Wonderful display, it really captures the scene, particularly the platform and ribcage - that SNOT looks great! That was exactly my first thought seeing it, a straight nostalgia trip to 2005 =D

I completely agree that the 75205 on its own looks dreadfully small, especially for that price point (which at least in Italy became 49.99€ from lego S@H OR 54.99€ from the few retailers that had it), as stated before I completely overlooked it at first, having already bought the previous version. I don't know if it is because it started as an exclusive in the US, but I saw a similar problem with the last A-Wing (also 40$ to 50€, up to 60€ in some countries, and also an exclusive in the US), so I think there's a pattern there. Anyway I think the sandtrooper was actually a nice touch, seeing as we hadn't had one of those in a while, even if it was part of the cause for the final price. Thanks, I'm glad you like it.

I just finished building a 75021 LAAT this afternoon and was thinking how at around 2 Kg it is the heavier set I own, then I see someone revived this topic and was quite in awe seeing this 50 Kg Star Destroyer. It is definitely wonderful.

Just looked at the exchange rate to € and man that's a nice catch :) Anyway, the final batch of parts (the last 40 pieces, to be precise) arrived today in the mail, so I'm now the proud owner of a 75021 LAAT/i Gunship, for a total of 92€+24€ shipping without figures or stickers. Now I only need to stop looking at mods and be happy of my purchase :D

And while waiting for the last BL part order to arrive in the mail I found a 75169 Duel on Naboo for 20€, a set I dismissed in the beginning but was getting quite appealing to me in the last few months, don't know why. Anyway, happy to have found and grabbed it without a second thought.

Meh, I'm not really on board with the action battle sets, mostly because of their price. I understand and even like the concept of a "Make everything collapse when you shoot it" build and I think 7 YO me would have loved it, but the thing is they all seem to cost 10 $/€ more than their value. Even if I was to buy one for a child, at that price point I'd rather buy one of the small ships (eg Yoda's Starfighter, Luke's Landspeeder, Han's speeder etc) or vignette (one of the two huts, DS Escape and so on), which give the feeling of getting "more" for the same price and are still full of enjoyable play features for the children usually.

I am sorry to say I'm quite confused, because the bigger pictures are too far to see any details of the builds and the two comparison pictures look exactly the same. Maybe It's just me not noticing any difference, but still I'd advise you to check again the photos, 'cause I'm quite curious about your design.

It really looks great, just the other day I was looking for ways to correct the gun on the AT-RT included in 75151, now I guess I'll have to start a new bricklink wishlist for the parts in your version :D If you're talking about the one used at the ankle and hips I'm pretty sure it's this part, if you're talking about the upper leg/thigh I don't know, it's actually the first time I see that piece (although I suspected it's existence).

That's a wonderful discount on such a set, I'd buy it in a heartbeat if I saw it for that price
-
Aw, poor Skippy :D Jokes apart, vey nice work so far, I'm really enjoing the various vignettes, looking forward to the Cantina :)

For a cheap Chewie then get the last Millenium Falcon microfighter while it's still available I think I saw your thread about it a couple of years ago while I was still a lurker. Still, sorry about that, hope everything is getting better now. And I hope to see the end result of you cantina project when it's ready :)

That looks great, lovely display piece, and I really like the black cheese slope on the landing platform representing Krennic's shuttle - or at least I assume it's meant to be that :)

I'd love to see the nod to LSW2 with the Rebel Friend, but I fear that's unlikely :( -
I guess in this case it depends on what is the priority of your interest. If the main thing is the landspeeder, the Tusken and C3P0 then without a doubt go for the cheaper 75173. If the two mentioned figures are not the main interest AND you are willing to pay more then I'll strongly advise for the 75052. I don't have the newer landspeeder, but looking at pictures and reviews it seems that the changes from the previous version are minimal, and having the 75052 I can tell you that it's quite a nice display piece and can be easily combined with the newr cantina (which on its own is quite disappointing in my opinion). Also, seeing as you're not interested in the moulded dewback (the lizard), if the set you're buying it's used and opened then I guess you could try and tell the seller that, since that piece alone usually goes for 20$. As for the mentioned 3P0 and tusken, they're easily found in the Tatooine BP from last year (Tusken) and this year's 4+ A-wing and Dewback vs Escape Pod Microfighters (C3P0), all quite cheap sets to keep in mind for the future. Also I am too wondering why they're in the parts bin, simple lack of space or straight disillusionment?

Unfortunately there seems to be a trend of putting the legoleaks hashtag on everything, judging by the look of the page sometimes. -
I really enjoy the simplicity of the speeder looks. Also, it's nice to see a non-combat vehicle, and one capturing the right SW feel at that. Nice work.

