In series 1 Credence only had a 1x2 tile as an accessory, but at least that had a unique print. I think you’re right, if they’re going to do something as generic as a vault key for Griphook the least they could do is give him som galleons as well.

LEGO Collectable Minifigures Future Series Rumours
Accio Lego replied to r4-g9's topic in Special LEGO Themes
None of the new molds are on characters that are set to appear in the five sets we know will come out in June. There’s a chance Bellatrix will come in one of the August sets, but that would be so close to the CMF release that the new piece would technically be part of the CMF mold budget (like the Mickey and Minnie hats from last year’s Disney 2 series). -

Series 20 only has a dozen new molds and WW series 2 already has 9 visible just on the package -
I hope Fawkes has a connection point for minifigure hands on his tail like the 2002 one did. They gave one to Nagini, it seems only right that Fawkes should get one since he actually carries characters that way on a couple of occasions.

I did a quick check and Harry does wear a grey zip up over a red shirt in some HBP scenes (the easiest to look up is the scene in the Three Broomsticks, he’s wearing it there)

I’m fully expecting the (pretty much required) Draco variant to come with Slytherin robes. Perhaps with a much desired ferret accessory?

This is amazing news to wake up to! So glad the rumors of it being pushed back were wrong. 1. Professor Sprout: the version we deserve after the poor showing back in 2011. Love the new hair/hat combo and while the different mandrake design is odd, I honestly like it better than the last one. 2. Luna Lovegood: this was on my predictions list. We can only see the head and shoulders but it’s already perfect. 3. Harris!Dumbledore 2.0: he’s got FAWKES! and a snazzy new hat/hair combo. I was expecting the requisite Dumbledore of series 2 to be young Dumbledore from CoG, but with FB characters taken out this is an amazing choice. 4. Kingsley: Yes yes yes yes yes 5. Neville Longbottom: I was not expecting to get him in this CMF. But with a new Monster Book of Monsters I’m not going to complain, can’t wait to get a better look at that. 6. Bellatrix Lestrange: predicted here a while ago and here she is - with new hair to boot! I fully expect this to be an excuse to fold the mold budget for that glorious monstrosity of a hair piece into the CMF, and predict we’ll see Bellatrix in her Death Eater outfit attacking the heroes in a set in the near future. 7. Harry Potter: not much to say about him - any Wizarding World Series needs a version of him as main character, and every CMF needs at least a couple of figs with no new molds. Looking forward to getting a full view of the potions book. 8. Moaning Myrtle: been expecting to see her turn up here since the prefect’s bathroom showed up in the Clocktower set. Love the change in color pallets for the ghosts. 9. Griphook: choosing a hair piece over a molded head is interesting, but I can’t say I mind, since we can still tell exactly who this character is and it gives Lego more flexibility in the future. Some pretty nice arm printing visible too. Can’t wait to get a proper look at all of these, and see what else the series has to offer. (Fingers crossed for TONKS!)

LEGO Collectable Minifigures Future Series Rumours
Accio Lego replied to r4-g9's topic in Special LEGO Themes
I’m about as excited about the prospect of a Marvel series as I was about the DC one - it’s a nice concept but it’s bound to be at least half full of variants of characters that we’ve already seen in sets for years. On the other hand, this would be the perfect opportunity to give us Squirrel Girl. -

Maybe they bumped the price back down? Or maybe there’s an entirely different kind of blind bag coming with the theme - the Dots bags are still $3.99 after all. -
Just a final confirmation of rumors we’d already heard. I was always a little surprised about the rumors of a Wizarding World series this year cropping up after FB3 was pushed back until next year, so I can hardly be surprised when it turns out the CMF likely will come out to coincide with the movie. At any rate, with the rumors that we’re getting two $100 price point sets and a D2C this year there’s plenty of Harry Potter to use up our budgets on as it is.

LEGO Collectable Minifigures Future Series Rumours

Looks like the new licensed series is going to be for a new Mario theme. I wonder if it will stick strictly to the Mario games or if it will pull from the entire Smash Bros. Universe. -
The rumors say it’s going to be licensed. You can check it out on the LEGO Collectable Minifigures Future Series Rumours thread.

LEGO Collectable Minifigures Series 20. Rumors and discussion
Accio Lego replied to Robert8's topic in Special LEGO Themes
With the release date apparently April 1st I’m surprised we haven’t gotten any official promotional pictures of series 20 yet. -
I think we could easily see Hogsmeade as a set, although Diagon Alley will probably get made first. It’s exteriors aren’t as colorful and marketable as Diagon, but Hogsmeade still has some locations pivotal to the movies that most people can recognize - like Honeyduke’s, the Three Broomsticks and the Hog’s Head. But then again I also think that that $100 August set could be Grimmauld Place. On an only slightly related note, my wallet and shelf space are going to be hit hard this year.

