  1. Here's the thing- unlike a lot of star wars sets nowadays, I don't think the death star is overpriced. I think it does legitimately represent solid value for the cost. If they split the dioramas and figures up to like 20 sets totaling $1000 between them, I think the value would be there- I mean, with this single $100 set the value is hypothetically there. I just don't see too many people dropping $1000 on a single set. See, I like the wolfpack, and unless it's the $45 battle pack I'd probably pick at least one up, but there's so many "just one more legion" style comments, when I think all that does is continue the oversaturation- they're already doing partial repeats this year with the half-332nd battle pack. I think you just pause on the clone battle packs 1-1.5 years, then you drop a wolfpack, then the next year a 41st, then a 212th or popping back to 501st or something. If we can just get it down to one a year, I'd be happy.
  2. It would be a very fun choice, though I think if it doesn't show up in doomsday it's pretty unlikely. It's rare for lego to throw us the bone of something actually straight out of the comics build-wise. The only scenario in which I think this is at all likely is if lego thought the superman movie was going to do a lot better than it did, in which case you'd imagine they'd have actually made tie-in sets around the release. I doubt lego stops making marvel modulars out of nowhere, they seem to do pretty well. My guess is 2026 is going to be another marvel modular, and if Arkham does gangbusters, we'll get a comic Batcave or something in 2027. Reverse monkey's paw- Wouldn't you know it, he was part of a lot I got on eBay to part out awhile back and I totally forgot. I'm pretty happy with him- cyclops has always been one of my favorite X-men, which is weird because I haven't really seen all that much content with him in it, and I didn't find either of his movie versions particularly interesting. He's a lot of fun. Took me almost two years to get ahold of him, but he's everything I wanted him to be. He'll be going in a central spot in my collection. That same lot also included a few other figures I'll be holding on to, namely one of the Amazing Friends spideys and Killian. I'm using Killian's torso for an Iron Fist, and I've been wanting that Amazing Friends spidey head for awhile, the eyes remind me of the 90s Todd Mcfarlene designs.
  3. Fantasti- I mean, World between Worlds. I can't believe lego's fumbled the ball to the point that me and people like the guy who literally has "clone" in his name are nauseous at the thought of a Wolfpack Battle Pack. It's a bit silly but not unheard of- those January waves after december movies were always "spoiler" waves that didn't actually include spoilers. Yup, I think that's gonna be the issue. It seems cool, it honestly seems like decent value in terms of PPP/PPG/PPVolumeofstuff, but at the end of the day $1000 on a single set is $1000 on a single set, no matter whether or not it's good value. Whatever the odds, here's hoping. It is kind of funny how many $70 price point sets are coming up. I believe the Tantive IV hallway last year was a March release, but it was also the only system set in the wave. The March wave does have me cautiously optimistic, it's a good assortment of mid-range sets that based on the ages will just be normal system sets. And since they seem to be sandwiched between two clone battle pack waves, I think we can hope that there's some other factions represented here. I'm gonna guess the $40 one is a Snowspeeder, but not get my hopes up for anything.
  4. Precisely ~$25ish, which is bad but as far as rare lego figures go, it could be far, far worse. Too bad he's even that much, though, he has a very Matt Smith face.
  5. I would hope it's just because they just haven't finished the titular Starfighter yet or are waiting to do a big reveal of it. Lucasfilm has a bad habit of having clearly cancelled films that the directors are in denial about the status of. If only we had a way to alter reality, some way to connect the dream world to the real world. A World between Worlds, if you would. To be fair, resistance came out after the Rebels wave underpreformed, and lego was absurdly cautious about tv show tie-ins (and we still did get two sets, even if it was kind of odd to choose Black Ace over the Fireball). Starfighter is a live-action theatrically releasing movie, which lego's never skimped out on before. This is good news. We can finally be... optimistic for the 1HY. With the TMAG sets confirmed as the May ones, that march wave is looking excellent. Four new mid-range sets opening up. As is, though, the only confirmed sets that interest me are the $10 speeder- more for the price point than anything- and the Advanced, which I think we can now confirm is 100% an advanced and likely without a smart brick gimmick. That would be nice, maybe with Canon Talon (Now with maul as Lucas intended). It needs to happen. Sure, why not.
