  1. Hey, the sheer amount of effort that went into this thing means you can certainly be excused a missing 9. I'm working on mine right now, and even the $10 set is tough because of how few pieces there are to work with. (here it is, by the way. In a spoiler so as not to hijack your thread)
  2. Very nice, I could easily see this being the next evolution of monster hunters/hidden side, and I like the 1950s era.
  3. I like it! A nice way to bring that era into lego. (And a sweet deal on the 940 pc set... )
  4. I think it'd more likely be one of those random snowtrooper heads than the Vi Moradi head. That said, neither head looks old enough to be Sloane at the point of time she's in Squadrons at. Maybe for a figure based on her A New Dawn appearance or something. Edit: No, wait, there's a short story or something where she meets vader. I never read it but they reference it in one of the books. It's such a weird choice, especially since a character like Piett or Ozzel would fit the set better. I honestly have no idea why they chose her. I'm not really complaining, since I wasn't gonna buy the bomber anyway and the lack of a new piett or ozzel is offset by the excitement at an EU character like Sloane, but I don't understand what's going through lego's mind there. That said, they've made a lot of baffling decisions lately, so if a weird choice isn't a bad choice, I'm fine with it.
  5. Here's the ideal list IMO: Here's what I think we're more likely to get, based on the last one:
  6. Now I'm getting completely off topic, but Better Call Saul is something I think has a CHANCE at getting lego sets (unlike BB, which will never). I'm only on season 3, but so far the violence is pretty sparse, and not much more violent than, like, batman v superman or other stuff they've done sets for. On the other hand, they probably don't want any sort of connection to BB whatsoever, which I get. What was the original point again? Lego's done memes in sets/games before? Yeah, they've done a lot, especially recently. A M0RB1N license plate is not out of the question. I 100% agree with the wider sentiment. There's so much content (and TBH I think a lot of it's been slipping recently. Used to be almost every film was pretty solid, now we have a lot more films and a lot of shows, but many of them are pretty weak) that lego can't produce sets for everything. On the other hand, we're getting 5 sets based on a single movie, and not even a big event movie like avengers. You'd think one of the sets could have been moon knight or something...
  7. don'tbuyasecondonedon'tbuyasecondonedon'tbuyasecondoneAGH I'm gonna buy a second one.
  8. Like @Kdapt-Preacher, I suppose we can't 100% say that it's not, but you understand how ridiculous that sounds, right? I think it's most likely that it was a case of them wanting to do a GAR vehicle around that price point, then putting a random jedi with it. But even if they for some reason decided to have them both together, you could just as easily say it's from battlefront 2005, a game featuring both of them. So still game-based. Seems like an odd choice to me, but if it means we get more game-based characters (CalKestisCalKestisCalKestisCalKestisCalKestisCalKestis), then I'm all for it.
  9. BETTER! CALL! MAUL! BETTER! CALL! MAUL! BETTER! CALL! MAUL! Edit: If you know, you know. Literally no decisions about BP 2 have made sense to me, starting with not recasting. (not to dig that up again, but really, I don't see how recasting is disrespectful. The CGI stuff... that's different, but recasting seems perfectly normal) But the sheer amount of sets for this film, a film that doesn't include the main character of the previous one... even if the movie does well, I think it's nuts that they made so many sets for it. I don't understand why they gave it so many in relation to other movies. Everyone assumes Star Lord is just a big fan of the 41st and 43rd American presidents, that's all. No other double meanings.
  10. Yeah, that's what I meant by "we were due MBS this year but the RC took it's spot". We would have gotten an MBS this year according to the pattern, but the RC is coming out at that time instead. I feel bad to keep shooting you down like this since I feel like every post you've made is about how much you want this set, but I just don't see it happening. Even though it was featured more in TCW, it doesn't change the fact that there are other prequel MBS more likely, not to mention the 3+ OT MBS sets that are practically shoe-ins (Jabba's palace, Hoth, Endor), and the assumption that a death star remake (which is another thing we're due) would take up an MBS slot. We aren't getting a jedi temple anytime soon.
