In addition to that, in most universes where Superman is either evil or just not around/relevant we see that Lex is generally a normal/good man if not actively the universe's premier hero. He's just such a top-tier hater that it's more important to him to hate on superman than literally anything else. He's like reverse flash, except his villainy is sometimes for some sort of philosophical reason instead of Thawne always having the pettiest possible rationale for dedicating his life to hurting or even inconveniencing Barry.

DC Superheroes 2025 - Rumors & Discussion

This is also your reminder that we're 6 years out from the last landspeeder- double how long it tended to be. We're due for another. Honestly given how SW is going I'd welcome it. Rosharch is kind of DC now, isn't he? I'll take back everything I ever said about this theme if he somehow inexplicably (and probably against lego's guidelines) showed up in a set. What's funny is even assuming two figs per set feels optimistic, no matter who they are. (Though if there is a DCEUmobile coming i'd lose it over Society Man/The Morbkler show up) This is probably going to be the roughest year since 2022 when in some markets all we got was a single 4+ set, but honestly if they can get me a DCEUmobile with a new Tactical Batfleck and/or Cavill Superman, that's a win for me. I'm assuming it's a Pattmobile, comic-based one, and tumbler microfighter or something, though. At least we can now confirm they aren't "smart". This is the aslume, after all. Perhaps our insanity spares us. -

I don't know- again, the X1 has a suspiciously normal (not good, but normal) PPP, and while I don't believe we have piece counts for the others (Aside from the X-wing, which we know has the brick itself and a resultingly vomit-inducing PPP), a lot of the mario sets that only have stickered tiles seem to be fine value for what they are. Based on some of the other nintendo offerings I wouldn't say disney's charging all that much more than them for licensing, so unless the builds are dumbed-down to accommodate the play features, we might actually be OK for most of the march sets after all. This is a good point, but I just can't see a 478 piece $70 set and a 584 piece $100 set both having the smart brick- it's 100 more pieces for $30 more, and while lego star wars certainly has some laughable discrepancies, I don't remember too many being in the same wave and that bad percentage wise. As you say, the Smart Brick seems to be wireless in some way, probably akin to the lego mario as people are guessing. The minifigures seem to be identical, just with stuff in the torso. (Which is still a no-go for me. I want normal dumb minifigures. I'm still the type of guy who won't buy a fridge or microwave or car if it's "smart", there's no way I'm buying "smart" LEGOS.) I assume this isn't the direct goal of lego. I feel like they'd have more financial incentive keeping phones AWAY from kids if they could- so they'd be more into normal toys- and this is more of a "all the kids have them anyway, might as well try and use them to get them buying legos" type of thing. That said, while it might not be as insidiously motivated, it still has the same end result of inevitably getting more kids hooked on smart devices. I'm young enough to have grown up with the Ipad for part of my childhood, but I was lucky to have parents that kept screen time limited until I was old enough to understand how to regulate it myself. I can reliably say from working with kids for a few summers that most of the ones currently in lego's target age range aren't so lucky. It makes it difficult for conventional toys to compete, sure, but it almost feels cowardly to just give up and keep trying to make sets that incorporate smartphones into the play pattern. It's a massive generational issue and this type of thing, while meant to try and adapt to it, only ends up stifling imagination at best and actively putting kids on screens when they otherwise wouldn't be at worst. If they can just give some tiles with the iconic death noises (Yoda, the different trooper noises, Jango, Anakin) I will purchase all the tiles (assumably for like $0.1 each on bricklink) and a smart brick to construct a device that plays them at random intervals at the loudest possible setting. This is the only way in which I could be compelled to purchase a smart brick. -

Calling out these two lines for the equally great Thrawn Trilogy reference and correlation of paying taxes to serving the empire. I'm still holding out hope the only set to actually include a Smart Brick/Smart Figs is the X-wing, and the rest just include some easily-removable scannable tiles like the Mario sets. I'm fairly confident on the brick, but a little worried on the figs. -

