  1. If I'm not mistaken, that's literally just the mighty micros flash's head on the 2014 Flash figure with the dual molded red/yellow legs added on. In other words, it's literally a collection of existing parts. This is not real. It doesn't even try to photoshop a new print or anything like most fake leaks. Honestly not impressed with this guy. Even that 442nd trooper fake leaker had the decency to alter the colors of his. 1/10 should have been a fake leak of Klarion the Witch boy.
  2. 100% my thoughts. And unfortunately, while it's the best SW series by far on a story/character/writing level, it's definately not the best on a lego set/appropriate for kids level. Still, a Haulcraft with the remainder of the main cast (You'd have to put Luthen and Cassian in it, but you could realistically throw in Dedra, Vel, B2EMO, some imps, etc into it too. Not worried about Mon Mothma since she's going to be in a lot soon) would be nice. Doubt we get a U-wing pilot. The only thing we can say for sure is that it won't be Luke, but my guess is it'll be one of the more well-known/repeated guys like Biggs or Wedge, Dutch or another Y-wing pilot, and then a new one like Red Leader. Yup. Ezra's a little more of an unknown, but I think Thrawn is almost certain. (I mean, they can pretty much drop him into any imperial set, anyway. Though now that I think about it, we've had the 3 main TIEs, the AT-AT, AT-ST, and the Lambda recently, so unless there's an ISD coming I suppose it is more likely if he does show up it'll be in an Ahsoka, or possibly-though unlikely-rebels set. I guess he's shown around Sentinal Class craft often enough, and lego likes those for some reason...) Totally unrelated to this thread but I'm collecting suggestions for my annual community wishlist MOC wave in the "future star wars sets" thread, you want me to take a crack at this one? And if so, what piece count ballpark are you thinking?
  3. No wait, that's not what I meant either! I think lego definately would put a sought-after figure in a cheaper set (Off the top of my head, TCW S7 ahsoka is a great example, as is spidey's Ditko suit, Wolverine, and other ones I don't have the energy to go back and check through every theme based on an IP). Now when possible, they like to put them in a more expensive set first, then a cheaper one later (This was like a defined pattern with the "cool new troopers" in star wars, they did it for the Death Troopers, Praetorian Guards, Dark Troopers, etc), but it's more profitable to them to have a desirable figure in a set, cheap or expensive, to drive sales than it is for them to not produce the fig and make 3% of the money the fig goes for on bricklink. I mean, if you go off all P2 Rex, one of the most inflated and sought-after figs like this, lego made about $1,600 off him via their part of bricklink sales in the past 6 months. (And that's revenue, not profit) Now, that's a lot to you or me, but to lego, that's nothing. They could make Rex a $4 polybag you see in the aisle at the supermarket and they'd crush that in a day.
  4. The profit lego makes from that is statistically insignificant, especially when compared to the more direct profit they make from people buying a new set that contains a desirable figure. I honestly think if they are taking it into account, it's the other way, where they want to figure out how to shove high-value figs into sets. (Rex in the venator as a prime example, though I wouldn't be surprised if he shows up in something cheaper in 2024)
  5. Yeah, I doubt we'd ever get much TCW legacy stuff. There are just too many movies and shows now, the most we'll generally get is TCW figures/colors for well-known prequel vehicles. Something like the Xanadu Blood will realistically never happen. And now for seasons 4-7: Microfighters: Ahsoka Tano's ETA-2 starfighter ($9.99): Ahsoka Tano (S3-5 outfit) Droid Tri-fighter ($9.99): B1 battle droid. Umbaran starfighter vs Z-95 headhunter ($19.99): 501st pilot, Umbaran soldier Battle Packs: Mandalorian warriors ($14.99): 2x mauldalorian (1 male, 1 female), 2x death watch mandalorian (1 male, 1 female). Build is some of the city terrain with an explode feature. Republic Clone Troopers ($14.99): 4x P2 "shinies", with the holes in their helmets and a set of black visors, macros, and rangefinders, alongside a cloth kama and pauldron to make one a commander. Build is a BARC in standard GAR colors. (Smaller than 2020 BARC, but with a sidecar) Duel: Maul returns ($19.99): Hallway in Hondo's base with Maul, Obi-Wan Kenobi, and Savage Opress. (Side note: There aren't many 1v1 duels in the latter half of the show. I was gonna do ahsoka V ventress from the trial arc but I realized I needed Obi-Wan in a set) Gregor's Last Stand ($39.99): segment of landing bay with explosive crates (and explode features), as well as a buildible loadlifter. Comes with Gregor, R2-D2, QT-KT, 2x b1, and 2x b2. Z-95 headhunter ($49.99): Headhunter with clone pilot, Commander Wolffe, and 2x wolfpack troopers, alongside a buildible droidika. HMP Gunship ($59.99): HMP droid gunship with Ahsoka, Saw Guerrera, Steela Guerrera, and 2x super battle droids. Umbaran Starfighter and clone barracks ($89.99): Umbaran Starfighter and a small build for the clone barracks (bunks, crates, etc), as