  1. Interesting… I hadn’t considered Mundungus as a possibility since he doesn’t appear in any Gringotts scenes in particular and doesn’t seem like he’d be regular bank clientele in general, but I suppose Kreacher does snatch him from the alley in DH1. That said, I think he’d fit a lot better in a Borgin and Burke’s/Knockturn Alley set.
  2. We’ve never gotten a separate minifigs for disguised characters so I doubt we’ll get minifigures for Bellatrix and Ron’s transfigured form (which isn’t meant to mimic an actual person). I don’t see why that would change here, it’s not like anyone is able to change clothes until well after escaping the bank. I imagine we’ll get custom double sided heads like the Ministry set. So the definite minifigures we should get in the set: 1. Harry 2. Ron (with disguised alternate face) 3. Hermione (with polyjuice alternate face) 4. Griphook 5. Bogrod 5/13 leaves a lot of open slots. Even if we give a fairly generous 3 figs each for both random goblin tellers and wizard guards it would still leave a couple slots leftover (and I see 6 unnamed characters as being pretty generous - for a set this expensive I just don’t see Lego giving us a character line up that isn’t at least half recognizable). As far as more named characters goes - Travers is a possibility if they want to add Death Eater representation, since he was present in the books and could easily pass as another patron. Bill is also an obvious option as a Gringott’s employee and one of the most notably missing characters from the lego theme. (His inclusion could also be a nice theme park Easter Egg, although I wouldn’t expect to see any other characters from the ride since it’s not a particularly accessible piece of media.) It will definitely be interesting to see what the Minifigure line up looks like in the final set. I’m just glad we’re looking at 13 because I was slightly worried we’d only get those first 5 characters that directly participated in the heist.
  3. Yeah. With any luck lego will also add it to pick a brick as well. It’s just flabbergasting that they’d put the black hobbit hair in Harry Potter and the black dreads as a random choice in the Icons of Play set when they could easily have switched the two and had a much more accurate Lee Jordan without detracting from the other set at all.
  4. That’s absolutely perfect! Why on earth did they not use it for Lee when they were already making it?!
  5. The new microscale Hogwarts is an impressive set, and very well executed in my opinion, but I’m relieved there’s no sign of any exclusive minifigures because I’m almost certainly going skip it. I’ve already got the 2018 microscale and this just doesn’t add that much display wise. This will appeal to a lot of adult collectors who didn’t have the budget or space for the 2018 set, but lego must realize there’s a chunk of us who will skip it. The one thing I’m interested in is what’s going on with the wings on those Beauxbatons horses and if it can be adapted for minifig scale winged keys.
  6. Probably best not to be so certain of that until the Disney+ series comes out. Who knows how that will affect the series widespread popularity and marketability. But I do agree that as fun as the series is and as cool as it would be to gets sets, it’s still a league behind having Harry Potter selling power at the moment.
  7. Possible but unlikely. Gringotts has decoration on the top of its dome, and the piece from the Buildable Minifigure doesn’t have any studs or attachment points on top. Gringotts done is also ribbed instead of completely smooth.
  8. Now that the sets are up on shop@home some of the details are a little more visible, and I spy a 1x1 round tile with a Galleon print in the Express set. Just a tiny hint at what’s coming this fall. I expect we’ll see several more of them in the Gringotts D2C :)
  9. The main masked Death Ester scenes are the Ministry battle in OotP, the attack on Diagon Alley at the beginning of HBP, and the attack on Hogwarts at the end of HBP. All those locations have been made since the reboot - albeit with different scenes for each of them. The Death Eaters shed the need for anonymity in DH, so if they’re not going to cheat and throw some into the battle of Hogwarts sets (which we’ve got two of so far) then they really need to give us a battle pack of masked Death Eaters.
  10. Actually, Dumbledore’s wand/the Elder Wand has consistently been tan throughout the theme since 2018. And Harry is using Draco’s wand in the battle which has almost always been dark brown like his own (so at least that one’s right)
  11. This isn’t the first time they’ve given all the students in a set the same legs and messed someone up as a result. The 2020 Room of Requirement set featured Luna with full sized legs like Harry and Hermione despite the fact that she should have had mid legs. (Luckily, that year’s advent calendar featured Yule Ball versions of the trio who were extras for those of us who already had the Clocktower set. So I had an easy way to fix Luna, and Lee can get the same treatment)
  12. They’re referring to the last time the arctic explorer subtheme had sets in 2018. At the time there were rumors suggesting a research ship with an orca, but it apparently got scrapped for various reasons. That’s why so many people have been specifically expecting an orca since this year’s summer city subtheme set names dropped.
  13. I’d definitely love to see packs of Ron/McGonagall/Luna/Kingsley and Lucius/Fenrir/2 generic Death Eaters (or maybe a blend so both packs have heroes and villains - Order v. Death Eaters and DA v. Death Eaters if you will). Maybe battle packs should be the new thing we keep talking about, seeing how this thread has apparently memed Dobby’s sock into existence.
  14. Anyone else seriously peeved that they gave us Lee Jordan with recolored hobbit hair at the exact same time they introduced the perfect dreadlocks piece for him in the Dreamzzz line? I’m going to need to grab one as soon as it inevitably turns up in black because the official Lee just doesn’t cut it for me (he’s also getting medium legs as soon as I get my hands on him).
