Wishlist: Future Star Wars Sets and Minifigures
Mandalorianknight replied to MKJoshA's topic in LEGO Star Wars
That's a solid wave. I'd say if we ever did go down this road it'd probably be more like starfighters than landspeeders. Ahsoka Wave- there's definitely some bias in giving it it's own wave, but to it's credit not many live-action disney+ shows get multiple seasons. For SW it's only mando, Ahsoka, and Andor, and andor is not the kind of show to get waves of toys. Howler Ambush ($9.99): Buildable Howler and rock. Comes with Sabine Wren (poncho, no helmet) and a bandit. The Chimera ($12.99): Grand Admiral Thrawn Ronin Ahsoka Mech ($14.99): Gunmetal mech with a white side robe that has a conical hat-style covering and two white swords. Comes with Ahsoka Tano (grey) Imperial Assassins ($19.99): 2x HK-87 droid (beige), 2x Elsbeth Mercenary. Build is a droid charging station and armory. Pathway to Peridea ($34.99): Peridea shrine with orb/key, turntables, and a function to launch rocks, or a figure off the edge of the shine. Comes with Ahsoka Tano (Grey) and Baylan Skoll Ambush at Sabine Wren's home ($54.99): Sabine Wren's home (upper level with interior room containing bed, armor in storage, speeder bike helmet, ezra hologram, and orb/key, and elevator to the ground) and speeder bike. Comes with Sabine Wren (orange outfit), a molded Loth-Cat, 2x HK-87 droid (red) and Shin Hati. Imperial Gunship ($69.99): Imperial Patrol Gunship with Ezra Bridger, Captain Enoch, and 4x Night Trooper. Nightsister Citadel Attack ($129.99): Nightsister citadel with lower level stable containing "cargo" crates and a stairwell passing a mid-level thrawn's command center to the roof shrine. Comes with 3x howler builds as well as Ezra Bridger, Ahsoka Tano (White), Sabine Wren (armor), Morgan Elsbeth, Grand Admiral Thrawn, 2x Night Trooper, 2x Nightdeath trooper, and the three nightsister mothers. Jedi Shuttle vs Marrok's Starfighter ($169.99): Jedi Shuttle (~1300 pcs) with 2-seater cockpit and interior cabin as well as Marrok's starfighter (~350 pcs). Comes with Ahsoka Tano (Grey), Sabine Wren (No armor), Huyang, Marrok, and 1x Elsbeth Mercenary Pilot UCS Ahsoka Tano's Jedi Shuttle ($239.99): includes 3-seater cockpit, interior bunks between the cockpit and main cabin, main cabin with a function to have the table/chairs pop out of the floor, and interior lightsaber assembly room at the back. Comes with Ahsoka Tano (Spacesuit), Huyang, and Sabine Wren (Training) Helmet: Sabine Wren Helmet ($69.99) Diorama: World Between Worlds ($59.99): WBW backdrop and bridge with Ahsoka Tano (Grey) and Anakin Skywalker. Quote is "Ahsoka, within you will be everything I am. All the knowledge I possess. Just as I inherited knowledge from my Master and he from his. You’re part of a legacy." Diorama: Peridea Pilgrimage ($79.99): Forced-perspective Mortis God statues (the heads and upper torsos) with the Father's hand at the front. Includes Baylan Skoll (finale design with furs). Quote is "What I seek... is the beginning. So I may finally bring this cycle to an end." Midi-scale: Chimera Star Destroyer and Hyperdrive Ring ($109.99): Midi-scale Chimera with hyperdrive ring. -
LEGO Star Wars Set Discussion 2025 - READ FIRST POST!!!