well as a buildible Vixus. Comes with Fives, Hardcase, Jesse, Kix, Rex, Dogma, and 2x umbaran soldiers. Republic Cruiser ($129.99): Republic Counselor-class cruiser with 2x clone officers (no armor), Thorn, 2x shock trooper, Padme Amidala, Anakin Skywalker, 2x Munns, and 2x commando droids. UCS: UCS BARC Speeder and AT-RT($199.99): P2 "Shiny" (Arm printing), ARF trooper (arm printing, new helmet mold) And as a reminder, I'll be starting the annual community wishlist MOC wave in about a month (maybe a little later depending on what the May the Fourth contest here is about this year), so if anyone has any sets they want to see made, let me know! This is the template I'm planning on using for the overall wave layout: 2 microfighters 1 microfighter duel pack 2 battle packs 1 200-ish pc "duel" set in the style of the starkiller base or mustafar duels 1 "semi-battle pack", or a 300-400ish pc set with 4-6 figs 4-5 standard system sets ranging from 200ish to 1500ish pieces 2 quote sets ranging from 500ish to 1000ish pieces 1 retail polybag set, like a small vehicle or something 2 GWP style sets: a small 40-ish pc polybag and a 100-200ish pc set. Something like the Lars Kitchen or Endor diorama set. Seriously guys, any suggestions for these, just list em out!
  6. Even worse: So did the batmobile before it, the 2019 one with him and Joker. That said, a $45 set with 2 figs, much less one based on a movie with an abundance of notable heroes and villains, is absurd, and hopefully lego realizes that. Possible, but unlikely.
  7. I don't know if you can even say Andor had a main villain, but I don't think Syril is even if you argue it does have a main villain. That said, I think Thrawn is a shoe-in for 2024 in some form.
  8. As @Goofster says, they're targeting non-AFOL adults. People who wouldn't otherwise buy lego. It's expanding their market. I think it was a good move to get adults in general into lego, but I think they've gotten too far with all the buildable objects, and my guess is they'll correct course soon.
  9. This is getting out of hand, now there are 3 of them! This is 100% it. Indiana Jones is an unknown in terms of how well it'll sell with kids, so focusing on the stuff that's most popular, the OT, is the best move financially. I think you're spot on. We definately don't seem to have any real evidence a second wave is coming, but we can't rule it out entirely, especially if these do well. I think you're right. It really seems like the prices on the sets were just swapped around, not meant to be increases. Hopefully anyone who bought them at the original prices gets them refunded.
  10. It would be nice, and I can't imagine it's that much more expensive to put them in sets. The E-wing is interesting, but it notably doesn't seem to have an astromech slot. That doesn't necessarily mean it isn't the set, as of course, we literally just saw a $100 ship 2-pack with a random astromech thrown in, but it would surprise me a little.
  11. the fact that they let them show the image is still something that makes me wonder if we will see the set someday. It's just such a weird choice. (And before @BrickBob Studpants sends a snarky comment ending in , I'm not saying the temple is coming or that this is solid evidence towards that, just that it makes me wonder.) Target finally fixed it's price, so my lost tomb is (Hopefully) on the way. (I don't see my secondary address on Target's little address box thing, even though I've saved it as part of the address like 4 times, so I'm a little concerned it's just going to get sent to my university mail center and then get lost.)
  12. This is almost exactly my thoughts. If the franchise is going down, I'll snag the legacy sets I want, but I'm not wanting to buy anything based on most of the newer stuff, which saves me some money. The overall state is a complicated situation for me. I want the buildible figures to do well because I want bionicle to return, but at the same time this is NOT the route the superheroes theme should be taking. The objects aren't my cup of tea, but I view them similarly to the star wars helmets as just "sure, I might not like them, but AFOLS do, and we still get a solid number of normal sets". Though of course, we aren't getting a solid number of normal sets this year compared to previous ones. I think one buildible object and a helmet or two a year are fine, so long as we get a solid number of sets for the infinity saga or "comic-based" sets alongside them.
  13. Couldn't have said it better myself. There's just no reason for them to bring him back. The inquisitor in the trailer is almost certainly just a different guy who happens to have a similar helmet. True, though that doesn't bother me as much. Better to have them available cheap than to have boots but they cost $20 a fig on bricklink. Also, they look more like a standard blue in the trailer to me, and luckily, blue/white boots are readily available on bricklink (A guy's got 500 of em for a dollar each. If I was at all confident in getting a NR battle pack, I'd buy some now.) In an effort to get back on topic, I don't think phantom 2 will be in the ghost, even if it is possible. I also agree that those other figures might be the ones flanking Hera in that image.