  15. I’m not sure how much of it is true enthusiasm and how much is shock because he’s not completely cursed like brick built Yoda and other buildable figures lego has done in the past. Personally, I’m pleasantly surprised that his face is actually cute instead of creepy, but the arms and feet are a bit to off for me to think I’ll pick it up anytime soon.
  16. There’s a red postbox on the outside and the sign, while fuzzy due to picture quality, does match up with the established Owl Post logo.
  17. Lego Pygmy Puff confirmed!
  18. Speaking of the Dreamzzz teasers, I noticed some very interesting potential parts. The poster shows both a male character with what appears to be dreadlocks and an actual hourglass piece. Admittedly this is poster art and there’s no guarantee yet that there are real life parts to correspond with it, but given that we’re talking about one of the main Dreamzzz characters and and object that seems to be central to the storyline, the odds are in favor of us seeing those parts when the actual sets are revealed. Hopefully that means we’ll see recolors in the Harry Potter theme to give us Lee Jordan and Slughorn’s hourglass.
  19. Since the massive price tag suggests a strong possibility of getting the Gringotts dragon alongside the actual building, I’m guessing that the LeStrange vault will be released in the actual set - leaving the GWP to be one of the vaults featured in the first movie. This GWP will undoubtedly be used to incite more sales of the the Gringotts set, so while a high Harry Potter spending threshold is possible, we might see it being tied specifically to purchasing the bank set.
  20. Got a happy surprise today and stumbled across the Quidditch polybag in Target. I usually never see the Harry Potter polybags for sale in my local stores this early, and I wasn’t even bothering to check, but while I was searching for what I needed in the pharmacy section my sister came over saying ‘you don’t have this one yet, right?’ It's a fun little display, and I rather like the spinner action. It would be fairly easy to switch out Cho and the snitch to accommodate any player, official or purist custom. And it would take next to nothing to add a second player to the mix. The temptation to go back for more and build an entire Ravenclaw team is very tempting, but I want to wait to see exactly what’s included in the Quidditch Trunk before I make any decisions on that front.
  21. The only things I don’t absolutely adore about the Rita minifig are the plain legs (which I get are a budget issue) and the trans green plume piece for her quick quotes quill. I wish they’d done the mini feather piece in green for the quill, it would be much more screen accurate - right now it just looks like she’s holding floo powder fire.
  22. It’s interesting that we’re apparently getting Lupin’s wolf patronus despite the fact that it’s one of the only known ones that we never actually see in the books or movies. Lupin canonically holds back from conjuring a corporeal patronus because he’s afraid that a wolf is a little too obvious. It’s clear that they’re going for a whole teacher/student patronus lesson since they decided to do two buildable creatures instead of one, but it’s interesting that they went with pairing Harry with Lupin instead of any of a number DA members he teaches the spell to who actually do cast a corporeal patronus ‘on screen’ as it were.
  23. 7 minifigures in WWW means the twins, the trio, Lavender, and either Ginny or McLaggen - although there’s a very slim chance of black suit Draco making an appearance since he’s supposed to pass by in that scene. 8 minifigures in the Hogwarts Express is definitely interesting - especially since the scene they’re going for is still up in the air. Between scenes that aren’t compatible with the Hogsmeade Station info and scenes that are covered in the Collector’s Edition (which I’d like to think they’d be decent enough to avoid), there’s a very limited number of options to go with. The final scene of SS only really features the Trio and Hagrid. CoS, PoA, and DH1 don’t actually feature Hogsmeade Station. I’m pretty sure GoF cut out the train entirely. The HBP Harry v. Draco fight and Luna finding him was covered in the Collectors Edition, while the Christmas journey only featured the trio and Lavender if I remember correctly. The two options I see are a beefed up version of the HBP scene featured in the Collectors Edition with Harry, Luna, and Draco with Hermione, Ron, Ginny, Dean, and someone else added - or the final shot of OotP where the DA are all in casual clothes getting on the train, featuring the ministry six, one of the train workers, and another character. I can see either one of those sneaking Hagrid in just to give SS vibes and because he hasn’t been featured in a set in a while.
  24. I think it all boils down to which part of the Battle of Hogwarts the set is meant to represent. Obviously the Fiendfire in the RoR bit is already covered, but that leaves a lot of other options. The initial confrontation with Snape and the Carrows? The initial charge featuring the stone statues and exploding bridge? The chaos when the trio are making their way to the boathouse when we see Greyback attacking Lavender and Aberforth repelling the dementors? Most people are assuming the final portion of the battle where Voldemort and Bellatrix meet their final ends, but there are other options that would entail entirely different minifigures. I do think that the final duels is the most likely (and most demanded) option. In which case Harry and Voldemort, Molly and Bellatrix, and hopefully Ron and Nagini are given. The last minifigure is more up to debate, but personally, with Malfoy Manor and the Forbidden Forest confrontation having decent chances of being made in the future, I’d rather see a death eater that actually participated in the fighting get featured.
  25. There are several sets this year that I’m definitely waiting to see before I make up mind on them, but I think I might have to grab this new Hogwarts Express - the 2004 versions with Hogsmeade station are some of the only gaps in my pre-revival collection, so it’s hard to resist filling that gap, even if I’ve already got an impressive collection of Hogwarts Expresses. So what scene does everyone think we’ll get? 2004 did the PoA Dementor attack, but both the 3028 system train and the Collectors Edition thoroughly covered that. Going by the movies, notable appearances of the Hogsmeade station are the final scenes of SS and OotP, which both offer some fun possibilities, as well as the infamous HBP scene that was also covered in the Collectors Edition.
