  1. Welcome to eurobricks, very solid analysis and good points. The only thing I'll say- and I may have missed something, you've clearly done your research- is that if they are Mando Movie sets, they're almost certainly a Razor Crest and AT-AT rather than two location sets. Location sets are much rarer than vehicles in SW and we already know those two are coming. This would be an excellent set and I've had one in the works as a MOC for awhile, but PLEASE let the OT have just a few system retail sets. There were/are literally zero this year.
  2. I almost hope Jeff isn't in this one, he seems to have a pretty different design from Rivals in this show and there's no way we get two Jeff molds anytime soon.
  3. Same. Actually, it's such a generic base level "imperial/rebel" that it has me thinking either it's educated guesses, or lego's put "token OT set" on some internal list somewhere. I could unironically see the 2020 snowspeeder+side build going for $100 in Lego's 2026.
  4. As @Takanuinuva says, they'd never be able to do robots that transform into construction vehicles and limbs, not without the set being $700 and having zero articulation in combined mode or something. (Which I guess is possible, but I don't see happening). Vehicles into a single devastator unit I could see mechanically happening, but I feel like it's an odd choice of a set when we have so many other famous characters left to do. It's not impossible, the rumored Energon Universe show is based on a comic that contains both franchises within it's universe.
  5. We did get two 18+ sets this past January, the midi-scale acclamator and Home one. To be fair, all the 18+ gimmick lines flit about erratically. The dioramas appear to be gone, for instance, and we're now introducing the busts, which cover a very similar niche as the helmets.
  6. I mistakenly wrote down the May the Fourth contest's due date as July 5th, only realizing it was actually the 1st after it was too late, which stalled this a bit further, but here's my asymmetrical ship: It doesn't look like much yet, but that's sort of the point, as you'll see in later images- there's more to it than meets the eye. You may notice it's carrying four separate faction symbols, which is part of it's lore. The ship's owner, the honorable Margrave Keresh Ve'tal, was a former republic intelligence officer who, due to his myriad connections, was simply encouraged to retire as republic turned to empire rather than executed outright. He ostensibly turned to collecting antiques and finding historical artifacts, and accordingly contracted from Fondor what would outwardly appear to be a simple freighter. However, while never formally part of the rebel alliance, the Margrave partook in some less-than-legal activity, requiring his ship to have various allegiances and names, such as War Dawn, Destiny's Light, and The Fool's Errand. When the galactic civil war ended, the margrave started flying all faction symbols as a sort of private joke, and settled the ship's name on the Spring Eternal after an ancient Kaleesh poem. One tip-off that the ship isn't what it appears to be is it's immense quantity of engines, 29 in total. The ship, despite it's outward appearance and functionality as a freighter, is, as you can see, heavily armed with a variety of hidden weapons. At the top rear we have two heavy laser cannons that fold out from the top, as well as two hatches that open to reveal chaff launchers to evade seeking missiles. The pod on the port side of the ship pushes open to reveal a gatling cannon (it was difficult to build in the function for it to both slide forward and still be able to rotate the gear to fire), with the bubble canopy behind it gaining a turret (This one is sort of a cheat, the turret's just attached by a chain, you have to manually attach it to the roof after pulling it out.) It also features ion launchers that fold out of each side of the ship, as well as- Ground buzzers that flip down from the cockpit and weapons pod, and Proton torpedo launchers on the underside of the ship. (Don't look at the technic mess) Here's a better look at the chaff launchers, as well as an opened hatch that provides access to the hyperdrive. Here's the interior of the ship with some cargo. The Margrave's office. Behind his desk you can see some of his collection- a 501st banner, a lightsaber (unfortunately missing it's kyber crystal) and a black pennant. I messed up and didn't take pictures until it was already closed up, so you'll have to take my word for it that his bed is to one side, and to the other are two pedestals containing a Magnaguard