  1. Legit excited for this one.
  2. Almost like a voice speaking from the dust (regarding LotR)? Minas Tirith... still the greatest tragedy of the modern age
  3. 15 yrs is a long time in LEGO time. Builds have gotten so much more detailed in the last 5 years, let alone 15. The ship from concept art, actual films, as well as the latest book that was put out (which has some awesome art all around) would provide a much better direction than what I view as a fairly cartoony and simple set that LEGO created. it does align with the overall vibe of the previous release, but I would expect something a lot more updated for the current wave and greatly look forward to it if it happens.
  4. This ^. 100% this. There are only two themes over the last 10-15 years I don't have that stand out in my mind. Sponge Bob (which i personally despise the cartoon & have always hated) and Harry Potter. I'm at 11 yrs collecting/hoarding/building/whatever you wanna call it. When I started back into LEGO, there were a few themes I wanted that were retired (Avatar, NBA 2004, Pharaoh's Quest, Indiana Jones) and I back filled the ones I wanted; except Harry Potter. Harry Potter was on its last wave when I REALLY started collecting (not just 1 or two sets here or there). The cost of back filling so many waves just didn't seem worth it. I almost bit the bullet several times but never did. Some characters looked OK, some looked... ummm less than ideal for me personally. Over this time period (2010-now), there have been some good legit sets. LotR was good and fun (Bag End set is awesome), still love the mystery van from Scooby-do, LOVED monster fighters, but that was all years ago. The last few years: marvel has def taken a quality hit in my personal opinion, DC isn't quite the same for marvel for me ( I blame xmen & spiderman cartoons vs Batman: The Animated Series of the 90's). Star Wars? Rinse and repeat, and every once in a while an awesome set comes through that I really love (mllenium falcon here and Slave I). I woulda said 1-2 years ago my personal favorite line was the Expert Creator with the roller-coaster, ferris wheel, modulars etc. with where things currently stood. Now? It's not even close. 100% Harry Potter. Not only has exceeded my expectations, I also no longer have ANY desire to backfill with the older sets. I'm trust that LEGO will do a fantastic job because of one single reason: the designers/creators actually love what they're making. It appears they've been given some decent rope and freedom to do it well, not half way. For that I applaud "the powers that be" who have done this reboot so well, and for that: "thank you". I'm still hoping we get another Q&A or even just some random insight from designers similar to how we learned about taking extra budget from Jurassic World. Between CMF, advent, D2C & the regular waves, it has been done with quality, attention to detail, and a long term strategy to be profitable and successful.
  5. Once an item's inventory drops under 200, they will grey the item out incase mass orders come in simultaneously. Sometimes, you can call in and they will have some in stock. Majority of the time, on items out of stock, the CS rep will be able to tell you a date when items are will be replenished by. (FYI Lioness is out until Feb 6 incase anyone else cares.) TLDR: Grey'd out can mean "low" inventory as well as completely sold out.
  6. I was looking at the Upcoming Trolls sets and noticed that in the $30 set, the figure is a centaur based character with the normal shirt attached to it. New mold and Overlooking the blue color but.... the sizing is so much smaller than I would of expected to make a horse/centaur figure. I would want a little larger, but the scale worked. Just interesting side note.
  7. Luna with her lionhead, complete with magic spell to make it roar, is #1 priority to me on CMF. But since LEGO doesn't ask me to vote on their selection process, its just a wish.
  8. I spoke with my local LEGO store and they confirmed July 1 release in the states.
  9. Where do you see the waffle piece? I've looked through the leaks and I dont see any Eggo waffles.
  10. I've been able to open 3 boxes now and have had the previously listed pattern work every time for triplets (Left back 1, middle front 2 spots, right front 2, right back 1) , and Jack (middle, 7th back)
  11. Report them, I already have. Link is on the right side of the post.
  12. Weird. Incognito works just fine (but then its annoying because my user has anyone who posts pics, memes or anything non-leaks to the hashtag gets blocked for my personal feed). Maybe its just me, oh well. Otherwise I get this: "Top posts from # legoleaks are currently hidden because the community has reported some content that may not meet Instagram's community guidelines."
