Exclusive Train 10194 Emerald Night (Exclusive 2009)
Captain Zuloo replied to der seb's topic in LEGO Train Tech
I'm going to agree with that - there is nothing stopping us running RC trains on 9V tracks now, they are the exact same width. Although I'm still stumped as to what flexible track is all about. But I guess we'll find out soon enough eh?- 559 replies

Exclusive Train 10194 Emerald Night (Exclusive 2009)
Captain Zuloo replied to der seb's topic in LEGO Train Tech
I'm not sure I follow. How could any sort of connecter tracks make it possible for a 9V train to operate on RC tracks? Or have I got the wrong idea completely?- 559 replies

BrickFair Pirates theme - It's a super-trippy experience!
Captain Zuloo replied to ToddWebb's topic in LEGO Pirates
I think Adam would make a very good Pirate Theme Leader for the LEGO Pirate Line at BrickFair 2009. He has dedicated many hours as a volunteer on Classic-Pirates.com, so has a brilliant understanding of all the details on the new Pirate line, knows who all the good Pirate MOCers around are and from what I can gather, he absolutely loves LEGO Pirates. He also has very good manners, and a great way of communicating with people. All in all, I think Adam would be a brilliant selection for the 2009 BrickFair Pirate Theme Leader! (I know this post probably doesn't make any impact on the final decision, but it's good to congratulate people on all their hard work sometimes (; ) -
Mate, EB is the best forum for discussing all things to do with LEGO! Welcome to the forum my friend, enjoy your time here!

BrickFair Pirates theme - It's a super-trippy experience!
Captain Zuloo replied to ToddWebb's topic in LEGO Pirates
This thread doesn't seem to be getting the attention that it deserves, so I have scheduled it for tomorrow's news on Classic-Pirates.com. -
Woah! Don't dis' the Walrus Admin group! That's the coolest there is. (No idea how you convinced the others to create that one for you Sinner, but you did and it's awesome!!!) There are only a small number of Pirate ranks. And none of us care about our post count, we value the quality of our posts more than the amount we are posting. So yeah, I guess the Pirate ranks are given to us instead. But really, what's the biggie about ranks anyway? The amount of posts one makes, makes no impact on their respect earned throughout the forums. The only difference between Pirate ranks and normal ranks is that to gain higher ranks in the Pirate system we need to learn and pass on our skills to earn a promotion, and that promotion is determined by a higher party, not a post count.

Exclusive Train 10194 Emerald Night (Exclusive 2009)
Captain Zuloo replied to der seb's topic in LEGO Train Tech
Yeah, all LEGO track is (in theory) compatible with all other LEGO track. So I'm very curious as to all this talk of "flexible track". The whole compatability thing could well get thrown out with that. Anyway, We'll find out soon enough.- 559 replies

The Shipyard Ranking system is in place to reward the brilliant Classic-Pirates.com volunteers for all their hard work. There is already a team of people with access to the VIP subforum, The Shipyard, but if you watch the Pirate forum closely, ther might sometimes be positiongs for web, video and image editors...

On my IE 7 it also doesn't work. Although I think it did before I upgraded. Strange...

Exclusive Train 10194 Emerald Night (Exclusive 2009)
Captain Zuloo replied to der seb's topic in LEGO Train Tech
I think powereing that light might be a little ambitious. It would be to obvious. Possibly a PF motor in the boiler, or at least a space for one. With that in mind, there doesn't really appear to be any wheels that could be powered. But to tell the truth, I really don'tcare. I'll just be buying another 9V motor on eBay and putting it on the tender. And how will the back wheel stay on the tracks?- 559 replies

Exclusive Train 10194 Emerald Night (Exclusive 2009)
Captain Zuloo replied to der seb's topic in LEGO Train Tech
From using facts about previous trains and other steam MOCs, I'm pretty sure this train will run on standard "L Gauge" track. There are 3 rotating wheel bodies on the loco, the front wheels, the driving wheels, and the back wheel. With all of these bogies being able to individually turn, this train should be able to negotiate the sharp standard "L Gauge" radius, and suprisingly, without much overhang. I can't wait to get my hands on this little bugger - 15th of April on S@H Australia.- 559 replies

So it has (Captain Zuloo is just a little goofy). I like this train, and I'm utterly suprised it hasn't recieved more attention. This is a brilliant piece of work. I especially like the pipe-y things about half way down the loco. Well done!

Exclusive Train 10194 Emerald Night (Exclusive 2009)
Captain Zuloo replied to der seb's topic in LEGO Train Tech
Awesome, thanks for the price Sinner. I was expecting a AUD 200 + price tag to be associated with this set. But this actually looks buyable. And all this talk of RC points etc. are making Zuloo VERY happy. Although I'll never give up on 9V, there is no reason why RC crossings, signals and points couldn't be incorporated into a 9V layout. And if the signals were battery powered, you could put them anywhere on your layout. Quite frankly, with all the news in this topic, I'm over the moon!!!- 559 replies

Exclusive Train 10194 Emerald Night (Exclusive 2009)
Captain Zuloo replied to der seb's topic in LEGO Train Tech
I'm not fussed about rails, I'm a 9v man myself, so I would only be replacing a motor with a 9v one. So I would actually prefer it to come without a motor and track so the price isn't as high as it otherwise would be. And another thing that still makes me sceptical about this whole thing, is if this set is real, why has LEGO not stepped in and asked that the pictures be removed?- 559 replies

The disney deal, implications to the pirate theme?
Captain Zuloo replied to n'henk pas's topic in LEGO Pirates
Last I heard was that POTC 4 was going to be a real departure from the first trilogy. From what I understand, none of the characters other than Jack Sparrow will be a part of the new series, and Jack Sparrow will be played by none other than...Zac Efron! :pir-skull: AHHHHHHHHHH!!! I hope to God that I'm wrong! But honestly, I enjoyed the POTC films, but if it does take such a turn for the worse with such terrible casting, I don't think I could stomach POTC sets. Besides, we finaly have more Pirate sets, so why should we want POTC sets? Surely original stories are better? -
No, you are probably at the rum supply though. Honestly, you can't leave Wouwie alone for 2 seconds! Well, I was planning to invite some friends over for a launching party.
