  1. I am not, oddly enough (though the hitmen are more speculatory). But it's not remotely related to this thread by any stretch of the imagination. I doubt that vader and the stormtrooper will be new figs. Feels like just extra effort for lego, since very few people would be moved to buy the set if Vader had a different torso. (A stormtrooper pauldron might be a little better, but also seems even more unlikely to me given that lego likes to skip out on cloths for minifigs whenever possible now) D2Cs tend to leak much later than other sets. I don't think we knew about R2 at this point. The Landspeeder leaked really early IIRC but that was the exception, not the rule. That's fair. My final thoughts on today's leaks, for now at least: $200 buildable Chewbacca: no $15 mechs: I guess I can kind of understand why these exist, but I don't think they'll do well. None of the characters chosen are particularly hard to get right now, and I think most kids generally want stuff that they've actually seen in a movie or show. $35 swamp speeder: this is a fighter tank type set, is my guess. Depending on which clone legion it has, I might get it, provided the ISP itself looks good. Can't imagine it won't though, the designs been nailed since 2010. $160 Yavin: Dream come true, but ironically I might not get it. another $160 set just isn't affordable, especially with the money and space Rivendell's going to take up.
  2. Just following lego's lead. he's the hero eurobricks deserves cardless gang rise up... ...and harass unpaid lego interns for an OT battle pack on myspace. EDIT: wait, i did get a card this year. Very convoluted story that involves potentially multiple hitmen/hitwomen and the revival of lego bionicle, though, so we're gonna skip it to avoid going just entirely off topic Ok, so quite a bit more recently than 2012. Still not all that frequent, though. I used to work at a Mathnasium, and the kids there generally just wanted as many minifigs as possible. (Once they found out I still bought legos they all spread the news on how to distract me from making them do their work). I think the real comparison is mechs to microfighters. The marvel mechs tend to get new figs, but at the same time I really doubt Vader or the Stormie will be new. MAAAAybe boba, but they could totally re-use the mandoverse fig.
  3. I did say suposedly, guys. I'm on board with the aqua colored ghosts. But 2 people liked it. Besides, Boba fett isn't gonna be as big of a draw for a set when two sub $15 sets are already on shelves with him.
  4. I don't see why we can't do both. (For legal reasons, this is a joke. I'm already on enough watchlists.) My thoughts exactly. When's the last time a battle pack had an exclusive mold, 2012's ARC trooper? To be fair, the 40th anniversary of ESB had the classic ESB D2Cs "A-wing" and "Mos Eisley Cantina"
  5. Don't get me wrong, I do too. One of my crowning lego fan moments is when I visited richboyJay's AT-M6 moc at some chicago brickfair and he told me I was the only guy to recognize rebel friend. Yup. It's not so much here, but on places like Instagram and Youtube there's a flood of teenage MandR fans who will ravage anyone who suggests we don't need at least 50% of sets to be clone battle packs. Supposedly it's due to issues with transparent ABS plastic's ultimate tensile strength. If it reaches a point of fracture anywhere close to how easily 2007 lime bionicle joints did, I'm glad we haven't had any yet. Fortunately for you, I am. I still vote we harass lego on Myspace for the surprise factor.
  6. I'm in, so long as it's got the new stormtrooper and scout trooper designs. What social media site are we going to bully random lego employees on? I vote Myspace. They'll never see it coming. Yeah, the whole Verd thing spun off from me talking about the kashyyk clones with white armor+green markings that may or may not be canon, and someone brought him up because I guess they thought I was talking about Verd's boys, and I just took his word for it. Man, this is the most entertained I've been in years. Totally agree, though. Same! Endor is my favorite OT planet, and I've only got... I'm at college right now but IIRC I have 9 endor rebels (none of the named ones), 4 new scouts, and 0 of the newest stormtrooper design.
  7. Man, you guys are really cracking me up today. Fun tip: One of the goons in a spider man homecoming set has a torso that works perfectly for Rebel Friend if you swap out the arms for red ones and replace the rest of the parts with fleet trooper parts. I have him sitting on my desk as I type this. Ok, @ArrowBricks, I looked through the last through pages. This is everything guessed before he said the three had been guessed that isn't one of the two we know or wasn't explicitly ruled out. Mon Cala cruiser, Nebulon B Frigate, system SSD, buildible ewok My heart says Mon Cala Cruiser by my wallet says Ewok.
  8. I'm not looking through the past 8 pages... nevermind yes I am.
  9. I think we're talking about a large-ish system set releasing in august, but my mind is still recovering from "$200 buildable chewbacca", so I might be wrong.
  10. Certified Lobster Moment. Yup. It is really annoying. Luckily the 2008 rebel fleet troopers are (or at least were) like $3 on bricklink. I think I have 24 of them, and something like 40 stormies, mainly from the 2015 battle pack. But it is annoying that it's hard to army build the arguable two main factions nowadays. I'd love an endor rebel battle pack. Agree about the name, or at least that people are just gonna call the franchise fallen order. I was always partial to naming the sequel "rising knight" or "rising son". maybe in 2024, if BD-1 did well? I never saw him on sale...
