  1. Hey, don't knock my bionicle boys! they had much better prices, sets like Maxilos and Spinax were nearly at system PPP despite having much larger parts! As everyone else has said it's likely a 4+ set. The $45 one is the advent calendar unfortunately. I agree that the other two seem fine, with the $100 one seeming actually really good, but the $60, 411 piece TBOBF one makes me worried. It's probably a 4+ set, but for the $60, 411 piece tbobf set, it's possible. With the standard bigfig offset being around $10, this would make sense for a PPP if it had two. However, they were kept secret, and even for something so minor and revealed so early, I don't think lego would be able to do this. They and their...vehicle would have to be at least half the set, which is a lot harder than putting baby yoda in a razor crest or that...other character in this set. Yeah, a $5 increase. Honestly I wish they'd find a way to keep it cheaper, but I wouldn't want them reducing figure or part count either. I tend to just buy them on sale after christmas anyway, I challenge myself to make system builds out of all the little micro builds, so this probably won't affect me, but inflation always gives me a slight sense of foreboding. No, the May D2C is $200, and the fall one is more expensive. Last year was R2, this year is the landspeeder.
  2. I mean, technically the spider-man theme started in 2004. The 2002 sets were under the studios line. In addition, lego is pretty hit-or-miss when it comes to anniversaries. We do tend to get them for themes, such as SW, HP, and ninjago, but rarely for films. Aside from the empire strikes back, they don't do SW film anniversaries (because ESB is the best one ), and the only other film anniversary stuff lego's really done in the past 10 years or so that I remember is the 30th anniversary of batman 1989 with the 1989 batmobile. So it's possible, but considering the source is busted, we have no information at all as to whether or not it will happen. So from what I gather the Raimi sets "leak" was fake? Bummer, I would have totally bought them just to get a raimi suit for under $100... is the NWH set still happening?
  3. Yeah, isn't that the boba fett set, or are there 2 unrevealed sets we know are boba fett? (In which case the price of this one is even worse)
  4. Ah. Maybe it's just a thing they're doing for these big collector sets (again showing the new hoth sets are direct tie-ins) There is a difference. Battle packs and minifigure packs are to get figures for cheap-ish, whereas 4+ sets are usually low-complexity, simple-to-build versions of iconic vehicles kids would want. The only real overlap is the microfighters, which still have a pretty major difference, being that microfighters are tiny, but still detailed, versions of ships, where 4+ sets are very simple, but still much larger than microfighters, and usually have more figures and base/terrain builds to have a bigger play experiance. Look, 4+ sets clearly aren't made for you or me, it says it right there in the name. That doesn't mean they're a "waste", they're meant for little kids! Now, the pricing is REALLY bad on this one, and I don't see what could possibly be in this set to justify it, but I don't see how you could say the mere existence of a 4+ star wars set is a waste.
  5. I just added 2 1x2 brackets right behind the silver grille tiles on it to fit the bespin guard and stormtrooper, as Han and Boba fit in the ship. If you're looking to fit all 4 on the stand, I would just buy a few black plates and put them on the bottom of the stand with some studs exposed to the sides to fit figures on.
  6. Jesus, what's with the prices this year? Even if the rancor is molded, that's absurd. I think that's as bad as the souless one set! What? Even for a 4+ set that $30 one is ROUGH, and the advent calendar price increase is upsetting. On the contrary, unless the 1062 piece set is comprised exclusively of 1x1 studs, it should be a pretty good PPP value.
  7. Likely supplied by lucasfilm, if it was done by lego's graphics team I'd imagine the troopers would be minifigures. I can't think of a scenario where LSW has had exclusive, non-legoized images. I guess your reward for waiting weeks later than the rest of the world was a higher purchase limit, over here it was a max of 3.
  8. I know, we need a more accurate helmet for the new boba! I still don't think we'll get more than one or two BB sets since, well popular, it wasn't as explosive as the mandalorian, or even clone wars S7. I do think we'll get SOMETHING if for no other reason then what you mentioned, that they can essentially just do a ROTS vehicle and have the figures be BB figures. I'm pretty excited for the new list too, I'm hoping there's a proper ion cannon or shield generator, as well as for more BOBF and something, anything for Kenobi. Also, I noticed that the side of the snowtrooper battle pack box has this shield-shaped image with some snowtroopers on it, which is also on the interior flap of the AT-AT box. Nice bit of correlation, and cool to see that it really is intended as an expansion pack. The paid DLC so to speak!
