  1. News moves fast these days. I saw the leaked picture of the Charger last night, and one day later there are 4+ pages of discussion and it's now available for pre-order. The leaked picture looked like a promisingly large scale, and the official pictures have delivered with extra goodies like a deployable wheelie bar and an 11x15 frame. The only thing I don't like is the pin holes and flat sides which hurt the bodywork. The above comparison picture with the Mustang really highlights the differences between Technic and Creator building styles. Technic models will have a lot more realistic and cool functions like the suspension, steering, engine, wheelie bar, etc. On the other hand, Creator models tend to have smoother bodywork and more detail. I'm not sure which one comes off better in this case.
  2. @johnnym Your latest 8081 mod is looking really good, especially with the new Batmobile tires. I can see them being used a lot in the future on SUV MOC's in this scale.
  3. A Lego Technic Dodge Charger would be really nice. The subtly curved bodywork is difficult to model though, and I don't know how good it would look at the expected price point. On another note, April is another non-standard release date, continuing to blur the line between 1H and 2H waves.
  4. Although the exterior is a little more detailed, 42108 definitely lacks functionality compared to 8053. 8053 had a distributive transmission AND room for motorization. It was also in a larger scale for the same number of parts. I also wonder how strong the boom on 42108 is with so few beams going lengthwise.
  5. I've noticed an interesting trend so far that all of the largest licensed car sets have been similar to MOCs built by Sheepo. 2016 -- 42056 Porsche 911 GT3 by Lego compared to Porsche 911 Cabriolet by Sheepo 2018 -- 42083 Bugatti Chiron compared to Bugatti Veyron 16.4 2019 -- 42110 Land Rover Defender (new gen) compared to Land Rover Defender 110 2020 -- ? A red Mustang or BMW i8 would put 42115 inline with this trend
  6. Thanks for the kind comments! Yes, it's for the contest. @johnnym I hope the following pictures help explain the suspension. It's pretty simple, there are two 5L or 6L suspension arms parallel to each u-joint to locate the axle, and then two soft springs. The articulation is pretty good at the wheels. Made a lot of progress on the bodywork, it's almost done now .
  7. Hello everyone, this is my take on a manual Extreme Cruiser mod. It's still a work in progress, but the chassis is done and I have ideas for the bodywork. It's loosely inspired by the recent Jeep Gladiator pickup, hence the V6, live axles with AWD, short box, and upright windshield. I first thought of having 4 doors, but that didn't really fit the scale without a wheelbase extension. Going to work on styling the front end next.
  8. It is clear that Milan designed this set, there are multiple similarities to 42069: Front winch with same ratchet design Rear door lock operated by spare wheel/sprocket Extra opening storage compartments on top/side All-wheel drive with at least 2 differentials Suspension with both hard and soft shocks Large, dedicated fender panels 2000+ pieces with no motors or electronics On the other hand, there are plenty of differences, like that lovely gearbox....
  9. Very nice model! The GT-R is one of my favourite cars. I especially like how you got the shaping and details for the grille and rear diffuser.
  10. Nice RC mod @schraubedrin. 8081 was my first good sized Technic set and it's still one of my favourites. I've modded it at least 3 times already and have plans for yet another version.
