Sherman M4A3 Tank
treeboy replied to treeboy's topic in Digital LEGO: Tools, Techniques, and Projects
The cannon does move up and down. Also , just for clarification, it's Mechanized Bricks design. It's been a good experience putting it together using BrickShelf and LDD. If I have any issue with the design it's that it is a little delicate, hence the tiles in the front. The tile shore it up because the two 3x2 plates in the middle front aren't supported by anything above the sloped part with the extra tracks. That's not such a big deal for me but the kid, of course, wants to play with it... Also, I was thinking that since this thread doesn't have the lxf anymore perhaps it should be moved. That's up to the powers that be. -

How to print out part list from LDD?
treeboy replied to bzcat's topic in Digital LEGO: Tools, Techniques, and Projects
Sorry, I use LDDManager for this. However, looking at an LXFML file in notepad I can see parsing the file into just part numbers then importing that into BrickLink. There is this thread that explains LXFML's if you feel up to it. -
How to print out part list from LDD?

Try LDDManager. You need MS Access 2003 (I have 2007 and it works fine), but if you do you can't beat it. You can find the thread here in the LDD & Other Digital Tools topic. Here is LDDManager thread link -

I received an update when starting AudoBrick this morning (1.5.4.6). Was wondering if there was a change log for this somewhere? -
Sherman M4A3 Tank
treeboy replied to treeboy's topic in Digital LEGO: Tools, Techniques, and Projects
Here is the finished product. Made a few changes to the original model by Mechanized Brick, like the canon, instead of round brick (3062) I used a outer cable 72MM (76324) and the rims are different on the actual MOC vs the LDD MOC. All in all it was fun and looks good. Final price...$115.00 to 12 BL stores. -

Nice figs! I'm interested in WWII figs. I saw the medic one and will probably be getting a couple of those, but I'm currently working on a Sherman tank and need the tank commander, driver and gunner so... if you can help in that dept that would be great.

The East Sacramento area stores have, what I would judge, as a moderate sale. Some smaller stets at 30% off and an Atlantis (8061) at 50% off. Though the smaller sets at the sale price still were around $0.10/pc. I kind of felt like I was shopping at Safeway where they jack the "retail" price up and then put a "sale" price that is actually the MSRP. What ever, I managed to pick up a few sets at reasonable amounts.

AudoBrick : Manage your collection
treeboy replied to Audosoft's topic in Digital LEGO: Tools, Techniques, and Projects
Any word on the update progress? I'm using v1.5.3.6. -
Thanks for the review. Very detailed and thorough. I just purchased this set and really enjoyed building it and manipulating it's various parts (playing with it). I agreed with most of your criticisms concerning its color scheme though I thought the technic pieces used for the roof attachment was really cool and original, having, clearly, not built the RAS my self. None the less, good review and sorry for the old post bump but I wanted to comment. Funny, I am reminded of what Anton Ego says in Ratatouille: "In many ways, the work of a critic is easy. We risk very little, yet enjoy a position over those who offer up their work and their selves to our judgment. We thrive on negative criticism, which is fun to write and to read. But the bitter truth we critics must face, is that in the grand scheme of things, the average piece of junk is probably more meaningful than our criticism designating it so." Thanks again.

Any hope of being able to add MOC inventories to the My Stock > Parts? -
AudoBrick : Manage your collection
treeboy replied to Audosoft's topic in Digital LEGO: Tools, Techniques, and Projects
I put some effort into AudoBrick last night and I think it's going in the direction I, personally, need it to. I would like to recommend that MOC's be allowed to be added to "My Stock". Also, after using the MOC menu and creating a new MOC, by importing a BtickLink xml file, then closing the software for the night when I reopened AudoBrick the MOC wasn't in the MOC tab in My Stock. - That's a lot of MOC's. I'm running a windows 7 SP1 box with AudoBrick v1.5.3.6 - Demo. It's crashed a few times on me when I have gone "click" happy while it was still working, specifically while AudoBrick was loading Linked Parts in My Stock and I clicked on the MOC tab. I'd be willing to pay for this software if there were more portions translated into English though I just used Google Translate on the site and it sufficed. Thanks for this software it's progressing nicely and will be a great asset soon. -
[Software] LDD Manager
treeboy replied to Superkalle's topic in Digital LEGO: Tools, Techniques, and Projects
@Superkalle where can I access the generated BrickLink xml upload file? I want to try to import it into AudBrick. Edit: Well, I just pasted the resultant xml generated to the clipboard into notepad, saved it as an xml and then imported that into AudoBrick and it seemed to work. -

Sherman M4A3 Tank
treeboy replied to treeboy's topic in Digital LEGO: Tools, Techniques, and Projects
Nope, whatever is protocol. Thanks for the encouraging word. I did see that tool and played with it for a while, but couldn't get it to work so indeed I will ask for some help on that because it would make it muy better. I also am having trouble, obviously, attaching the five treads at the front of the MOC to the holder plates (4085) on the the sloping face of the tank. That's funny you pointed that out because I got some of the pieces from a BrickLink store yesterday, those technic bricks being among them, and one was gray and I was wondering why. Well there you go. If anyone is interested I can put pictures up when it's built. -

LDD info topic

Sorry for this, but how does one upload their .lxf's. I thought I saw this answer somewhere but I couldn't find it again. When I attempt to attach an lxf to a post I get "you are not allowed to upload this type of file" have I not reached a certain threshold? -
