  1. Lmao, I love it, I’m here for the impending anarchy... at this point I’m morbidly curious of how bad it can get.
  2. I really do hope there’s a 2001 Room of Winged Keys remake with an expanded Chessboard along with a $20 Mirror of Erised is in the pipeline. It would be weird having the Forbidden Corridor and the hatch leading to nowhere.

  4. Still don’t know if I’m being quite honest, I’m a bit torn. I love both the 2018 Hogwarts extensions but their biggest downfall was the lack of notable rooms and scenes. I didn’t think the designers hit their stride with having both an awesome interior and exterior till the Clocktower which came with the prefect’s bathroom and the Yule Ball which was incredibly well done and paired with the Advent Calendar so nicely. The Astronomy Tower was also great too with both the Herbology and Astronomy Classrooms alongside Slug Club. And adding Room of Requirements made it even better. Only thing different I would have done was swapped Slughorn’s office for Umbridge’s. These new extensions from the sounds of interior at least blow away both the GH and WW. They give us the biggest scenes from the first two movies. So I think at the end of the day, I think I’m just going to display the new Hogwarts expansion if the exterior looks close to the 2018 version and supplement it with the 2018’s GH figures, and make a more a PS/CoS/POA/GoF centric display. Pair it with Hagrid’s Hut, Aragog’s Liar, and Expecto Patronum, First Task and Hogsmeade, and downsize the shelf space my current display has. Part of me wants to mod it so I can connect it to Astronomy Tower and Clocktower, but I don’t think I have the patience or skills for that.
  5. Yeah not having Snape and Draco is kinda odd but I’d rather have them excluded since they are a lot more common to find then say Colin Creevy or any of the first time minifigs. But I wouldn’t be surprised in the slightest if the $30 August set is The Dueling Club that can be added in the Great Hall. Have Draco, Snape, Dueling Club Lockhart, Harry, and a new snake mold. Seeing that Lego went back to their prototype for the new Great Hall to include the Chambers, maybe they take the originally planned Dueling Club portion as well and expanded on it.
  6. Yeah I remember when the set list leaked for the 2018 wave and the name Whomping Willow popped up, everybody was expecting a POA set since it was the namesake. So seeing a more detailed Whomping Willow with it being the sole focus of the set would be great, someone on Reddit modified the Lego Bonsai to resemble the Whomping Willow and it was phenomenal. This might be another remake I wouldn’t mind and I always love tree builds. Maybe have it like the Treehouse where you can have the WW naked on with Spring buds. Getting Padfoot and Werewolf Lupin would be great too.
  7. As much as I despise the ideas of remakes, the new Great Hall/Chamber of Secrets probably had the best minifig selection in a HP set thus far. That and having the Chamber of Secret and a revamped Basilisk makes it a huge draw. I remember Lego designers talking about wanting to put a Chamber under the 2018 one so it’s going to be interesting to now see their vision fulfilled. But I really can’t see them having great success remaking other sets with same appeal. Yeah you can always do a PS Hagrid’s Hut but having Fang or a unicorn isn’t going to make me drop $70 on the same set. Same with Quidditch, the Hufflepuff and Ravenclaw robes won’t be that much of a draw and you could always army build from BrickLink. Part of me really does want the $250 set to be Hogwarts Express just so I can save money, but I’m still dying for Gringott’s. It’s just way too soon for remakes imo. Honestly if the August sets are a disappointment, I’ll live. The anniversary sets sound so incredible, so they will suffice. Any new set I would welcome with open arms (even DH sets), but the only thing that will be disappointing are remakes. Even then more money saved for that $800 AT AT
  8. I honestly don’t know what more could they do from those movies, and I say that as someone who loves those two the most. I guess you could do a Room of the Winged Keys, a small $20 Mirror of Erised with Harry and Quirell, and maybe the Chessboard. Maybe another Forbidden Forest addition. But those just aren’t really appealing at all, I think these Anniversary sets have covered the essentials for the first two quite well. But I wouldn’t put it past Lego since it’s kinda odd we have a gold Voldemort but not a gold Dumbledore. Maybe he’ll come in the D2C.
  9. Not having many DH sets doesn’t mean the Lego HP line is dying, this is arguably the largest amount of sets in one year with three waves: moments, anniversary, and whatever August is. They clearly know the theme has interest.
