  1. It's possible- I would say I feel like then they'd just be in the U-wing, but it's entirely possible the development timelines don't work out that way, or that lego just chose stormtroopers so there'd be normal stormtroopers in at least one retail set this year. (Another easy solution to "let's make sure there's normal stormtroopers in a retail set this year" would be to produce at least one original trilogy playset in the year 2025) Same. Something like the one from the old lego games would work well in my opinion. I'm also hoping it's tan instead of dark orange to better fit his movie appearance, and then the inevitable wolfpack set in 2026 can contain a TCW recolor if we're lucky. Personally I do not like to imagine this, I never got into One Piece and don't like the idea of it taking my favorite theme's lunch money. Doesn't it have a strong audience, hence why it's getting a theme? Is lego somehow so strapped for cast that they have to cannibalize one of their bestsellers to launch a new line?
  2. I feel very confident saying with the utmost certainty that half the characters I listed have wider appeal than werewolf/sun/cyborg/cowboy spider-man. I think a lot more people know Superior or PS4 for instance than any of those ones. Sure, fine, I know they want to do 50/50 now (which IMO is part of the issue for CMFs like this because at the end of the day the majority of the popular spider-man variants are spider-mans, since the base version is spider-man), but I still feel like they should have gone for characters like Jess, or even characters who have similarly tiny screen time like Lady Spider but were actually prevalent in the comic event. I doubt I've heard any of his music besides whatever was in the film, but he had an interesting design and I actually laughed at his joke, so I wouldn't have minded his inclusion, especially if Ben and Jess were also in the series. $5.99 pricepoint incoming Welp, moving Prowler from the "weird to have only one character not a spider but at least it's a cool figure" to the "waste of a slot" category. I'm sure the design'll end up changing a bit in Beyond anyway, so it's not even like it helps much for that. Yeah I'd be surprised if we got the remainder of Miles' and Miguel's main ITSV/ATSV squads, much less anyone like Unlimited/Superior/Bagman.
  3. Sure, but I'd be surprised if they did. Generally the Avengers and Spider-Man sets stick to their corners of the universe. Plus I think we know the figures for the non-MCU august sets and neither include X-men characters. For Sunspot, far as I know he doesn't have a lot of crossover with either corner, and hasn't shown up in the spidey kiddie show they make 4+ sets for.
  4. Still, both previous marvel series, along with most other series besides those since like 2020ish, have only had 12 figures. I'd be shocked if that turned around now, especially if leakers somehow were given a half list. If the series secretly has the most minifigs in a cmf series... ever, I think, and double the recent average, and lego somehow managed to hide exactly half the figs from lego, I will unironically buy you a few of them. That's how confident I am that it's not true. Yeah exactly- I didn't even know who they were in general. There are SO MANY spiders within the film who either have lines, some level of screen focus, or are just cameos but have real significance in the comics or other media. The choices they ended up making are really obscure. Web-slinger's at least been involved in the comic events, but
  5. Sure, but there's a difference between "more obscure" and "literally played zero role in the films" - like even if we're relegating ourselves to specifically only ITSV/ATSV, there are so many characters who played a role in the film or at least HAD LINES IN IT that we likely won't get. Plus, there were plenty of blink-and-you'll-miss-it roles who a lot of people would go crazy for like Unlimited, Kaine, Bombastic Bag-Man, the original Iron Spider, PS4, Future Foundation, Superior, etc. I don't know how many people are popping off over Sun Spider or Werewolf Spider-man. Look, if we get the ISTV/ATSV Spider-Woman, Scarlet Spider, Peni, Noir, Ham, etc (And prowler's here, so let's see at least half of Void Spot, Scorpion, Kingpin, Olivia Ock, Tombstone, and Ultimate Goblin) in sets in the next few years, I'll gladly take it back. But we both know that's probably not happening. Yeah exactly. There are so many variants that aren't known by the average person but have actual roles in the film or comic event, but no, Cowboy, Werewolf, Sun, and Cyborg were the important ones. I do not think the designers came into this CMF with the right priorities. We all would, but that's extremely unlikely. The days of the Harry Potter series are long since gone, I can't remember the last time a CMF had more than 12 minifigures.