  11. Thanks! The citadel tower was a lot of fun to build. Maybe the computer terminal could be worked into the library if I removed one of the shelves? Thank you! I also like brick-built creatures, although I'll admit the Orbacks aren't really my best work. (I'd say it's my Rancor) The Inquisitorius set is one I think I might buy the parts for. I thought the final fight was just about the right level of challenging, but the Malicos fight on the other hand.... the fact that you had to walk along the big hallway and past the two nightbrothers EVERY TIME you died got me pretty annoyed by the time I finally killed him. Thanks! I'd love to see your attempt at the fanblade! (And now you've got me struggling to enter that contest without access to most of my physical collection... I'm gonna get killed on the figures in my sets there) I'd also love to hear more in depth thoughts on the sets. Thanks so much! I'm glad you like your set, and I agree lego should make a new geonosian set sometime soon. The Hoth set was one I chose as part of something I've been thinking for awhile now, that it's not that lego makes too many hoth sets as people say, but that they don't properly utilize hoth. I mean, we haven't had a proper generator or ion cannon yet! Thanks! Yeah, the arc cannon one was one I thought ended up pretty nice (though the proposed figure selection definately doesn't hurt it either... honestly just anyone from rebels at this point... lego please...) Thanks! Even at one microfighter a year, I think Luke's Landspeeder is coming just because lego seems to have a physical inability to stop producing them. Dread it, run from it, more landspeeders arrive all the same.
  12. I'm still in shock. I want this so badly. Lego Morbius will solve all world problems. To be fair, the memes have been around since months before the release of the film, and they've been pretty big since the films released. The timeline's a little too short to make the full design of the set meme-based, but it wouldn't be hard at all for them to make a M0RB1N license plate or something. I've thought for years that the ThanosCopter would make an excellent juniors set. They could even throw in exclusive figures like Hellcat or regular-cops-that-can-arrest-thanos-somehow
  13. To be fair, I think a lot of people know the ship, just not the name. Regardless, another excellent build. Circles are hard, and this is a pretty solid circular ship.
  14. As of a year or two ago I'd say 4 figs and a buildable modok was perfectly plausible for a $30 set, but now I'd be shocked if all three heroes are included. Nah, he just doesn't want miles to know he can fly. Never let them know your next move. The Morbmobile is incredible. I wonder if it's the car he drives in the post credits scene (which would be phenomenal), or a souped-up ridiculous looking car in his color scheme with fangs and all that (which would be just as incredible)
  15. Sloane just doesn't wear a hat all that often, my guess is they just do hair. As far as book/comic/game characters go, this is a weird choice and I would have preferred, like, Cal or someone, but if this means we're getting more figs from stuff besides the movies and shows, I'm in. I'm a little conflicted on the unique torsos for the troopers, but I suppose the only part we really needed was the helmet. Also great to have the macrobinocs and blue visors confirmed. The AV-7 is nice as well. I prefer undersized builds to nonsense builds. Actually, now I'm on a tangent and here's my ranking system: Best: Canon, correctly sized vehicles, or terrain. (I.E the patrol speeder from solo or the speeder bike from the snowtrooper pack, the snow mound from the snowtrooper pack, the debris from the mandalorian pack) Nice: Undersized/oversized canon vehicles (new AV-7 for example) No: Weird non canon speeders (most battle packs, but the inferno squad speeder sticks out in my mind as the worst offender)
  16. I love the design of the P-tower, especially how you used the little mechanical claw parts. Unfortunately, the black background means I can't make out the probe.