Mandalorianknight replied to MKJoshA's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Exactly. This isn't "Find it on discount and it's a good set with a weird figure". This is "The entire set is compromised" You'd hope, but lego normally pads these things out. The only gimmick line I can think of that didn't get multiple waves was Action Battle- for something this intensive, I can't see lego rolling over and giving up so fast. Even Vidyo made it a full year or two- my hopes for the august wave are not particularly high. Given that the march wave frontloads OT stuff, whereas IIRC the january wave is all TCW/Mando/etc, I can't see us getting any normal OT sets, so even if it's not SMART clone slop, it'll probably still be clone stuff. The only real hope I have is for "dumb" Ahsoka S2 sets. Ironically, though it seems we're going to get a good 5 or 6 OT sets this year, we'll likely be entering year 2 without a single normal OT system set. Though the TMAG sets should include snow or stormtroopers, thankfully meaning we don't go two full years without a single OT imperial trooper in a system retail set. It's possible, but I'd want to see some more concrete data. The clone stuff's really only popped up in the last few years, so I wouldn't say they've been using this strategy long if that's the case. Similarly, the TIE bomber seems to have done very well, being that it's still on shelves (but not clearance, at least near me). That also could be due to it's good value for money, but you know lego will never learn THAT lesson. And while I could definitely see rebel battle packs doing worse than clone or imperial ones, I can't see there being a huge difference between stormtroopers and the 73rd consecutive 501st legion battlepack. Our last falcon was also six years ago. It's not like the X-wing and TIE where we get one every three years like clockwork. Sure, but like I said, it resets the clock on when we can get this stuff again. I want a snowspeeder with the new canopy. It's been 15 years since our last OT falcon. And now I likely have to wait until 2030ish for both since lego's likely making these "smart" sets of them. Also just for you lego's going to throw a brand new alien or two into the "smart" cantina purely to make sure the wave is an absolute wash for every possible perspective. I also have very little hope left for any sort of 2027 anniversary wave for the start of the saga. Getting a Cantina, Red Five X-wing, TIE Advanced at the very least (And I'm fairly confident we'll see an ANH falcon as well) is bad news for any sort of ANH wave in 2027. The only thing I'm still holding out for is a new UCS Tantive IV that year. -
"Highest grossing comic book movie of the year" in a year where all marvel's outings lost money isn't much praise. Also, it seems very unlikely it turned a profit. The movie cost $225 million to make and $125 million to market. Given general profit sharing is 50/50, and the movie made $615 million total... it seems like it lost around $135 million. Ironically, it's somewhat possible it could have just barely turned a profit, or at least gotten a lot more in the realm of "eh, just about broke even" had Gunn not taken a $15 million paycheck compared to the star of the movie's $750,000. And those numbers aren't from some sketchy blog or something, that's Forbes and Variety. Those aren't great numbers, and DEFINITELY aren't "lego missed out/lego needs to rush and make some sets post-film" numbers. If I was lego I wouldn't be very confident that those are "make sets for the sequel" numbers. This was NOT the hit that DC needed. Doesn't everyone own multiple shadow boxes? I have 17. I thought the metric of a DC fan was how many shadow boxes you owned.