  6. I think you misread my comment. You were claiming that kids aren't interested in prequel era stuff because the prequels are older movies, and I brought up Ahsoka and a New Hope to point out that that argument logically holds no water. If it was true that kids didn't want sets based on older content, from the very start of the theme there wouldn't be OT sets. (Ahsoka brought up as the counterbalance- despite being new content, I would be shocked if nearly as many kids have seen it as the original movies- though it is also quite good.) Do you mean to tell me the 1999 X-wing playset was meant for adults? I wouldn't be surprised if fan wishlists played a role in what specific legions we get, and there's obvious situations where lego's throwing a figure into a set as a bone for collectors (though it's also important to note there that PLENTY of people in lego's target age ranges are commenting on instagram/youtube/whatever, and watching the Clone Bro videos), but no, lego is not primarily designing these sets for adults. I mean, come on, let's be serious here. Lego system sets are children's toys. They have stud shooters and other play features and there's a clear disconnect in building techniques between sets meant for kids and 18+ sets. The age on the box is 6-12. I mean, why would lego be making all these 18+ gimmick sets at all if they were making system sets primarily for adults? Now that is a call I can join. I'd hope so- I know a late August teaser may be a little far out for a may release, but it's not unheard of, and Star Wars has always started the marketing early. This is going to be a tricky one to market- the focus needs to be that this isn't Mando season 4, this is the first new star wars movie. The film itself should be fine just being a more bombastic and climactic version of your average Mando S1/S2 episode, just a fun popcorn movie, but the focus needs to be on movie theatre star wars as separate from disney+ star wars. Personally I would have held off on movies until the loose HTTE adaption and set that for 2029 to make a longer gap (and so long as we're wishing for things, that instead of a loose HTTE adaption it'd be a straight adaption using Sebastian Stan, Alden Einreich, and Bilie Lourd.). But point being, the marketing team needs to somehow hit at least some amount of the excitement that the first TPM and TFA teasers hit in a world wherein rather than star wars being largely dormant or constricted to ancillary material, we've been inundated with live-action star wars every year since 2015. It's unironically the best chance for one. Given the production differences I think a Defender or the return of an Outlander is more likely, but the best chance for any TIE besides the original to get a set is showing up in new content. (I was going to say beyond the ones in the OT, but aside from us not getting the obscure ones like the shuttle, it took 20 years between bombers and almost as long between interceptors.) I imagine Starfighter will do well, lego's best sets this year have been that $50-70 starfighter archtype and I have to assume Starfighter will get us a number of new ship designs.
  7. Honestly half the figures there are wasted slots. It's a good CMF overall but frustrating that it could have been so much better than it was. Venom Animals battle pack with Venom Horse, Venom Frog, Venom Fish, and Venom Man (Eddie) with 2x troopers and the xenophage. Comes with a wave of Netflix Daredevil, Deadpool and Wolverine, and Marvel Zombies sets.
  8. A unique idea and fun way to use those bone pieces that most constraction fans have plenty of lying around. It's impressively organic-looking for something made solely of CCBS, a pretty robotic archtype.
  9. On the bright side, neither do any of the heroes beyond Superman and the bat-family! The supes mech still makes me laugh. We know that for stuff without explicit source material, hero toys sell better than villain ones, but this is like giving Thor a motorcycle. Aside from actively hindering his mobility, what point does it have? It's open to the air, so it's not as if it prevents kryptonite poisoning. He just put it on to flex on Lex that he gets a whole set for a powersuit and all Luthor gets is printed armor and the praetorian guard shoulder pads.