  10. There’s also Gabriella’s sleeping face in the Beauxbaton’s Carriage as well.
  11. Believe me, I don’t feel bad about collecting never have and never will. And you won’t virtue shame into believing otherwise. And yeah having one variant of Harry Potter, a character that has countless other variants, be exclusive to one set isn’t stopping anyone from “building a brighter tomorrow” or whatever utopia you believe in.
  12. You don’t need to directly use an insult to imply you are insulting me, stop acting coy. With your questions it was meant to insinuate that I was greedy which I’m not and all who hold the same opinion as I do isn’t greedy either. “What type of person am I” But enough, I really can’t argue with people who just use insults as their basis of their arguments.
  13. You don't have to type them on here. Just think about what kind of person this makes you, if you argue like you just did. Is it really true that your own precious possession becomes less meaningful to you, because others have it as well? You may have not send it directly but you clearly implied it with this passage right here and just descended into personal attacks. Don’t give me the whole spiel about being innocent because you aren’t. Don’t even compare yourself to Jesus because you just look down on others and indulge in this false sense of virtue. You lack any sense of empathy or understanding and just label anyone you disagree with as vain and greedy while hiding behind this veneer (see I can use big boy words too) of false eloquence and arrogance.
  14. You can take it easy with the personal attacks there pal lmao, we just have a difference in opinion. And if you think that’s arguing hard, you really haven’t seen much. Truth is I don’t argue with people who don’t argue in good faith and devolve into insults, so this is finished. You tell me to look in mirror, maybe you should give it a shot.
  15. No ones spending $400 for just the minifigs, that’s just a gross exaggeration of differing opinion you just don’t seem to understand. The minifigs imo are just as an integral part to a set along with the build. If I’m paying $400 for a set, I expect something special from all parts of the set, build and minifigs alike. It better be the whole package. And while yes DA is an amazing build, easily in the top 3 of my favorite sets of all time, it wouldn’t be the same without the minifigs. The minifigs give life to the set from the WWW twins to DA Harry to Lockhart. An empty DA isn’t the same. Give me all the variants you can give me I have no problem with any of them. I love every single one of the Harry variants, especially the PS and COS Harrys. I love the HBP and COS Dumbledores. I think so far Lego has done an incredible job with character selections. We have gotten most of the main characters in a wide variety of attires along with a bunch of characters that never been made Kingsley or or James and Lily Potter or Colin Creevy or Slughorn. Honestly the line could end this year and I would be satisfied, I’m thankful for this resurgence of HP. Well that’s the thing, Harry shows up everywhere so keeping one variant exclusive isn’t hurting anyone. For sets under $50 you can get both young and old Hogwarts Harry, Muggle attire Harry from both POA and HBP, Quidditch Harry, Invisibility Cloak Harry, list goes on. Reviews came out the same day the set was revealed which was the day before the set was released. Not to mention it leaked before any other DA minifig. We knew. And considering it’s part of a gimmick of the set with whole secret bag component just lends its even more credibility why it should be exclusive. What’s the point of the secret box where the fig that shows up inside of it is elsewhere?
  16. No offense but this isn’t a really good example. The book was $20 where the set Tom Riddle is coming in is $140. And we don’t even know if it’s the same figure or variant. Meanwhile DA Harry Potter was in a $400 set is now in $40 set, 90% off the original price. I know why they put him in there along with Griphook and the mine cart, so it pairs well with Gringott’s but it’s a bit of a let down to those who bought the OG Diagon Alley set imo.
  17. As the annoying resident Lockhart fanboy, the more Lockhart the better. Make a Bricktober pack with just Lockhart variants: Salmon Pink, Blue, Dueling Club, and the Green ones he wore at the Quidditch match. That still isn’t even all his attires as he has those red ones he wore when Harry was in Detention. Or the Insane Asylum Lockhart. Hell he could have his own CMF line!
  18. Eh I still think there should be exclusive figs or variants and that’s not from watching YouTube, I’m not a big fan of the review community myself. Main characters should obviously be available to everyone but stuff like DA Harry should remain exclusive. There are so many other Harry variants in cheaper sets for those less off, there’s not a problem in keeping one exclusive as an extra incentive to those who shelled out $400. Same with Lockhart, now he has a gold variant in the new Great Hall, so there’s no need to make the lilac one available outside the set. If you’re willing to pay the money, then having a couple exclusive variants or exclusive background characters like Florean Fortescue is totally fine. There’s special feeling when you get a rare minifig.
  19. This fig is either a kit bash from other upcoming figs or fake
  20. They wouldn’t have known how evergreen the theme was by the time they started designing sets for the 2019 second wave which was the POA + GOF wave. The 2018 sets would have just gotten on shelves.
