Marvel Superheroes 2019 - Rumours, Speculation & Discussion
Mountain Drew replied to Anonknee Muss's topic in LEGO Licensed
I have a feeling they’ll slightly update the minifig, perhaps by switching from dark blue to regular blue and changing the printing on the head, to make it slightly more accurate to the actual costume. -

You could also take 2012’s head and hairpiece and put it on Beetlejuice’s torso, add a flesh right hand and a medium lavender left hand, and put on some plain black legs, then you get a pretty decent black and white Two-Face, if you don’t mind the unorthodox stripe design. -

If these sets are unofficially based on Into The Spiderverse, then I just have one question. Spider Man Noir seems to have a prominent role in the movie, so why did they use Spiderman 2099 instead? I mean, I guess he’s a slightly better-known character, but still. Also, these sets are most likely meant to attract children, so they can’t really give them complicated builds. But I understand why people don’t like this wave, since its pretty much one giant Juniors wave. But at least the minifigs are excellent (My personal favorites are Spiderman, Carnage, and Spiderman 2099) And you guys gotta admit, even if you don’t really care for this wave, the Giant Venom Mech is pretty slick -

I kind of like this wave, especially the Carnage/Miles Morales set (I’m a sucker for sidebuilds) I think someone mentioned the set designs could have been taken from the cancelled Nexo Knights sets, and that is actually a good possibility, since Lego once used a cancelled Power Miners set and put it in the Atlantis theme. Plus, the designs for the sets are mechs, a giant spider mech, and a motorcycle, all things Nexo Knights could have used in the last wave, since the last wave was computer viruses or bugs or something. -

I wouldn’t rule that out. Heck, I’d even hope for it. -

So I’ll just go ahead and assume the “Batman Water Vehicle” that got leaked is the one with Aquaman and Ocean Master. I wonder if each set is going to include atleast one other member of the Justice League. I’m pretty sure the only ones that need updating are Superman and Hal Jordan, so they could be possible candidates for the other sets. I don’t know why people think theres only going to be 2 DC sets in this wave, since theres always been at least 3 per wave. The real question is, what will they show off at New York Comic Con this week? -

Well this is a nice surprise. I was hoping they’d maybe include one more minifig with $130 for 1000 pieces, but I generally like the set. Am I wrong, or is this set supposed to be based off the Vader Immortal VR? -

I guess we’re getting 5 Avengers 4 sets, one $30 Captain Marvel set, and 3 Spiderman Far From Home sets, on top of whatever they throw at us in the December wave. Yikes. This is going to be a very expensive year for Lego, lets just hope they’re all worth the money. P.S. that new Green Goblin fig @SpiderJazz was talking about has leaked, and it doesn’t look half bad, its just a shame that they didn’t use too many new characters in this wave, but maybe we’ll get a few more surprises at NYCC that’ll brighten our spirits. P.P.S. did anyone else watch the new trailer for Spiderman: Into The Spiderverse? It looks pretty good -

Theres a rumor going around that Chameleon is going to be a supporting villain in this movie (like Taserface), so there is some small possibility we could get him as a minifig. I don’t know though, unless they include extra head pieces to act as masks or something, since his entire gimmick is identity theft. -

I mean, that wouldn’t be the worst possible scenario. Its not ideal, but its not bad. I’m pretty sure MandR said that a mini TIE Advance is supposed to be included in this set, with a very similar design as the the in the UCS Death Star. I would honestly prefer a TIE Advance set on its own, but I guess I haven’t seen this one yet, so Ill keep an open mind. And if it turns out bad, I could MOC it I guess. Was there any other Star Wars leaks some of us may have missed? I haven’t been on this forum in a little while. -

All I hope for is that the castle build itself looks at least half decent. If it's $80 or more it probably will be. But right now the minifigs themselves are enough for me to buy the set. -

Google “lego leaks instagram” and you should be able to find it, unless it got taken down Btw for those who are disappointed that the new Doc Ock doesn’t have printed legs or duel molded boots, the piece with yellow boots already exists. https://www.bricklink.com/v2/catalog/catalogitem.page?P=970c00pb575&idColor=36#T=C&C=6 I personally love the fig, but the arms are small and useless. But at least we know the fig thats most likely going to be in the Juniors set. At least we already have a good Doc Ock arm design, and the pieces to make it aren’t really that hard to find. -

I wouldn’t mind getting either of those characters in a set, since we’ve never gotten a Baron Zemo, and the Crossbones from Civil War isn’t accurate to the movie. I would also like to see Cap in his classic, scaley suit. I would also like to bring to everyone’s attention that in Marvel Superheroes 2, during the story mode, theres a boss battle with Baron Zemo in a biplane, so that could be an option for a set. And if the Iron Man set is also comic based, I hope Lego desides to use more desirable characters like Kang the Conquerer, the Mandarin, comic based Black Panther, regular Ms. Marvel (not the stretchy arms), comic based Ant Man, etc. -

