LEGO Disney Minifigures & D2Cs - Rumors and Discussion
dvt replied to Robert8's topic in LEGO Licensed
and can we just appreciate SOMEONE had to realize the disturbing Edna and I for one will be grateful they resolved that horrible face they released in polybag form last summer. Granted... it does lower the value on the extras I have... but hey, I'll take it because the expression and glasses on the hair mold is fantastic.- 961 replies

100% agree. I'm glad they didnt' do just one triplet, all or none. I got a feeling Jack will be one of popular figures of the series and the triplets will be left in the bins after everyone has ruffled through them.- 961 replies

LEGO Disney Minifigures & D2Cs - Rumors and Discussion

I guess that fellow who posted on all the chats and got threatened to be banned two years ago completely can now sleep in peace at night knowing Series 2 is officially announced and will be released in 7 weeks. I see the white line but that is the top of the legs. There should be another line if it was there. If you look back at series 1 (Donald for example) you'll see he has two white lines, one for the legs, one for the tail. His tail wasn't really noticed until were physically out because it was so hard to see in the released renders.- 961 replies

Odd. The triplets dont have moveable feet but Chip and Dale do. Wonder if its because of the two-tone coloring or just for design purposes. Also, the ducks dont have the "duck" tail that Daisy and Donald had last wave. Thats a little disappointing.- 961 replies

Side note, I went and looked it up and there isn't a single f-bomb in the entire show. Frequent swearing out of Dustin's mouth? yes, but no f-bombs from any character in the entire show. If this was a movie it would be rated PG-13. No nudity, no major blood either (edit: just rewatched the clip of Bob Newby dying, there is blood there but it is pretty quick and I don't think it would constitute an R rating in today's system). Its def dark but the rating system doesn't have anything that would trigger an R rating. Ratings are determined on a point based system that get tallied up. If you cross the threshold, you get that rating, but those thresholds are changed from time to time.

LEGO Disney Minifigures & D2Cs - Rumors and Discussion

I think I'm being the opposite of cynical. LEGO still giving the ideas credit for a set instead of having bad PR similar to what happened with the Firehouse is just evolution of policy within a business and the right move on their part. I remember this community (eurobricks) as well as brickpicker and reddit pissed off and calling LEGO straight up a thief for "stealing" the Ghostbuster Firehouse after the ideas got rejected even after they TLG responded that they had one in the works. Policy more than likely was updated in the event that something similar happen again. It's just called business adapting and realizing that public persona aka "brand" is important. Has nothing to do with cynical, has to do with realizing how evolution in companies work and guess what I would do in their shoes. Do I work for LEGO and was I in the room for the conversations? No. But not once in LEGO IDEAS' history has a set been approved status and hit the shelves 6 weeks later. Could be wrong as to the "why" but data from the past paints a different picture that something in this process with this particular set was on a faster track than every single submission prior to this.- 961 replies

The normal rate at which from approval to in store is generally 9ish months, some cases longer (I think it was Volton, could be wrong but one of them was over a year). A normal development pipeline for product is 12-18 months. The ideas rate goes faster because already having a target in mind done in LEGO that is submitted, so its 6-9 months, and yet we got leaks for this before review stage officially signed off on it? Even with an existing Disney partner ship in place to talk Disney into agreeing to do a Steamboat Willie set will take time. Yeah... it was already coming regardless of the ideas. More than likely to avoid the huge backlash from the community from Ghostbusters a few years ago, I'm guessing (guess, not certain but makes sense) they decided it wasn't worth the bad PR. Just swallow the 1% profit the creator will make and hand it over; it's not worth the ~25k-35k. So many people were outraged at what make them look like they used ideas to essentially steal. Same thing would of happened this time with Steamboat Willie.- 961 replies

Apparently people already cleared out the asian skirt piece yesterday quickly. I called and asked about half of the asian dim sum cuisine that was out of stock and was told variety of times (estimates), mostly in mid Feb. -
Marvel Superheroes 2019 - Rumours, Speculation & Discussion

Those posts are straight up trolling. In the black widow one, there is absolutely no female markings (breast or hip lines) that we have seen in every female figure in how many years now? Huge red flag. If the poster is going to reuse the same torso to troll one avenger, they’ll do it for the rest. Time will tell, but I’m just surprised how eager people seem to be to believe the interwebz when generally this group is pretty skeptic. -

BrickHeadz 2019 - Rumours, Speculation and Discussion
dvt replied to Anonknee Muss's topic in LEGO Licensed
I spoke with employees at my local LEGO store (USA based) about Brickheadz and they only have upcoming 2019 on the roadmap. All 2018 brickheadz have been sold out from their physical store and they will not be getting more of any 2018 characters/models. Edit: basically saying that now *looks* like USA is matching other locales for stopping the random licenses that they seem to be getting.- 238 replies

BrickHeadz 2019 - Rumours, Speculation and Discussion

#84 isn’t shown here. Odd that they’re missing one in order and could be something else, but when the pattern of Thanksgiving (yes, a U.S. holiday itself which has grown and adopted by other countries) it would make sense they continue the pattern. If TLG doeant want to repeat the turkey because they did it previously.. that doesn’t leave very many symbolic symbols for the traditional holiday which has had a festive holiday set now for years. I doubt, but possible, TLG will break the pattern which goes back to what bruckheadz will they do instead. And I just realized I misread part of your comment. Basically TLG has made a thanksgiving set repeatedly and there is a missing number for the series.- 238 replies

I got to the nearest Barnes and Noble ~10 min prior to opening and asked when I was checking out about quantities. The clerk said that there was only a single box/container and had it behind the counter. It looked like the box could hold 12, possibly as high as 16 individual sets.

That same blog post on TheBrickFan has a comment screenshot where Marcos (lead designer for LEGO on the theme) said there are more coming in 2019.