  11. Clegg Holdfast gang rise up. I doubt it, considering it'd be an entire new mold. My guess is it's the 327th, or maybe the 442nd. Exactly. Lego's been pumping out a TON of clones. We've had 3-4 "clone battle packs" in as many years. That's huge. The issue there is that since the disney acquisition there's simply been too much star wars to make an entire wave off a single era anymore (exempting new releases which obviously they'll give higher promotion to)
  12. He's trolling you, my guy. You're missing his point. Oop, you're right. $20 imperial battle pack with that speeder is almost a shoo-in given that they don't have to even say it's based on andor. Let's go through this logically. Not mos eisely or the homestead. Could potentially be a rebel ship, though he might have implied it isn't. I don't think he gave word on anything like the system SSD or a proper ion cannon/shield generator. What else is there?
  13. Thanks! Meh, I loved andor, but I think most people recognize that it wasn't for kids and there isn't much set material anyway. An 18+ prision diorama or haulcraft would be nice, but they're pipe dreams. It's a children's toy line, after all. I think you missed the point of his comment. Yup. Even though the BP bust allegedly did terribly. I've said this before, but lego's been doing great with clones recently. In the past 3 years or so, we've had 501st trooper x3, 501st jet trooper, airbourne trooper, 332nd trooper the entire bad batch, p1 clone commander, p1 clone trooper x2, p2 clone gunner, p2 cody, p2 212th trooper x3, 187th trooper x2, 187th commander, 501st heavy x2, 501st specialist, and 501st officer. That's excellent. Same. Which sucks, because I'm REALLY happy we're finally getting yavin, but Rivendell is my top priority.
  14. Are the mods sleeping? Agreed. And immediately after he comes out, we'll hear complaining about their P1 versions, or Fox, or Doom, or Fordo. The specificity of this one really got me.
  15. THANK YOU! I've been wanting a Yavin set since I saw the prototype in that visual dictionary when I was a kid in 2011 Unless it's another character, what's left that we haven't guessed?
  16. Those are still coming, they're 1HY sets. We got a leaked generic mandalorian from one of them the other day. Gotta be the 327th. I hope so at least. If lego makes a Verd figure I will officially submit the theory that their designers are trolling us. Watch the other unknown set be a UCS Geode.
  17. Rebel ship, rebel ship, rebel ship! They did start making some bricks out of plant oil, I guess they just never specified which "plants". Or even just the 327th, which is where I'd put my money. Lets em re-use the macrobinocs mold. Or Survivor . I just want a Cal minifig... It'd be a nice set, but I'd guess lego's afraid of anything big for TBOBF given that 2 people liked the show
  18. Did they confirm none of the sets were rebel ships, or just that there were other options than what we came up with (though I don't know anyone would have come up with Chewie) Ok, so it's probably not real then. Good to know. Our only hope for Rebels lies with the Ahsoka sets, though at least there we're almost guaranteed a Sabine. I must balance my love for Boba's design with my hatred of them implementing the mechs into SW sets.
  19. Did not know that. Well, the 442nd would be welcome troops, I guess. Yeah, I know, I know. Oversight on my part. They've been in some video games (BF2015 and Force Arena come to mind), so at least some people want them (me included), but that's fair.
  20. Solar Surveyor - The Librarian Blacktron Renegade Cruiser - Brickshipyard Ice Crystal Cruiser - TomSkippy
  21. Got to be this. Wonder if they'd make the 41st ones the white armor with green stripes variants, as lego's shown they're fine with non-canon clones. Might not be a bust, could be a full Chewie, but yeah, apparently we're getting a $200 Chewbacca. Anyone know if its the May D2C? That's fair, I suppose a lot of pilots don't make it there.
  22. Good work. Wasn't there a $130 set? Am I making that up? I mean, the Honor guard are probably going to show up, and that's something, right? Plus the celebration figs we haven't seen in a decade. Not as bad as, say, a new Falcon or something with nothing but costumes we had recently. The Swamp Speeder could have the 327th. Actually, given the fact that they just introduced Macrobinocs, I'd say Bly and the 327th aren't at all unlikely. But that's fair, not much minifigure potential from the wave. At least you've got that young jedi set that'll assumably have those three new jedi kids. Don't think there's much of a difference, is there? All the pilots are in the celebration scene, as is Dodanna. Can't think of anyone we only see in other Yavin scenes. I was talking about the already leaked sets, but that doesn't bode well for the Indy 5 wave :(
  23. Swamp speeder could also be good by, you know, being a good build, even if it includes the more common 41st troopers. (That said I am rooting for the 327th, it's been quite a while). Minifigs are not the only part of a set that matters. But it's not at all "pathetic" or "embarrassing" that lego hasn't put out a new Rex yet. He's only reached this insane level of demand in the last few years, and lego's 100% sitting on a $160+ gunship or something to drop him in because they know he alone could sell a large set at this point. They just did Cody last year and there's no question it increased AT-TE sales. Patience, young one. They know full well how badly you want Rex. Don't think we know yet. @FoggyFate, was Chewie one of your two OT sets, or is the $130 the other one of those? Same. Between Rivendell, No Way Home, and Indiana Jones, I'm gonna be bankrupted. Even with just Yavin and the Swamp speeder interesting me, that's almost $200. You've proven your credability.
  24. ...which cuts into that set's sales, because lots of kids (and Afols) just want it for the cheap boba. It'll be interesting to see how these play out. Again, the mechs suck, but really? It's just your opinion and all but I'm genuinely curious. Why don't you like the Yavin set? (Or swamp speeder for that matter?)
  25. Would be awesome, but given the rest of this wave I doubt it. Has to be.