You'd think, and the box office would agree, but marvel seems to believe that he's beloved by all. Dude it's $100 for a 584 piece set with what appears to be the 2020 $20 4+ X-wing, we're absolutely doomsdayed. -

If I remember right we agree on Falcon Cap not being a very interesting character or good lead as well. And yeah, this is an issue lego simply doesn't understand. People don't buy legos and go "man I wish these were integrated into apps", they buy lego so they have a hobby that's NOT on a screen, or parents get it to get their kids off screens. The continued focus by lego to mesh the two is absurd. That's a good point- I didn't remember the piece counts. We might be safe. -

The hypothetical paramount reboot would just be superboy Prime walking onto the screen of Man of tomorrow, saying "hi, it's me, (actor name), we're gonna reboot the universe again." I had a horrible idea- what if the 2026 DC march wave is Smart Brick? I can't remember whether or not the more expensive set is 18+ or not. If it is, we're probably safe, but if not... the fact that there's a Star Wars march that's all Smart Brick based... the one more expensive set with smaller ones that could easily be a starter kit and expansions... lego may have invented a new and innovative way to screw up the theme. What's funny is if it's not Smart Brick based, no matter what it is a part of me will somehow feel relieved, which makes the whole thing feel like a psyop by lego to see how many times they can hit rock bottom and then crack through to a second, lower rock bottom. -

It's an entire wave of LSW this year. Not half the year, but I think around a quarter or so. I wouldn't be surprised if Marvel did something as well- as smart (haha) as it would be to just be a couple sets, we've heard lego really wants to go all-in. -

We did! To keep as in-step with the original as I remember, maybe adjusting for inflation: Resistance Lifeboat ($54.99): Comes with General Leia, Nien Numb, Lieutenant Connix, and Kylo Ren (Unmasked) That's a cool exercise in seeing how the same basic concept can be very different depending on price, details, and figure setup. Generic rebel and imperial battle packs would be so nice. Especially an Imperial Army one- it works not only for canon stuff like Andor and Solo, but the throughline in older Legends of stormtroopers being the elite shock troops and the standard imperials being those army troopers. Tying off that spinoff movie trilogy with a Siege of Mandalore wave: Yerbana attack ($9.99): 1x Dwarf spider droid and a bit of bridge terrain with a 212th trooper and 501st jet trooper. Gauntlet Starfighter Microfighter ($12.99): Bo-Katan Kryze Mandalorian Mech ($14.99): Gar Saxon Mandalorian Forces Battle Pack ($19.99): 1x Mandalorian Loyalist (male), 1x Nite Owl (female), 1x Mauldalorian (Male), 1x Mauldalorian (female). Build is some of the sewer tunneling with a function to blow out a wall, as well as a small mortar. Catwalk Duel ($24.99): Build of the catwalk on the dome's ceiling with functions to sever beams. Comes with Darth Maul and Ahsoka Tano. Hallway Rampage ($54.99): Venator hallway with sliding door and reactor room facade. Comes with Darth Maul, 2x 501st trooper, 2x 332nd trooper, and an unmarked clone trooper. Maul's Gauntlet Fighter ($89.99): Maul's gauntlet ship with Rook Kast, Gar Saxon, Darth Maul, Bo-Katan, a Nite Owl, and Prime Minister Almec (armored) Battle of Yerbana ($109.99): Droid command station, Snail Tank, Tri-Fighter, Headhunter, and a build of some cover rubble. Comes with Anakin Skywalker, a Clone Pilot, Obi-Wan Kenobi, Commander Cody, Captain Rex (Jetpack), 1x Clone Jet Trooper, Tactical Droid, b1 droid commander, 2x b2 battle droid, and 1x buzz droid. Republic LAAT Gunship ($139.99): Comes with 2x clone pilot, 2x 332nd trooper, Captain Rex (Jetpack), Ahsoka Tano, and 2x Mauldalorian. UCS: UCS Captain Rex's Y-wing Starfighter ($239.99): Comes with Captain Rex and Ahsoka Tano -