  6. Seriously impressive, especially since your last post was 25 minutes ago which implies you wrote all that within 25 minutes. The Lego Group is going to see your post and raise you: V-19 Torrent (p1 clone pilot) V-wing starfighter (P2 clone pilot) Arc-170 (oddball- the clone pilot) headhunter (p2 501st clone pilot, TCW helmet) Republic Gunship (P1 clone commander) Venator Star Destroyer (P2 wolfpack) Acclamator transport (P2 501st trooper) AT-TE (P2 212th trooper) AT-OT (P2 327th trooper) AT-AP (P2 41st trooper) AT-RT (P2 41st scout trooper) Swamp Speeder (generic P2 shiny) SPHA-T (P1 shiny) Republic Cruiser (Commander Thorn) UT-AT (Galactic Marine) Juggarnaut (P2 Commander Gree) TX-130 (P2 purple Mace trooper) LAAT/c (P2 helmeted pilot- shiny) Y-wing starfighter (Matchstick) Nu-Class shuttle (commander ponds) Freeco Speeder (501st snowtrooper) LAAT/le (p2 shock trooper) Rho-Class shuttle (Commander Doom)
  7. Hoping we skimmed it and we actually are getting Jessica and Ben. Nothing enchantress related really happens with Sylvie in Loki Season 2. Really all she has in common with the character are circles on her design and the ability to enchant people. As a side note, Loki season 2 is the best Marvel TV series since netflix daredevil (and I do not say that lightly- it's still not even within striking distance of daredevil just because no other marvel tv shows are, but it's the closest a show has come). It's -again if we exclude netflix daredevil- quite possibly the best character arc in the MCU. I didn't say I agreed with his inclusion, just that I understood the logic behind it- a cat spider man is just a little accessory and for whatever reason they decided to ignore the ITSV supporting cast. It's unlikely given how weirdly prominent the big spider woman was in the merch, but I would vastly prefer this. Aside from the fact that cyborg spider woman wouldn't fit a minifigure well and we're already getting a cyborg spider this year, Lady Spider is not only a cooler design in my opinion but had a role in the spider-verse comic in 2014, which would have been really cool to see. Love the description on that page- "she's from a universe where everyone is a cyborg involved in a robot war" - absolute peak. I've been thinking about this and honestly I think I'd just have preferred a more generic spider-verse CMF- get a couple variants from multiversal spidey events. Here's my idea: <spoiler> [1. Steampunk Lady Spider (Spiderverse 2014) 2. Spider-Armor (1990s cartoon spiderverse arc) 3. Silk (spiderverse 2014) 4. Jessica Drew (spiderverse 2014): comes with the inheritor scroll 5. The Superior Spider-Man (spiderverse 2014): robot arms 6. Peter B Parker (ATSV): Bathrobe, Baby Mayday 7. Miles Morales (ITSV suit) 8. 2099 (ATSV) 9. Spider-Man India (ATSV) 10. Spider-Punk (ATSV) 11. Ben Parker (ATSV) 12. Spider-Man (1960s cartoon- spiderverse 2014)] </spoiler> Still a tough list- there are so many cool spider-men it's missing like Noir, Peni (who honestly just needs to be in a normal set because she needs sp//dr), and PLENTY of the 2014 cast like Spider-Monster Kaine, Karn, Japenese Spider-Man- Emissary from Hell, Mayday, six-armed, spider-goblin, etc, but I think at the very least every character is someone who played some notable role in a spider-verse event.
  8. I get that, but I raise you: My Favorite (mf) MicroFighter (mf) was the Millenium Falcon (MF) because it was a cheap way to get a Han Solo Minifigure (MF). (This is not true at all I just realized if we use the falcon microfighter we can get another mf in there) Though I mean if we're making jokes about the acronym, obviously my favorite microfighter would be if they a made Mace Windu's starfighter microfighter (mf). Yeah, I really am surprised we haven't seen one yet with how much lego loves buildable droids. I do think this means it's possible we get a unique, damaged mold for the nightdeath troopers. It's still possible lego just made a baffling choice, or that there was some lack of communication about the mold being recreated until they'd already decided the figures for the andor set, but it at least leaves open the possibility that the nightdeath troopers will have accurate helmet molds with the "jaw" chunk removed.
