  1. @dvogon it's really nicely built. I can tell you've done your homework. Not sure whether I agree with @Darth Bjorn or not. I understand where he's coming from, but it's such a small use of the cannon character, and the interaction feels right for his character. We're going to be taking liberties with Moff (Captain) Panaka in our storyline, so we can't really complain too much.
  2. @Reaper It's a really nice build. How are you lighting it? It seems like there's a single overhead flourescent bulb. Is that right? Maybe try having a secondary light to one side just to fill in some of the shading. Maybe even just a light bounce.
  3. @JOKADon't forget to put the word "Stormtroopers" in the title. I love the idea of the blood red river. I've never seen that before in Lego. It would be good to have an image with the whole build in if possible.
  4. @Reaper welcome to the Triumvirate!
  5. @Reaper Thanks! I've stopped applying stickers to my bricks in most cases. It makes them easier to re-use. However, in this case, the mirror sticker was really useful.
  6. As of May 2020, Fnab has reached 61xp. After passing 50xp, his second skill will be Explorer.
  7. *Your entry has earned 8 XP (x2 for limited challenge)* Nanth'ri! Now there's a terrible place to end up. The system sits at the junction of the Nanth'ri Route and the Trax Tube. And considering it is less than a parsec away from Daalang, we couldn't just leave it in the hands of pirates now could we? I started my work there by building on the information ascertained from the criminal Jol Dixun by Commander Storr's investigation. Dixun had been associated with the Mordageen mercenaries used by the pirates to guard their holdings around their base in Mott City on Nanth'ri Prime. Their leader was one Ramara Till. She was a greasy old character, but just the type I could do business with. I explained to her that the Triumvirate assault on Mott City was a matter of inevitability, and that the pirates would be all but annihilated. But I also suggested that any parties who helped us win the battle would be spared, and might even be allowed to stay planetside; benefiting from the renewed civilisation that we would bring. Well, she saw sense in that, but wasn't about to make a deal without guarantees. I left her with my personal collection of antique firearms to act as deposit for the duration of the invasion (not, I'm afraid to say, the first or last time that I have pawned them). In return she gave her best slave as hostage; a Twilek called Lu'vel. I had no conceit that this would prevent her from betraying us if they saw a better opportunity, but I was confident that it would be enough to convince them that we meant business. Her people were guarding the Mott City spaceport. They agreed to disable all docked ships at the critical hour, and prevent the pirates from accessing the port. This would help us nullify any aerial power they might have, and give our bombers free reign to attack Mott City.
  8. Wow, that's a lot of rules for you to keep an eye on! Rest assured, the Oceans 11 will be there again this year, this time with a change of kit.
  9. Cool! Nice trees.
  10. Weren't they also used as padding in engagement? Not just comfort, but potentially saving lives.
  11. Quick work! Thanks @goatman461
  12. Thanks! The circular end section was really yellowed, so a lot of the photography is tweaked to conceal that. Thanks!
  13. Did realise until I re-read your post that everything here is SNOT. A really neat build. There's a touch of Kirby design here, like Thor Ragnarok.
  14. @MKJoshA Thanks! I tried my best to recreate him, but I didn't have all the parts exactly right.
  15. I registered it as "commerce - other". Happy to be reimbursed.
  16. It's a fantastic praesidium. Are you planning on making Orellana an Aplynician? You could build some fantastic colonial churches in that style...
  17. Agreed! @goatman461 maybe brick-built animals could be a future episode?
  18. Ahhh, that might be part of the problem. Pretty sure at least some of this is Scots Gaelic.
  19. That is some really pretty architecture!
  20. Were we allowed to do animals? There was a bunch of stuff I thought of trying, but I thought they had to be sentient aliens.
  21. Commander Bannon sounds like he needs a few lessons in Diplomacy from Fnab Bibbly. Didn't even bring a Darth Vader bust as a present! On the other hand, this is a really good deal for the Triumvirate, and Fnab has to be a little bit envious that he wasn't the one who made it happen. Well played, boss!
  22. @Bregir Thanks! I enjoy the writing side of things, so I usually come up with a story as I'm doing the build. In this case, the story came first!
  23. @Captain Dee Thanks!
  24. I'll be glad when Oktoberfest is over and my usual patrons come back, that's fer sure. Bunch of layabouts, you lot are. Now, as I was sayin', come 562 by our reckoning, Bogdan'd done left the Orumans again. Only a couple of years later, someone matching 'is description pops up in the Donova River Lands, callin' 'isself "Father Bear" an leading a mercenary company called the Bear Guard. Now, they started out working for the local Boyars and Margraves, but these fellas were canny. They played the different factions off against one another; takin' a bigger slice of the pie for every new master they served. Pretty soon "Father Bear" owned a large chunk of the River Lands 'isself. When the local rulers finally cottoned-on to what was happening, they weren't 'appy. Decided to club together and recruit a warband of Kashkuri Cossacks to dislodge the upstart. 'Course, what they didn't know was that "Father Bear" had fought alongside Cossacks 'isself, and knew exactly 'ow they would act. On the Plains of Donovaskoye, ee took 'em apart peice by piece. Gave the survivors a simple choice; swear loyalty to him, or die. And with two armies on 'is side, he took the fight back against the blokes who'd paid to have him attacked. Offered them the same deal. The first one to actually refuse was one Voivode Boris of Brascov. Ee were twenty-odd years older than our Bogdan, and thought ee were smarter, too. As the lord of a hilltop fortress, ee fortified 'imself in, and prepared to wait it out. An ee might'a done ok, too; if ee'd gotten the harvest in *before* our Bogdan and 'is armies arrived. With almost no food, and no wood for fuel, 'is folks got weaker and weaker. Ee may've sent messengers to call a truce, I dunno. But what I do know, is that no-one was ever sent back. In the end, three days shy of Midwinter, Boris of Brascov and his remaining men attempted to charge through their enemies and escape. Not a single man escaped with 'is life. And very quickly, the rulers of the Donova River Lands toppled like dominoes. You were either with "Father Bear", or you were a dead man walking. An what did the Tsar and his armies do during this time? They din't budge an inch, so worried were they by the Kingdom of the Great Raider. They sent messengers instead, saying that the River Lands were expected to oppose the upstart in any way possible. I ask you, would you follow a leader like that? Think careful, boys; not every ruler is a good one.
  25. Thanks for this. I think we all appreciate the hard work done by the AMRCA committee. Perhaps this system will make it easier for AMRCAs to function smoothly.