I’d rather Lego avoid putting Yule Ball variants in the CMF, because CMFs aren’t just a source of new prints, they’re also one of our best sources for new accessories, and because the Ball scenes are so heavy on the dancing there really aren’t many items that could be used as accessories. I’d much rather see Yule Ball variants in an advent calendar where they can stand on their own. Also, nobody really wants Yule Ball variants of minor characters if they don’t have the Golden Trio - an advent calendar allows Lego to throw in Harry, Ron and Hermione in their dress robes as the reused figures (and all advent calendars have some preexisting figures, there isn’t the budget to do 6 or 7 completely new figs) and then fill out the rest of the calendar with other Yule Ball variants. That way the people who couldn’t afford the Clocktower set don’t feel alienated (and even have a 50% cheaper way of getting the Yule Ball trio), and those who do have the Clocktower have a nice little expansion to it and can do whatever they want with the repeats (Harry’s torso in particular is very useful if one wants to populate the face floor). Just in general I think Yule Ball variants have more playability when you’ve got a group of them, which makes them more appealing to children/parents/casual fans when they’re in an advent calendar then in a CMF where you actually have to put some work in if you want to get the entire group.

Sadly the only times Ernie gets lines in the movies are during CoS deleted scenes, so it’s hard to say whether Lego will give us him.
-
I just realized that now that we’re getting CoS Tom Riddle the only character that we still need a flesh toned update for is Lockhart.
-
I mean, I have a book from 2010 that came with Yule Ball Harry, so you probably shouldn’t take this as an indicator of a Chamber set coming any time in the near future.
-
Obviously the way to get around CoS Tom being released as a book exclusive is for any future Chamber set to come with a version of him from after Harry has stabbed the diary and he’s littered with glowing magical holes.

LEGO Collectable Minifigures Series 20. Rumors and discussion
Accio Lego replied to Robert8's topic in Special LEGO Themes
I agree that the archetype would be more accurate with the S16’s spy hair or even a new long haired version if they wanted to have the character female. Unfortunately, at this point it looks like Lego has shelved the hair-with-visor-connection-points concept for some reason. -
I personally suspect that a Wizarding World series 2 has probably been on the table since series 1 did so well right off the bat, but it was probably always planned to coincide with the next FB movie. From what I’ve heard, they start working on a CMF is around a year ahead of time, so the announcement of FB3 getting pushed back came with enough warning that Lego could change the release schedule without issue (it’s actually likely that Fall 2020 was never officially Wizarding World series 2). The only reason that WW might have ended up being switched around with another planned series is that licenses aren’t something that you can obtain on a whim, so odds are that Lego was at the very least already in the process of obtaining the licensing rights for this IP (if not already in possession of them) when the FB3 delay was announced. The source on the news that WW series 2 isn’t coming this year and that it’s a different licensed CMF this fall is considered extremely reliable. And as far as the possible license goes - the only current IPs that are good for sequel series are DC, Disney and Wizarding World itself. Since WW is a confirmed no and DC is unlikely, the only real options are Disney 3 or a completely new (to the CMF theme at least) IP.
-
Nothing yet. All we know is that it’s licensed. It’s unlikely to be DC series 2 so early, and it’s debatable whether it’s possible that the Wizarding World Series 2 being pushed back might push up the release of a theoretical Disney series 3. Odds are it’s another license entirely new to the CMF theme, so we likely won’t know what it is for a while.

LEGO Collectable Minifigures Series 20. Rumors and discussion
Accio Lego replied to Robert8's topic in Special LEGO Themes
I think that ultimately lego needs something for the snorkel mask piece to snap on to. But if it helps, don’t plenty of divers have wetsuits that come up and cover their heads but leave the face open? The helmet piece could be considered lego’s closest approximation to that. -
Yeah, and we didn’t hear about Cedric being in the Clocktower set until much later last year. The sets shown behind the curtain at toy fair are still in development and subject to change, and from what I’ve heard the minifigures are represented by stand ins - hence the confusion among leakers on whether Privet Drive comes with Ron and Dobby or Fred and George. It’s just an educated guess that Ginny will show up in the AT, but it seems pretty obvious to me based off the other characters - Lavender and Slughorn means the set is HBP based, and Draco’s presence indicates the Room of Hidden Things, which is both an important part of the movie and a place where a major scene between Ginny and Harry occurs. There’s simply no good reason the AT shouldn’t have Ginny in it.
-
I think it’s unlikely we’ll see the Burrow this year simply because it needs a large set, and I suspect the August sets will be a large OotP set and a small HBP set to offset the large HBP and small OotP sets in the June/July wave. As far as Weasleys go, there are rumors the twins are going to be in the Privet Drive set, and I can’t remember if Ginny was on the reported list for the Astronomy Tower but I’m certain she’ll show up there. That just leaves Molly, Arthur, Bill and Percy (and technically Charlie) the first three of which will almost certainly make it into DH sets. But when it comes to Order members and Death Eaters we can only cross our fingers and hope for the August sets. I’m personally holding on to the fact that Lego has been pretty good about giving us fan favorites that were passed over in the 2001-11 run of the theme (Hufflepuff and Ravenclaw representation, Cedric, Fleur, etc.) and Kingsley and Tonks are an obvious extension of that trend.