I dunno. Again, $70 for 478 pieces is fairly normal for LSW in 2025. The X-wing was what, $100 for 384? I wouldn't be surprised if the X-wing was the "lego mario" of the wave, with everything else just having some stickers to interact with it. Again that's not to say the builds of the non X-wing march sets won't be significantly compromised and/or have "smart" minifigures, still making them bad sets, but unless the X-wing set has like 7 smart bricks or something it seems like it's a big enough price increase that it's only in that set. -

This would be the point for me where I'd start to get annoyed with lego. The midi-legs and long legs are both fine for what they represent, but introducing slight height variations on the normal legs would really annoy me customization wise. At that point, just stick two black 1x1s on the bottom of your Vader fig, right? It may be copium, but I'm hoping the X1 doesn't have a brick included. 478 pieces for $70 isn't anything special, but for LSW 2025 prices it's fairly reasonable, assuming they use large plates for the wings, and even in the worst case not as bad as the X-wing's smart brick price increase is. I don't think there's one in the set. The train isn't comparable. It's a single piece, it really means very little to the set- if you don't like it, just don't display it with the rest of the set. I'm not sure how to feel about the introduction of 3-D printed parts in general, but let's not act like it's anywhere close to the impact these Smart Bricks are going to have on the build and prices of these sets. These are the X-wing and TIE ($100 and $70) we'd been discussing. I think it may not be as bad as we assume. If we believe most of them are simply meant to integrate with the smart brick system and don't actually include them, all we may have to do is remove a few stickered tiles to obtain a normal set. It could be as bad as the sets coming with those stupid electronic minifigures, though, or the builds being that weird lego mario style. -
The super jumper was arguably the best of the gimmicks as it solely consisted of adding a piece to a normal set. If you didn't want the gimmick you could simply discard the jumper and you were left with a totally normal set with no value difference. It almost feels unfair to count it- it's more of a power burst/power blast type thing. Mechs are the best that comprise a major feature of a set or take up set slots. They're really pushing it, so I wouldn't be surprised if it held on until the end of 2027, but it's gonna be a rough few years for lego sales wise if they're going (batman) all-in like this. The good news is we'll probably be able to get these sets for the prices they'd be if they didn't include a smart brick due to the absurd sales they'll be on. I thought summer 2025 sets were gonna be on sale by christmas and that would be the worst in recent LSW history- I wouldn't be surprised if some retailers had the March sets on significant sales by star wars day.

And unfortunately, just because his design changes between them doesn't mean they'll re-use it anyway, as they have before. I'm sure he'll wear the white cloak at some point in Secret Wars, but I mean, even in Endgame Thanos wore his infinity war and GOTG/IW opening costumes. I wouldn't be surprised if Doom's suit carries over for at least some of Secret Wars. And even if it's a small update to the costume I wouldn't put it beyond lego to re-use the old doom. -

Disappointed that we didn't get our daily song/quote/snappy remark, I'll fill in, and since I finished my yearly Thrawn Trilogy reread I'll use that: "The whole thing's ridiculous. You know it, and I know it" "@CloneCommando99 doesn't think so." "@CloneCommando99's even a worse idealist than you are sometimes. In the first place, he's never going to be able to hold this fan coalition of his together" "Maybe not. But think of the possibilities if he can. There are a lot of leakers and information sources out there in the fringe that the Eurobricks Forum doesn't have any access to at all." Even without stud.io- just adding plates to his legs looks weird. Vader's tall, but he's not lanky. At a certain point it just becomes one of those lego proportion things that most adults in lego are more or less the same height. It's the same thing with Yoda being almost as tall as a normal person, or astromechs. Minifigures aren't Black Series, they aren't trying to accurately 1-1 portray characters. I used the wrong Thrawn Trilogy quote, I should've dug one up from Dark Force Rising when they think they're all doomed. Because, as C-3PO likes to say, we are, in fact, doomed. -

