Lamps aren’t exclusively electric, they could be gas lamps or oil lamps or simply housing some magical light source. Having some sort of shade on your light source would still be practical no matter what it is - there’s a reason us muggles don’t have many light fixtures that are just exposed bulbs after all.

The dog in the Marvel CMF isn’t a new mold. It’s the golden retriever piece that was introduced a couple of years ago in a new color (and with a unique print obviously). I imagine if Lego was going to conflate a retriever with a mastiff they would have done it by now, so we’ll just have to hold out hope that the designers are holding off in order to do Fang justice when they finally get to him.

Before the pictures from the survey leaked I thought “they can’t make a buildable sorting hat, I will look like a mutant poo emoji”. After the survey pictures leaked… I still think that. The one bright spot is that the way the survey was set up it means they were gauging how much people would pay for various sets, so if nobody would pay more than it costs to produce the thing then lego won’t try to sell it to us.

The baby croc mold came out in a new color in 60353 less than a year after the first Marvel cmf, so it’s not like they haven’t done it before. I’ve got my fingers crossed that they made the new tiny owl with its usefulness for another major theme in mind, seeing how the animal in the show got very limited screen time. And someone has gotten their hands on some minifigures early, and it just so happens to be both Hawkeyes. So now you can see even better pics of the new owl and golden retriever with new color and print in the usual places on Instagram.

A bunch of 1HY stuff just dropped for Star Wars, so it looks like it’s leaks season! Harry Potter stuff could come tomorrow or weeks from now in my experience, but at least we know the info on the spring sets (from all themes) is somewhere to be found now.

Maybe Diagon Alley shops? WWW is supposed to be significantly larger than the other storefronts - you might theoretically be able to make something for the smaller ones in the $40 price range of the gimmick sets.

For those interested, a leak of the Marvel series 2 cmf checklist has officially confirmed that the owl included there is a new tinier mold. Suitable for screech owls and other smaller species. Fingers crossed that the Harry Potter designers jump on that for next year’s sets - they have been good about consistently giving us owls every year. And I don’t think we’ve gone more than one year without a new owl recolor+reprint in the Harry Potter (never mind the 3 introduced outside the theme) so we’re arguably due one next year since there wasn’t one this year.

Yes, looks like the preexisting golden retriever mold, although it’s in a new color (it’s only been available before I. Brown and tan). That owl is definitely a new mold though, and so tiny! Hopefully the Harry Potter team recognize the demand and include it in some of next year’s sets.

Is that confirmed by a reliable leaker or just a the old speculation based on those leaked survey images circulating again?

Agreed, such a major drawback that it didn’t include Battle Ron to complete the trio - thry could have included Lucius to keep the numbers even (presuming that Narcissa is being saved for a new forbidden forest encounter set somewhere down the line).

They left off the roof for accuracy - the carriages in the OotP movie were actual open topped carriages instead of enclosed coaches.

New rumors say that set number 40603 will be a holiday themed gwp in November or December called ‘Horse and Cart’. Obviously, at this point we don’t know if the entire thing is brick built or if it will feature minifigure(s) and a molded horse, but if it’s the later then that’s extremely generous for a gwp.

Seems unlikely since, as you can see, that’s directly below the stopping point for the mine cart track. Not exactly the most convenient place to attach something else. There’s also clearer pictures where you can see there’s another pin directly above it that has a spacer piece on it. That’s usually something you see when the part is meant to be turned or pulled in some way, so I imagine both pins are part of some play feature involving the mine carts.

I was aware of that, I just think it’s weird that 3 out of the 5 advent calendars haven’t been added to the website yet when they release September 1st.

Has there been any more rumors regarding the GWP? I’ve heard it’s supposed to release in September to coincide with Gringott’s, but do we have any specific dates yet? Is the promo period going to coincide exactly with the release or will those wanting it need to wait to pick up the D2C? And for that matter, what vault is it even going to be based on? I originally presumed it would be one of the ones visited in SS and feature 11 year old Harry, but both those vaults and the hand me down wearing Harry are in the actual Gringott’s set. Is it possible we could get something more obscure, like Nicholas Flamel placing the stone in vault 713, or the real Bellatrix with a more extensive version of the Lestrange vault? And on a somewhat unrelated note, where are the official images for the advent calendar? The Star Wars and Friends calendars have been up on Shop@home for a while, but still no sign of Harry Potter or the other two.

They’re in a barrel right next to the lime green frog in front of the Menagerie. It’s just tricky to see them because the Death Eater is posed in front of them in most shots.

Lego knew it was a desirable location, but didn’t want to go all out and have to deal with the resulting budget (although I do think the set designer(s) did their best to give us something). Luckily, we have the power of MOCs.

Ron’s not even using polyjuice and their disguises are eliminated rather abruptly unlike previous polyjuice uses. I think you might just be seeing the wet and bedraggled faces from after they’ve been doused in the Thief’s Downfall - Harry has one too! Hermione uses a different hair piece than normal to represent the soaked state of her hair (pretty sure it’s a brown version of Thor’s).

Gringotts has been revealed and features a somewhat abridged Magical Menagerie! Animals I can see in the current crop of photos: -flying owl in grey -perched owl in brown -frog in lime green (and I think brown as well) -snakes in dark blue and dark green -pygmy puff* -bat -unprinted kitten in grey as a figural sign for the MM

Just a short list of exciting observations for me: -specially molded dragon head and jaw! -printed Bellatrix skirt! -Magical Menagerie!!! -All those unique goblins! -Post OotP masked Death Eater! -Hermione’s beaded bag is not something I’d thought about in Lego for but I’m so excited to see it here - I love all the tiny details like the the ‘Multiply your wealth’ add above the Menagerie and the little skull in the dragon’s pen - I can’t wait to see what other details are hidden in there

Probably just Hufflepuff’s Cup and not a reference to lego successfully recreating the geminio and flagrante curses Bellatrix has cast on her possessions. Although if lego finally gave us a proper version of the cup, even just the small trophy they’ve been using with a badger printed on it, I’d consider that a very happy surprise indeed.

The banks seems to be 8 or so Bellatrix’s high (error allowed for the potato quality and tiny size of my phone screen), given that Ollivander’s is roughly 5 Bella’s high (I literally just checked) that fits nicely with Gringott’s being about 150% higher than the regular Alley shops. I think you’re making an erroneous assumption that the building to the right of the bank is supposed to be the same height as a regular shop but clearly isn’t. The one on the left clearly is (4 or 5 Bella’s tall) and also seems to have the colorful front display window of a regular shop (fingers crossed for Magical Menagerie). The structure to the right seems to be a single story and mostly stone. I’m not entirely certain if it’s a shop or not.

My current display setup is a bookcase like arrangement so I’ve got my fingers crossed that the underground section is short enough to slide in the lower shelf right underneath where the building will sit. (I’ll just have to move my 2002 Chamber of Secrets somewhere new.) That will let me connect it to the big Diagon Alley set while also keeping the vaults underneath.

Ooo where’s that? I’ve been checking the basic Instagram leak hashtags expecting something like that but haven’t seen anything yet EDIT: Nevermind, my slow internet is just striking again. Looks fabulous even grainy. I wasn’t expecting the underground section to be that pretty looking. And 2/3 of the recycled figs are SS Hagrid and Harry, can’t really tell who any of the rest are.
