  2. I must admit that I really like this set. A very big house with a lot of minifigures, good job here. I'm curious to see the inside of the basement. I'll take it as soon as it's on the shelves.
  3. The vehicle makes me laugh. Figs are great. Will not purchase this... for such a price !
  4. This story is truely incredible. He just wanted to see the Toronto skyline display. Very bad point for Lego here ! I would sent this guy a free set if I had his address.
  5. I buy the americabricks.com domain name immediately. You'll not got me twice :D Seriously, don't do such jokes, I almost had a heart attack lol
  6. It's not April the first, today... What is this joke about renaming Eurobricks "Ameribricks" ? And this fake vote where you can only vote yes or yes ? I don't feel very american, you know, as I love France, my country, and I'lm european. Call this Occident Bricks and everyone will be happy. This kind of takeover over an international community is a shame. If you wanna stay together on your very own private forum, europeans can leave, it's not a problem. We will create our own European Forums where you will not be autorized to connect. We can also start to boycott Bricklink vendors that are not europeans, what do you think about this cool idea ? For the moment I'm also thinking about all these people from Australia, New Zealand, Japan, Asia and "non-american" areas. Don't know why you decided such a change, but excuse my outspokenness, it's the most stupid idea I've seen for a long time.
  7. It happened once to me, in King's Castle ; a slope replaced by an inverted slope, in the same color. So, I had one uncorrect brick on 150k bricks owned :D
  8. I just finished reading "Spin", by Robert Charles Wilson. A very realistic story, despite the fact that it is science-fiction. The writer has really an incredible talent ! I don't know what I will read now. Probably an other sci-fi novel !
  9. Welcome to Eurobricks ! And, yes, as an european, I know where Wisconsin is : between New York and San Francisco but this forum is not for europeans only : everybody is welcomed here !
  10. I watched Battleship recently. It is a movie full of explosions, heavy weapons and patriotism, but I really appreciated it, because it's really done to have a good time watching impressive scenes with a touch of basic humor. A massive blockbuster full of clichés without any philosophical or spiritual pretentiousness
  11. One of my friends went in a night club with me and other people we knew. He drank a little too much and felt unconscious behind our wall seat, and nobody noticed it. I thought he had left in car with someone else. In fact, he awoke in the morning, around 7 AM, alone in the night club, no music, no other light than the sun. He took his mobile phone and called his parents, but when walking alone on the closed night club he activated the silent alarm. The night club owner, living in the house in front of his night club, believed he was a robber and arrived with a gun and shouted at him to lay down to the ground. My friend was totally terrified and had to explain everything to an overexcited night club owner. A very unpleasant moment for him ! My personnal worst moment happened when I saw one of my friends discussing with two other guys in the middle of the street. I went and saluted him, and tried to shake hands to one of the guy he was talking to. The guy just looked at me as if I was a martian and said "It's the police. You're a friend of this guy ? Show me your papers please." Of course they were policemen wearing civilian clothes and my friend was accused of stealing a motorbike (What was not true in fact, after investigation)
  12. I really appreciate the visual aspect of this scene and the nice use of the baseplate The jungle is well represented too with a lot of plants, and the minifigs used are realistic (I really like the conquistadores' golden helmet). The fortress walls are a success too with the use of these big printed parts !
  13. I'm reading Vestiges, by Laurence Sunher (Switzerland), a science-fiction novel that takes place on a ice planet called Gemma. It's quite interesting, despite some problems of meaning in the text (I think it's a new writer). I also secretly read Twilight at work (and I am a man )
  14. Wow it costs 4.400$ Less expesive than a new car however
  15. Thanks for this review, I relally appreciate this set I had when I was 12. I don't get it anymore, but maybe one day I will afford it again
  16. I vote the Sith Night Speeder Dark Maul Sith Infiltrator. Never found how Lego managed to create such a thing. But I just discovered the Star Wars Bucket and I must admit that it's a shame I could also mention the Mini Modulars (interest ?), the Clone Wars "Hyena Droid Bomber", and the Ninjago's boat "Destiny's Bounty" (I meditated a lot about that boat).
  17. I would buy my dream car and a new computer for my videogames. Some expensive wears, too
  18. I'm reading The Journeyer, by Gary Jennings, a historical novel about the life of Marco Polo. I am at his first travel, as a young boy, on his father's ship, from Venice to Acre (Israël). The novel is full of interesting details about the cities seen and the context of medieval Venice and Acre, but also has some "special" parts that could shock some puritans. However, most of the book is really interesting and you learn a lot of other things about this adventure.
  19. I saw Twelve Monkeys, with Bruce Willis. It has not captivated me. The movie is a kind of maelstrom of scenes that are quite difficult to understand. And the end is not extraodinary too. What saves the movie from the disaster is the role Brad Pitt plays, excellent here !
  20. I've just finished to build mine and I can confirm that it's the best Star Wars ship I get. It's the first time I build a set that look so perfect on every point : good Old Trilogy design, imperial Sith colors, extraordinary figs, excellent stickers - there's only 4 in the box and they are useful, for a while, swoshable (the ship structure is very strong), you can put the three figs inside and the serigraphied window of the cockpit is really detailed. Of course the price is a problem, like it is on every new Star Wars set now. But I think you can forget another cool-but-not-fantastic set you plan to buy, to afford this one. You get to priorize... and this set is your priority
  21. Yes I think it must have been terrible to move those trees without breaking them !
  22. Really stunning scene excellent MOC here !
  23. The TGV blue train is really well done, I hadn't noticed it before ! The cathedral interior is magnificent too The Twilight baseball scene with the portrait is a nice tribute to this famous movie. I also particularly like the pirate ship with green sails
  24. So, in your opinion, everything is fine, there's absolutely no problem with Lego bricks and the people saying that they have problems are whiners. You even say that you prefer the translucency of the new bricks, do you think that it's what most people prefer ? I'm not tracking my sets to find issues, I'm only noticing them when I build them. The squeaking problem for new figs never happened to previous sets. It's not a thing that happen to every minifigure you buy. And I'm quite impressed to read that if I get bricks damaged on my sets, it's because I use them incorrectly... I agree with the fact that mass-production of sets leads minor problems to become large-scaled problems. Lego is producing one thousand bricks per second. Of course I inform them about the issues I see, and most of the time the answer is OK, parts are replaced. But it could become a problem if Lego decided to stop such a politic. Or if they decided to include weaker bricks in every sets and replace the ones of the few clients complaining. I never said that Lego is voluntarily creating these problems. But since they moved several factories in extra-european countries to lower their labour costs, these quality problems became widespread. A lot of AFOLs mentionned those problems. I personally had several issues like parts errors (parts replaced by other), low sticker printing quality, excessive translucency on light-bluish grey and yellow bricks (Mine sets for example), windows glasses very badly molded on the City Hall, bricks that do not stay connected well like the SW Cad Bane large hat, etc. There was also a risk on some remote controllers for trains (this is mentionned on the Shop website). Think what you want, but I will continue to have a close look at all these "minor" problems that tend to generalize.
