  1. If they release some kind of gimmicky D2C right away, that would be a bad sign. I wouldn’t want it to follow in the footsteps of HP, with too many gimmicks and not nearly enough solid sets. A large scale iconic location would be ideal for a D2C, especially for a licensed theme with so many iconic castles and such. Some great options would be Barad-Dûr, Minas Tirith, or Helm’s Deep, but I would be very happy with locations like Caras Caladhon or Edoras as well, especially if they were done in a similar style to MBS sets with lots of figures in a huge scale playset that doubles as a display piece. Realistically though, it’ll be something really iconic and probably somewhat gimmicky like a map of Middle-Earth mosaic or brick built creature or character statue Over the years I’ve made lists of possible minifigs and sets for a LOTR reboot since the heartbreak of losing the theme. There is so much untapped opportunity for LOTR. Just imagine battle packs from every possible faction. Noldorin Warriors and Númenorean Soldiers from the prologue, Gondorian Soldiers, Rohirrim, Mordor Orcs, Haradrim, Oathbreakers, Easterlings, Uruk-hai, Helm’s Deep Lorien Elves, Dunlendings, Moria Orcs, Corsairs of Umbar, there’s so much potential for Battle Packs alone! Not to mention literally everything else. It’s a gold mine that lego would be incompetent not to mine, but they haven’t exactly made the best decisions lately
  2. I feel like LOTR makes more sense in Licensed than in Historic
  3. I don’t like Brickheadz. But I will buy several of each of these to support the theme and send the message that we want the theme to return for real
  4. Bruh. I can’t even begin to express my feelings right now. Let this be the hour, when we draw swords together!
  5. Is that what that’s from? Dang it’s almost perfect, nice catch. Sorry if you mentioned it before and I missed it
  6. @krimimimi That version of Vernon Dursley doesn’t exist…in the set he has that sweater reused from the City sets, not the brown suit
  7. Still not convinced he wasn’t trolling
  8. I’d prefer the Leaky Cauldron over B&B. But I do hope for both eventually
  9. Idk. They know we want it, and they clearly love to troll us. Could just be full of it
  10. Incompetence at its finest if you ask me
  11. I still think this set choice is just so weird. I suppose they’re just trying to come up with things to fill in until they’re ready to give us Gringotts. I do think the set looks phenomenal. But the price is disgusting. The raised tracks are a waste of parts and budget. I don’t really care that the scale is off because it’s a display piece first and foremost. I think the printed ticket is really cool, and I love the figures, although the exclusion of the Epilogue Weasleys is really dumb. The quote plaques are kind of stupid too. Not super excited by this, I’m pretty happy with the 2018 Hogwarts Express. But it does look great for what it is and I’m excited for the figures. I’ll probably pick this up eventually but it certainly won’t be a priority
  12. It’s the general lack of effort seen the AC that gives me this viewpoint. Neville’s torso in particular is really frustrating. I definitely am happier with the calendar now that I know they didn’t just pull a Sirius variant out of thin air. As for the Horntail, it’s good but it still isn’t what we should have gotten. It’s a display piece like Fawkes and Hedwig. We need a play scale version like the Triwizard Challenge set but actually good this time. This one has no leg articulation and no wing articulation and very little head articulation. And its features are kind of exaggerated to fit the style of Hedwig and Fawkes.
  13. I always thought he was wearing his Azkaban robes in the mugshot so I never thought about it as an option!
  14. They had an amazing formula from 2018-2020, then they switched it all up and now designs are worse and worse. A good set here and there is not good enough. Ever since last year the theme has gone way down in quality. The Hogwarts builds are almost laughably bad. This calendar is kind of a disaster. Neville having a completely inaccurate torso, the most obscure Sirius variant they could come up with, the crappy Moments Snape which was a downgrade already, a massively downgraded Myrtle, another version of almost the exact same Tonks figure we got in another set…shall I go on?
  15. So the outfit Sirius is wearing is his outfit from his mugshot! I take back what I said about that being a stupid made up variant. I think it’s actually kind of clever to use that variant of him.
  16. Because the current lego HP team is incompetent
  17. What the hell is that Sirius figure
  18. The AT-TE and Justifier look really good! Can’t wait to get these
  19. AC sounds decent. I’m disappointed in the inaccurate Neville torso. Armchair Slughorn is really cool! It’s a shame we don’t get the full minifig pajama version with it. Sirius in a brown sweater sounds like a waste. I hate it when they include non-canon prints for figures in these. But who knows, maybe once we see it we will recognize it as something from the movies idk. Would have been really nice to include the version with the maroon coat. And the mystery torso remains a mystery, and clearly isn’t part of this AC
  20. Well the AC sounds super lame. They could have at least included a P1 Shiny instead of a Commander. They’re making it easier to mass Commanders than regular clones. Oh well. Cody and the clone gunner both look great! My only real gripe with Cody is the same thing everyone else is saying: I don’t like the visor, it’s way too big and just looks weird. At least they recolored it this time. Maybe it will come with a spare we can use for our old TCW Cody minfigs
  21. Isn’t there supposed to be a dwarf spider droid in the AT-TE set?
  22. I doubt they will reveal it so soon, we probably have to wait a while still to see that one
  23. First of all, cool name and pfp. Second, I agree 100%. I know the Landspeeder has become a joke in the lego community, and it is kinda funny how many they have released within such a short amount of time. But this UCS is fantastic! I’ve always wanted one and it looks great at this scale. Solid fun build of an iconic vehicle that gets way too much hate. Side note, the most recent minifig scale version was also really good
  24. Yeah that torso really looks like something a Weasley would wear but I just can’t find any reference photos with any matches. Stranger Things did cross my mind as well