  14. If got 2 battle packs a year like we used too, a NR fleet troopers pack would be a shoe-in for 2024. As is, I'm not sure we'll get them at all. Yeah, but like... why would they bring him back? This is almost certainly just a different dude with a similar helmet. Not to mention that minor changes to the face/montrals for budget reasons is different from just... changing the species.
  15. It's just a bad screenshot. The people there said he looks good. Also, in the image, we see glowing red eyes, the more bluish shade of skin, and blackish hair. I'm happy it's a more legends-esque thrawn and excited to get an eventual figure of him. ....from who/what? It's certainly possible.
  16. I mean... maybe? If so, I'm not buying them anymore. I still can't believe that PPP rumor. a 35% price increase for the same number of figs (with less new prints, mind you) and LESS pieces? Just a year after the price was already increased 25%? I just don't get it. Just so we're all clear, if it is all true, that's an 80% price hike from 2020 to 2023. I know inflation's bad, but it's not that bad. No, the eighth brother is dead, that's a different guy in the trailer. Probably fairly high. If it doesn't show up in the Ghost, we'll likely see it soon given that lego actually seems to be making sets for Ahsoka.
  17. Yup. More of the new cowl, the more I like it.... but not for Keaton. He doesn't even have white eyes in the movie!
  18. Thank you! I was very happy with how the lightning trail turned out for Flash. Thanks! Thank you! If/when I do come back to this, I'm remembering the Justice Buster, it's a good idea. Thank you! Glad the dioramas are being liked, I was worried about how they'd be received. Sorry to kill off Flash, but I knew I wanted the endgame of the film to be him traveling back, and I wanted some permanent consequences. Things definately go south pretty badly in the final fight. I have more written out, but as a summary: Nightwing (Who was in a tiny set I ended up cutting from the lineup) is killed by Darkseid in that final fight, which causes Batman to allow Barbatos to take control of his own body, and Red Hood and Artemis are killed right as Flash travels back in time. Oh, Lex Luthor dies earlier too, and Darkseid's lieutenants are killed off throughout the movie. Maybe a tad dark, but nothing compared to some of the other Darkseid-centric movies (or in Snyder's case, potential movies) I've seen. But I wanted something that would stick, and it was this or a different thing that would kill off Superman, which is a cliche at this point.
  19. Neither are most other hat-wearing minifigs. I'm not saying it's evidence in favor of DoD sets, I'm just saying that the new hat mold wasn't their only option.
  20. Excellent list @ArrowBricks, I could easily see us getting almost all of those sets. My one super minor nitpick is that we had a christmas outfit for Mando in 2021, so I'm not sure we'd see one again so soon. Maybe a Christmas Ahsoka or Obi-wan. Edit: I totally blanked and left off my Clone Wars (seasons 1-3) wave: Microfighters: Anakin's Delta-7 starfighter ($9.99): Anakin Skywalker (clone wars armor). R2-D2 dome printed on the BB-8 head. Magnaguard Starfighter ($9.99): Magnaguard Malevolence VS Venator Cruiser ($9.99): B1 Commander, Obi-Wan Kenobi (clone wars armor) Battle Packs: 91st squadron clone troopers ($14.99): 3x 91st troopers, 1x ARF trooper. Build is an AT-RT Commando Droids ($14.99): 3x commando droids (new, accurate grey/orange coloration), 1x commando droid captain. Build is a commando droid speeder. Duel: Versus Grievous ($19.99): Republic frigate bridge with Grievous and Obi-Wan Kenobi. Sets: Plo Koon's Starfighter ($29.99): Plo Koon's Delta-7 with Plo Koon, Ahsoka Tano, and a republic astromech. Kamino Defense ($39.99): Kamino platforms and catwalk with explode features. Comes with Echo, Fives, 99, 1x b1 battle droid, and 2x buildible Aqua Droids. AAT ambush ($54.99): AAT (Larger than 2020 model) and a bit of terrain with an explode feature. Comes with Yoda, Jek, Thire, Rys, and 2x tank driver B1s. Cad Bane's Starfighter ($69.99): The Xanadu Blood with Cad Bane, TODO-360, Aurra Sing, 2x senate commandos, and a Senate Commando Captain. Republic Shuttle ($99.99): Republic Nu-Class shuttle with Anakin Skywalker, 2x Clone Pilot, Captain Rex (P1), Ahsoka Tano, R2-D2, and 2x clone trooper (p1). UCS: UCS Anakin's Delta-7 ($199.99): Anakin Skywalker (arm printing, dual-molded legs, clone wars armor) and R2-D2. Quote sets: Sacrifice ($69.99): Rishi outpost control room with Heavy, 3x b1 battle droid, and 2x commando droid. Quote is "Do we take prisoners?" -B1 battle droid... "I don't" -Heavy. The Zillo Beast awakens ($89.99): Large diorama of the Zillo beast emerging from the pit on Malastare with debris around out. Comes with Anakin Skywalker, Mace Windu, Ponds, and 2x clone trooper. Quote is "Where's your starfighter?" - Mace Windu.... "That thing ate it" - Anakin Skywalker.