head and a jewel. From front to back, we have the hallway to the cockpit, which contains access to the shield generator, followed by the Chevin Lephan Hof's quarters, then Rajun Torc's quarters. Lephan Hof is the Margrave's historian and personal friend, who joined him immediately after the margrave's forced retirement. Rajun is a Kage Warrior rescued from the empire by Ve'tal and Hof, who serves as a chef and bodyguard. Lephan collects ancient oddities that function similarly to holocrons, but in the format of thin sheets bound together by animal hide. Here are the quarters of the new hires to the Margrave's expeditions. In front, we have Leki Vrash, the daughter of a Corsec officer who serves as the group's scout. In the back, we have Charkol Page, a mechanic who's cobbled together makeshift mandalorian armor. Here's a look at the opened ramp and how the lighting (or lack thereof) works. The ramp latches into the 1x2 slopes on the front hatch, meaning that lifting it up causes the ramp to lower to the ground. A very small look at the one of the sliding doors, this one in front of Lephan's quarters. Everyone's rooms have a door, though Rajun and Charkol's are hinged rather than sliding. The crew. In the very center is our Margrave Keresh Ve'tal. On the bottom row (L-R) we have Lephan Hof and Rajun Torc, and on the top we have new unarmored figures of Charkol Page (left) and Leki Vrash (right). There are also two droids- to the margrave's left, pilot droid T1-5HA, and to the right, GNK-3. Lephan stuck humanoid footwear on GNK's lower appendages to muffle the noise of his shuffling across the ship. I also have fifteen figures I designed for the cantina entry, which was to be an outdoor establishment on a jungle planet, built around a giant tree. I never got around to building the cantina, so I thought I'd drop them all here as well: (Top left to bottom right): 1. Bade Windrest, slightly force-enhanced martial artist. He hangs around the bar mainly hoping for a strong newcomer he can goad into fighting him. 2. The Angel of Tund, a mysterious being that's never before been seen entering the cantina, or any establishment, to the memory of the locals. 3. Atria Skycall, brawler, currently serving as the establishment's bouncer. 4. Abaline Hestia, slicer. She finds it difficult to find work due to her refusal to take jobs she's not morally comfortable with, which narrows down slicer openings significantly. 5. Kenvo Tscech, bounty hunter. He was once a man, but years ago Kenvo contracted a technological virus that's slowly eating away at his flesh, leaving him more droid than organic. 6. Milana Jens, a historian studying the Jedi now that the fall of the empire permits it. 7. Elian Vane, a solitary biologist who has a deal with the cantina to purchase restricted chemicals through the establishment. 8. Peba Enkk, bounty hunter, famous for speaking very rarely and never failing to capture a bounty once she takes the contract. 9. Garzen Loch, a hermit who's lost a good deal of flesh on his right side, something he attributes to Elian Vane's experiments. (Vane vehemently denies this.) 10. Pacho Nu'un, a Corsec agent and friend of Leki Vrash's father. The Spring Eternal's crew is visiting the cantina to meet with him. 11. Jevan Yfes'k'ren, owner and proprietor of the cantina. A veteran of the early days of the galactic civil war before an imperial bioweapon gave him a breathing condition. 12. Wardem Alars, the Red Sage, on a pilgrimage for a religion he's the last follower of. 13. Muxal Z'tak, a pilot for hire, down on his luck. 14. Marston Oklib, a ship designer Pacho's taken off Correlia to protect from the White Worm cartel. He's to be transferred to the Spring Eternal and brought to a safe location. 15. Leeko, a rodian farmer I'm a little bummed I messed up the dates and couldn't get this into the contest in time, but I'm really happy with how it turned out. Let me know what you think of it!
  7. It would really be a nice opportunity to get some small sets out there as well, but I feel much more confident in replicating lego's casseticon strategy than replicating full-size transformers. We have official Ravage and Laserbeak, which gets us Buzzsaw as well via a color swap (and Glit, but he's obscure.) Once I get soundwave I'll personally be working on a humanoid template and a bat template to get Ratbat, Rumble, and Frenzy. From there I might start doing the more obscure ones, but at the very least I want to be able to have what I view as his main minions (Laserbeak, Ravage, Ratbat, Rumble, Frenzy) A GWP would be nice, though unfortunately it seems unlikely.
