  1. I think a more grounded season is just what the theme needs, especially storywise. It would allow for some character development for the entire team but Jay and Kai most of all, having lost the love of his life and sister respectively, and it could possibly also allow for a somewhat smoother transition from Kirby Morrow to whoever will now be voicing Cole.
  2. Sounds like a neat idea but dinosaurs definitely won't happen in 2022 as Jurassic World is coming back strong with a fair amount of sets based on the new movie.
  3. All the August sets (bar the Sakaarbuster) were still nowhere to be found this morning so I decided to pay the LEGO Store a visit earlier today. I can definitely say I was very surprised to see they too only had the Sakaarbuster! I asked an employee wether they had the sets in the back, he even checked a shipment that just came in, but I was told they still hadn't gotten them despite the fact they should've arrived days ago. The staff found it to be an unacceptable situation as many customers had asked about the sets over the past few days but there was, understandably, nothing they could do. I may be forgetting about a wave here but I don't recall ever seeing a release be this poorly handled in recent memory (at least in the Netherlands). No idea what's going on here.
  4. Something related to the Vengestone buyer could work?
  5. That's exactly the problem though, the new 2021 system focusses so much on play that display completely became an afterthought. The 2018-2020 sets on the other hand perfectly balanced the two.
  6. That's budget and revenue related though. Why would LEGO as a business invest in sets that don't sell well anyway?
  7. A hot take but one I can 100% agree with. Sounds a bit pessimistic but it feels like we're now all just along for the ride until LEGO has milked this cow dry and replaces it with another theme. I hope 2022 proves me wrong.
  8. Thanks for the heads up! Really wanted a few of those heads
  9. @Micmac that looks amazing! Would've definitely preferred something like that over most of the stuff we've gotten this year.
  10. Their upcoming introduction into the MCU was announced like a year ago though
  11. For me the 2018-2020 sets were pretty much exactly what I wanted from a LEGO Harry Potter reboot: a well thought out journey through the various films with sets that perfectly mixed play and display, resulting in fantastic products that appealed to children and adults alike. The 2021 wave then proceeded to do a complete 180 on this concept, dividing (for a lack of a better word) the theme into play and display sets instead of focussing on retaining the aforementioned "perfect mix of play and display". Besides the sheer amount of sets that have been released this year feeling a bit overkill the removal of this "perfect mix" resulted, at least for me personally, in an overwhelming amount of sets that just did not appeal to me due to me greatly disliking the new Hogwarts system and not having an interest in non-minifigure scale sets. While there are plenty of fantastic figures, creatures, stickers and prints to celebrate the only set I would actually call good is Hogsmeade, which is right up there with the 2018-2020 sets. Having said all this 2021 had a major focus on the 20th anniversary of Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone so it's hard to tell where the future of the theme lies. Is this the new path the theme will follow or will 2022 and beyond see a return to form? Regardless of what the designers have planned for the future of this theme I just hope that, a few years from now, I will look back at this year of Harry Potter sets as "the year the theme didn't really interest me" and not as "the beginning of the end".
  12. The Mercedes logo on the front of this new Mercedes-Benz Technic set is printed on a shield. It's not terribly accurate but considering Taskmasters actual shield is SDCC-exclusive this is probably the closest we'll ever get to a decent depiction of it that people will actually be able to afford.
  13. Torontolegolover is one of several accounts to have posted it.
  14. Not gonna lie that picture of the model writing their name on the acceptance letter really bothers me for some reason, why would you write on a LEGO piece like that? Definitely the best part of the set. If it had been sold seperately (maybe with a small-ish perch) I probably would've bought it. It's printed.
  15. Anything is possible but as far as we know this is it.
  16. Completely agree with this.
  17. I'll just say what I've been thinking for a while: throwing a few random objects together doesn't make for a good set. Hard and extremely easy pass.
  18. Gar Saxon - 6346792 Black Stormtrooper - 6357995 Female Stormtrooper - 6357994
  19. Seeing the same thing here. Aside from the Sakaarian Hulkbuster it's almost like the August sets (Shang-Chi included) just... don't exist? Very strange As for New Asgard potentially being a repurposed SDCC set: I kinda doubt it as SDCC sets have never introduced new molds before.
  20. They're all currently listed as out of stock but the black Stormtrooper, female Stormtrooper and Gar Saxon heads have been added to B&P.
  21. And lose the benefit of having Dominion reintroduce and hype up the Legacy characters? Doubt it. If there were JP sets planned for release with the Dominion wave those would've definitely been delayed too.
  22. Monica being in The Marvels is probably exactly why she was included here. No need to use budget on a new head and hairpiece when you've already made both using CMF budget a year before
  23. All licensed AC's come with a fair amount of reused figures though so unless we get X-Men sets next year (the likelyhood of which has been discussed plenty of times in the past) I highly doubt this will happen. Safest bet for another AC, assuming we're getting another one, would be the Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special.