  21. Lego gets to determine what is and isn't legal at the end of the day. They've used that style before, and will again. I don't believe this overly stresses the parts, but even when it does (I believe a recent example was the 2022 doctor strange set with the tentacle guy), if lego puts it in a set, it's "legal" for them. Huh. As a kid, me and all my friends had 3-4 kids magazines. Generally they'd be free ones though, maybe that's the difference. No, we aren't. I was just guessing based on the set purportedly including two NR fighters in some leaks (though those leaks apparently had inaccurate figures), and something about the cockpit just gives me those vibes. There's no confirmation.
  22. Even excluding the weird comment by Helena, I still agree about the more recent trailer. The tone feels weird, the song doesn't fit, etc. I did like the original trailer quite a bit, although the end always felt weird to me. The music seems to cut off weirdly in the title reveal, and the last bit is funny, but really strange that they all shoot at the wall. Just have them shoot at least closer to the end of the table they duck below. Ugh. Hopefully they lower the price to normal soon. I'm trying to not spend much on lego this year, and I've got a $50 target gift card. I can't see them giving Indy brown hair for DoD sets. I think more likely we'd just have gotten the existing fedora piece.
  23. Probably the third one that's actually an inquisitor reskin or whatever, but Shin and Baylon are supposed to be the main antagonists of the series. They definately don't seem incompetent based on the trailer. Also, the dark jedi differentiation is important. Speficially, Baylon is supposed to be , which is thematically very different from an inquisitor. Shin is Baylon's apprentice, which is also a whole different thing. And given the endgame we know is coming, I'd be surprised if they all died. Probably the inquisitor dude, but I doubt both Shin and Baylon are killed off this season. Aside from the two of them not being inquisitors (and not just in name, as I said above), we don't know that they'll die this season, and I think keeping Thrawn in the shadows is good for this season. He needs to be built up as a threat, and the more you use someone like Thrawn, the less effective they'll be seen as if they keep losing to the main characters. Plus, it's not exactly like Thrawn is gonna hand-to-hand fight Ahsoka. In an attempt to get back on topic, I once again am asking for the magazines to show up in America, and have no idea why they don't. Even putting aside the fact that we're missing out on the figures at cheaper prices, you'd think the magazine would do well here, no?
  24. 1. Totally agree, like 100%. I heard someone once say that to effectivly write a man like Thrawn, you have to be able to think like he does, and Zahn's definately shown he can do that. The Thrawn trilogy is by far the best "sequel trilogy" we've ever had, and I don't just mean the sequel films. Mandoverse, anything else in legends, Zahn's original thrawn trilogy beats it all. 2. Unfortunately, it pretty much has too, as the timelines are matching up here. Though that heavily implies Thrawn's story will be an adaption of heir to the empire, to an extent that if they were to focus more on Gideon than Thrawn as the Thanos of the mandalorian saga, I could definately see it working in such a manner that this happens around/in between/"offscreen" within the thrawn trilogy. We almost definately won't, unfortunately. It kinda looks like Shin steals a NR starfighter at some point in the trailer, so maybe that's the scene it's based on? I could see episode 1's ending being their attack on the new republic convoy. YES! This was my biggest gripe with these sets, that we were missing the primary antagonists. I am very glad we have them. I think 2 makes sense given the figures. Shin is piloting a starfighter at some point, and it almost looks to me like a commandeered new republic one. I could definately see another dogfight set. The other option is the convoy ship, but I doubt it, as the NR figure selection sounds more like the standard starfighter pilot/astromech combo than bridge crew or troopers, and you'd think if they were doing the convoy ship we'd have some standard NR troopers for Baylon to kill. More like Mara Jade and Joruus C'Baoth if we're comparing them to other SW characters. Definately could be, given we also see Baylon having a new hallway scene on what is assumably that same ship, but the figure selection would still seem a little odd. If it is that large NR ship, you'd expect a trooper or two.
  25. Eh, the "iT's CaLlEd CaPiTaLiSm" line was pretty annoying. Not film-breaking, but it is aggravating when they shove a random line like that into a film, especially when the film is otherwise good (which I hope is the case here.) That stupid line midway through about capitalism, which the original commenter was saying implied Helena, and potentially the film's writers, had socialist leanings. Not really relevant to the set discussion, but I get why he's annoyed. I'm still mad that the tomb is $80 at target. All of the reviews are warning people "You can get it for half the price anywhere else, DO NOT BUY THIS", but it's been quite a few hours, and no change. Unfortunately, I think it's possible that Target just is charging $80 for some reason.