  9. 200,000 Hans are ready, with a million more well on the way. Nicely done, I like the extra detailing put around the original carbonite blocks. I think I prefer this sort of brick-built style to the molded carbonite cases!
  10. I'm glad you liked it! The snow fortress thing took a bit of time but I wanted to make something that was more complex than the official set's pretty basic build, and I think I managed that at least. Their clothes under the armor are gray, as is any detail that would have been black rubber or cloth. The helmet is identical. Like @TeddytheSpoon said, there's this little hose thingie on the back, but other than that and most black printing now being gray, there aren't any differences.
  11. I mean...it's hollow. They aren't gonna put luke's face under it, which would make sense for it being less parts. Do we even know if it's STARTED filming yet? IIRC TBoBF was almost DONE filming by the time it was announced.
  12. The return of the king! I'm currently using Enfys Nest's Cape with the fur print for her, but I might change to that fur neck piece. Love the Night Owls, especially the one with the chain weapon, and I like that darksaber build for Sabine.
  13. I purchased four battle packs to complement the AT-AT, here's what I found/made: So first off, here's the components of the four battle packs all together: 12 snowtroopers, 4 scout troopers, 4 E-webs, 2 speeders, and then some stuff I made with the parts. I only needed 2 speeders to complete the AT-AT's racks, and even if I get more battle packs down the line I'd always have 2 more speeders than scouts, so I made a crashed speeder with the parts of one, and absorbed the parts of the other into the other builds. I used all the snow parts and some of the speeder to make that large snowy mound, as well as creating a small communication array with the parts left over. here are the mocs in closer detail. There's a good amount of standing space for the troopers, I think I could fit 9 if I packed them together even more. Here is the AT-AT with the full complement so far: 16 troopers, 1 commander, and 4 scouts. I'm not sure yet whether the scouts will be permitted to sit in the snowtrooper seats or have to sit in the main hold, so for now they're mostly wandering around the walker. The commander is yelling at the scouts who sat down for taking the seats of the snowtroopers. And here's my collectible display with the battle packs added in. I like the little bit of atmosphere the crashed speeder and snow dune provide. I'll definately update this when I buy more packs (as you can see I'm not even at half capacity of the walker), but I might wait for them to go on sale as I'm out of VIP points.
  14. Oh yeah, no I think it should be in a spoiler tab here, since these are die-hard SW fans, but in terms of being in a set, I think they'd be fine letting the lego group see concept art of the character or whatever and have a set with him out beforehand. Definately could be the assassins too, especially since it said "two bounty hunters", meaning it's possible the two could be identical. I think the rumors claim moreso that so I wouldn't give up on it yet.
  15. It's possible, but we tend to get more major characters in sets based on new media. Seeing how the character we're keeping in the spoilers was shown in the show, he will clearly have a more major role later, and if I had to guess I'd say it'll be him and a bounty hunter we haven't seen yet, such as (in spoilers so I'm not accused of spoiling the show by saying a character ISN'T in the show yet, or by suggesting characters that I have no information on whether they appear in the show or not but think it would be cool.)
  16. He's got to be, right? The set said "bounty hunters" and we haven't seen any in the trailers. Not a huge spoiler either, since I'm trying to think of others that could be seen as bounty hunters, I can't see anyone looking at a fig of the mayor and saying that's a bounty hunter, maybe the assassins from episode one?
  17. I agree. I think for $20 the build needed to be much more substantial, not just slightly more (look at this compared to the $15 rebel battle pack from 2016, it's a very similar setup), or they needed a 5th figure.
  18. Drax is in every set ever released in every theme though? Can you not see him? Was the $100 one that ended up being DC one the one everyone thought was a NWH spoiler one? Because if it releases 2021 1HY there's no way it'd have tobey and andrew.
