  1. Thanks for the photos GRogall! Jabba's Palace & the Skiff are starting to grow on me, which probably means that I'll buy them at some point. I really like the new AT-ST driver & Lobot although he looks a bit too serious...perhaps it's the stress of running Cloud City!
  2. Hi, I did it as follows: i) Find the inventory for the set (link here) ii) Open Excel & save the file (I find it doesn't crash when you then do the next steps!) iii) Highlight the parts & images on the inventory page (exclude everything above the sticker image!) I found that it's best to start at the bottom (yellow technic part 32555) and work upwards iv) Right click on the screen & select 'Copy' v) Then switch to Excel, right click on the sheet & select 'Paste' and wait for a bit....it might show 'Not Responding', but it will eventually transfer the data! vi) Each item will take up 4 lines, & you'll need to re-format the total of each part required, as Excel doesn't recognise the Bricklink 'numbers' as numbers!! I found it simplest just to over-write the number...! However, the links will still work, which I found useful. I've got a nice formatted copy of the parts list - if anyone wants a copy please PM me with your email address. Cheers, Robin
  3. I totally agree with that sentiment! I sold both of mine on Ebay as I couldn't cope with owning him (both made £5+ if I remember correctly, which made the sets even better value!!) That's quite an impressive collection of Geonosians Mutley - I'm tempted to get a few Beautiful collection Legoman
  4. I'm not a fan of the Clone Wars (I guess it's my age!) but I regret not buying 7752 when it was avaialable for a decent price - Count Dooku's face put me off at the time Perhaps Lego will make a 'PT' version of it one day.
  5. Everything is up to your usual (excellent) standard Anio, apart from the feet! I'm not sure about them at all, but perhaps they'll grow on me. I really like the detailing on the rear of the body, it's amongst the best that I've seen for an AT-AT Please put me down for a copy of the instructions when they're ready!
  6. The following sellers (both UK) really deserve a mention: (5 smile rating!) gizmocom: Great prices, lots of parts available, everything has arrived in perfect condition & often the next day! Keeper's bricks: Again, great prices, very fast delivery and everything in perfect condition, excellent customer service, a really genuine guy.
  7. This is beautiful! The details are excellent and very accurate; I especially like the design of the window. My only critism (and it's very minor!) is the use of a few 'old' greys....the death star was all shiny & new
  8. I weighed my falcon a while ago & it was 6,298g (that included the plastic bags that the parts are stored in!)...well, it seemed like a fun idea at the time I assume the figure quoted by bricklink was the gross (inc, box etc).
  9. I agree with Brickdoctor, I'm expecting it to go on sale on 4th May (10-20% off) and it will then be discontinued. Undoubtedly, the price will go up a bit, but I really don't think that it will ever reach the UCS Falcon for two reasons: i) it's been available since 2008 and must have sold in large volumes and ii) it doesn't have the 'prestige factor' that other high-value UCS sets do.
  10. Sign me up please, not 100% sure what yet, but it's likely to include LEDs
  11. Sorry, I didn't put that very well! I found the only way I could build it was to have all of the parts spread out on the floor, and that resulted in me spending 20+ hours on my knees, which wasn't the most comfortable thing to do (even spread over 5-6 sessions!). I also pulled something rather painful in my back last year & still have a twinge or two from it....old age I guess, well mid-thirties anyway!
  12. Just to prove that there are some bargains about if you look around: (link here). I'm amazed how little this sold for; it looks like there's a few bits missing (the feet, for example!), but still a bargain
  13. It's starting to look good, keep going! It will suddenly get really large when you build the front mandibles... Having seen this I'm tempted to build mine again, although the 20 hour build time is a little off-putting!
  14. Thanks for the photos, very nice work! I'm intrigued as to how you did this; is it anything like my attempt below? (obviously with the 2x3 plates & bricks replaced with trans-clear!). I used a 1 x 2 clear brick - the LED is slightly off-centre but it seems to work. Did you remove the dark-grey technic beams & pins as they don't look like they do much in terms of strength? Also, did you use trans-clear or trans-light blue? Cheers, Robin
  15. That's quite a collection you've amassed there! I totally agree with Zzz, don't be in too much of a hurry to buy everything. It's easily done (and I did the same with vintage SW and ended up with a hobby room full of stuff that I didn't really want!). Take you're time, have a look around and decide what you really want. Having said that I'd recommend: 8038 (Battle of Endor) and, if you really want to commit financial suicide, 4501 (Mos Eisley) and 10179 (UCS Falcon) - this is the centrepiece of my collection and if I only owned one set it would be this!
  16. Thanks for the photos. I'm going to buy Lobot as soon as he's available; I can't wait to change my Avatar. The new version is really cute The only other set that I'll get is Jabba's Palace. Although the price does seem a bit ridiculous, it's been growing on me...I just hope Amazon UK will have it for a decent price.
  17. Thanks for the new photos Mutley. I'm really looking forward to next month; I've already booked the 4th off to make sure that I can get my hands on one. And, speaking of hands, I'm not too bothered about the colour difference as I'm sure that Lego have done this for a good reason. Hopefully, it's because they've been mass produced! I just hope that everyone will be able to get one; the current price on Ebay is just wrong
  18. You're very brave displaying it at that angle I assume that you don't have too many earthquakes in Germany; I don't think you're on the edge of a tectonic plate, although it was a long time ago that I studied Geography!! In all seriousness, this looks really nice, well done!
  19. Well said, Solscudd007...on both counts! I think that the $75 (and, I assume, £50?) minimum spend is reasonable; it's not like you've got to buy a SSD to buy one, and Lego will probably include free shipping. It's not like this is unexpected, and I'm genuinely amazed that anyone wants to moan about the prospect of getting a really cute, shiny, free minifigure!
  20. Hi, this looks really nice, well done! Please can you include some photos showing how you connected the LEDs to the engine section. I've been wanting to modify mine for a while (since I saw Marshall_Banana's version) and I'd like to go via the 'purist' Lego route as well!
  21. Well said Mutley! Lego are one of the best companies I've ever dealt with, and their Customer Services are superb. I can't see how anyone would feel that they are being 'unfair' in any way. My nearest Lego store is 100+ miles away so I use their website, or via the old-fashioned way by using a telephone to order from them! I'm sure that most parents would be very willing to pick up the phone on behalf of their child if required (and pay via a card) so I don't think that argument really stands. In most promo events they also offer free postage, and for larger sets this can be a considerable saving. Admittedly, there was a problem with last year; as far as I understand it they had two 'reservoirs' of promo figures (one for the US & one for Europe) and due to the error with the online checkouts they sold out too quickly in Europe, but had plenty of surplus in the US. It must be very difficult for them to guage the demand for these figures, so I can understand why there was a problem. However, I'm confident that they will do their upmost to prevent the same thing from happening again. I can't see why anyone would critise Lego for giving away free Lego; especially shiny Lego!
  22. Hi, looking good There's a tutorial available if you don't know how to link photos (link here)
  23. I've just seen the ones listed on Ebay, £75 each and 5 of the 6 available are already sold!! I've got to get one of these; in my opinion they're on a par with the limited edition C-3PO! Shiny Lego minifigures - life doesn't get much better
  24. Congratulations! This looks really impressive: I hope that you're pleased with the final result. I wasn't sure about the mix of 'old' and 'new' greys when you started it, but they work really well. Are you going to modify the interior, as well as adding LEDs to it?
  25. I'm torn between the new UCS R2 (lots of parts, UCS set) and 7879 Hoth Echo Base (rubbish set, but with 2-1B & R-3PO). Actually, thinking about it R-3PO would look really nice with TC-14