Yup. I can't understand what the appeal is here. Kids should be imagining the noises themselves, not need to be handheld by "smart" tech, and there's no way lego's marketing screwed up enough to make people think ADULTS were interested in this. I would die laughing if the $160 set is the same emperor's throne room design they used in 2023 then downscaled slightly in the 2025 death star. The designer came up with it and was like "yeah, this is something special. We gotta make sure every demo gets ahold of this specific design scheme" It's not even a bad design, it would just be so funny if they re-used it three times in four years. Especially if the smart brick jumps the price $60 in three years. I almost hope they aren't, lego being forced to recall these because the warning label rubs off would be the funniest thing ever. And there has never been a more important opportunity to hold the line. This isn't "don't buy the super overpriced sets if you want your legos to stay semi-reasonably priced", this is "don't buy the smart brick sets if you want your legos to stay... lego" Unfortunately I'm deeply concerned about the "normal" aspects of the sets. We can already assume most of the builds with be severely compromised to accommodate smart brick functionality if the X-wing is any indication. My biggest gripe, and biggest point of confusion, is why these all appear to be OT sets. My biggest gripe, because I was begging for the clone onslaught to be abated and us to actually get some OT sets next year, and in a cruel twist of the monkey's pay they're all horribly compromised by smart bricks. Worse than simply not being normal OT sets, they reset the clock on when we'll get more. Good luck getting a normal OT snowspeeder or falcon anytime soon now that these abominations will be clogging shelves. My biggest confusion because why choose the OT? Lego historically does like to start off gimmick lines with OT sets, but given the Clone Barrage of recent years you'd assume they think the clones or Mando hold more sway over kids. Why not use them? It's not like the 18+ sublines where your target demo is in large part older adults, they can't possibly think anyone over that 6-12 label on the box would be interested in these. -

Unfortunately (because I wanted a new normal snowspeeder and this'll be smart brick) you're probably right. I dunno I think i'd take light-up lightsaber minifigures over smart figures. A little light doesn't bother me as much as whatever "ai" tech they've crammed into these things, and I HATE toys and collectibles that make noise. You just know that no matter what you do or how little charging it has, you're going to at some point hear Luke whining at a completely random time when you're not even near the figure. I'd buy a Mara Jade Brickhead. I think others have pointed out that unless lego is totally fine with the safety labels rubbing off, it's unlikely this is printed, but rather etched in some way, meaning they probably can't do it to the standards or colors you'd want for side torso printing (if anyone would want that... I don't know why you would) I will army-build Smart Greedos if that's a feature. Hate the smart figures with a burning passion. People have already brought up all the many reasons- unnecessary technical integration, imposition on creative play for kids, annoying noises, torsos and legs being welded hampering customizability, side and back printing making the figure look dumb, risks of wireless charging devices, etc. I really hope these dramatically fail. -
Marvel Superheroes 2025 - Rumors & Discussion
Mandalorianknight replied to Clone OPatra's topic in LEGO Licensed
I hope not, for the excellent reasons @Scarilian lists below. Same. I've wanted a TIE advanced for years, and even though the rumored PPP sounds nice, I will avoid it if it includes smart figures. Lego has a weird thing against remaking comic-con figures, but the major exception is when those characters/variants show up in movies. I think we've got a good shot at a symbiote figure since, as you say, we'll probably see the suit sometime soon. There was leaked concept art YEARS ago. -
It didn't work for clone troopers but now that it's not "every helmeted SW character" it wouldn't mind if they kept it around every now and then. There are still some characters it works for, and at the end of the day so long as we have the variety of faces for grunts we currently do, I'm OK with them not spending more prints on helmeted goons. I thought the angry clones were clones of Space Paul Giamatti, hence why they used the head for Rhino as well. Do "Movie" and "glory" not rhyme in england? Over here they both end in the -ee sound.

I feel like impersonating the pope is probably a bridge too far but I was really tempted to reply to this with "you can't prove I failed" Right, I remember seeing something in the news about them reviving Thomas Malthus to be the CEO. They couldn't get him to come in for a few days after being defrosted because he kept watching Infinity War on loop.

