  1. Superb collection Anio! Actually, that doesn’t really do it justice, but I’m kind of lost for suitable words. Your Venator & Executor are both beautiful ; it’s great to see them in the same photo as the UCS Falcon as I can now visualise how big they are! Have you modified any of the standard UCS sets?
  2. Hi, I've just checked mine (bought directly from Lego) and it has 24 bags. It should also have 4 instruction manuals, and weigh about 4,007 grams including the box!! It's good fun to build, and is really impressive. However, the top wing will flex and it's also rather interesting to dis-assemble! I hope that this helps. Cheers, Robin
  3. I won a MISB UCS 10144 Sandcrawler on Ebay last night for the (almost) bargain price of £200 inc postage. I know they’re not massively popular with the community here, but I think that it’s kind of cute! Anyway, it’s one more for my collection of UCS sets. I'm planning to buy the Executor next, although I’ve got to save for a bit.....
  4. Superb work Anio (as usual!). I was really impressed by Lego’s new version, but this is something else The detailing is amazing, especially the rear section of the engines. Have you got any ideas for your next project; could I suggest a re-make of 10143 Death Star II?
  5. Excellent, so we have lots of Episode IV sets for 2012 The 9490 Droid Escape is a definite purchase for me, as I missed the original one. It’s a shame they aren’t including a Dewback & a Stormtrooper or two, but I guess you can’t have it all! I live in hope that Lego will do a new Cloud City one day (or even re-issue the original one!); surely they must know that it would be a guaranteed hit?
  6. In the original cinema version he's visible at 22 mins 54 seconds; it's the scene immediately after the one with Darth in his meditation chamber, where he throttles Admiral Oswald. He's lurking around an X-wing!
  7. As a relative newbie, please accept my apologies in advance if this is a stupid suggestion, but this thread has got me thinking: Is there any merit in setting up a new thread for members to add links to Ebay where there is potentially a good deal on offer as a ‘Buy it Now’? I know other (vintage) SW forums seem to frown on auction ‘outing’, so I guess it would be best to avoid these. However, I occasionally spot SW Lego bargains advertised as ‘Buy it Now’ that I don’t want, or already have, and it would be good if I could help a fellow Eurobrick member with their collecting! Perhaps we could limit it to discontinued, or UCS, sets? Just a thought. Mods please feel free to remove this if needed. Cheers, Robin
  8. I must admit that I always had a soft spot for the old 6212. It wasn’t designed to be a ‘serious’ UCS type set and was clearly aimed towards younger Lego fans. That doesn’t mean to say that I’m not looking forward to a new version if it’s anything like the version shown in fallenangel1309’s link! Ah well, I guess that we’ll have to wait & see
  9. That's an amazing collection Cavegod! I can't imagine how long it took for you to design & build them all, I don't think that I would ever have the ability or patience. Do you work with a 'trial and error' approach or use software? I tried using Lego's Digital Designer, but it was way too frustrating! Did your sandcrawler survive the journey home? I'm looking forward to seeing the interior of it!
  10. The new sets are now available in the UK from Lego.com. The price for Echo base is £91.99, so I think that I’ll be waiting for that one to go on sale! The other prices are in line with the pre-discounted ones from Amazon etc. Tesco Direct seem to have the best deals at the moment (slightly less than the retail, plus a further 20% off).
  11. Tesco Direct have the new sets available. There's currently 20% off all of them, and the starting prices are a little lower than Woolies! The sort option looks a little messed up, if you sort High - Low it doesn't work very well....so just keep scrolling! The Podracer set is £79.97, but after the 20% discount it should be £63.98, total bargain!
  12. Sounds great, I'd pay a lot of money for one! Ah well, perhaps it will happen one day.....although I realise that I'm in the minority about this
  13. Very nice work StoutFiles. I really like your version of FX-7, he looks really cute! I’ve been debating a small MOC of the medical bay myself, although I’ve had a problem trying to source the clear-trans blue 2 x 4 x 6 cylinders via Ebay. I tried using a couple of the 2 x 4 x 4 but they look rubbish, as Luke doesn’t fit in that well. Have you considered illuminating the bacta tank? (the blue looks really nice with Technic LEDS!)
  14. Wow, that’s an amazing collection gratefulnat although I couldn’t have positioned the UCS Snowspeeder like that though, as it’s far too valuable!! I really want a UCS Star Destroyer and a Death Star II one day, they both look superb
  15. Thanks for the photos MightyMegs The Death Star Trooper looks great, finally with a correctly-shaped helmet! This will be worth buying just for him I’m not too sure about the shape of the new cockpit window though, but I guess that's being a bit too picky! A definite improvement on the earlier versions, especially the colours.
  16. Great review, thanks Shame about the set, although I’ll probably still buy one eventually for the minifigures. I’m really disappointed with this; they could have done so much more with it. It’s actually worse than Home One (7754) which was totally random!
  17. Just ordered mi(7965) and was in stock (UK) and will be here saturday. I've just checked and it's not available in my UK either (mine's the one to the North of France and to the East of Ireland! ) although we barely get broadband in the South-West so perhaps it's still en-route via a very slow phone line! Ah well, perhaps one day we might see them.......
  18. I have one, and it’s my pride & joy However, I paid a lot for it (via Ebay, new, in January this year) although it’s genuinely worth every penny. I bought it for me, rather than as an investment, and if Lego re-issued it I’d buy another. It’s amazing to build, but it does take up a fair amount of space so bear that in mind! I can see why this set is getting so expensive, but I’d be happy to see the price settle down to a more sensible level.
  19. Now that is impressive! I hadn’t realised that it was so large - excellent work cavegod! I sold my UCS Sandcrawler last year and have regretted it; I know that it’s not perfect but I did have a soft spot for that lump of brown & orange plastic. Have you made any progress on the inside?
  20. Well, if it’s €100 then it should be about £85 which doesn’t seem too bad (at least for an exclusive!) Perhaps I might get this after all, as I missed out on 7666 when it was still a fairly sensible price. One thing seems likely though; the price of 7749 should take a nose dive, as it’s no longer unique on the TaunTaun front!
  21. Argos are selling 8089 - Hoth Wampa Cave for £24.99 each, although the stock seems to be fairly limited, so you might need to be quick. Total bargain, even cheaper than Amazon!
  22. I just bought 2 x 8089 Hoth Wampa caves (one for me, one for my nephew!); they're currently on sale in Argos (UK) at £24.99 each, which is the cheapest I've seen them.
  23. That part may be helpful too : http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItem.asp?P=87408 (Anio) My Technic (8043) Excavator uses these to power the tracks & they work really well, but I’m not totally sure that it would cope with the load it would be under? There’s one on either side, which allows it to skid steer, and each one contains a single 4565452 and 4514557. I guess that you could power both tracks in each pair using a single bracket & a long rod? Pages 25-27 of instruction book 1 might help, good luck!
  24. Sounds interesting, I'm really looking forward to seeing it! Is it another vehicle or ship? All of your MOCs are amazing (especially the Executor & Slave 1), and it's great that you share your designs
  25. I collected vintage Star Wars figures for a couple of years and, during that time, rapidly developed an aversion to anything less than white. Stormtroopers & Biker Scouts had a nasty habit of turning various shades of cream or yellow, and I really struggled to find mint ones. I was a bit disappointed to find that the shuttle was not pure-white, but perhaps I’m a bit strange to worry about such things! I put mine on display for a couple of days and then returned it to its box for safe keeping; it was the hardest set that I’ve ever dis-assembled....!