  10. You're making arguments about what would be "better", I'm not talking about that. For the millionth time, I really liked Andor, I would be happy to get an avenger. I am not talking about what I personally desire, or what I consider to be better, but what lego is likely to do. Whether the sets were better or not, we aren't in 2010 anymore. Whether it's asking too much or not, you think tie-in sets for an April 2025 show would have released by now. As for the first point, dude, a new hope is almost 50 years old. Multiple generations have grown up watching it. I guarantee you a bare minimum of ten times as many children currently aged 6-12 have seen that as have seen Ahsoka for that night trooper pack, or will watch RTG for the firespeeder. (And I'd say probably a few hundred times as many have seen it as Andor- personally I would not want a 6-12 year old watching Andor). The original six movies are part of the cultural consciousness. I believe the same- I think if anything the most likely addition to Andor sets would be an 18+ fondor, or a Cassian's house GWP if we get a Yavin MBS sometime.
  11. Yeah it wouldn't be an absurd remake, but at the same time it hasn't been long enough for me to think a new one's imminent. I doubt we get an officially branded Hammobile, though a generic/comic one clearly meant to represent it like 2020's bat-tank seems entirely possible. As they say in the midwest when you go a summer without a tornado... we're overdue. Though with the landspeeder, it's honestly been long enough I wouldn't complain much about a new one. Ideally they could throw in a brick-built dewback or something, though. That movie's been in such delay purgatory I wouldn't be surprised if they either gave up and decided to just release some in-the-works vehicle or think it'll be so long before the actual release that they'll have time to make another. But I agree, it's no sure thing. Though I also wouldn't be surprised if they at least had some concept art at this point showing that Bruce'll have a new batmobile in part ll. We're definitely seeing a batman who's still in the process of making his equipment, and the Pattmobile has an unfinished vibe. I wouldn't be surprised if we got a sleeker vehicle in the sequel. We have to bring back to the public consciousness the correct meaning of goon. Though I also wouldn't be opposed to using Mooks, Thugs, or Lackeys. Henchmen's the formal term, but what's your average Dick Tracy gonna call the guys working for the mobsters he fights?
  12. Unfortunately the mech's $15 (I mean, I think it's a reasonable price for it, but you know what I mean) but yeah the price point definitely helps it and the fact that the next one up is $55 is evidence of how well the subway set's doing. I wouldn't mind that either. That's pretty cool- maybe he can come down to affordable secondhand once those release. Still waiting on the x-jet cyclops minifigure to not cost $15-20 on BL. I hope so- I think @poisonbricks was the one who made a good moc-up of what it could look like. If they can implement some of strange's abilities- a Mirror Dimension effect out of trans-clear, some representation of the bands he uses, etc- I think it could make a really unique display piece- maybe they have some moon chunks on transparent stands as if they're crashing down? (It'll be stock orangeish terrain with a midi-scale sakaaran fighter - it'll be an endgame final battle that still doesn't include ronin.) To be fair I can see why we don't get some of these- Malekeith's ship isn't likely to be a bestseller, for instance- but the Q-ships stick out to me as anything Infinity war should do pretty solid and they already undersized the sanctuary 2, so it's not like it'd need to be a D2C set. Likewise, Thor vs the destroyer is screaming to be a $10 set. Raimi sets would be excellent too, the Spider-Man 3 final battle would be a great playset, and- again on $10 sets- just a simple goblin glider and brick wall or something would sell spectacularly.
  13. This one does surprise me, given how often lego releases AT-RTs. If they put out a little $10 AT-RT with a driver and chewbacca or Yoda or something, it'd be a solid set. New trooper variant, accurate size for popular vehicle, and major character for $10. That's why they're going back on shelves. Also why we got grape ones in the new style before the 104th despite the them not being canon- it's the best flavor. Awesome, that's all I needed. Again, I'd like a TIE avenger set, I liked Andor, I just didn't see the logic. So long as it's understood why it's unlikely I've got no issue saying "but it would be cool of lego to do though." I really do hope we get more $10 system sets. That Mando and grogu bike might be the first set I buy... ever? more to encourage more of that type of set than for the actual product. I can easily invest $10 to up the chances- however small my single contribution would be- of getting more of that price point from this theme. There are so many good options, and those sets have great potential to give us accurately-scaled versions of commonly oversized vehicles, get us cheap versions of desirable figs, and at their low price point, figs we might not otherwise get. (The risk of a $10 Cal vs Second Sister set being much less than a Mantis or something.) A few points here: 1. Plenty of adults buy system sets. I'm one of them, as is assumably most of this thread. That said, the standard 6-12 lego system sets are designed for 6-12 year olds. We aren't the target audience. 2. The Defender was made in a different era of the theme, when there was much less to pull from. As much as I want one today, that sort of thing is incredibly rare. 3. The Ambush on Ferrix set was an Andor tie-in meant to coincide with the release, as lego's done for every live-action star wars show besides that time they dodged a bullet. And one that I'd wager unfortunately didn't do all that well, hence their decision to limit the S2 tie-ins to a ship that was in a live-action movie already. (It is, however, an absolutely sick set that I greatly enjoy, despite the inaccurate figures. I doubt lego would have made it after seeing the first season, and I'm glad I didn't pay the $70 retail, but I'm also very glad I picked it up.)