And in Outer Rim, though that's an even more obscure source- we likely won't see any of them unless we get a War of the Bounty Hunters movie or series. It'd be a nice store exclusive. I didn't like the show much- unlike TCW and rebels it didn't run long enough to grow beyond the kid appeal vibes- but the ship designs were strong and I wouldn't mind a Fireball set. Mandalorian Wave: Mudhorn Challenge ($9.99): Buildable Mudhorn with Mando (muddy) and Baby Yoda in his pram. Also includes an egg piece. Bo-Katan's Kom'rak ship ($12.99): Bo-Katan Kryze The Mandalorian Mech ($14.99): Comes with a shoulder turret for Baby Yoda. Includes Mando (beskar armor, new wave-standard gunmetal color for cloth) and baby yoda. Imperial Remnant battle pack ($19.99): 1x Stormtrooper (dirty), 1x Death Trooper, 1x Incinerator Trooper, and 1x Scout Trooper (dirty). Builds are a speeder bike and E-web. Rescuing the child ($37.99): Building facade with sliding door as well as the large hover cannon. Comes with The Mandalorian (Pilot outfit), IG-11, Grogu, and two raiders. The Mandalorian's N-1 starfighter ($44.99): more accurately scaled than the 2023 version. Comes with The Mandalorian, Grogu, R5-D4, and Greef Karga (S3) TIE Outlander ($69.99): TIE Outlander with Moff Gideon, The Client, Dr. Pershing, and The Mandalorian (With nylon cord to attach to the tie.) Assault on Tython ($129.99): Imperial Lander (~850 pcs) and Tython Shrine (~400 pcs) builds. Comes with 1x TIE Pilot, 1x Mortar Trooper, 2x Stormtrooper, 2x Dark Trooper, The Mandalorian, Grogu, Boba Fett (damaged armor), and Fennec Shand. The Razor Crest ($179.99): Larger and more detailed than 2020 model. I mean, there'll be more anniversaries... there's just a good chance they won't include new sets or recognition from lego. -
Not true, we have Batman's archenemy this wave, Golden Batman. I will not tolerate this batfleck slander. He's certainly an antiheroic batman in BvS one who's lost his way after losing Robin (or potentially the original Joker successfully turning Robin into a joker batman beyond style, I think there's some solid evidence for that), but he's never an outright villain, and has a four straight hours of redemption arc afterwards. Speak for youself. That is my fault, I didn't realize that lego had teamed up with apple. No, LEGO batman is too violent for lego to make sets on. He's one of the most evil versions of the character- none of the live-action batman ever tore generic criminals limb from limb in wild melees.

We're about due for an AT-ST, and long overdue for a normal endor one. Unfortunately it doesn't seem like any of the march wave sets could be it- 75424 is $50 for 347 pieces, but I don't think that's it. The last AT-ST was the same price for over two hundred more pieces. Taking a 200 piece cut in three years for the same price is roughly in line with how LSW works nowadays, but I think it's more likely we'd see an AT-ST with a similar or greater piece count for more money. I just don't see how they could do one at 347 pieces in the modern design scheme, unless the set contained a smart brick and it looks like the new X-wing. Interesting. The good news (maybe) is that it probably means they see you as "one of them" rather than a stuffy authority figure, but that would also mean you can't kill memes by using them yourself. Those ancient droids or the nightmare fuel filoni sketches he's been tweeting would both make good buildible figure sets, I assume one of them will be the Peridea set and we'll get two NR/Imperial sets alongside it. If I had to guess we'll get Ezra's A-wing alongside some sort of imperial vehicle, and then a set based on the ground assault on Dathomir. Maybe a Chimera if we're really lucky, but it hasn't been too long since the last ISD and lego may also want to save it for the filoni movie if that ever ends up going into production. -
I don't believe it's very well known in america, which is one of the larger markets, so that would be my guess. Not saying it's a good or bad thing but it's probably why. The only time i can think of where we got a theme based on something not known in america was the Journey-to-the-west-inspired Monkie Kid, which was done to break into another major market, China. I don't know if China even has access to Miraculous. Shame- I'm not very familiar with the show but the animation looks very nice. French animation is always solid, I loved the Iron Man cartoon from that French studio when I was a kid. TMNT would be nice to get full sets of again. We'd never get a Last Ronin-marketed set, but sneaking in a Last Ronin Michealangelo minifigure into something would definitely have me bricklinking it at the very least. Though my one remaining dream for a TLG theme, now that Indy and Dune got sets, is for Transformers to break into a full Energon Universe theme with Void Rivals sets. A theme based on comics without associated cartoons or movies is never going to happen, but rumor is the Energon Universe IS getting a cartoon, so it'll all hinge on whether or not they can dull it to TV-14. Void Rivals itself isn't anything too violent or dark for lego (though I buy one volume at a time so maybe something horrible happened between issues 17 and 25), but the associated Transformers comic has some human deaths that if adapted to a cartoon would definitely hit a TV-MA rating.