I agree with all these, as they're primarily updating mold accuracy or adding functionality. On the others, though, I really hope they don't go that route. Vader isn't superhumanly tall, and I think introducing a "slightly taller" leg piece would be a mistake anyway. Stormtroopers certainly aren't bulky enough to warrant molded shoulder plates. And the current Kaminoans work fine for lego minifigures in my view, I wouldn't want them to introduce a whole new body type for the theme- the Kaminoans would look like they didn't belong in lego star wars. The rest don't bother me as much- I could go either way on the geonosian legs, the stormie belts and scout backpacks feel unnecessary due to how little they stick out from the costumes in-universe but so long as they're printed underneath it wouldn't matter, and a brick-built jabba with added functionality is sorely needed. Red eyed vader, updated astromechs, and skirts for characters who wear them are probably my top three wanted minifigure upgrades. -

I was trying to use the web browser version- after I downloaded the app, it worked just fine on the cyborg-spider-woman box I had. Nice. In the end I think the boxes turned out to be a benefit, now that we can scan the codes- feeling the bags was useful but not an exact science, whereas now we can tell for sure who's who. I would hope so. Given they'll assumably be able to re-use this design extremely frequently, as he's essentially the main character of the next two avengers movies, it would seem smart to make this one one of their better figures. -
Lego Star Wars Minifigures Old vs New
Mandalorianknight replied to Darth_Bane13's topic in LEGO Star Wars
I would say with the exception of the removal of pupils on characters with colored eyes, and some QC issues, the current style of minifigure design is the best. Obviously the classic yellows have their own charm, but I don't think anybody's going to be advocating for the cursed TCW faces of the sets released during that show's run, or saying the 2006-2008 pupiless designs are better than what we have now. The modern designs are the best mix of detail (in general, the most detailed minifigures we've ever had) and keeping that sort of lego stylization. They've experimented with hyperdetailed designs before- most notably their 2014 design scheme, which worked fine for armored or alien characters but was awful on characters with human faces like Luke and Han- and it just ends up feeling like someone's custom more than a minifigure in the lego style. -

I haven't heard of the guy but he seems to just be one of the clone army builders in the vein of MandR. I think it's a pretty big leap to think he's a leaker just because he has a lot of the Kamino GWP- he's army building $70 and $150 sets, I don't think it's all that difficult to believe he either bought a ton of sets back in May or has been buying a ton of copies off bricklink/ebay/etc. -

They're expanding- SW didn't used to have retail Christmas sets aside from the calendar. The 2023 set was a lego tv special tie-in based on the in-universe "life day" holiday. The AT-AT this year is our first publicly availible, explicitly Christmas/Earth Holiday based non-calendar set (I'm excluding them because plenty of themes get them). More importantly, there's a Christmas Hulkbuster from Marvel this year if I'm remembering correctly. Now all that said, I agree with you that it would make more sense for Harry Potter just to have normal sets with the students celebrating those holidays, since they really exist in Harry Potter. A big Harry Potter Christmas Tree with Weasleys in sweaters would be just a normal canon set. -

Right. I was hesitant to count all the little serfdoms popping out of the "Snyder plan isn't working, scrap it and MCUify" approach, but the Rock Cinematic Universe was definitely notable enough. So if Paramount wants to clean the slate again, that'll be 6. And if they do the same "we're counting select parts of the last universe" thing, it'll be the fifth consecutive universe to fail to make a clean break. (The 10 year plan seemed like it would have been, but didn't get any scripts made as far as we know, much less any projects released) -

Not much directly, all depends on what media they produce. Doesn't Paramount have star trek? Or do they just have the rights to show it on streaming? I mean- obviously, this means Lego Indiana Jones (but only the distribution rights so the sets are, like, mosaics of the dvd covers) and Lego Mission Impossible return, and that we're finally getting the Bay Harbor Brick Separator. Watch the plan reset for like the 5th time in a decade. Is that right? Snyder plan, hastily re-done sanitized MCUDCEU, Hamada's "10 year plan based on batman, superman, and wonder woman" (why couldn't we get this), Gunnverse. Am I missing one? I think I'm missing one. -