  8. Oh it's actively in the trailer that was at celebration a year ago, he for sure has one- I believe it leaked that we'd be getting one as well? You really do have a chance at it now. Interesting. I wonder if we're back to larger 1HYs, or if the march and may waves are being gutted. (Which I wouldn't mind either of) Don't you mean WOOKIEE WEEKEND? (Man, that was a sad attempt to replicate force friday. Plus it fell on the weekend of April 20th, which in the states at least led to a number of unfortunate jokes)
  9. Yeah, exactly. Still would have been annoying, but it would have been something. (Honestly, I wouldn't have minded a Cody or Fox mech. Something with a named character locked behind an expensive set. This is clearly meant as army builder bait, and I despise the idea.) Aw man, I hadn't considered that the rebel set could be the crest. The mando speeder arguably should have been an accurately sized scout walker, but I'm just glad to get a non-gimmick set at that price point. Not necessarily. I assume this is along the same lines as the 6+ simba- a small toy action figure on shelves at the same time as a larger, more adult-focused variant. Are these all just january? I'd assumed this was all our 1HY. (Also, I swear we used to get the sets for the new star wars movie in late september/early october, about 2.5 months out from the movie. Later than January would be, for sure, but not just one month out.) No, your point is absolutely valid. It's perfectly reasonable to be aggravated in lego's set choices, especially when they're this strange, precisely BECAUSE there's limited slots and they can't make everything. Especially in a time when there's so few system sets in the first place, being annoyed when lego makes odd choices for these sets is very understandable.
  10. Yup. Those "leaks" that he was bumblebee size had me worried, but he's the right size after all. Of course. I'm sure Ransom will be giving us a BBM and IDW Soundwave from this set. I think so, unfortunately. We'll have to make Rumble (blue) and Frenzy (red) ourselves.
  11. 440- MAKE IT STOP! MAKE IT STOP! I guess at least it's not a clone vehicle, but we're going to have three small AT-ATs within less than a year, this one being an 18+ gimmick set. 443- This was the one I figured out before being told. It, alongside the clone trooper, is one of the single worst things this theme could get. It's taking the 18+ buildable gimmick line and making it so the younger age ratings aren't safe anymore. Any set could be a buildible gimmick set. When they started getting too numerous, they at least stuck to the higher age ratings while doing it, but now no set slot is safe. 421 and 23, ok, those have some potential, but the fact that all they can give us is the faction is not good news.
  12. Mando's at least a little excusable since it's his movie, though it's still a very bad sign that lego doesn't have the confidence to do a wave of movie sets, and at least half of them appear to be based on earlier mandoverse content. It's the same thing as the 332nd battle pack sequel, you guys can't even bother to make a new print for another legion?
  13. You were on the right track, surprisingly close. UCS Sidon Ithano mech, first $1000+ set. Yup. If I had the space for it, I'd probably find a way to wing the price anyway, but as is I'd have to go buy a new table just to get it. It's so weird to me that "Cad Bane vs time-travelling Cobb Vanth" and "Mando's speeder bike" are the unequivocable wave highlights. Neither are bad per se, it's nice to get Cad and Cobb and it's great news that we're getting $10 non gimmick sets, but even as recently as 2024 if you'd told me that those two sets would be the best of the wave I wouldn't believe you. These being the new ones- Mando's speeder bike: Alright, this is something, there's some hope. The particular choice is kind of nothing for anyone who's been collecting more than six months, but it's a solid set in concept, a good impulse buy for parents to get their kids after watching the mando movie, and the FORMAT is very important. A $10 non-gimmick set is excellent. Clone shock trooper mech: This is incredible, I assumed it would be a clone but it's worse than I thought, they've chosen an accessoryless battle pack unit. Had it been a galactic marine or 327th trooper or 212th trooper (who wasn't in a $6 magazine in the states) it would have been something, but this is spectacularly bad. I think the only legion that would have been worse here is the 501st/332nd. Buildable BB8. This would have been fine in a vacuum, or in a wave like the TLJ wave where it was the only buildable alongside a batch of system sets, but here it's just another buildable in a sea of them. So annoying. It is interesting that it's a sequel set, but they still refuse to put figures out on shelves. The best LSW news we've had all year.
  14. 75449 being the mandos and clones battle pack, right? The mech being only $15 is interesting- glad to see that at least one set next year is going to be better value than those the previous year, even if it's just a gimmick set. I wonder who the character will be. Yeah, it's (unfortunately) looking like the highlight of the HY for me. I'm a fan of Cobb's character, so while it's going to be a weird look for the set with him anachronistically suited up, if the build is a good parts pack I'll likely buy it to display Cobb and Cad in their own separate groups.