  14. I think you're 100% on the money. I think it's three new small batmobiles. Pattmobile (from the game)- I'd guess with Penguin again, though given they've managed to get the batmobiles back down to $30 I wouldn't be surprised if it's just batman in the set. Batfleck Gunmobile- If we get a second figure, I'd hope it's Cavill's superman, but again, the price is too reasonable for a 2025 batmobile for me to expect multiple figures. Third one I'm not as certain on. It's been a minute since the '66 batmobile, but not THAT long. And I'd be shocked if it was a new Keatonmobile or Tumbler. Maybe it's a comic batmobile, which I think would be our first bog-standard, not 4+, retail set based on the comics since.... 2020? Unless you count the mechs, I guess. Immediate purchase, and not even because the Batfleck batmobile is a cool elseworlds design. I have the Morbius figure. I need to collect his brother Jokorbius.
  15. Seriously- it's nice of them to make the best set also the cheapest one, I don't know if I'd have bought a $35 spider-car just to get a ghost rider figure. Assumably they're infinity saga, right? In which case.... I don't have high hopes. It's not going to be thunderbolts sets or anything. I think a Titan Battle is likely, which could be cool. It's almost certain that doomsday sets were in development before that delay to december- it's not out of the question a leaker could have gotten a bit of info out of them back when they were planned for (Likely) an April 2025 release. That said, I would definitely prefer some comic-based X-men sets than doomsday X-men ones. (Or '97, the designs are essentially the same) Don't forget the buildable figure four years ago. (Honestly if this is a constraction figure I don't really mind- if those actually do sell, it makes sense they'd want one of one of the few characters it actually works for back on shelves. If it is an 18+ statue I'm going to lose it- lego has a problem making and discarding new 18+ sublines). If they hire Ransom Fern I'd actually be OK with this, but with the current team, given the de-evolution of the design between 2015 and 2023?4? I think it would legitimately just be a rectangular prism with limbs. After all, it's crucial it fits that new buildable iron man.
  16. I am indeed Aragorn Technically according to his criteria that would be merely "above average" best-case scenario. You're missing the point. Not as many people watched it, and those who did were primarily adults- given the emmy-bait marketing, probably a uniquely large portion of adults who aren't otherwise SW fans- especially lego star wars fans- as well. Again, I'm not criticizing the quality of the show. I'm pointing out the reality that there's very little overlap between the demo that watched andor and the demo that lego typically makes system sets for. Resultingly, it doesn't really make sense for lego to rush a TIE avenger into production. There's no incentive to do so like there was for baby yoda or no way home. I feel like I'm crazy for being the only one who sees this, because I don't understand how this isn't logical. I just don't think the first Dooku in 13+ years, or a "mere repeat" from a $1000 set who hasn't otherwise been seen in a decade would be "average". Maybe for your specific circumstances of owning almost all the sets for at least a decade, sure, there might not be much there for you. But again, can you really tell me with a straight face you'd consider a clone battle pack of a new legion better than a Palpatine's Arrest remake that somehow included Revan, Nien, etc? While confirming I was right about the last Dooku being 2013, I realized that most people in lego's target system set demo were not yet born when he was last released. I know some people think the "major vehicles and characters every 3 years" cycle is too much, but a full generation of lego fans are growing up without the ability to get a firsthand Count Dooku minifigure, and I feel like everyone should be able to agree that thirteen years is a bit long of a gap for a character that major. And this is the issue- the sheer amount of clones being put out is just too many. Lego is pushing too far and too fast, and they're eating their own market. If they'd spaced it out a little better, aside from actually adding some more era/faction variety, I'm sure sales would have remained pretty solid for a number of years. As-is, they oversaturated the market, and since we know the standard dev cycle is around 1.5 years, by the time the August 2025 wave sales data is analyzed, we'll be lucky if they reverse course by 2027. (The 1HY set list confirming that things are going to get worse before they get better, as we have our second $20 battle pack of the same clone legion we got 2.5 years ago. And I feel like the least massable legion, too, given they're a subset of another legion and the mandalore detachment itself contained plenty of standard 501st and shinies)