  9. He actually is a multiversal variant of the leader: -intelligence required to pull off a movie franchise on a scale never seen before -vast knowledge of the marvel lore -Hulk is denied a solo trilogy and the majority of hulk centric projects end up being somewhere between underwhelming and extremely controversial Assumably the Gamma radiation started wearing off somewhere around 2019-2020. I somewhat understand Werewolf as a way to have a nonhuman spider-man and add some variety in. Don't agree with the decision but I get the logic. On the other hand, while I agree Sun Spider was likely chosen for inclusion reasons, putting aside how big a consideration that should be for who gets cmf spots... Jessica drew would be similarly inclusive but, you know, actually was a character in the movie with lines and stuff. At the end of the day I don't think we can chalk that one up to the design team trying to be "inclusive", because even that wouldn't logically track with leaving Jessica out of the CMF. I think Cyborg spider woman was meant to have a larger role in the film than she did- she's got a build-a-figure character IIRC from hasbro- but it doesn't make sense here because there's no way this started development before the film released. And of course the lack of Ben is absurd as well. (Metro would have been an interesting one but I assume there'd have been a bit of a rights deal since IIRC he's an actual guy, right?) The copium version of this would be that comic versions of Ben and Jessica are coming, but I think they just end up being skipped. Lego has an aversion to giving us desirable spider-suits if the symbiote one is any indication. Sam couldn't get his own writers and director to do better, unfortunately I don't think he can get the lego design team to either.
  10. Yeah I suppose we should've seen it coming. A bit steeper than inflation, but not horrible, especially if they intend on keeping that price for a similar amount of time as they did the $10 price point. Right is right, and wrong is wrong. It's ok to defend a decision you think makes sense regardless of whether it comes from a little guy or a big company. I think I generally agree. $10 in 2014 would "only" be about $13.5 today. I think $13 was a better option, like what the rex microfighter was, but I can get the idea of wanting to keep this $15 price for awhile (similarly to how I don't think the battle packs should have moved to $20 when they did, but I'll be fine if they stick with it a few more years), especially if Plo ISN'T in anything else so we're factoring in an exclusive mold for now. It does cement this as not a buy for me though- probably wouldn't have gotten it for $13 either, I like Plo but he's not a "buy the set just for the character" for me. I still think this is a good idea and am surprised we haven't had one yet. They're more well known than some of the droids we've gotten/are getting, just from the fact that they're everywhere, they're a bit of a meme in areas of the fanbase. I also think that since they could be easily made fairly hollow, a gonk droid that could be used as a pen holder or storage thing, or- what I would do- hold a power bank would be pretty cool. And even then it was two different types of X-wings- a red and white T-65 vs a blue and grey T-70. Honestly we're overdue another X-wing microfighter. The microfighter price increase only makes me wish more and more that they brought the $10, non-gimmick, 2-fig sets from marvel over to here. I assume they have roughly similar licensing fees, and there's plenty of scenes they could use.
  11. Honestly really not a fan of this list at all. The 6 major characters, cool (even if Gwen and Miles are probably just going to look like their normal set versions). It's really weird for Prowler to be here as the only one who isn't a spider variant (unless it's evil miles? Which still doesn't make a ton of sense but at least there's a connetion) Spider-Byte isn't an interesting design to me but at least she had lines and stuff. But then the other 4 are particularly insane to me. We're eschewing characters like Jessica Drew, Peni, Noir, and Scarlet Spider for people who didn't even have lines in the movie? I had to google who Sun Spider is and even then I still don't remember seeing her in the movie, and I spent a LOT of time looking at all the variants around when it came out. I knew it was unlikely this would be a (much more interesting) general spider verse version that also included other ones, but even with it being specifically ATSV version I thought we'd at LEAST get Ben. But no. Sun Spider and Werewolf Spider-Man were more important. I'll be getting 2099 to use as a comic version and nobody else. How is it that we haven't had a Peni mech despite lego loving spider-mechs and Peni having had three separate mech designs in onscreen content (ITSV, ATSV post her canon event, Rivals)?