  15. This review has 100% sold me on the set. It really does seem like a standout and the best transformer. And it IS about as big as optimus! I knew that leak saying it was the size of bumblebee was wong!
  16. This is like a mini version of what @Ransom Fern does to the marvel designers. Feels like a straight upgrade to the official build, very impressive. It is, I'm very excited to pick it up.
  17. Don't ask questions you don't want the answer to. Absolutely. Rivendell is probably the most beautiful (feels like a weird description of a lego set, but I think it's accurate) set I've ever seen and I'll probably never own it. They're reissuing the ARC-170 with a different windscreen color. It's always funny to me that whenever they decide to do the "only the best is good enough" on a star wars set it's for something nobody was complaining about. I'm going to need someone to put one in each of Finch Dallow's hands and upload the picture here.
  18. All good sets, and I actually think a standard republic gunship in 2027 with that pilot makes a lot of sense- the coruscant one will have retired by then. I can help out there- ANH wave, just like I used to do, with an updated structure: Droid Escape Pod ($9.99): Small escape pod that can fit the included C-3PO and R2-D2. TIE Advanced Microfighter ($12.99): Darth Vader (New helmet with red lenses) Sandtrooper Battle Pack ($19.99): 4x Sandtrooper (3x black pauldron, 1x orange pauldron) Rebel Command ($34.99): Rebel ground crew vehicle, small crane and fuel tanks, and a bit of the Yavin temple with a turret. Comes with 3x Rebel Fleet Trooper, 1x Rebel Honor Guard, 1x Rebel Ground Crew, and an astromech droid. Rescuing the Princess ($59.99): Consists of two levels- the first being the detention block with the console Han blasts and a small hallway leading to Leia's cell. The hallway includes a chute figures can be dropped through into the lower level- the trash compactor. Includes Princess Leia, Han Solo (stormtrooper), Luke Skywalker (Stormtrooper), an Imperial Officer, and an Imperial Navy Trooper, as well as a brick-built dianoga. Y-wing Starfighter ($79.99): New Y-wing design including Jon "Dutch" Vander, a rebel astromech droid, Dex Tiree, a visiting Jek Porkins, and 2 stormtroopers. Mos Eisley Cantina ($109.99): Cantina (essentially a scaled down version of the MBS layout- a central bar with two folding wings, each containing 2 booths and one other room- the droid scanner/entrance on one side and a stage on the other. Comes with Luke Skywalker, Han Solo, Ben Kenobi, Greedo, Wuher, Chalmun, Wolfman, a Duros pilot, Ponda Baba, and Dr. Evezan. Trench Run ($149.99): Luke Skywalker's Red Five (optimized version of the 2024 X-wing with a proton torpedo launcher function), a TIE advanced, two turbolaser turret tower builds with small interiors, and a build of the exhaust port with an explode function. Comes with Luke Skywalker, R2-D2, Wedge Antilles, Biggs Darklighter, Darth Vader, 1x TIE Pilot, 2x Death Star Gunner, and Moff Tarkin. The Millenium Falcon ($159.99): Millenium Falcon (next iteration of the design. Slightly smaller- the falcon is one ship I do think has gotten too big- but with more accurate shaping and detailing). Comes with Han Solo, Chewbacca, Princess Leia, Luke Skywalker, C-3PO, R2-D2, Ben Kenobi, and 2x Spacetrooper. UCS: Tantive IV ($499.99): Massive Tantive IV ship with all notable interior rooms- the main hallway, the cockpit, the room where Antilles meets his end, where Leia records her message, and the escape pod launch bay. Includes Princess Leia (new molded hood), Captain Antilles, 2x Rebel Fleet Trooper, C-3PO, R2-D2, Darth Vader, Dane Jir, 3x Stormtrooper, and George Lucas with a 50th anniversary plaque. Lego shop.com exclusive: Concept Luke Skywalker vs Darth Vader ($49.99): Tantive IV hallway, similar size as the recent set but built more like a diorama than a playset, and colored according to the shading in the famous painting. Includes four minifigures: Luke Skywalker with breathing mask and yellow lightsaber, Darth Vader with new curved helmet mold and a blue lightsaber, and 2 Mcquarrie Stormtroopers with white lightsabers and shields. The lightsabers all have 1x1 open studs right above the hilt to represent the different shape in the paintings. GWP: The Complete Saga 20th anniversary ($4.99 value): Rebel Friend, a minikit build, and a small plaque commemorating 20 years of lego star wars: the complete saga.