Loved this topic from the moment I saw it, it's about time I contributed a little :) First of all we have the last iterations of Kyle Katarn and Jan Ors, based on their Jedi Outcast appearance IMG_20190311_015738 My Kyle has gone through many versions, starting with a yellow Qui-Gon face back in 2003 and finally getting a bit of love and a face thanks to the micro ski-speeder pilot from last year, while Jan was a more recent addition, also starting yellow-faced but now using a Tina Goldstein face. Still, a darker brown hairpiece would be better. Then we have Deena Shan, from the Empire and Rebellion comics IMG_20190311_015422 Quite a simple one, using the rebel technician body from 75175, a blonde hairpiece (the latest Black Widow's) and Queenie Goldstein's head, which was the perfect fit IMHO. Also from the Empire-Rebellion comic line comes Nera Dantels, here in coldgear and with a 2003 looks along with a same-style Mara Jade IMG_20190311_015341 Nera Dantels is another character I'd love to update, taking suggestions on a flesh head and more accurate torso, if you have any :) Lastly, for a bit of fun, ever wondered if rebels actually had hair under those helmets they seem to always wear? :) IMG_20190311_015519 IMG_20190311_015558 No names but left to right we have a couple of pilots (Duro from BP, a punk rock female pilot with Hermione's head, the spare pieces from Deena Shan -Black Widow/Jyn Erso head and Queenie's hair) a mechanic borrowing the surplus Ki-Adi Mundi's head, simple white hair and a random but neutral enough body, and finally some rebel troops from the two BPs using various hairpieces (and an Aquaman head, which with that hairpiece looks even more like me than the original rebel now relegated to a bounty hunter role. I simply couldn't resist). Hope you enjoyed, keep up the good work :)

Thanks, glad you liked it! And yes, the moulded dewback looks quite large compared to the brickbuilt one. Or to the building itself, in this case.

Evening everyone! As you can see from the title, I have combined the two latest Mos Eisley Cantina sets in one long display piece, but first, a bit of context. I came out of my dark ages back in 2016 thanks to a wonderful girlfriend who I had just interested in Star Wars a few months prior Ep VII and the Imperial and Rebel BPs she gave me for my birthday. From then, with the Rogue One sets coming out later that year things just steamrolled out of hand and I was buying Lego again. It was also at that time I discovered this forum, Brickset and Bricklink, and it was then I got enamored with the 75052 Cantina from 2014. Fast forward to autumn 2017 and I managed to find a wonderful deal on BL for it, so I finally got it. Needless to say, when in late 2017 came the first pictures of the new 75205 Cantina I was more than satisfied with my purchase, and didn't give it a second glance, especially considering the European price. That was until in january this year I found it on a shelf at a nice 30% discount at a local store and stumbling upon this reddit thread https://old.reddit.com/r/legostarwars/comments/80xq6k/75052_and_75205_combined/. After a bit of fumbling and a couple of additions from my spare parts box, here's the result, enjoy! IMG_20190131_031320 The bar, with and without figs IMG_20190131_031350 IMG_20190131_031425 Details of the (maybe flimsy) connection form the back IMG_20190131_031442 "Who parked that Ubrikkian speeder in front of the door?!" IMG_20190131_031509 Little independent addition, a couple of bounty hunters on their day off. IMG_20190131_031525 The Sandspeeder pilot happily drinking with old Ben, while Jawas are dismantling his ship for parts IMG_20190131_031550 And of course, right outside the door the local law enforcement is making sure you don't drink and drive. Remember that time Luke got so drunk he gave a lift to a Tusken raider? IMG_20190131_031610 Things are not looking good for our hero, maybe he should have just let the Tusken drive... IMG_20190131_031633 So, here it is, any feedback is always welcome, hope you liked this simple and fun MOD.

[MOC] Yoda vs Palpatine Senate Chamber Duel
Per_SW replied to darththeling's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Love the design, I agree with the comments that such a set is quite overdue. Also, I think that the smaller iteration is perfect for the 30$/€ range, maybe losing one of the 2 Shocktroopers shown in the last picture (Lego has become quite jealous of its minifigs lately) and with a simple lever mechanism to make the two "higher" pods jump out, while leaving the three "lower" ones as they are, still easily removable. -
And right after ordering the first lot of bricks -as said above- I find out that the local toy store is having 25% off all Lego Star Wars. Did not manage to restrain myself, and the Death Star Escape scene is sitting on my desk as I'm typing.
-
Finally pulled the trigger and made the first bricklink parts order towards a 75021 LAAT Gunship :) Now I'll have to be patient before ordering the rest, lest my wallet starts to bite me

Love the micro U-Wing in the corner, well done :)

That's a pity, since BPs are usually what interests me more and I've already decided to skip the current 2 (not a ST fan and I don't really care about Inferno Squad). -

Quite glad for the Antilles figure, hoping this means a nice overdue set remake is coming. Regarding the RvsK duel, meh... I usually like these vignette-style of set they're doing lately (always thought we needed more "location sets") but this one looks quite underwhelming. Anyway, it doesn't matter to me since I don't collect ST sets. Also, no idea what this JAWS set may be, but a gungan sub feels quite unlikely :D (And now I'm waiting for the "sub rumor" to spread like a virus).