  12. I know what I said. We don't know what's under that baseball cap... My first instinct was "they can't do this", but... it is the same theme. It shares a budget. I still think it's unlikely but it's definitely not impossible.
  13. Is Kevin Feige huffing terrigen mist? I'm sorry for putting it so bluntly, but honestly, this is an insane move. This would be concerning even if the MCU was in a good spot- this would be like if infinity war starred Maestro as Thanos and then the real thanos was only in endgame. I have the same hope, but given it's less family-focused than most of the rest of the MCU, and we tend not to get sets later on unless it's an endgame or NWH level hit, I don't really expect it even if the movie is a sleeper hit. (Because realistically, it's not going to be NWH level.) I've talked before about my thoughts on Sabra, but given that both the movie's character and figure are just a generic agent/widow, yeah, I'd be down for this. At least leader, as inaccurate as he is to the comics, would be recognizable as the leader, and he's a somewhat major omission for a theme that's gone on this long. Though then you've got nobody to pilot the jet against Red Hulk.
  14. I agree on the general principle, but I still think the earlier eras of microfighters were a lot more focused on the vehicle, and since the shift to the modern era in 2020-2022, we're a lot more focused on the minifigures. Yup- I think 2026 we get some mando and grogu sets (but potentially not even a full wave) and then more or less a full repeat of 2025.
  15. Is this not in itself evidence of a paradigm shift or strategy change? To be- not to be FAIR, I guess, since it doesn't really make things better, but I would like to point out the clone sets are just most of the playscale sets in general. 18+ normally don't have bad ppps due to the lack of minifigures. I like MiFis, though alongside MF the falcon has another acronym with an ... alternate meaning. We're already hearing from a lot of clone bros (and some just standard fans of the clone wars) that they'd be OK with lego slowing down AFTER the wolfpack and kashyyyk troopers come. And from lego's perspective, if they believe these to be good sellers, we'll see them next year. Personally I think this is too much and about half the sets crash and burn, but the turnaround time isn't enough to stop a clone-heavy 2026.
  16. Not since the rumor it includes 40 minifigures, which I'm still skeptical of. C'mon, there's ABSOLUTELY been a paradigm shift. In the first half of microfighter's existence we got a ton of microfighters, most of them with generic pilots or soldiers. Since the line changed to like one microfighter a year, the microfighters started becoming a lot more about being a cheap way to get desirable minifigures. Boba, Mando and Grogu, Captain Rex, apparently Plo Koon. The last time a generic showed up in a microfighter was 4 years ago, in the last dual pack. When we got larger numbers of microfighters, they were primarily composed of generic pilots. I don't need a written statement from lego to notice what was a clear shift over time. What's more, in a broader sense, I don't see any sense in regulating discussion and speculation to things that are concretely proven- it'd make leak season pretty boring.
  17. Or as might be more realistic for this theme, another universe's character's quote of "expect disappointment and you'll never be disappointed" I'm always up for gamblecore jokes, Venom's gambling addiction speedrun was the best part of his last movie, but isn't the whole point of the monkey's paw that it perverts the intention of your wishes? You'd have to convince yourself that you wanted something other than you do. I agree on that- this isn't a set kids are going for anyway, so it's not a "the main cast needs to always be availible" situation. If we have to choose between a good build and good figures, I'd rather have a good set with subpar figures than a trash set that equates to buying 10-15 minifigs at $27-40 each. Of course it's lego DC so it'll be both. That said, I gotta be honest, at the end of the day, I don't really care. I like batman, I like DC, but it's more of "I'll watch most of the movies"/"I have/want minifigures of the main league" rather than something I'd drop essentially my full yearly lego budget on in terms of the Arkham Modular's, what, $400 price? Lego was never going to get me to open my wallet for Arkham. They'd get me on smaller or medium sized sets with leagures, but I have enough batmen, I have a joker. They've lost my money already with the state of the theme- the specifics of Arkham won't matter.