  17. If you own almost every set ever released going back well over a decade, sure, I can understand how this would be the criteria you create. But I don't think this works as any sort of accurate metric for the vast majority of buyers. The theme's been going on for 25 years, with the last of the original six movies out for 20, of course most sets based on the original six films aren't going to have never-before seen characters with new molds. It's crazy to me that the first sub-$500 tarkin in a decade, the first sub-$500 tarkin in his actual film costume in TWENTY years would be considered "average" under this metric. (let's be clear- the rebels one isn't like a minor variation, it's a completely different colored costume and different colored hair. It's got as much in common with the "major antagonist of the first star wars film" tarkin as TCW Yularen does with Colonel Yularen.) Dooku would be considered average under this. Zam Wessel would be considered average. Your average clone battle pack would be considered a better figure selection than a Palpatine's Arrest remake that somehow also includes Nien Nunb and Darth Revan so long as the clones have a new color stripe or different pattern of blue paint.
  18. Buildable venom and symbiote spider-man bust 2-pack. Unlike the other busts, no minifigures are included. It's also branded as a rivals tie in, so lego can monkey's paw both "I wish we had rivals sets" and "I wish we got a symbiote spider-man"
  19. I mean... technically speaking about half the tie variants we get are regular ties with different wings. Not to mention that I'd wager the amount of kids who watched mando is well over than 10x that of Andor. (And again, because I know people like to conflate things, this isn't a statement on show quality.) -But I am being pedantic there, I get what you mean, it's TIE bomber/TIE shuttle level similar when not landing.- But there's the counterbalance of if they wanted to make it when they were provided with the concept art, why wouldn't we have seen it around Andor S2's release? We had no TIE fighter in 2025. The U-wing is arguably both closer to the existing 2025 starfighters at that price point (being a primarily white good guy ship) and more spoilery than the avenger. If lego wanted to make it from the get-go, we would have seen it already. If they started making it because of perceived demand, it wouldn't have been ready by 1HY 2026. Tarkin in a system set would be a massive win for fans, even if you don't have death stars and arguably even if you've been collecting for more than a decade. As someone else here pointed out, this'll be the first time we've gotten Tarkin in the right suit in a system set in two decades. He's one of the main villains of the original film- I'd argue he's about as neglected by lego as his friend Dooku. Now aside from him the figure list won't be anything shocking, but they could always give us spacetroopers. (Or pull a bomber and give us someone not strictly in ANH who fits the era) Not necessarily. If you picked up the advanced/A-wing two pack in 2016, you could get Tarkin wearing a tan suit. If you want a tarkin in the right color costume, either you shelled out $500 for the Death Star, or you went back to 2006 for the star destroyer. This would be the cheapest set Tarkin has ever been in in the history of the franchise The issue is, as I say above, that they didn't want to make the avenger as of whenever they knew about it- otherwise we would have seen it around the release of the show. And if they just found out about it when we did, unless it was baby yoda level popular, we weren't going to get it for 1.5 years- so in terms of the next lego release wave from then, January 2027. Again this is nothing against the avenger- I like the design, I loved Andor S2. But I think some people are letting hope cloud their judgement. There's not really a scenario where the avenger logistically pops up in 2026. I'd love to be proven wrong (unless it replaces my advanced) but the release window would logically have been 2025 or sometime 2027 or beyond. From now to the end of 2026 is that gap where too much time has passed for it to have been in development before show release as a tie-in, but too little time has passed for them to get one into production. (And again, even that January 2027 date acts as if the Avenger was NWH level popular, which- again- it isn't. I'm sorry. I like it, it's cool, but Andor S2 did not pull in crazy numbers, and the numbers it did make were definitely in the vast majority adults. A system avenger just doesn't seem like something they'd be rushing to production.) Now maybe it's a designer's passion project and he convinces the execs to get it out there, but that's the only way I think we see one before 2027, if anytime soon at all. Really the best change the avenger has is showing up in TMAG.
