Good question, and I think that it's anyone's guess! However, I think that this will depend on how similar any replacement will be to 10144. If it's a similar size (1,800 - 2,200 parts) then I'd expect the price to nose-dive, but if it's more 'UCS' orientated, then it's possbile that it would have less of an impact as they wouldn't be in direct 'competition' with each other. The old version is nice (I've owned two!) but it's starting to look a little out-dated. I've been expecting Lego to release a new one for a couple of years & Marshal's could be the catalyst. I'd love them to make a RC 5,000 part version  but I guess that it will be nearer 3,000. Although it's reached the 'Review' stage I doubt that it will be in production for a while yet (assuming it gets approval) as it's under the 'Next Review' stage (link here) so you should have a while yet. In future it's probably best to use the SW Q&A thread for similar questions (link here) rather than starting a new one

Nice photos BrickieB, thanks! This looks nicer than the earlier photos, and it will be on my shopping list as soon as there's a 25% discount. I really like the Rancor, Lego could have done a lot worse, he's cute without being too cartoony! It seems strange that the set hasn't got a solid floor....it doesn't make much sense to me? Cheers, Robin

Hi BrickieB, thanks for providing these photos, really appreciated!! I'm not normally one for buying sets purely for the minifigures but I might make an exception; Han & the pilot are cracking & I'm really looking forward to getting them. The A-wing is quite nice, as others have said it looks very similar to 7754, but it has far too many stickers for me. Cheers, Robin

Wasn't Greedo killed by Han in Episode IV...or is there another GL remake where he survives?!! If it's blue, my guess would either be Weequay or Yak Face.

Post your general LEGO Star Wars questions here

Only the moderators can move posts; I'm sure that one of them will do this when they have time. The most commonly used/useful threads are 'pinned' to the top of the forum screen (inc the SW Q&A!) so it's probably best to have a look there first - this also includes an index (link here) Cheers, Robin -

The model is identical for each 'edition'. The first version was limited to 10,000; it included a COA & had a rebel insignia on the front (bottom-left) of the box. Later copies of the set didn't have this. It's probably best to add any similar questions to the Star Wars Q & A thread (link here) rather than creating a new topic each time Cheers, Robin -

Thanks, it's great to meet someone with a similar obsession with Cloud City!! I've got a load of screenshots that I took from the DVD of the landing platform, walls, duelling corridor & walkway if their any help? If you want them please PM me and I'll forward them onto you. I can also send you the original photo of the carbonite chamber, which you're welcome to print if you want....it's 5.4mb so it should be fine at larger sizes! I really like the new corridor & the improvements; my only suggestions would be to use a combination of tiles & grills for the floor & to add some more detail to the tower/instruments that Luke holds onto shortly after he has his hand lopped off; if you look at the film there's some really nice details. Keep up the good work, you've almost inspired me to have another bash at this!

I've just ordered 7962 - Anakin's & Sebulba's Podracers from Amazon UK for £39.99, that's 50% off! (link here) I ordered one last year, when it was about £47, but ended up letting my sister-in-law have it for my nephew...I'm determined to build it this time!

[MOC] Mos Espa Podrace - Layout from Fanwelt Cologne 2012
Lobot replied to Sir von Lego's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Cracking stuff Sir von Lego, this is a truly superior MOC in both quality & size!!  I can't begin to imagine how many hours you must have spent building this, or the size of the Bricklink orders! Are you going to make it any bigger, or just add more detail? -
Thanks for the photos Kez! Personally I think that this is a cracking set, it's an up-sized battle pack with some decent extras that don't look like they've been added as an after-thought (you know who you are, 8083 & 8084 *ahem*!) I'll be buying several of these to expand my Hoth collection....it will be interesting to see what the RRP will be. I just need to get 7879 now; I'm hoping that it will be on sale soon at Lego S @ H as I'm having real issues with the full RRP!

This is a very nice attempt darththeling, and an improvement on the earlier version, well done! I tried to do a 'modular' version of Cloud City myself a while ago, but had to admit defeat due to my complete lack of talent. I knew how I wanted it to look, but just couldn't build it!! The only section that I was almost happy with was the Carbonite Chamber, which I illuminated with a load of LEDs (link here). In terms of improvements I'd suggest a larger landing pad, plus the iconic Falcon, and to expand on the duelling walkway. Stoutfiles did a version of Cloud City in LDD a while ago, and his 'backdrop' section of this was really (most!) impressive (link here); perhaps you could take some inspiration from this? Also, the main entrance in Lego's version is really nice....I modified mine by covering it with grills to add some detail (link here) Using tiles for the platform & landing pad also looked good. Cheers, Robin

FS/T 10 x 30211 LOTR Uruk Hai with ballista (MISB) polybags
Lobot replied to Lobot's topic in Buy, Sell, Trade and Finds
Hi, sorry but they're sold. Cheers, Robin -
I used Lego's 'Pick a Brick' as a guide for prices and, on several occasions, found that they were cheaper than Bricklink. Also, Lego only charge £3.95 for postage regardless of the size of the order (link here) - enter the part number in 'Design ID' If you use Excel I found that using a combination of conditional formatting and '=MIN(cell range)' was a very useful as a way of comparing a range of sellers!
-
If my memory serves me, Google translator doesn't actually translate....it works by identifying a few key words and then matches the 'pattern' to a list of possible 'standard' sentences. I used it once to translate French into English and the results were best described as interesting!! Anyway, a new Hoth set, so life can't get much better (unless it's of a similar standard to the current 7879)

I've just found these on Amazon UK, delivery 4-7 weeks: Rancor Pit @ £59.99: (link here) Headhunter @ £39.99: (link here) A-wing @ £24.99 (link here) AT-RT @ £19.99 (link here)

LOTR bargains @ tesco direct: Urak-Hai Army (9471) for £17.94 - 40% off!! (link here) Ork Forge (9476) for £23.84 - 40% off!! (link here)
-
Thanks for the link It's reassuring that I won't be spending much next year, most of the sets are just 'meh' as far as I'm concerned. The only one I'll get is the Rancor Pit which should fit nicely with the (overpriced) Palace. I really don't like the new design of the boxes though; it looks like a cartoon hybrid between LOTR & SW :sceptic: I never thought I'd say it but please bring back Darth Maul, all is forgiven!

Excellent work Sir von Lego I've been looking forward to seeing this all finished, it must have cost you a fortune to make!! Do you have any idea of how many bricks you've used for the entire project?