  13. And instagram just froze the main tag....
  14. Excellent TLDR, thanks!
  15. Depends on how they do the head pieces. TBH I could see this being a huge success. Not because of the IP but with the right color scheme (think elves) AFOLs will get behind it. They're already showing its minifigs, not dolls. Bright colors to build vegetation? Win for everyone Minifigs not dolls? Win for me personally. The kicker here is how do the heads look which haven't been revealed. If they're stylized heads, then yes, I can see this being "meh" because how many heads do i need that look "off" but can't be customized to other figs. But if they do normal heads but with actual legit hairpieces for the hair in Poppy, Branch or whoever? Pink bright hair with elves ears put on Captain America or random castle person in the dungeon? Huge win and I got a feeling it would sell. Up-do crazy hair pieces that are random, unique? MOC application is big, new molds, etc . I'm only guessing, but Dreamworks isn't as crazy about their IP as other brands *cough* Disney and I HOPE that LEGO learned a few things from Simpsons. Crossing my fingers for normal LEGO approach for the heads without the weird non-swap-able head pieces. From a business perspective, I would roll the dice with this. I have no idea who green lit the Angry Birds (10 yrs after their peak in the games, but then again I dont know why the movie was made either). But this could work out fantastically.
  16. TLDR: If you work with people in the world and the public likes your product, there isn't much of anything you can do. Wow... people freaking out because LEGO doesn't like leaks. NO joke they don't... but in the end they're still gonna make product. As long as there are people in the world who want their minute of fame, there will be leaks over popular products. Movies, LEGO, video games, etc. DOESN'T MATTER. Doesn't make it morally right either, but its the side affect of having a popular product. What, they're going to cancel their products? Haha... yeah right. Delay it? Does it really matter if it comes out day 1 or day 15? Unless they're trying to get money our for Christmas, not really. They can use fear to fight, but in reality.... in the world of social media... good luck. cats don't go back in bags. From a business standpoint (doesnt matter TBH because its not my product) this is childish of TLG. oh well, companies will do what they want.
  17. This list was accurate as well with mine.
  18. Interesting. They're branded "Harry Potter" not "Wizarding World".
  19. That is concerning. In about 6 days I'll get to go dig myself around bins, it'll be fun and i'm excited!
  20. I would be really suspect of anything said on Instagram when the goal is followers/likes. His distribution does not align at all with others that have reported. Is it impossible to get a full box missing a figure? yes. Considering how retail works, is it likely? No. LEGO isn't known for low quality and cutting corners. Other companies? I wouldn't be surprised, but not one that has a world reputation for leading quality. More than likely he's trolling. I would be more inclined to believe it with say 4 Dewey, 2 Louie, 0 Huey, but not his distribution. Looks like the instagramer got 2 boxes and then setup the image.
  21. Looks like the triplets have tails!
  22. The trouble with testing waters for a specific brand with CMF is that they literally can’t key on which character is being purchased. I view it as Disney trying to reinforce current IP that are out. Speculation, but putting products behind certain IP (frozen is a no brained). There is no tracking to uniquely identify which character is bought from analytical standpoint though.
  23. I have time to kill at work so sure, I'll type some thoughts here. Not sure if you were being rhetorical or actually wanted to know some of the thought decision process behind minidolls, but I'll offer my experience on it regardless. After 18 years of personal collecting LEGO its been interesting to watch it evolve. Did anyone in the 90's ever think Star Wars sets let alone random figures from majority of every mainstream pop culture reference would be the standard and style for LEGO? With regards to the minidolls: LEGO did a massive amount of research to decide how they best wanted to go after little girls market that would never seem to stick. After 4+ years of extensive (multiple dedicated teams, they've written blogs and done video insights on their research as well) The "TLDR" version is that they found girls enjoyed playing with the end builds more than expected and after A/B testing, LEGO found that the dolls were preferred by the target market for their audience/goal (aka little girls). There are a few forums on eurobricks as well about this topic if people are interested in more info. Brands take time to test the waters. Each studio operates independently to see what works for them. Just because Star Wars (at the time, none of it was under Disney either) decides LEGO works well, doesn't mean Marvel, Disney and Pixar studios will adopt same practices. Each studio will test their own waters for their profitability long term and come up with their own conclusions. Also, Disney Princess which was the second minidoll theme to come to light (has since transferred to a broader "Disney" theme) was a big deal when it came out. LEGO had done DUPLO theme for characters around Mickey Mouse Club, but never LEGO. They're slowly dipping their toes in. Disney Princess, Disney Castle, Series 1, now Steamboat Willie and series 2 with a broader "Disney" line instead of the princess, etc. I would guess that as long as things continue to go well "aka make money" that in 2-3 years time more sets (more than 1 every 3 years outside of the princess minidolls) will be likely. I for one am thrilled about the quality of the characters. I want more, but love what we have. Today, we have ~60 unique minifigures from Disney/Pixar and ~40 minidoll characters. 3 years ago we had 10. I'm grateful that others have helped to build the use case that it is profitable for a toy to invest in themes that I also enjoy. If they sell well, which I'm sure they will, the partnership will grow. Things take time, not my ideal time scale but at least its happening.
  24. I agree, I'm guessing it'll be the Train or Main Street. Makes the most sense.