  20. Yavin's probably my second choice. Ideally I'd like a new Tantive, which I think fits better for the anniversary, being the first ship we ever saw in the universe. But I'd love MBS Yavin as well (especially if it came with a system Tantive) and in either case it'd probably be my third UCS/MBS (after Boba's Slave One and the AT-AT). Yavin and Tantive are 100% the best options for 2027. I don't want to get greedy for the anniversary (though it's the 50th anniversary of star wars- like, this was the first we ever saw of the universe... I feel like that's a big enough deal to get both UCS slots), but I wouldn't mind a UCS advanced in that May slot. (Hopefully we can get a UCS ETA out this coming May, it seems like such a layup and I'm surprised we got the Venator and Jango's Slave One first) This was such a weird decision on lego's part. The Hot Tub trooper isn't in any story material- anybody who was asking for one in the set was doing do because of the old lego game. So why wouldn't you base it off that game? Sure, you'll probably get a chuckle out of a lot of casual fans, but it's not like you wouldn't achieve the same result with the classic Beach Trooper. (And the beach trooper wouldn't have required dual-molded legs. In a set where several characters are underdetailed, why are we spending a dual mold to make a character who didn't need it inaccurate to the source material?) Obviously one figure in a $1000 set isn't really the selling point, but it's wild to me that they made this choice because for the life of me I can't understand what the benefit is. I'd go so far to say that if the Advanced isn't a smart brick set (which I doubt it is- 473 pieces for $70 isn't great, but it's not smart brick level awful, and I could easily see it using a number of large panels), there's no chance there's an Avenger in 2026. You can't put clones in it, and I haven't seen any indication that we're backing off the current "almost everything is clones or 18+ gimmick" trend enough to get two TIEs in the same year. Now that said- and my obligatory reminder that not everyone's been able to buy every set released in the past decade and a decade is a perfectly reasonable frame for a remake of a major vehicle aside- come on, anybody expecting the Avenger this year was living in a fantasy land. (Oa, in the case of our willful friend) No Way Home took 1.5 years to get a set. And the TIE avenger is cool, but it's not like it or Andor season 2 were absolute smash hits anywhere near the level of, say, baby yoda. (which took almost a year to get just a brickheadz, and I think we can assume that that's the combination of absolute max incentive to make a set and absolute minimum effort required). We know the standard development cycle of a set is 1.5 years. The absolute earliest I'd expect to see an avenger is january 2027, but that's as if the avenger was a popular ship from a smash-hit new movie. I loved Andor, but let's be clear, it's primary audience was adults and I doubt it did numbers with the 6-12 demographic. I think it's unlikely that lego's looking for the first possible opportunity to squeeze it into the lineup. I think we'll see it at some point- it's a live-action TIE variant (though we never did get the outlander), and it's also just a pretty cool vehicle- but I doubt lego's scrambling to get one made.
  21. The more I think about it, if this is locked behind a $1000 death star, I think it's actually a really good choice. It's a nice bonus for those who want to buy it day one- you get another midi-ship for your hanger and some troops to fill out the diorama scenes- but it's nothing crucial to the set, something you could recreate with existing bricks if you really wanted to. For a GWP locked behind a THOUSAND DOLLAR pay wall, I think it's the best case scenario. I'd go so far as to say I think ALL UCS-locked GWPs should be like this- DLC to the set that's not got some important exclusive, but is a nice add-on reward for a day 1 purchase. I wouldn't say all GWPs should be like this- the ones that have you "only" paying $160 on the theme as a whole don't necessarily need to be tied to the May UCS, for instance- but if you can only get the GWP by spending hundreds on a specific set, I like the idea that it's A: DLC for that specific set and B: something you could recreate if you like it but don't want to shell out hundreds of dollars.