I think a Red Kom'rk is fairly likely to see in the next few years. Maul's popular, mandalorians are popular, and clones are popular, and this set could include them all. Throw in ARC Jesse to get the clone bros going wild. As improbable as they are I REALLY want all the ESB bounty hunter ships. The Mist Hunter, Punishing One, IG-2000, and Hound's Tooth would all be excellent! Were we not supposed to Kragle everything together? I thought the whole point of lego was to put the sets together exactly as the instructions say with glue to keep them in place on a shelf forever. Are... are we supposed to re-use the bricks for... creativity? Scattershot animation wave based on the other projects (TBB, Clone Wars 2003, Resistance, Tales, Visions): Dooku's Fall ($9.99): small coruscant hanger build with collapsing/raising door feature and two turntables. Comes with Young Dooku and Yaddle. Azure Angel Microfighter ($12.99): Anakin Skywalker (Clone Wars 2003) Crosshair Mech ($14.99): Gunmetal and maroon mech with a massive sniper rifle and scope built above the cockpit with Republic Crosshair. Imperial Clones battle pack ($19.99): 2x TK trooper, Hunter ARF trooper (with hounds), and an Imperial Commando. Build is a dark gray, accurately scaled AT-RT. V-wing Attack ($29.99): V-wing starfighter with Hunter (S1, new helmet mold), a TK trooper pilot, and Scorch Droid Gunship ($69.99): Comes with General Grievous (Cape), 2x Magnaguard, Chancellor Palpatine, Mace Windu, Roron Corobb, and Shaak Ti Resistance Aces ($99.99): The Fireball and Torra Doza's racer with Kazuda Xiono, Torra Doza, Jarek Yeager, CB-23, and Commander Pyre The Havoc Marauder ($129.99): Havoc Marauder (much larger, based on the second season of the show, no side builds) with Hunter, Wrecker, Tech, Echo, and Omega. Muunilist Gunship ($149.99): Muunilist-marked republic gunship with 2x Clone Pilot, Captain Fordo, 3x ARC trooper (one of whom uses a front-mounted neck bracket to set the comical cannon on), Obi-Wan Kenobi (Armor), and a buildable Durge. (Retailer Exclusive) The Ninth Jedi ($99.99): The Margrave's temple build with crystalline panel, turntables and other action features, as well as side builds of Kara's speeder and Juro's mech. Comes with Jedi Kara, Ethan, Margrave Juro, Homen, and sith acolytes Roden, Niizo, Hen Jin, and Hanbei UCS ARC-170 ($239.99): Muunilist-painted ARC-170 with exclusive figures of Captain Fordo (arm printing) and a clone pilot. Helmet: Captain Fordo ($69.99) Diorama: Star Destroyer Showdown ($79.99): Star Destroyer ruins with Hunter, Omega, Todo, and Cad Bane. Quote is "I've taken down so many clones over the years. Once you figure out one, the rest are easy." - Cad Bane Midi-scale: The Colossus Refueling Station ($49.99): Comes with various miniature aces. -

For select members of the 501st and then the Bad Batch, maybe. Obviously kids are going to identify more with protagonists than enemy ranks. But take this year for example. Nobody's waxing poetic about Bly or Bacara's character development. There's always an exception, no disrespect to you or your army. I tried to army-build Jawas as a kid. And I've successfully built quite a stash of rebel fleet troopers, although I feel like that's more standard, they are kinda the main uniformed forces for the rebellion. The Allegiance/Choices duology is the best stormtrooper-focused story I can think of, and the only one where the protagonists are stormtroopers who don't almost immediately join the rebels and instead continue to serve the empire. (kind of) But as you say, that's a few legends novels, not a cartoon aimed at kids. Not many grew up with it. -