Thanks- I'm heading to the store in a bit and I'll look for 2099 there, I'll update this post when I do. EDIT: I couldn't get the scanner to work, and decided "Spend $4.79 to get a random one and use the box to figure out the scanner" was better than "Social situation of being a grown man standing alone in the lego aisle looking aggravated at his phone for an unknown length of time with a cart full of perishable groceries." Got Cyborg-Spider Woman, which is fine. It's not the 2099 I wanted, or somebody I would have kept built like Electric Miles, but it's parts that are clearly spider-man (unlike Spyder-bite, Sun Spider, or most of Web-Swinger) that I'll be happy to use on purist customs. The torso especially seems like it could be used for a chained up Raimi-style spider-man. While I disagree with some of the figure choices, no one can deny the detailing is immaculate. Yeah, it's a surprisingly good Doom design, not a grey iron man with a green cloak as I feared. If nothing else, the figure that comes out of this will work just fine as comic Doom. As for recolors, though, I'm not all that sure that it matters. The design work behind a print isn't the expensive part, swapping the colors is still a "new print". Unless you mean people personally recoloring the figure, in which case I agree it'd be easier to color some gold in silver areas than paint or print a new design. -

You got it! @Lordhelmet, have some figures and descriptions Same. A Reaper would be the most likely, I think, but I wouldn't mind a new tank or any of the scarif battle sets. Solo's going to be tricky, but I'll give it a try. Very solid calendars and battle packs- I like the addition of pajama dooku. Solo wave: Imperial Patrol Speeder ($9.99): Patrol Trooper, Imperial Emigration Officer. Kessel Millenium Falcon Microfighter ($12.99): Han Solo. A detachable segment for the escape pod is included. Lando Mech ($14.99): Yellow shirt Lando. The mech is built to look like L3-37. Galactic Thugs Battle Pack ($19.99): two speeder bikes and two crates- one with credit tiles and one with blasters and vribroblades with 1x Kessel Guard, 1x Pyke Enforcer, 1x Dryden Bodyguard, and 1x White Worm. Dryden Vos Battle ($29.99): Museum and desk builds (the desk has a maul hologram stored in a drawer, and one of the museum builds includes a Mandalorian chestplate and helmet) to topple some of the displays. Comes with Dryden Vos (double-sided face), Han Solo, and Qi'ra. AT-DT Attack ($44.99): AT-DT with 2x Imperial Army Trooper, 1x Mimban Stormtrooper, and 1x Mudtrooper. TIE Brute ($79.99): TIE Pilot, 1x Stormtrooper (Kessel Dust markings), L3-37, Lando, and Qi'ra. AT-Hauler ($109.99): Can hold an AT-DT or Conveyex car. Comes with Han Solo (army trooper), Beckett (Imperial disguise), Val (Imperial disguise), Rio (mudtrooper disguise), and Chewbacca (Muddy) Conveyex Heist ($159.99): Conveyex train with 5 cars- front and back engines, a passenger car, gunnery car, and coaxium car. Uses a rollercoaster track as train tracks, and includes the probe droid next Val destroys. Includes Han Solo, Chewbacca, Val, Beckett, Rio, 2x Imperial Gunner, 3x Range Trooper, and 1x Imperial Officer. UCS: UCS Millenium Falcon ($899.99- not entirely based on Solo, because I don't believe anything from the movie is much of a UCS candidate): Comes with a full interior and the following minifigures: Chewbacca, Han Solo (Young), Young Lando (space-hawiian shirt), Han Solo (ANH), Princess Leia, Luke Skywalker (Farmboy), C-3PO, R2-D2, Han Solo (Old), Rey, Finn, BB-8.
