  1. Nice pickup! I like the stepside and stake bed rails. One thing you may consider is a rear window wraparound if it was a high end model. Good work.
  2. Which stripe, The vertical or horizontal one?
  3. Indeed, #7 is my second choice.
  4. My situation is simple, I don't have many Lego parts and those "I" do have are ostensibly my sons so I design my model in LDD and order all the parts through BL that's until I get a bone-yard going then who knows.
  5. I too like the beige color theme, but since you want to hang with the gray try reversing the highlight white with the gray of the "front" (rounded portion) maintaining the gray of the top bottom and "back". It lightens the look quite a bit, however, the white of LDD, at least on my monitor, isn't white white but rather egg-shelly. The green band I changed to beige and all in all it's pretty nice looking though considerably lighter in tone. Great building and I think the lighter tones will work in a city scape. I also tried a sort of checker board effect maintaining the outside 1x6 gray brick grey and reversing the rest as described above. This gives it a more dark feel while maintaining the light tone and increasing the visual interest. Anyway some ideas there.
  6. Very nice and thank you for the conversion and lxf's
  7. Are these 2011 ones usually for Christmas time or do we think they/this will come out earlier? Thanks for the pic. Interesting the smoke emanating from the lamps at the stern, they're like engines.
  8. It seems that most if not all sellers on BL take PayPal but hereis an informative link. Next to the sellers name (the name of the admin for the seller) is a feedback rating brick. Hereis another link regarding feedback.
  9. This would be incredibly helpful as I am experiencing availability of color issues. There seems to be some discrepancy when importing LDD.lxf into LDDManager i.e: 199 - dark stone grey in LDD turns to Dark Bluish Gray in LDManager. Clearly I don't have a grasp of all this yet but I am willing to be enlightened. I guess I need to check out the color pallets here!

Sweet! I've been inspired and feel inadequate all at the same time though I do prefer to think of us humans dancing on the piled heaps of machine carnage at the end of the mechanized revolution.
  11. Yea the Sherman tank in my profile pic was done with LDD, obviously, and the building mode was totally jacked.I am running Win 7 64 bit too, so... That's good info on the 2D-3D and coordinate info something I didn't glean while doing so research. The color thing is correct I'm sure, but when attempting to purchase bricks for the Sherman I used LDDManager and BrickLink since I am using extended mode etc. and the colors were different when imported to LDDManager not he actual color I don't think but the number and name. I like the "more natural building experience" idea and will stick with LDD for now, but undoubtedly will try LDraw because that's how I am. Thanks all for the replies.
  12. Do "we" still agree that LDraw (MLCAD) should be used for design and instructions even with Extended mode in LDD? I am looking into LDraw, but honestly after viewing the installation instructions I got discouraged (lazy) and thought "I wonder if I really need LDraw". So any insight others can provide is greatly appreciated.
  13. Do I really need to post ten times before I can post lxf's? Never mind I found this topic.
  14. Thanks this works great just what I was looking for! One issue, however. When I add a brick that wasn't visible before activating the extended version I get a warning that if I use said brick the model won't be able to be uploaded and I can't check the price. Is this correct? Thanks again to all for this extended functionality.
