I would hazzard a guess that LEGO want the sets to be in the shops before they start selling online so they can make more of a profit from the shops buying in bulk with satisfaction that they'll sell plenty of the sets.

I think it's heaps better than the old one in that it is 4 studs wide and the older 5 studs wide was a pain in the a** to work with. But for some reason, I really like the old castle walls.

That Cafe Corner and Green Grocer seems so out of place next to that rubbish (in comparison) police station. That really annoys me, LEGO obviously designed those sets for AFOL's, yet they are marketed with a three year old playing with it. As if that kid could build those highly detailed sets!