I think in terms of toy science/toy economics that's almost inarguable. Heroes and hero vehicle/locations sell better than villain ones. The cool armored faction will generally do better than spindly robots or unarmored humans/humanoids. With the OT and ST these roughly balance eachother out, but for the PT the clones are not only the good guys but the most toyetic designs. This correlates to how few separatist sets we get nowadays. The same is true for imperial legions, we're just suffering from clone frenzy right now so they've taken a backseat. Though we still get some solid ones. A batch of sales just hit my local walmart, and the results were kind of surprising. Logo's down to $50, which we all knew was coming and if it hits $40 I'll pick up. The 327th pack, as I predicted, managed to hit down to $36 only 2.5 months into it's life cycle, which is still far too overpriced for me to consider, but a significant discount. The surprising thing is that Slave One has joined the U-wing and ARC-170 in being discounted within a few months of release, now at $60. (The Arc's been at $55 for awhile, as has the U-wing at $60). What's odd is I think most of us had considered these the best sets of the year for SW, and you'd think that would correspond to sales, but it doesn't seem to have done so. Battle packs, Ahsoka's starfighter, and even the Turbo Tank have yet to be discounted around me whilst these all have- Slave One shockingly close to it's release, too, implying they've struggled to move ANY units. -
How are we in a state of the theme where I'd unironically love to get the villain goons in sets again. Super low budget for lego too, just a re-used face and no torso print. Actual comment from either the design team, liaison from DC, or some executive. "Wonder Woman? She was only in, like, one or two batman movies. And we JUST DID a superman. Let's get the character everyone really wants- Bruce Wayne. He's been in EVERY batman movie." You accuse me of mocking and yet you make such a blunder as expecting the mad hatter figure to come with a top hat? Lego doesn't have the budget for that! They know all the REAL batman fans have that purple top hat from 4+ arkham, so he'll be included without it as an "easter egg" to that set. Also he uses a totally different head print, this one. Totally different facial structure and expression.

You see, the advantage is unlike a lot of the other brain-rotted numbers, 6-7 doesn't have a school-inappropriate connotation, so there's nothing stopping you from using it in front of the kids, which is the fastest way to get the kids to stop. Nothing kills a meme for students faster than an instructor using it. I think 2027 will be the most likely- or an Ahsoka S3/HTTE sequel movie, as I doubt the force equivalent of the devil is defeated in a single season, so we'll see her again- but like you say, non-zero that she shows up this year in an ahsoka S2 set. Could be as simple as a minifigure of "the mother" or "Peridea hermit" or something, where it's not even a spoiler because she's not branded as Abeloth. This is also one of the reasons they've been buckshotting so many legions. Partially for collectors I'm sure, but a LOT of parents don't get or like army-building as a concept and don't want to buy their kid multiples of the same set, battle pack branding or not. Flooding the market with clone battle packs fixes that issue- suddenly the kid's christmas list is like 4-8 different sets, but they're all clone battle packs. Yup. He's not any more desirable for kids or obscure than the kaminoans, he just got saddled with a less toyetic movie. The issue, as you say, is the phantom menace as a whole. Even with your suggestions, we just had an MTT, so it'll likely be awhile before the next (11 years between the last two, 7 before that...) and I think there's a good chance we don't see another gungan sub for QUITE awhile. -
You and @psqidexslizer are both laughably wrong. I don't know how either of you could think this figure was anything besides the obvious- Firefly showing up for his court date, implying the next D2C is a gotham courthouse. Lego thought the jumpsuits were too generous, so this time all the villains will be in that exact suit piece with plain black legs. (This was going to be a professor X joke and I was going to say the next D2C would be DC branded but literally just an X-men set, but I realized halfway through that it's LITERALLY a professor X minifigure.)