  17. Welp, it's finally here! 16 new mocs (or rather, 15 new mocs and a Suwantek I posted midway through the creation of the sets in the list) based on community suggestions. This was a lot of work, especially since I moved to college halfway through, but I think it was worth it in the end. So, without further ado, here we go! Polybag GWP: Razor Crest (53 pcs, suggested by @Omand) Normally there will be a spoiler bar to click for more images and details, but... this is a polybag. Boxed GWP: Temple Archives (344 pcs, suggested by @TeddytheSpoon) Same here. Piece count seems a little high, but it's mostly 1x2 plates, so I think it balances out. Comes with Jocasta Nu. Ahsoka's Jedi Starfighter Microfighter (104 pcs, suggested by @Per_SW) Microfighter: Luke's Landspeeder (106 pcs) Microfighter dual pack: Speeder Chase (200 pcs, suggested by @TeddytheSpoon) Battle Pack: Endor Imperials Battle Pack (99 pcs) Resistance Orbacks Battle Pack (132 pcs, suggested by the inaccurately named @CrappyMocMaker) Geonosis Duel (186 pcs, suggested by @CrappyMocMaker) Geonosis Swarm (386 pcs, suggested by @ArrowBricks) V-19 Torrent (511 pcs, suggested by @Per_SW) AT-DP Arc Cannon Prototype (594 pcs, suggested by @Agent Kallus) Hoth Defense (984 pcs) Scarif Citadel Tower (1472 pcs, suggested by @CrappyMocMaker) Suwantek TL-1800 Freighter (1551 pcs) Exogol Diorama (394 pcs, suggested by @TeddytheSpoon) The quote would be "And I... am all the jedi". Comes with Rey, Ben, and the Reborn Emperor. There's a compartment in the back to store a figure depending on what scene you want to display. Inquisitorius Diorama (806 pcs, suggested by @Agent Kallus) Well, that's the wave. Months of work, and I think it paid off. Let me know what you think!
  18. Yeah, but zemo's really cool and I'm not sure where else he'd show up. CA:NWO is a hulk movie now apparently. A twist that Val's working with/for him would be cool, and it also could be explained that he's doing this to have the super soldiers under his supervision. 100% same here. A black panther helmet for $60-80USD would be a perfectly fine set. But when it's this or the bugle, I choose the bugle. Actually, I'm gonna try for the Bugle this Christmas. Have to get it before it retires, after all. And it'll be nice to finally have a version of my boy Matt Murdock that's not just a bad purist custom.
  19. Aside from @Meadius's excellent point about the vastly different landscape for lego, that was right around the time TPM released. Maul was THE villain back then, so it definately wasn't as weird of a choice as a maul bust would be today. A Thanos bust would be more akin to the maul one.
  20. It used to be allowed, but never happened. Lots of sets got there, though, Luke's lightsaber, the aforementioned bespin set, IIRC the jedi council. It was kind of a soft rule that they wouldn't accept sets based on existing themes, but it was always at least allowed to be submitted.
  21. I would like to see the trailer. A logo, a title, something. (I've heard Indiana Jones and the Race Against Time as a rumored title, which sounds simultaneously indy-brand goofy and absolutely badass)
  22. Almost the entire announced cast is from either BW or TFATWS (Aside from ghost). I don't want a huuuuge team, but at the very least, Abomination would be nice. I'm hoping it's got around 10 members: The 7 announced members, Abomination, Zemo, and around 2 new guys. TBH, it's possible the only reason they didn't introduce the new ones is because they haven't been cast yet. (Though there really wasn't a reason for them not to announce Zemo...he probably isn't part of the team) Glad to respark some hope. Abomination is long overdue and if ThunderBolts is a team-up movie, it'll hopefully get 3-5 sets, more than enough room to get all the members.
  23. Hell yeah he is! Though not for a couple years. I think they just didn't want to spoil she-hulk's ending. (I don't have any leaks or info on that, I haven't even watched more than ep1, I'm just saying he totally is gonna end up in the thunderbolts) And if so, a bigfig's on the table.
  24. Well, before you called the statue ugly, I would have said "It's a famous statue and being able to display one of my favorite movie scenes of all time would be amazing" or something like that. But now you've insulted lady liberty, and that means war. But actually, aside from her being French... "ugly"? Really? The only part of that I could see is the greenish color (Which I think is fine but I could understand how one could see it as a bit odd), and NWH even made it copper-colored again! As for the reason I like the statue of liberty so much (which isn't the main reason I'd want that to be the $500 set. My favorite marvel sets are ones like the bridge battle and daily bugle, where there's very nice architecture, but they function as scenery/background for the heroes), it A: looks cool and B: It's a symbol of America and the founding values in the constitution, which I'm a pretty big fan of as an American. Exactly. If you're not even specifically a lego fan, you'd probably look pretty hard at other busts and BP merchandise.
  25. Samus's armor has always been tough to pull off, and her Dread color scheme makes it even harder IMO. All that said, you've done a solid job at recreating it. The fact that it retains so many points of articulation is an achievement by itself. When it comes down to it, it's probably the best Samus that can be done at this scale, and I commend you for it.
