The thing about the stunt racer is that, if you are buying it as a toy and not a parts pack for MOC, it feels very inadequate. I would rather have the same functionality for $150, but with 500 more pieces. 300 just doesn't cut it.

Stunt racer seems as uninspiring as the last one. Just in a different color. I would have considered it were it red or orange. This is blue and sticker heavy.

another thing which confused me is if this is a construction machinery (like 42030, 42009) and which is why it's yellow in color, why is it holding what looks like log? That's something a machine in green would do, right?

Is it just me or the new Technic box design looks kind of bland?

Tracked Loader looks cool. I was waiting for pictures of the new Porsche though. Several City leaks, but I am sure kids aren't holding their breaths for that theme as much as we are for Technic.

I think we will probably need to wait a day or two till someone posts them here :D

Interesting: the GT racer will weigh 2.2 kgs, exactly as much as 42039. But half as heavy as the 42056. If the release is December, high time there was some news. I am starting to lose interest.

IMO AMG Technic would have been more desirable since another Porsche is still on the market.

I liked that helicopter but didn't want to buy it for full price. I've got Arocs, and the rare Arctic Truck among the older sets. 41999 was the dream! Among my to buy are Porsche, Mack, Chiron and the new Crane. 6x6 if I get it for 150

it should not go out of stock without a dip in price. it has been 299 + taxes since it was released in US.

Hope this won't be sticker heavy. And if it is, shouldn't be white.

Really happy I came across this post. I was confused between getting 42055 and 42056 for my birthday. I will now get the BWE and wait for the 42096! I joined the technic bandwagon pretty late so missed out of two really cool sets 42038 and 42039. Luckily I managed to get the arctic truck at a low price, but the LeMans is just way too expensive at 220+ now. Also I hate how the 42077 looks. I'll skip the Porsche 42056, get the BWE. Then get the new GT Race car. And down the line get the buggatti... sometime.

I'd say the Porsche. But I just cannot justify spending $299 on one set. I've thought a lot about it and BWE just doesn't do it for me. It would be a pain to carry around when moving. I wish there would be a sale on Porsche.... would readily buy it for 200. But since it has such a high demand, it probably won't have a sale

Thanks for the replies! I have 42043(currently building) , 42054, 42066, 42064(amazing set), 42076. I was craving for 42038 for very long, since I first saw it. I usually buy Technic sets only if they are on discount.. but this one time I made an exception and got it for near retail price... Nowadays it's 150 on eBay so, $100 is a decent price IMO. Love the color and the idea of the set. Do not like the 42069 at all. My birthday is coming up soon and I am to decide between 42055 and 42056 since both are retiring. Don't know what to do!

Thanks for the replies guys. Can't say I am less than confused after reading all the replies! I would like to mention a few things. 1. I feel $300 + tax is a lot of money. I usually average around $150 maximum for a set. I don't think the 42056 would go on sale. BWE is frequently for $200. So that's a big factor for me.(BWE : 1, Porsche: 0) 2. I am not in MOCs(At least as of now). (BWE : 1, Porsche: 1) 3. I don't really care for PF. I usually play with them once they are made, and that is it. (BWE : 1, Porsche: 2) 4. I like sets that look good on display. Which is why I have got 42064, 42066, 42043 and 42054 as I feel they are all gorgeous! Also got the very rare and cool set 42038 because it's so unique and good looking. BWE is good looking, but nowhere near Porsche. (BWE : 1, Porsche: 3) 5. I don't own a house. I move around renting. I already have way too many lego than would comfortably go in my car without disassembly. Not sure how fragile either model is but Porsche looks more solid. (BWE : 1, Porsche: 4) 6. I am making the Arocs right now. It is a very fun process. I am 10 hours into it and Section 1, 2, 3 done. I feel this is a perfect size for a large set... around 2500 parts. Maybe BWE would be too exhausting to make? Before posting this I was 80-20 in favour of Porsche. But all you guys have made me seriously consider Porsche and now its 70-30 in favor of Porsche!