Ironically it's different in that after the newer leaked lists lowered the price, it's $10 cheaper than the $70 ARC-170. Once more making it difficult to believe it includes even a "smart" minifigure. Unfortunately I think the boss is less likely. We only got Lama and Taun because they got dropped into a Jedi Starfighter and Slave One respectively, both popular combat spacecraft owned by major characters. There's just nothing you can put Nass in that's on that level. TPM as a whole seriously suffers from how the movie is set up- the lack of a "cool" galactic hero faction (Respectfully kids are not out here army building the naboo security or gungan army) really hurts the set potential, as does the fact that there's only two playscale-set-makeable droid vehicles involved that show up in the clone wars. I think sets in general are expected to do better if they have appeal outside recreating the specific scene- a TIE fighter or AT-TE can be used for plausible storytelling play anywhere in their respective eras, but there aren't as many play scenarios Anakin's Podracer or a Naboo Royal Starfighter would fit into. I think this is also one of the reasons (but not the only one) lego prefers vehicles to location-locked playsets- Yoda's hut is great but there's only so many scenarios you can realistically play out there. A similar thing holds true for noncombat vehicles- Anakin's Podracer doesn't fit into as many star wars play patterns. I know technically speaking with enough creativity any vehicle fits anywhere in the timeline, but I know when I was a kid I liked to imagine when I played that my stories took place during the clone wars, or the galactic civil war, or after ROTJ. I think most kids play that way, too- at least most kids I personally know have their collections split between "clones and droids" and "rebels and stormtroopers". I may be Swordy-ing a situation that doesn't actually require this level of analysis, and I'm sure being sword'ied about what I mean about set archtypes that sell in terms of lore applications would be helpful, but I think my general point that TPM doesn't have much bestselling set material and Boss Nass suffering from that gets across well enough. Far be it from me to lecture someone on excessive negativity about the state of lego star wars, but in this case, are you sure your personal negativity isn't impacting how you think they sell? I've talked about this before as something that won't do well long-term regardless of the specific design, I'm confident that the clone frenzy is a bubble that's going to pop if lego keeps flooding the market with more, but it's undeniable that there's some significant demand. Clearly at the very least, lego BELIEVES they're selling well- if they really thought switching back to the 2014 style printing for future sets would bring sales up by a statistically significant amount, they would, it's not like it would cost more money for them to do so. -

Putting aside that you'd at least want a different build for the backpack, the tubing would be nice to see as well. A new mold with the tube running along the side of the helmet or something would be unlikely, but even just throwing print for a loop of tubing onto the upper torso would be something. I'm not saying it's some travesty lego hasn't done them, but they're something I'd like to see. Or the more unique Legends Spacetrooper with a new armor/head mold and another new mold for a specialzed arm with the elbow cannon, miniature proton torpedo launcher, or any of the other weapons. (Seriously, wookiepedia refers to these guys as "the equivalent of a light tank") That might be a bit hasty, we don't even know what most of the march the sets are. What if that 215 piece $40 set is a 67th legion battle pack? What if the 666 piece set includes Abeloth or new Devaronians? I still think the Advanced doesn't have a smart brick. 473 pieces for $60 is just too suspiciously good value for SW in 2025 to have much integration beyond some stickers or maybe a figure. I mean again, we don't even need to speculate much. With how overpriced some of these sets are, the fact that they're selling and lego continues to believe it's viable to produce more of them implies there aren't mostly disliked, or that there's a large swath of the market that claims to hate and complain about them and yet is buying up all the sets. Gotta know who this is. -