I saw the pic, its probably the best torso for Doc Ock, but I don't know about the head or legs, since it was just the torso that was leaked. I mean, I guess its cool we are getting entirely updated figs for this wave, but there is still a ton of characters they could have used. But everyone thought the Spiderman leaks were done, then we got Doc Ock, so there is still a possibility that we could get characters like Spiderman Noir, Mister Negative, Kingpin, Daredevil, Comic-style Mysterio, Agent Venom, a Rhino bigfig, Lizard, etc. -

I know people keep asking for a regular Gwen Stacy minifig, but has anyone considered that the Spider Gwen minifig has a duel sided head, with Gwen Stacy’s face on the other side? Like how they did Ghost in the Ant-man And The Wasp set -

You know, if the Iron Man and Captain America sets do turn out to be Avengers Assemble / Comics-based, then there is still a small chance of getting Daredevil as a minifig. As much as I would love it, I can’t really see Kingpin in this wave though, since I don’t think he’s ever really gone toe-to-toe with the Avengers in any comic. Maybe in a Spiderman set though. -

I'm not sure thats enough of a difference for me, I'd much rather prefer the last one. Hopefully he’s included in a cool set though, so I’d actually have some incentive to get him. I’m a bit dissapointed that the Daredevil / Kingpin / Lizard / Swamp Thing rumor is probably not true, since the other time any of those characters could be released in a set is Winter of next year. With Captain Marvel, Avengers 4, and Spiderman Far From Home all coming out next year, among other themes, Lego is going to be really booked up in 2019. -
Marvel Superheroes 2019 - Rumours, Speculation & Discussion
Mountain Drew replied to Anonknee Muss's topic in LEGO Licensed
Spiderman is pretty good, I'm so happy they finally decided to give us an updated version instead of the one they've been throwing at us since 2013 (5 years!?) Venom is good, since there's not much they really could do to update him, realistically speaking. Miles Morales is okay, I would've preferred the version we see in Into The Spiderverse, but Lego can't really do that so whatever. Carnage is pretty good, but I really don't understand why they didn't do arm printing, especially after they set the bar so high in the last one. Spiderman 2099 is probably my favorite minifig of this wave (that I've seen), but again I don't really understand why they didn't go with arm printing Sandman is excellent, I especially love the use of the piece from Nexo Knights as a base for him. Spider Gwen is good, but once again, where's the print on the arms? Its a bit weird to me that Lego would choose to use characters with such intricate suits, but not include certain parts of the suit. But I guess its the thought that counts. Vulture is meh, but I am glad they chose to use a more modern design. Hopefully they give him brick built wings, like Falcon in Infinity War. I much prefer the brick built wings than the regular wing mold, mostly because of how you can move them around instead of having big clunky wings you can't really do anything with. -

Well Deadpool's next cinematic appearance is supposed to be X-Force, and who knows when, or if, that will be in theaters, so its as good a time as any to give it a chance. Plus the FX Deadpool cartoon has been cancelled, so theres really nothing planned for the character for a while. And, I’d hate to go on a rant here, but it IS the parent’s responsibility to make sure their child is watching appropriate movies, not Lego’s. But it doesn’t even have to be an entire set for Deadpool, all I want is an updated fig so I don’t have to pay $40 for one on Bricklink Clearly Lego hasn’t forgotten about DP, since the last two Marvel Comic Con Minifigs have been some iteration of him (Deadpool Duck, Sheriff Deadpool) and Sheriff Deadpool even has an updated head, at this point Lego is just teasing us. -

I hope Lego gets a lot more creative with this wave, since they have a LOT to work with, even with just Spiderman characters. I would love Mr. Negative, Kingpin, Daredevil, Spiderman Noir, Spider Ham, Agent Venom, or even Tombstone to finally get a minifigure. I would also like to see that cancelled Deadpool-based set to finally get a chance on store shelves sometime in the near future. And with the X-Men characters finally returning to their rightful place next to the Avengers in the MCU sometime in the next year or so, its the perfect time to release this set. I wouldn’t blame Lego if they didn’t though, since the 76022 X-Men vs. The Sentinel was apparently the worst selling superhero set of 2014. But they did do a X-Men mighty micro set last year, so... maybe? -

Maybe its the villains that use the vehicles, like Kingpin driving that giant car he had in Marvel Superheroes 2, I could see that as a set, perhaps with the rumored Daredevil minifig -

I don't know if you guys noticed, it's kind of hard to see, but the 2099 Spiderman minifig has small scales like in Marvel Superheroes 2. The lighting of the pic is bad, but I'm pretty sure its only on the head and torso, not the arms or legs. The only things I would add to the fig is the red stripes on his arms, just to be a bit more accurate. And I'm pretty sure someone said that he'll have the cape thing and the claws from the game Also, has anyone considered the rumored Captain America and Iron Man sets will include different versions of both characters? like 2099 Iron Man and Old West Captain America. I mean, I'd buy an old west-themed Marvel set, as long as it has a saloon.