  22. Definitely some hopium. I have a few points here: 1. We can reasonably assume most of the skins that aren't already figures won't be showing up in sets. I think a Pattmobile with the new Pattsuit or something is possible, but obviously we're not getting Rainbow Batman. The more unlikely suits are the ones more resource-intensive for lego to make and who wouldn't fit with lego's set release trends. The Pattsuit seems like a possible candidate for a future set, as while the legs seem a bit detailed for a DC figure in 2025, it has plain arms, as well as the fact that it's updated from the 2022 costume at all, whereas other 2022 figures remain the same in game. It also has a batmobile that looks 100% recreatable with real bricks, and would fit lego's trend of basing their sets off movies. Rainbow Batman, to again use as an example, features printed arms and impossible-to-manufacture cowl printing, as well so we know that design's not coming. The TBATB suit features cowl printing, dual-molded AND printed arms, and while I couldn't tell from the promo video whether or not the legs were printed, they're at least dual-molded. That's an absurd amount of detail for a DC minifigure- clearly we won't be seeing the suit, at least with that level of detail. 2. Releasing a set based on TBATB would go against lego's current handling of the theme. Almost every system set in the past 4 years has been based on batman movies, with the main exception being BTAS. While BTAS and TBATB are both cartoons, BTAS has a few notable differences. It's significantly more popular and well-regarded among adults- it's the highest-rated superhero show on IMDB and 24th highest rated show of all time. (Right below Sherlock and right above Dexter: Resurrection and Better Call Saul, if anyone was wondering.) It's also around 35 years old, meaning the nostalgia factor is well baked in. TBATB is a lot more campy, a much younger show, and didn't have anything close to the massive and enduring popularity of BTAS. Even if more sets based on batman-focused cartoons were coming, I'd say a JLU batmobile or The Batman batmobile would be more likely, as those shows are older, more culturally relevant (at least in JLU's case, though I think The Batman tends to be the most brought up non-DCAU batman cartoon), etc. 3. Even if you believe superman was a big success, there is zero chance that lego would have adapted so quickly as to have put a set into production, told the TT games design team about it, and had them make and finish a skin based on the minifigure they'd somehow already designed for the set within a little over a month. (Not to mention, I don't think superman even did well enough to get a single tie-in fasttracked, much less that it did so well as to convince lego to completely change their DC strategy and start putting more obscure JLs in the theme that barely managed to get two characters outside the bat-family on shelves in a half-decade. It barely cracked $600 mil on a budget THR rumors to be as high as $400 mil after marketing, meaning it, like the rest of the superhero movies this year, likely lost money.)
  23. I honestly just think it should have been a microfighter. It's already just significantly too small to be a playscale slave one in my eyes, so this way Jango still isn't exclusive to the UCS set (he'd be even cheaper!), and they can just put Lama in the UCS Slave One, giving it a nice, more obscure exclusive while keeping the more desirable figure in a cheap set- sort of like Yularen being exclusive to the venator whereas Rex gets to be in a microfighter. The $70 price point could then be used for a different set- maybe for something more suited to a $70 price point than the F1. Many of the 2025 sets are ones I think are poorly done and would better be replaced by others, but the slave one is just particularly redundant to me being both a recolor of a subpar 2021 set and having a UCS version out on shelves at the same time. Thank you! I can PM you the part file if you want. It's just gonna be an anniversary wave two- I have too many of these ready and both like my choices for the anniversary figs and don't want to go back and change them- but if it was a normal set, I agree, the figure setup would likely be very different. (Although this is essentially a legends set- Mara and the fact that it's not representing any specific OT imperial base aside, Luke is wearing his Heir to the Empire tank top.)