  18. Why would you say this in a DC thread unless courting disaster?
  19. I think it HAS to be a new mold, right? The old one's gone by now and I can't imagine they try to get away with a printed head and a hood or something. So yeah, like you say, I think he has to show up somewhere else, though I find it strange he didn't already. If lego thinks he can sell a microfighter (because 99% of the time now these are selling the fig, not the ship), I can't imagine why they wouldn't have dropped a $100 set with plo to get some sales off that, then put him in the microfighter for any plo fans who weren't dropping 100+ on the larger set. No problem (though I think Joebiwan was just joking)- I'll make my joke, but I do my best to be polite when answering questions. It does, for no other reason than lego's recent choices I can only assume were caused by their hiring of Lama Su and Taun We as CEO and COO respectively, but it just seems to odd to do this out of order. Assumably it would be more profitable to have plo in the larger set first, then the microfighter, like Rex in the Venator.
  20. This guys thinks the Arkham set will have ROOMS? It'll be a $200 batmobile (still the size of the ones that have been $30/48/60 over the last five year) as well as a big facade and some road on a black base. The only included figures will be Batman and Joker (4+ face and hair, jumpsuit with exclusive new torso print) This way whatever we actually get will feel like a win.
  21. Thanks! Here's two more quick ones: Fantasticar Ambush ($37.99): The Fantasticar with H.E.R.B.I.E., Mr. Fantastic, the Invisible Woman, Storm, and Wolverine. Vampbuster ($109.99): Massive Iron Man Vampbuster suit with Blood Edge Iron Man, Blood Soldier Bucky, Blood Karuido Psylocke, Blood Beserker Wolverine, Blood Soul Adam Warlock, Blood Hunter Moon Knight, Dracula, and two Vampires. (Thought it was about time to start putting some lore villains in the sets, and we've seen the vamps in the gallery cards.) If we get one thing from Rivals, it'll be a Jeff, maybe a buildable one. Marvel loves their buildable, he and Luna are practically the game mascots, and I mean c'mon, It's Jeff! It would be nice to see lego drop bits and pieces from more recent comics into sets every now and again. 2026 and 2027 Modulars: 2026: Avengers Mansion (comic based, $399.99): Massive avengers mansion. There's an external gate with a small courtyard leading to the building itself, which is raised a floor above the ground. The central section contains the entrance and main hallway with a staircase to the second floor. In the basement there's a workshop for Tony with space for three suits, as well as a set of two prison cells and a hanger bay for a midi-scale Quinjet with foldable wings. The first floor contains a conference room and armory on one wing and a training room and lab on the other. The second floor contains a small kitchen and 5 bedrooms- Cap's, Iron man's, Thor's, Hulk's, and a generic one. On the roof, there's a falcon nest, wakandan shrine, water tower, and a microscale bedroom/lab for ant man/wasp inside what looks like an AC unit. There aren't many "play features" per se since it's a modular, but turrets can be extended out of the ground in the courtyard. Comes with 27 minifigures: 18 Heroes: Iron Man (red/gold), Iron Man (original yellow suit), Captain America (classic blue with scales), Thor (Classic with helmet), Hulk (Bigfig), Hawkeye (purple and navy), Black Widow (gold belt and stingers), Ant-Man (classic red with helmet), Wasp (classic yellow and black dress), Black Panther (with cape), Ms. Marvel (black suit with lightning bolt), Falcon (classic red), Scarlet Witch (Classic reds), Vision (classic green/yellow/red), Quicksilver (classic light blue), USAgent (black suit with red/white stripes), Thunderstrike, Tigra 3 Civilians: Rick Jones, Pepper Potts, Jarvis (Human butler) 6 Villains: Ultron (using the ant-man helmet mold), Baron Zemo, The Enchantress, Abomination (bigfig), Kang, and Grim Reaper. Also included are classic Ant-Man and Wasp Microfigs, a buildable M.O.D.O.K, and Redwing the falcon. 2027: Marvel Knights: New York City ($349.99): Sort of like a larger version of Assembly Square, consisting of three smaller buildings in a row. The leftmost building is Fisk Tower, with stairs leading to the raised entrance. There's a side entrance to a basement Bar with No Name underneath (maybe called the "Restaurant with no name" in the instructions/box). The second floor is a more generic reception area with Fisk's Office above it. The middle section is a warehouse, with crates, open space for Punisher's War Van, and a hidden punisher hideout in the back. The rightmost building contains the Midnight Mission on the first floor with Nelson and Murdock above it. Also included is Punisher's War Van. Comes with 25 minifigures, generally styled like the more modern comics: 11 Heroes: Daredevil (Dark red suit), Moon Knight, Mr. knight, The Punisher, Electra, Spider-Man (standard red/blue), Cloak, Dagger, Luke Cage, Iron Fist, Jessica Jones. 6 Civilians (mostly re-used parts with a few new head/torso prints where necessary): Matthew Murdock, Foggy Nelson, Karen Page, Reese Williams, James Wesley, Vanessa Fisk. 8 Villains: Kingpin, Taskmaster, Beetle, Bullseye, Midnight Man, Mister Negative, Tombstone, and 8-Ball.