  19. I received the 2022 snowtrooper pack I got from amazon, since the lego lot limit was 3 for lego.com. It's...alright. Good as an AT-AT expansion with the snow pieces and speeder, as well as the figures. I don't have any single major complaints (except the price) but this annoyed me to an irrational extent: Why is the gun different? Obviously the stud shooter is different, but the main barrel is changed as well-why? The speeder is the same, why did the bb-9e head piece need to be a normal cone in this one? I do like the snow scout, and the troopers are fine. I also LOVE that the speeder is the same, since the AT-AT has four slots, it's nice that they're providing this as an option, especially for people who don't know about bricklink. 12 year old me was really annoyed by not having a way to get a second crate for my hovertanks (this was a year before I discovered bricklink), and while unlike with that set, a lot people buying the UCS AT-AT probably know about bricklink, it's still great that there's an "official" way.
  20. They're trying something new with these, where instead of increasing prices of the battle packs they're lowering the amount of stuff in them but keeping the price the same. It's essentially inflation akin to the snowtrooper pack being $20 (though to be fair there is a bit more stuff in it than a standard pack, albeit not $5 more of stuff). Us Americans don't have them either, so it's not definately not because of your border being closed. It might be supply chain issues, but the fact that they've said nothing about it makes me wonder. Especially since if it was supply chain issues you'd think there'd be advance warning of at least a few days? it's not like the factory in mexico just teleports the sets to chicago at 11:59pm Dec 31. Also, no other sets have been impacted this time AFAIK, and I'm not sure that the issues would work out in such a way that exclusively these two sets would be hit.
  21. It got revealed in april, but released in august. ...what? I thought it was pretty nice of them to give him a heads up about the set since he started the...movement...to get it made.
  22. Apparently 2026-2027 now... it's unfortunate, but it also looks dark enough we wouldn't be getting sets anyway. I usually hate anime to an absolutely irrational extent, but I loved The Ninth Jedi, and with the rumors of a ninth jedi spinoff I could see that at least getting a set. We had the 2015, 2018, and 2019 falcons. Admittedly there were films releasing and the solo one was different, but I'd still wager a 2022 falcon isn't that far off. 3 years is definately long enough for popular sets (landspeeder, x-wing, etc) to get a remake. What cockpit do you mean, I can't seem to find the new one on bricklink. No evidence for either. My money's on endor simply because it's the last major OT location to not receive an MBS type set (counting assault on hoth and death star) except jabba's palace, which like you said is unlikely for this year. IMO it'll be that, or a death star remake, since the old one retired. Geonosis I'd say is 2024 at the earliest, if they deem the gunship to have sold well, which we don't know for sure they will. It looks like it sold about as well as the average UCS, and if I was lego I'd realize there aren't many OT UCS candidates left so PT and ST stuff selling average is good, but lego doesn't always make rational choices. I've stalled a bit on the wishlist MOC wave, the b-wing is giving me some trouble. I've got 4 sets left: the AT-TE, B-wing (partially complete), homestead, and Yavin.
  23. It's my opinion that needing to put out a video on how to take apart a set means that it's definately a quality issue. I wouldn't call it world-ending or anything, it's just a single instructions set, and I bought the set myself, but it's certainly something to note, especially because it's not like that was the only way to make the set, as the thread about the issue has shown multiple ways to fix it. Same here. Honestly, I'm mostly inclined to purchase the hoth pack just based on the amount of blasters in it, as neither the figures nor turret are particularly good IMO.
  24. No need to get sarcastic, I've definately noticed, manufacturing equipment is just about impossible to get. That could account for the accessory packs being delayed in the US and australia, despite seemingly not affecting anything else, but there were 3 marvel sets delayed over stability issues, the one santa set that got cancelled with no explanation, the doctor strange set with an illegal technique, the AT-AT instruction step that they had to release a video explaining how to take apart, the packaging on the gunship, etc. You could maybe attribute these two sets and the cancelled santa one to it, but clearly something is going wrong with QC and deadlines. And most of these are pretty minor in themselves, but when all taken together show that there is an issue.
  25. Yeah, seems like the UK Is getting them, but they got pulled from the US and UK. Crazy that there's no explanation yet. I don't know, but I do know amazon has them and if you go to a physical lego store you should be able to pick up at least a few more.