  24. Yup- These are all excellent- I did a similar thing awhile back but most of mine were speeders or duels, the creatures and other vehicles on your list are creative ways to get unique usage out of this price point. I love these $10 sets marvel's done and the two 2026 ones (Ghost Rider's bike and Mando's speeder, which are also the only 2026 sets I've currently budgeted as guaranteed purchases) seem like awesome set ideas. I really hope this speeder sells well- I imagine it will, there has to be a huge impulse-buy market for these- it's cheaper than even the gimmick sets and yet provides a gimmickless play experience that fits with the "normal" sets- and that lego goes on to make multiple per year. As you've demonstrated, there's no shortage of options. Alright, Revenge of the Sith wave- very excited. This is easily the best prequel movie and has the correspondingly largest number of set options: Clone Scout Walker ($9.99): Finally the right size. Comes with an AT-RT Driver and 2x B1 battle droid. Anakin's ETA-2 Microfighter ($12.99): Anakin Skywalker (ROTS) Grievous Mech ($14.99): emulates his own body armor. Comes with General Grievous (no cape) Clone Legions ($19.99): 1x each of a 442nd trooper (white armor with green accents), 501st trooper, 212th trooper, and a 91st corps trooper. Build is a BARC speeder and small turret. Coruscant Duel ($37.99): Palpatine's office with Darth Sidious, Anakin Skywalker, Kit Fisto, and Mace Windu. Has a function to blast the windows off the office. Dueling Dooku ($54.99): Invisible Hand "throne room" with throne, dual staircases with upper balcony, and a function to drop something on Obi-wan to take him down. Comes with Obi-Wan and Anakin (no outer brown robes), Chancellor Palpatine, Count Dooku, and 2x b2 battle droid. AT-AP ($59.99): AT-AP walker with Gree, 2x Kashyyyk clone troopers (camo), and 2x b2 battle droid alongside a dwarf spider droid. Battle of Coruscant ($109.99): Anakin and Obi-Wan's ETA-2s as well as a V-wing, with a Tri-Fighter and Vulture Droid. Comes with Anakin, Obi-Wan (both in robes and with headsets) R2, R4-P17, 2x Buzz Droid, a Republic Astromech, General Grievous (Cape), and 2x clone pilot (one with an open-faced helmet and one with a closed helmet) Clone Turbo Tank ($159.99): An actually good turbo tank with Yoda, Chewbacca, 2x 442nd clone trooper, a 442nd scout, Luminara Unduli, and Quinlin Vos UCS/MBS: Revenge of the Sith: The Outer Rim Sieges (good thread page number for it) ($349.99): This is a weird one, let me try and explain the setup. So it'd be a frame that holds scattered circular dioramas of the different Outer Rim Sieges (order 66 scenes, but I doubt lego would outright call it that.). The dioramas can be swapped around on the frame, with a stand included at the back to position an ARC-170 and Plo Koon's starfighter on top. The dioramas are of Mygeeto terrain (with a tri-droid), the wookiee structure Yoda oversees the battle of Kashyyyk in (with an ornithopter floating outside it), Felucia terrain/flowers (with a buildable gelegrub), Salucami terrain (with three BARC speeders), and Utapau terrain with a buildable Boga. Comes with Plo Koon, Ki-Adi Mundi, Yoda, Aayla Secura, Stass Allie, Obi-Wan Kenobi, Commander Cody, Captain Jag, Commander Bacara, Commander Gree, Commander Bly, Commander Neyo, Commander Cody, 2x Clone Pilot, Republic Astromech, 2x Galactic Marine, a 41st Scout, 2x 327th trooper, and a 91st trooper.
  25. While this is true, to be fair a big part of it is all the new pieces they make. That's not a knock against them- they certainly create incredible techniques and part usages often, and I love getting those new pieces- but a lot of the magical shaping comes from the fact that they do just create new wedges on a regular basis. I'd be fairly happy with the $30 set being the new Pattmobile with the game figure, although I'd be shocked if we really got dual-molded printed legs on Pattman given we're unlikely to see him appear in too many sets, unless the sets are also going to do the era-mixing the game's done.
