  1. I was more thinking plate than tiles, the way the build is, it could be more useful. And anyway, when 75218 released, i just modded a little my 9493 and then Jerac released his own. So i ended with the later :) But to go back on topic, a lot of muted color can work for an used look. Sand blue, old grey light or dark, pearl gray, even some sand green ...
  2. I really like sand blue too. At a moment i even planned to order some 1x1 plates for accent, then i saw the price Silver or chrome may even looks cheap in comparaison depending of the part..
  3. Yes, come on! Even if it is a little heavy to move Better late than never
  4. Looks like a nice tool, any version available for ipad? I saw something with a similar name on the apple store but it looks quite different..
  5. Most of the parts are pretty common, except the canopy and the carbonite bricks, you shouldn’t have to much trouble. But as i was trying to check for the parts of the build in some of my favorites bricklink shops, i can see the price has increased. Not that much but it would need 16 orders on bricklink for about 410€ without postage. (Without canopy, carbonite and stand, all in Belgium) I would recommend first check all the price between brick n pieces and bricklink. Order all what you can on brick n pieces when its cheaper or about the same price as the postage in Belgium is only 1,80 €. Just remember delays are 5 to 7 weeks. Good luck on your hunt!
  6. Encountered exactly the same problem. I ended using parts in black from a marvel vilain minifig i don’t care about :) Now i am still just waiting for two rubber parts from lego brick and pieces to end the back of the engines. Hopefully at the end of the month..
  7. I built the cone with the cheese slopes in mind, so yes it angle more to the center. Its not dramatic, but i just prefer it to be a little larger than smaller, that’s just a matter of taste :) I don’t think I have the best solution yet, better results are yet to come with those curved slopes i guess.
  8. I tryed that solution before but i really like those metallic silver slope effect. And as i built it there’s no more room for 1x2 curved slope, there’s something like a 2/3 of stud left behind the slopes. If I hadn’t the metallic silver slope I would have used those however, there’s a solution around those curved parts i am pretty sure. edit : @Hold0511 I think the cone now have to be shortened en widened to match the curved slope indeed. Jerac posted some pictures of the cone rebuilt shorter, it could maybe work with the curved slopes.
  9. Second engine is done but before i can take proper pictures, I’ll need to wait for a bnp order with the two rubber bands than hold the skis at the back As soon as they come, i’ll do some side/top shots. Thanks for the good words !
  10. Thanks again, This had actually lead me to make the blades using those parts instead of the radar dish. I am pretty happy with the result, even if there’s still holes in my engine :) I still have to make the second one so here’s a comparaison picture with the original design. Now I stop flooding this thread :p
  11. That version of the cone is obviously better gap wise than what I achieved but I prefer the curve of the original one. And if i use this one, i still have a big gap around the flexible tube i can’t see how to cover. Where I am now, as I have lot of room inside, at least i can rework the inside of the engine to get the vertical stuff and the blades you can see on some artworks. I’ll have to make another bricklink order for pieces, but i am going to wait until i am sure about how many parts i need to order.. Thanks anyway for the input !
  12. Put a maximum price on this item in your wanted list and activate notifications for this one. I see it as been sold as low as 0,57€ (!) in the last month sales.. I think you just have to be quick!
  13. My solution on 7studs wide doesn’t really work, final result seems too small : But i definitely gonna work the way of ScottishDave. Even if the clip are not fully hold, they can be stuck with the brackets and the dish with some rework. Update : Who said it was an easy task to mod Jerac’s design? I still think he nailed the more accurate and gapless front of the engine for now. There’s something to look about ScottishDave’s input but i am too short in needed pieces. For now I’ll stay with this version, where i finally kept the flexible tube used in the original design, but moved more inside : Anyway, I am waiting for other people versions on this one :)
  14. That’s great ! I’ll give it a try for sure. I managed to make the curve flush with the 7stud diameter but i don’t like the result as it looks too small in diameter. Now i have to look if i have all the parts for this but i don’t think so :/
  15. The clips are mount on the same part as the skis on the back, so yes its flexible and can be put more inward, but i just did it quickly. Since i took the picture, i did offset the curved part its resting on 1/2 stud to the center, its yet fitting better. I’ll keep working on it next week and post update.
  16. In the meanwhile, i am still thinking about getting my own solution for the front engine. Actually, Jerac may have the best solution, the clip rotated fully until they touch the dish to make a nice circle. But somehow the antistuds of the clips are annoying me. My test of tonight may lead me somewhere, i keep faith :) @Hold0511 I am still jealous about your silver RC, but it did order those metallic silver slope before i did saw it ;)
  17. Allright ! I wouldn’t paint my bricks either ( looks a lot of work ) but i really admire the result, that’s really clean.
  18. Wow, really like it! Didn’t even knew there was that many part available in metallic gray. Beautiful!
  19. If you click on the « 2638 sets it appears in », you can click on « summary » and then « sort by color »
  20. Try this link : https://www.bricklink.com/catalogItemIn.asp?P=3068b&in=S&colorID=152&ov=Y in the page with the 2638 sets, you can choose to show by color, you didn’t look carefully :)
  21. The pattern in dbg is really cool!
  22. Did it, didn’t realise these could be pushed more inward! Thanks! Thanks too, I used some sand green, dark tan, mettalic gray and sand blue accents. It can’t be seen on that picture but i like it better this way than all gray.
  23. It’s done! Amazing build, the intrication of the bricks is sometimes something i haven’t seen pushed this far. The build was really pleasant, i enjoyed it a lot more than the x-wing. There’s no assembly that crumble when you try to add a brick. (Maybe just some parts annoying near the canopy) Here’s mine built. i didn’t modded it yet, just some part substitutions with parts i had in stock or for my color taste. I might try to rework those clip around the engine, that’s the only thing that bothers me (a little), but I can’t think of a better solution right now.. Thank you Jerac for that stellar design!
  24. I had the same kind of trouble, the doors seems to always take a little angle, they never stay right or they just pop off. Like if the anti stud was not a perfect circle, however pieces are new. i just removed them so, it’s not a big deal.
  25. Work, wife, kid, even the cat! Lot of interruptions too, but i reached a step around 1200 and the hull is taking shape nicely!