  21. That’s my point though, Shrieking Shack is a pivotal location, yet they haven’t even made it. How would they make something more obscure in the DH homes when the climax of POA was completely omitted? And again I know most AFOLS would snatch up (pun intended) a set like that but if you’re trying to convince a kid when ether he wants a tent with the trio and some generic characters in black or a cool boat that comes with merpeople, a shark headed dude, and potentially some grindylows, and some cool seaweed builds, I’m still betting on Dumstrang Ship selling like hot cakes. Even alot of AFOLS like myself who owned the original and have nostalgia for it would eat this thing up. It’s too fun of a set to pass up on imo, especially if combined with the Second Task. Great mini figure selection as well knowing we could get Igor Karkaroff, Shark Krum, Rita Skeeter, Second Task Harry, Second Task couple of mermaids, and Gabriella. They did this last year with 4 Privet Drive and Diagon Alley and started mixing sets from earlier in the film chronology to supplement, who says they won’t do it again.
  22. I know there isn’t a confirmed lack of DH yet, I meant to say I wouldn’t be surprised. My bad. The reason why I believe that the Dumstrang Ship has a better chance than say the Lovegood home is because of Beauxbaton’s Carriage has been made. If one more obscure vehicle is made, it opens the door for another. Yet we haven’t seen an obscure building be made yet. If 12 Grimmauld Place or the Shrieking Shack was made then sure you could argue that the Lovegood home would have an equal chance as Dumstrang Ship but it hasn’t been made yet. Even The Shrieking Shack which plays a pivotal role in POA hasn’t been made yet. Anyone of the obscure buildings from DH has no predecessor where the Dumstrang Ship has the Beauxbaton’s Carriage. Also the obscure vehicles have more play features like the way the Carriage opens up. What play feature does Xenophilius house has, recall the Tale of the Deathly Hallows where Death kills two folks? These sets are still marketed towards kids after all and they’ll take a cool looking vehicle over a dull looking building with zero play features any day of the week. As for the Slug Club attires, we already know that it was a marketing move by Lego to appeal to the female demographic with more party scenes. So that’s a bit different of a situation. Yeah I could see a tent as well, but it’s just plain boring. With Patronum we got Sirius Black, 2x Dementors, and the Patronus. Grawp had 2x centaurs, Grawp and an Umbridge. The only cool new thing would be a Doe Patronus but honestly don’t think that’s not going to be enough to warrant a set.
  23. Not really surprised by the lack of DH sets, not a lot of the set potential from both films. Either too obscure and wouldn’t sell (Malfoy Manor, Godric’s Hollow, Lovegood home) or just flat out boring, I really don’t need another tent set. The only two sets that would do well would be Courtyard Duel/ 2011 FF remake and Gringott’s, the later isn’t even an exclusive DH set. Lego have been following the formula of having one beast centric set per wave with Aragog, Hungarian Horntail, Grawp, and now Fluffy. The same can be said about the vehicles with the Hogwarts Express, Knight Bus, Beauxbaton’s Carriage and Ford Anglia so I can definitely see Dumstrang Ship. I’ll gladly take a Dumstrang Ship and Second Task to round off GOF. Being the 20th anniversary, I do hope we get one set from HBP and OoTP so every film gets represented. Ideally the $60 set would be Ministry of Magic and $30 would be Inferi Cave. My guesses would be for August would be: $250 - Gringott’s/DA extension $120 - Dumstrang Ship/ Second Task $60 - Ministry of Magic $40 - Courtyard Duel or 2011 FF remake $30 - Inferi Cave
  24. Some of the 20th Anniversary Star Wars sets were modern interpretations of sets that were featured in the 1999 wave, such as the Podracer and Snowspeeder. They weren’t just re-releasing the same set from twenty years past. And I would assume the same with these HP sets, sure they might be using green roofs as an homage to the original, just like Snape with the purple in his robes but these sets will be a modern take.
  25. With the Forbidden Corridor being similar to the 2001 set and will probably have some vegetation representing devil snare, could there be a Chamber of Winged Keys in the big Hogwarts expansion? With the Mirror of Erised and Quirrell in 2018 GH, it would be the last challenge left and would be a nice way to connect the set, much like how the Girl’s Bathroom probably connects to the entrance way of the Chamber of Secrets in some manner. The 2002 Chamber also has a miniature chess board so maybe the advent calendar supplements it in some form? Extremely curious to see how all three sets connect.
