their occupation? :D

@LordDan Thank you! Cage is an update of technique used in my Ogre cave MOC. :) @Space Coyote Thanks a lot! Legs are pulled out of hips part and connected with modified bricks in dark red. Then they could be "hinged" a bit. You may try this technique yourself, it's easy. ;) @Grin Thanks! :D @Feuer Zug Thank you! Glad that you like my build. ;)

My first entry in Summer Joust 2024, category 12x12 Vignette. ;) Had this idea of pool/bath filled with blood and lady vampire taking a bath in it in my mind for a long time. I believe it was one of previous years Summer Joust categories (Castle interior or something similar) that planted this in my head. Finally was able to get it built. :D Scene was heavily influenced by story of Elizabeth Báthory, Hungarian noblewoman who was accused of killing several young women and bathing in their blood to retain her youth. You may check it here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Elizabeth_Báthory

Lovely little scene, nice job with colors. ;)

[MOC] Meereen Throne Room - Game of Thrones
BardDandelion replied to Martin98's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
Such a nice build! Can't wait to see your future builds (not only those GoT inspired). -
Such a nice little build! I really like the fact that there is also an inside built. ;)

@MaximB Thanks! Yup. Cubebrick made a great job with this video and we all did an awesome job with the diorama. In peak it was over 9m long. :D @LEGO Train 12 Volts Temple on the right side was built by Cubebrick who made and uploaded the video. Check his channel (he makes his content in English). ;)
-
@MaximB Thank you. ;) I highly recommend watching video linked in one of the posts - the whole diorama was huge and filled with details and little scenes. ;)
-
@Boindil Lego Thank you. ;) @MaximB For me it's usually the other way around - I find most battlements in Castle MOCs not bulky enough. These wooden structures on the ship are that big to provide cover for soldiers standing there.
-
@MaximB Thank you. I'm afraid they are not going out. They are going into the soup. :(

I see that there are several answers in this old topic of mine. :D @jtooker @MrLegoBlitz @legogirl221 @LEGO Train 12 Volts @royalstick @Zhokker Thanks a lot! Glad that you like my build. ;) @Yoggington Yup, that's the one. It comes from KKII big figures sets. @Triceron Thanks! I still have it and going to use it in battle diorama, preferably flying over battlefield. @natesroom I should have something. If you are still interested it, let me know, I could send you some WIP photos. ;) @MontyMatte Thanks a lot! It's a bit tricky technique and could be risky (torso or arms may break). I do not recommend it to unexperienced people who do not feel parts. @Feuer Zug Thank you. For me this is the essence of LEGO - taking sets apart and creating something new. @zoth33 I was heavily influenced by HoMMV griffons, they were armoured and wanted to recreate it in my build. @Sarophas Thanks! I have some more Warhammer creatures in my mind so who knows, maybe at some point I will make Deathclaw. ;) @GeoBrick Yup, size of the hoofs is something I should reconsider. Thanks for the feedback. ;)

@Jason Todd is my God Thanks a lot, glad that you like my build. ;)
-
@legoturtle Yeah, I know these but I didn't have any of them. Also - with size restrictions it would be difficult to create beach that looks interesing. @Mandalorianknight Thank you very much! Good luck with your entry! ;)
-
@ARC2149Nova Thanks a lot! Glad that you like the tree. Took me several evenings to came up with satysfying solution. ;) @CloneCommando99 I was thinking of including Alfred but space on 12x12 vignette is limited so focused on this father-children relation of Bruce and younger members of Bat-Family. Build was prepared for contest and there was a size restrictions.

@LordDan Thank you very much! Details and minifigs are essential in these little builds. ;)