  19. I assume the nose underside is due to the speeder function, right? Just like I'd assume an ESB speeder to not include the A-wing wings. Lego's had a lot of missteps this wave, but I do trust them to take what works from the new snowspeeder without taking the more "force burnery" elements. It is funny that lego's now had two projects where they omitted the droid main character. (I assume it's because they'd require new molds, but at the same time, was it more important to make a Pyke helmet they'd never re-use than an L337 head/body?)
  20. I understand, and if there isn't a Cad next year I'll throw some sort of remorseful comment about it into my signature. To be fair, if you refuse to put the item on sale a full decade into it warming your shelves, that may become a you problem. It would be a bad choice for the movie on an objective level, but to be honest I don't have a ton of faith in this movie as a whole, I have Pedro Pascal Fatigue, and I think it would be really, really funny for them to pull Cad showing up out of nowhere as a surprise big bad who the GA doesn't know for a second time. Especially if Boba's not even involved in TMAG so it's mando fighting... some guy he saw his friend fight one time.
  21. My view, as someone who really doesn't like the Bay Movies, is they're at least better than the franchise literally dying, which is what Hasbro seemed determined to do. And at least even though movie wise we might just have Bay, show wise, if the rumors are to be believed, we might be getting the best transformers cartoon ever made with the Energon Universe adaption. We're either at or rapidly approaching the point where more people know what a minicassette player is from Soundwave than... you know, minicassette players. I agree, it would be absurd to expect lego to solve the partsforming when hasbro themselves haven't solved it. The G1 theme and Soundwave Superior would be enough, but I really hope we get "Ravage, Eject" and "urr urr ehhh eeh ahh ahh eh" or however you prefer to spell the noise.
  22. As is so often the case. I have been enjoying Rivals's characterization of her as the #1 Jeff the Land Shark fan. Adds a fun and family-friendly layer to her. Awesome, always happy to see him poking up, even if it's not on this forum. Love the sticker comment, it's very true. Edit. He's ba-aack. Always fun to see his disguise evolve- his name and profile aren't a clear tip off this time, but he's got a unique speech pattern and no one else on this forum links stuff. Always happy to watch the Turtle persona evolve.
  23. Nice. And vaguely canon to some extent? I feel like either this happened or Emma was trying to get it to happen. Including the DC theme, I hope.
  24. Aside from what you mentioned, a midi-scale Venator (a year after the acclamator) and a Vader Bust, because the star wars designers keep peeking at marvel's subthemes for their next gimmick line. There are more out there as well, and trust me, what we do know is the highlight of the HY. No. The quality aside, I assume lego's returning to TBoBF because no matter what people think of his characterization, it's still a Boba Fett tv show, it's still Cad Bane, it's still a time-travelling Cobb Vanth somehow wearing boba's armor, if the leak is to be believed. You can think there were issues with the show and still want Cad and Cobb, or kids can not have liked the show but not even care about it being FROM a show and just want Cad and the guy in Boba Fett armor. The best you can say about acolyte in that regard is that kids would see generic jedi/sith archtypes, which... lightsaber users aren't exactly as rare as Cad. The Young Jedi sets have them and also are constantly on gigantic discounts (which might be the best way for you to get some HR torsos- I think most of the figures wear generic-ish white and gold robes, right?) I would be very surprised if the lego Cad hint didn't pan out. You can rest easy knowing he'll almost certainly be in an affordable (for lego 2025 standards) set next year. Agreed- the printed robes work because it's difficult to convey with existing cloth (Lego tends to use a cape, which just doesn't work IMO), whereas the kama is pretty easy to convey with the pattern lego used. Not to mention that "the best would be dual-molded side leg printed kamas" might work in a vacuum but will never happen on every lego figure that needs a kama, in which case I prefer the consistency. If the better method only works in theory and not practice, it's not the better method. Understandable ones to forget.
  25. If they're still too scared to do the other 3 members of the decepticon's big four, Grimlock is definitely the next up. Primal would be really tricky, since you're shifting from a blocky G1 aesthetic to a much more round and organic looking one. I'm not sure they'd be able to do it.