  22. Yes, assumably a wolfpack trooper. (Just kidding- I can't imagine they'd stop coming with minifigures after this long, and it'll be Plo of course. I still wonder if we were meant to get something with him last year- a new mold in a microfighter is strange.)
  23. Rebels sets, a new Jabba's Palace, an AT-OT, some Battle of Ryloth stuff, maybe some Kotor stuff (mission vao) or even sets in the Cade era- the summer of Twi'leks would be a top-tier wave. I'll fight you on this, there's nothing wrong with saying legos. 50/50 they either refuse to acknowledge it and say something like "oh, those guys are clones?" in an interview, or it's like 2023 where some unrelated project/date is used to make up an anniversary. Get ready for the 1x4x3 brick with exclusive "Star Wars: Republic Issue #45 20th anniversary" print.
  24. I assume it was moreso "we don't think this project will appeal to kids as much, and our sales data for many of our MCU tie-ins has been low as of late". Doesn't seem like Disney's pushing this one particularly hard given other merch companies haven't put much out, and it's not like Disney would want lego putting out tie-ins that don't sell. I think they made the wrong choice about which movie to avoid but I get why they did it. Going off the War Machine Buster's name, it'd imply this was a Dr. Doom hulkbuster suit, which would in turn imply Dr. Doom in Doomsday would just be an eeevil iron man with a green cloak, which is too scarily realistic to what marvel might try for me to think about. I agree- and yeah, I think they're struggling right now. Even if the Thunderbolts and F4 DO end up being good, which I have some hope for, the avengers themselves are... doomed. (Sorry, I couldn't resist). They just don't have characters people care about anymore. A bunch of replacements without the spark the originals had, alongside Thor and Hulk, who are shells of their former selves as characters, reduced to comedy sidekicks. Infinity War had what I consider the best onscreen Thor. Maybe they'll save him and hulk again. But I doubt it. And even if they do, it won't be enough to carry the film. Like I've been saying, the future of the MCU is all up to the Thunderbolts and the Fantastic Four.
  25. As am I. I am hoping it's general spider-verse and not specifically the movies. I love the movies and a CMF just of their variants certainly wouldn't be bad, but there are a lot of great spiders not in the movies I'd like figures of. What's funny is even the joke list won't work as well as it did for endgame. -Hulkbuster's not a guarantee- I guess they did the WMB last time, so they could remake it, but it leads to the larger issue of without iron man, they can't do a hall of armor, hulkbusters are tougher, etc. -Obviously lego's no stranger to unnecessary vehicles but a Cap bike would be kind of laughable with his wings sticking out. Even with the figures, it's rough. No Steve, no Tony, no Nat, no T'Challa. Hulk and Thor are shells of their former selves. Hawkeye returning is no guarantee. From what I've been reading the Thunderbolts and F4 are actually confirmed to be in Doomsday, so a LOT is riding on them both. I still disagree on this- Winter Soldier makes him fairly likeable and does give us a fair bit of his life story- he was part of the military, he lost his wingman, he has trouble living out of the fight and works as a sort of PTSD councilor to help other people find peace. It's not Steve or Tony level backstory but for a supporting character it's done well. But as to your wider point, yes, I think we have now seen that Sam cannot carry a film, and neither can many of the remaining characters. It's like I said- the F4 and Thunderbolts NEED to be good, and be big, for the MCU to regain it's footing.
