Lego Ideas Support Thread - Historical/Castle
CorvusA replied to leafan's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
Hi!!, this is my first LEGO IDEAS project, "Sorcerer's Tower", a beatiful and detailed tower with a workshop in the top floor, I hope find some support here, where you know how to appreciate this kind stuff (its being complicated, even being a high quality product) https://ideas.lego.com/projects/7eb2cb1c-c350-4dc5-b23e-c43f75c4bf32- 532 replies

I present you my first LEGO IDEAS project, A detailed medieval tower with a sorcerer's workshop in the top floor. it has almost 3000 pieces and it comes with tons of textures, details and arcane stuff. It includes 4 minifigures; the sorcerer (Vladicus), the elf apprendice, a ghost and an armor. I have designed this tower having in mind not only the medieval/fantasy themes, it could fit in City as well (in Europe we have tons of this architecture in our cities). The building is modular but only the top floor is playable. Some pieces have custom patterns and I will make more in the future updates. You can find more pics and info in the LINK. Whats your opinion? https://ideas.lego.com/projects/7eb2cb1c-c350-4dc5-b23e-c43f75c4bf32

Best you can do is the next: 1 - You import the LDD file on Stud.io 2 - Remove the corrupted pieces 3 - Open the PartDesigner tool of Stud.io (standalone program) 4 - Import on it the pieces you need from the LDraw catalogue ( you download them in .dat format) -> https://www.ldraw.org/cgi-bin/ptlist.cgi 5 - Export from PartDesigner to Stud.io those pieces 6 - In the "Custom parts" section of Stud.io you will have access to those pieces It works for me -

Many many thanks man! -
I honestly would pay 50-80€/$ for a PRO version. I dont need any exrta tool (Stud.io for those uses), I JUST WANT!! a modern LDD with all the pieces and upgraded graphics/performance... (And support for future updates as well). I dont see it so complicate and dont understand why LEGO doesnt want to give that to us, I consider myself a LEGO professional/artist and I need a good software. I wonder if we maybe started a massive petition...

Custom LDD bricks and fixes

Just discovered this today, one year ago I posted a topic about future LDD official updates and was clear that LDD would be dead. So...MANY THANKS to all the people involved on this marvel. I prefer to design in LDD over Stud.io and this is an amazing discover!. -
I have discovered that the LDD files located in Appdata/romaing were imcompleted ( one of the missing was the palette info) so the installer may be corrupted, I copy them from the laptop to the PC and now roks, its really weird but well, now I can use again the brick version 2760 and not the shitty brick version 777 that provides LEGO currently... If someone has this problem in the future, send me a private because I have saved the required files of the palette apart, just in case

Hi, yesterday I reinstalled windows (Windows 10 like before) and all the apps, LDD included, version 4.3.11, brick version 2670 ( I dont want the last version of the official LEGO page because is a broken piece of shit with the half of the pieces, thanks TLG). Well, the issue with the Adobe in the installation was solved but today I have opened a file and try to change a colour and... there is only red in the palette LOL. Kinda weird because I used this version until two days ago...even in my laptop I have it as well and I see the complete palette. Can someone helps me please?? I work with LDD and Stud.io makes me angry ( I need the double of time to make the same build, the mechanics are VERY CLUNKY) Screenshot-> https://imgur.com/a/oZjxCJa

LDD 4.3.12 update could be possible??
CorvusA replied to CorvusA's topic in Digital LEGO: Tools, Techniques, and Projects
Features of Stud.io with the mechanics and gameplay of LDD. That would be the perfect software. Its funny because Stud.io fails in the most important point, just building with bricks as the basic concept. -

2020 and still no news from TLG about LDD, thanks LEGO for you rsupport of the community xD. Now I spend the double of time using Stud.io to make the same design (a lot of useful tools and professional, but horrible mechanics and "gameplay") -

100% Agree, for those reasons I would buy a licensed version -
LDD 4.3.12 update could be possible??
CorvusA replied to CorvusA's topic in Digital LEGO: Tools, Techniques, and Projects
Yeah but as I said, LDD, its much more dinamic and fast. In my case for exmaple I have not 1 week to make a small MOC. And Stud.io/Mecabricks are slow because are more complex editors. The controls of LDD are more friendly, like a videogame, so everything in the building go like a thunder. Stud.io and Mecabricks are ideal for illegal techniques and render, but that is the 5% of my total work