I don't know what data you're seeing, but I can assure you I've been following this and the price of the tank set, and the troopers, is more now than it used to be. Bricklink generally only shows data for the last six months, but from the bit of earlier data it provides you can see that the average price for both new AND used is higher than in the dataset from 2023/24. (Aside from New in January 2023, which is an outlier due to only having a single sale recorded in the entire month) Also, if you're putting helmet holes as the cutoff, there's literally no data you can realistically draw from? There's barely any sets with helmet-holed clones that have officially retired, and the few that have still have plenty of copies on shelves at walmarts and targets. Of course the price hasn't gone up when you can go to your local outlet and buy the set they came in at MSRP. -
Marvel Superheroes 2025 - Rumors & Discussion

There are a few reasons I think it's unlikely. One is that we're getting a small spider-man vs sandman set this january, so two anytime soon seems unlikely. Another is that lego is weirdly against symbiote spider-man despite for sure knowing how popular it would be. A third is, as I go into later in this comment, the construction site making a better overall set for kids. As for Franco, I don't know. He certainly has had some controversy about him, but given the New Goblin has a covered face I think lego could do it. We don't have a ton of precedent- we know Ezra Miller was cut from the Flash set (although rather than allegations and gross-but-technically-legal texts, he was actively out there committing a number of crimes on video, and we also don't know that his actions were why the set dropped Flash instead of lego's overall move away from anyone not named batman), but on that same token Horatio Sanz's Mythrol appeared in a set long after allegations were made against him. Johnny Depp's Jack Sparrow and Grindelwald also have, and I believe Grindelwald and the 2017 sparrow were after the allegations were out but before they were proven false. At the end of the day, given the covered face, precedent, etc, I think whatever you personally think, it seems that lego could make a New Goblin figure for a construction site set. It's not like they'd be paying Franco for using the suit and mask design. Yup. I mean, I guess nobody's technically getting this one, but by that same hand (pun intended) given there's no exclusive parts, we all COULD get it- which, as you say, is the point. The LOTR theme is also solely based on massive Icons sets at the moment, and putting aside that LOTR itself lends itself better to modulars (at least until we get Minas Tirith, Helm's deep, and maybe Moria), it's entirely focused on adult collectors who primarily dislike the hobbit. The system marvel sets are at least partially aimed at kids, and 4 heroes/villains in a set with plenty of viable play features is better than two in a set with, what, a play feature to flush sandman down a sewer in attempted murder? -

Peak. Don't step on the snake, or the tea ends up in the harbor. (My John Walker helmet arrived today, probably totally unrelated to any inclinations regarding dislike of british tea) Yeah, I think unfortunately the Advanced probably gets saddled with a smart figure (But again, such a reasonable $60 for 473 pieces price in 2025 makes me think it won't have anything more than a few mario-style scannable stickers). I'd hope we get multiple named officers, but even tarkin is probably wishful thinking. Tusken would also open up a Bantha side build, and I can't imagine they oversize Cobb's speeder that much so I assume it'll be the third figure. Deputy Slowdraw feels unlikely given his unfortunate demise in that scene and that he'd require new prints whereas the tusken could be re-used. Good comments on how the TMAG sets will convey the thematic degradation of the characters, I should have thought this through more. The Thrawn Trilogy Spacetroopers are epic, though unfortunately the ones in A New Hope are a lot more similar to normal stormtroopers than imperial Halo Spartans that can 1v1 the millennium falcon. Good point, the executor hasn't been retconned yet. Though given all other imperial ships have been concretely redefined as LBG, I'd assume if it ever shows back up it too will be drained of it's blue hue. I think it was an intentional play on some other interesting moves by british tea interests Then why does lego keep making more of them? Why do clone bros keep buying them in comical quantities? I don't even know how you'd be measuring this given that most legions in the new style are still on shelves and the few of these sets that have retired have been replaced by more sets with clones of the same legion, but in the one or two cases where you can start to measure increase post-retirement, I think Bricklink would disagree. The 187th set for instance, which doesn't even feature a canon legion, has definitely gone up. (This one specifically I've been watching because I have a sealed copy of the set I presumably purchased at some point and am trying to find when to sell).
